Tarch PL: 112,000. Energy Setting: 40,000
Tarch gave an impatient huff. This was by far the most boring planet he ever been to. Of course, the only reason it was so dull, to begin with, was because literally everyone he knew was still away! No Nashua, no Ramen, definitely no Vocado, Kohlra was still missing in action, and now when Tarch went to visit the palace, he’s told that Kayen went to a neighboring planet. It was some kind of space prison or something, the guard mentioned her having to stop Ochra from doing something. Oh yeah, that’s another person Tarch wouldn’t get to see. The problem now was the stubborn hybrid didn’t actually believe the guard when he said Ms. Kayen was gone.
This time though, he couldn’t even sense her, so instead of barging in, he snuck up onto one of the castle balconies and was left as a pseudo guard. Really the soldiers there just didn’t want to send Tarch on an ever-encroaching rampage. Smart play by them, as he was ready to go off. Maybe he’d get lucky though. He could see the entire capital city from his perch, sensing each and every saiyan making their way to and from the city, going about their days. It still didn’t do much ot offset the boredom. Not to mention, he had to go home soon with his spring break coming to a close. Maybe something can happen before he left back to Earth.

Mollusc paced forward towards the castle. Today would be the day he challenged the Queen. He had arrived on Vegeta and steeled his resolve. He'd walked towards the front where the guards stood. Without a word, he pushed past. He'd not have them stand in his way. They could not stop him anyway, he was far stronger than anyone there. Plus maybe it'd get the attention of the Queen. He'd get the chance to declare his challenge without having to wait around for them to let him in. As he was about to enter however he saw something above him. There was a boy on a balcony. He did not look like a soldier to him. Mollusc took a few steps back. Prehaps he should figure out what he was doing? Maybe he was a guard for the Queen or maybe someone he could convince to support him on his battle agiasnt the queen.
Mollusc floated up to the balcony landing on it and looking over at Tarch. He did remember seeing the boy once or twice before on Namek. He remembered he had been looking for Vocado. Maybe he thought he'd be here? Thought that was a while ago, maybe he was looking for Kayen instead now. He decided he should ask. "What are you doing here? Are you looking for the Queen too? If not what are you doing up here you could get in trouble?" He sort of forgot Tarch was a pretty strong warrior in his own right. He just assumed he was a kid doing kid things like going where he should not go.

A good half hour must have passed by now. Maybe the guards were telling the truth about Ms. Kayen after all? Unless she was just really good at hiding her power level, there was not a trace of her anywhere on the planet. Still, Tarch did enjoy the view of Vegeta, and he figured he should at least leave with a good image of the place. So the teen laid back onto his hands, staring up into the red sky. He had just gotten comfortable when he felt a familiar presence below him. The problem was, that despite how familiar it was, Tarch couldn’t place who it belonged to. He couldn't see them past the roof of the palace. Luckily the energy source would come hovering up to meet him. It was Mr. Mollusc, the namekian he blasted in the face that one time. Also, the one who helped calm his more wild side down.
“Oh, hello Mr. Mollusc,” Tarch picked himself up off of the balcony to greet the namekian. He asked the boy what he was doing up here, wondering if he too was looking for the queen. “I was, but the guards said she went off-planet for some royal business stuff.” Tarch waved a hand as if dismissing the idea. “At first I thought they were just lying, saying that so I didn’t barge inside again. That’s why I’m up here, I figured I’d just sneak up and see for myself. But I’ve been here for like an hour and can’t even sense her anywhere, so I guess they were telling the truth.” The young hybrid then realized that Mollusc said the word ‘too,’ meaning he was also looking for Kayen. Now that he thought about it, Mollusc had actually sworn off the Saiyan Kingdom. Last they spoke, Mollusc had a quiet farm on Namek. So what was he doing here? “If you don’t mind me asking Mr. Mollusc, what are you doing on Vegeta? I thought you left the Saiyan Kingdom.” Tarch felt a small pang of guilt, feeling that he might have gone a little too personal with his questions. He made a small bow, "I'm sorry if that was a little rude. I'm just wondering why you want to find Ms. Kayen is all."

Mollusc nodded. The boy had seen before. He could not remember the boy's name for the life of him. He decided not to say anything, after all, Tarch would have to say his name eventually. When Tarch said Kayen was off-world Mollusc frowned. He was hoping to face him soon though he supposed it would help him get stronger. The more training he did while she was busing doing royal stuff the better. Mollusc rubbed his head, "That is a shame." He'd looked down at the guards. Guess why they did not try to stop him with much force. If he was looking for the Queen and she was not even there, not much would have come out of his search.
Then Tarch wanted to know what he was doing here. He even knew he left the Saiyan Kingdom. Mollusc nodded. "Yes I left the Saiyan Kingdom however, I am not done with Vegeta yet. It is home and many of my friends still are apart of the kingdom. Kayen mindset has corrupted some of them. To make them do vile and evil things. I don't intend for her to sit on the throne anymore. So I came to challenge her to take control of the Saiyan Kingdom. With her nowhere, however, I guess i'm going to train and see if I can find anyone who wants to stand with me." Mollusc shrugged. "What about you?"

Well, that went from zero to a hundred fast. At first, Tarch was not only perfectly content with Mollusc’s reasons for coming to the planet but fully supported them. Having friends to come back to was important, even if the namekian was no longer affiliated with them. It was both admirable and kind of heartwarming to think about. Then the second part came.
“Wait you want to WHAT?!” Tarch shot to his feet. Did he mishear him, or did Mollusc actually want to try and overthrow Kayen? “Wait wait wait, you can’t… I mean… you aren’t…” Tarch knew Mollusc was not in favor of Kayen’s rule, and even vaguely remembered him being opposed to Vocado as well. Who did that even leave? Nashua? Tarch always saw the older saiyan as an older sister, loving and strong. Was that enough to put her on the throne though? She’d be way too soft to be the queen of the rough warrior race. What about Ramen? She was stern but understanding. She’s also human. Did that make too much of a difference? The young hybrid couldn’t exactly imagine Auber or Ochra on the throne and didn’t even want to imagine Cress in charge. The only other one was Mollusc, the one making the challenge. Did he want to rejoin the Saiyan Kingdom as king? Tarch shook his head clear, realizing Mollusc had returned his question.
“I was just coming here to get some last minute lessons in and say goodbye to Ms. Kayen before I leave. B-but nevermind that! What do you mean challenge her?!” Tarch gave the namekian a wary smile, an optimistic thought coming to him. “Y-you’re joking, right? You’re not serious are you?” But the teen could see no smile on Mollusc’s face, and he could hear guards shouting below. “You are serious. Okay but Ms. Kayen isn’t actually evil. Sure she’s not nice, and is a little bad, but not evil! Just a little tougher than most people, even compared to most saiyans!” Tarch was ready to jump into a fighting stance. However, he remembered how Nashua had scolded him for acting rashly and blasting him back on Namek. Maybe this time he could use his words. “L-look. I can’t let you fight Ms. Kayen. She won fair and square. B-besides, who would even take over if you won? Y-you said you left the kingdom.”

Guess that suprised the boy. "I don't see why I can't. If she refuses then she is afraid to lose." Of course, he doubted she'd refused. She could easily show she was the best for the kingdom. He assumed gaining super saiyan had only fueled her arrogance. When Tarch stated why he was here, to get a lesson with Kayen he nodded. "She is strong but she is not a good person. She a bad influence on Ramen in particular. Hence why I came, while she rules people I care about to let her influence overtake them. " Mollusc crossed his arms over his chest. He had already made up his mind. Whatever the boy had to say would not change his mind. He had to face the queen as soon as possible and he had to win.
When Tarch asked if he was joking he sighed. "I heard of a holiday on earth on the April of first people make jokes or jests. They say something and say April fools because it is a joke. That day is not today it is tomorrow." He assumed the boy just got confused, planets seemed to have different times. Maybe on Vegeta, it was already the first of April or later? Tarch then explained she was not evil. "You are a young lad. You may know more then I do about her. It is not about her being evil. It is that people are blinded following her. They become people they are not. IF she was very evil I don't think they'd follow her at least I'd hope." Mollusc rubbed his head. How was he going to put this to the boy?
"Kayen uses dark magic." He'd sighed cracking his neck. "That gem she wears is a demonic item and it is not something that people weak of will should be influenced by. For Kayen this may not be a problem but it radiated that aura of vileness. People who wills are weak or follow Kayen so blindly, they give into evil emotions." Mollusc was unsure exactly but with the experience with Synsthisa, seeing Kayen and Vocado face off along with Ramen own statements he felt at the least, the ruby was bad news. Then Tarch said he could not fight her. "Huh?" Mollusc was confused? Tarch said she won the crown in a fair matter and if who would rule if she was defeated? Mollusc rubbed his chin. "She did win it fair and square. However, from what I know of the Kingdom's law I can challenge if i'm the strongest. Plus I only left because she and Vocado I felt should not rule. If I must I'll rule the Kingdom untill the WTF is defeated. Then we can find someone else." He had not thought it out, he only knew Kayen needed to go.

“W-well no I don’t think she’ll refuse but…” Hearing both himself and Mollusc say it out loud made Tarch wonder why he couldn’t just challenge her. That’s how she became Queen in the first place after all. Then Mollusc mentioned her supposed evil influences on Ramen. Tarch looked at the namekian with wide concerned eyes. “Wait what? Ms. Ramen?” Suddenly the situation made even less sense than before. Tarch knew Kayen wasn’t a good person, but there was no way that could have affected someone as strong as Ramen. What did she do? Mollusc went on, confirming Tarch’s suspicions that this was indeed not just an elaborate prank. It certainly wasn’t April fools, if such a holiday even existed on Vegeta. Knowing the saiyans they probably cared more about fighting than fooling people. The namekian did at least agree that she couldn’t be completely evil. That would surely cause a revolution of some sort.
It wasn’t until Mollusc mentioned Kayen’s dark magic did Tarch freeze. His hand instinctively went to his chest, clutching at his shit as if his life depended on it. His breathing became quick and ragged, his legs shaking slightly. Tarch could feel a cold sweat forming on his brow, remembering the sheer evil power he felt radiating from that gem, the day she slashed him clean across the chest. The boy slowly knelt down, running his hands through his hair. “Get it out of your head Tarch…” he muttered to himself. Before too long he managed to straighten himself up, meeting Mollusc’s gaze once more. In all honesty, the namekian had decent logic until the end.
“I'm not sure how a different leader will stop the fleet people. Otherwise, I guess you have a point. If she won it so can anyone strong enough. But that’s not…” The young hybrid caught himself on his own flawed logic. Leadership was not just about brute strength. Take President Carro for instance. Without Leo the man was probably shorter than Tarch and a hundred times wimpier even in his great ape form. However, Tarch had protested Kayen for the same reasons back on Namek.
“UGHH! This system SUCKS!” he shouted, kicking a hole the stone railing in frustration. “I hate it! I hate how they choose leaders and I hate freaking Saiyans!” He then fired several ki blasts at the air. Maybe he could just join in the challenge for the crown to show them how stupid the whole thing was? “First Vocado! And now Kai damned Kayen! I hate it!” It wasn’t Mollusc’s seeking the crown that bothered him. It was the thought of losing the people he cared about most over something that could be settled in a much cleaner way. Tarch took in a deep semi calming breath. “Okay, I have two questions. First. What did Ms. Ramen do? Second. Are you going to kill Ms. Kayen?” Tarch stared down Mollusc with a look of fury and defeat. Though it may have been the light hitting them in a strange way, the hybrid’s icy blue eyes would seem a touch lighter.

When Tarch asked about Ramen he bit down on his lip. Should he really tell the boy what she did? If she was her friend, then that would hurt the boy bad? Perhaps he already knew that transformation Ramen had undergone. "Ramen and I were both on Arosce. I was there on peace and Ramen was there for war. She wanted to destroy some buildings. That was not a good idea in my mind, It would not help defeat the lords of Arosce, only add fuel to the fire. They could label the Kingdom as aggressors. The WTF been slient and has new leadership. From what I can guess we could be getting near to peace." He was really unsure about that but seeing Kalt and Hale made him think at least some of WTF population were feeling the war in the same way.
"To make a long story short, Some plant being called Syn or something like that along with an Arosce businessman convinced Ramen and Kalabas to destroy military complexes instead of citizen homes. Kalabas tried to blast the businessman but Ramen blocked that attack. In response, the plant man tried to blast Kalabas. Ramen didn't take kindly to that, as she had some grudge to these pride troopers for killing someone named Banzo. So she killed Syn." He'd rubbed his forehead. "She found it justified. I found it barbaric. Something a pirate would do. Not the person I thought Ramen was. She claimed that Syn had to be killed, she had a gem like Kayen's. So I connected the dots, If Kayen has the same gem, she needs to be taken off the throne." Mollusc concluded with a sigh. "I am sorry I had to tell you that. You should ask Ramen yourself. She can tell you her side." He doubted Ramen side would be as truthful as his own but it was Tarch choice to make not his.
He could see Tarch was also not really happy about any of this. He kicked a large hole into the balcony. "Careful don't need to damage the place. If you want to blow up steam you should fight someone not blows up some buildings." Mollusc suggested though he was unsure if that was a good idea either. That datebook he read, suggested when a couple had a fight, they cool off. Yet he didn't see any ice cubes to do that. After that little temper tantrum, the boy had two questions for him. The first he already answered but the second gave him pause. "I am unsure that not killing her will fix what I see as a problem. At the same time If I do kill her, I am doing what Ramen did. I would be no better than either of them. If I win, I suppose i'll banish her." Mollusc shrugged. That seemed to be his only option, he'd certainly not have her snaking about, influencing those he cared about.

Tarch’s eyes went wide with fear. “N-no. Not Ms. Ramen. Sh-she would never… She could never…” He was ready to scream, call Mollusc a liar and slam him to the ground. But why would he start lying now? He had been completely honest about his motives so far, and he wasn’t the type to lie to get his way. He was like Tarch, sticking true to what he believed, even if it was flawed, to the very end. The only issue now was what did the boy believe anymore? If Kayen was the one who attacked the other planet, the teen would have been unsurprised. Kayen was by no means a good person, and while he didn’t approve, it was just part of who she was. But Ms. Ramen was always a kind but stern person, being the level headed voice of reason to both Vocado and Kayen’s stubborn ways. Oh, but he wasn’t done. The situation grew even worse once Kalabas was brought up. “Belle…” was the only thing Tarch could think to say.
Now Tarch was visibly crying, silent tears slowly dripping from his cheeks. What if the same things happened to his friends? What if Nashua did something terrible just like Ms. Ramen and Mr. Kalabas. What if she already had? Mollusc went on to describe the situation in full, however, the young half saiyan was gone, only picking up every other word. He clenched his fist, hearing about Synthesia’s death. What if that gem was the key to all this? Couldn’t they just destroy it? This was stupid. No, asinine. The saiyan kingdom killed a pride trooper over a stupid grudge? But they killed Mr. Banzo, a name Tarch only heard a few times, a man he only met once. Finally, the icing on the cake was Mollusc affirming he may indeed have to kill Kayen. But why?
Tarch grit his teeth, his hands balled in fists of rage. “G-god…” He then screamed loud enough for the entire planet to hear him, his voice absolutely coated in rage, “GOD DAMN IT!!!” Tarch’s aura flared out, his hair spiking up. For a split second his usually black locks lightened, turning almost golden but for an instant. It faded as quickly as it came, however, returning to its original charcoal color.
“I CAN’T TAKE THIS ANYMORE! WHY?!? WHY DOES SHIT LIKE THIS HAPPEN?!” Tarch finished his screaming, his aura practically exploding with barely contained power. He then fell to his knees, his aura dispersing in a wild flash. “Why… why does it always have to be killing?” he wept. After taking a moment to recompose himself, albeit barely, Tarch glared up at Mollusc, his icy blue eyes ablaze with confused fury. “You said I should fight instead of break things right Mr. Mollusc? Fine. You have to follow what you believe in right?” Tarch shifted into a nearly pristine fighting stance. “Well, I have to do it too. So I’m going to fight you. Because I believe Ms. Kayen or anyone for that matter can be a good person. And I don’t ever think killing is the right thing to do. As long as you don’t turn giant, I won’t turn into a great ape. Think of it as my challenge if it makes you feel better. Deal?”

"I did not think she could do something like that too. Despite those feelings, we have for people they can do things we don't expect. We can't let those blind us from who they actually are." Mollusc rubbed his chin. Reading all those books about making friends was really helping him. Yet, he felt awful. He could see the boy was in tears over this. Maybe he should of just not told him anything. Yet, if he didn't then he'd not be informed. He deserved to know the truth just like anyone else. Mollusc rubbed at his head, why was everything so hard? If only things could be easy to solve, but he had to keep his resolve. He'd looked down at the boy as screamed out in anger. He saw a small flash but nothing. Mollusc rubbed his eyes, guess it was just the boy's aura. Afterall he was pretty pissed, of course, he released a lot of power.
"Why? That is a good question. But, if you don't kill someone they can come back and do harm. They can still be a threat. Death is not so easy to sidestep. Once your dead only the dragonballs can bring you back. I am not saying it is right but that why people do it. Because it is easier." Mollusc frowned. What else was he suppose to say to Tarch? Mollusc was always a blunt man, he told it how it was. Tarch then noted instead of breaking things he'd do what he advised. Guess that was better than busting the place. He could take the boys blows. If he couldn't then he stood no chance agiasnt Kayen. When he named the fight requirements he nodded. "Fine but let's not do it here. Someone other then us will get hurt." Mollusc said with a nod to Tarch. Mollusc floated up and waited for Tarch to lead them to a place he wanted to fight.

This can’t be right. There is always another way. There HAS to be another way. Then the hybrid remembered what Sensoa asked him. But that was different. The demon asked what he’d do if someone tried to kill him. This was someone trying to kill someone he cared about. But why should he care? Kayen was a bad person, who did bad things. That never mattered to Tarch. His best friend was practically a known felon. Yet he loved him like the brother he never had. “So am I a bad person too?” he muttered lowly, more to himself than anyone else. "Nevermind." He quickly looked back to Mollusc, nodding at his conditions for the fight.
Tarch’s bawled fists shook. Despite Mollusc’s request, all he wanted to do was grab him by the collar and slam him to the ground. Of course, Kayen probably would not appreciate coming back to the palace to find a namekian shaped hole, along with whatever Carnage the two may bring in their fight. Not to mention that namekian did have a point. If they fought there some innocent bystander was bound to get hurt. So without a word Tarch rose into the air before shooting off toward the desert.
It was a good ways away from the palace, leaving the teen flying for a few minutes. After a while, he unceremoniously crashed into the sand, kicking up small clouds of dust. Tarch then turned to face his opponent, assuming he followed him as he promised. The stage was set, the conditions were plainly stated, and two strong warriors were about to engage in an explosive brawl. Once more Tarch assumed his fighting stance, the wind blowing the still disturbed sand.
“If I find out you killed Ms. Kayen…” Then what? She was a bad person. Bad people get what’s coming to them. But did it really have to be death? Tarch just shook his head. “Get ready… HERE I COME!” Kicking another cloud of dust, Tarch was gone in a flash. Behind him, a tidal wave of dust and sand flew as he charged straight for Mollusc with his fist clenched. He would then try to land a punch right for Mollusc’s jaw, not worrying about what to do even if he missed.

Mollusc saw the boy shoot out with great speed. Mollusc flew off after the boy. He had to admit he was fast, faster then he was. The boy had been training hard while he had been slacking. However, he needed to hold his own. If he could not at least defeat Tarch then what about Kayen? He'd be doomed in the fight against her. They flew for a few minutes and arrived in the location they were going to fight. Mollusc looked around. He'd then looked down at Tarch's stance. He got to a lower stance bringing one arm back and one arm towards his chest. "You have asked me not to kill Ms.Kayen. I will respect that wish. Yet, she will not rule if I win. I can tell you that much." Mollusc explained. As he had said before if he did kill her that would make him just as bad as Ramen. The boy finally charged hitting him across the chin. Mollusc flew back crashing into the sand on all fours. The boy was fierce. Mollusc spat some blood in the dirt then got back up. He didn't attack, he just stared at Tarch.

Tarch’s punch landed perfectly. Perhaps a little too perfect. The young half saiyan squinted toward Mollusc, wondering if this was some sort of ruse to lull him into a false sense of security. A full second would pass by before Tarch would withdraw his fist. He then moved to hop back across the ground, putting some distance between the two. The teen took a moment to look at his own fist, a little surprised by his own strength, but in far too foul a mood to be excited. His mood was only worsened by the fact his opponent made no move to counter, or even stop the blow. They were having a fight right? The fight was practically Mollusc’s idea. So what the hell was he up to? Maybe he wanted an answer to his dubious but respectful agreement not kill Ms. Kayen.
“Honestly, I don’t care if Ms. Kayen is Queen or not. Mr. Vocado isn’t the king but I still… respect him.” Tarch stopped himself from saying that he looked up to him. At one point it was true. He would have sworn up and down that he looked up to Mr. Vocado. Now he still had ample respect for him, but Tarch wasn’t entirely sure he knew the former saiyan king as well as he once thought. “As long as they’re both alive, they can still do good. That’s one of the reasons I hate killing, even bad people. If someone can do terrible, awful things, then they can do great and wonderful things too. Unless they’re dead.” It was childish. But Tarch was above all else a child. He saw the world through young and naive eyes. He wanted to learn as much as he could, while still being able to stay his usual happy and positive self.
That still didn’t detract from the fact that the two were supposed to be fighting. “So what about now Mr. Mollusc. I’m not just gonna stop fighting now. I’ve come too far to stop now,” he wasn’t just talking about this very minute, “But I’m also not going to attack someone who can’t or won’t fight back.” He resumed his stance, bringing his fist close to his cheek. He wouldn’t make another move to attack though, instead choosing to wait and see what Mollusc would do next.

Guess that was good Tarch was getting better. He seemed to be cooling down a bit. "Yes. If people are alive they can change as people. Hell, maybe I don't have to get rid of her as queen." If the blood ruby was bad, then if he could just get rid of the ruby, she would become a better person perhaps? Guess he'd have to give that option to Kayen. Then there was a pause in the fighting. Tarch was not going to keep attacking, he waited for him to attack. Mollusc narrowed his eye and took a step forward. "I wanted to explain my reasoning first. However, I did promise a fight." He'd brought his left arm back. He'd swung his arm up but then it extended shooting higher and higher into the air. Once it got about 30 feet in the air he swung his hand right down aiming to smash Tarch right into the ground.

Tarch flashed the namekian a smile. Not his usually wide toothy goofy grin, but more of a cocky smirk. The smile did falter when Mollusc said he wanted to explain himself a little further. But as he himself mentioned, he promised a fight. So naturally, the teen jerked forward when he saw Mollusc raise his arm to the sky. Yet as the green limb rose, it didn’t stop anywhere near where Tarch would have expected. The young half saiyan watched, mesmerized by the stretching arms. He never knew Namekians could do that! Could all of them do it too? He’d have to ask Mr. Chime, or even Mr. Oboe if he ever came back to Namek for some ungodly reason. Unfortunately, he was too entranced by the extension that he easily let himself take a nice hard smack. Luckily, that was just what the teen needed to snap back to earth, or vegeta rather.
“Okay then…” he grunted, picking himself up from the sand. Tarch brushed the dust from his sleeves, thankful that Mollusc wasn’t just starting as hard as he did. “I think that last hit knocked some sense into me. You said you wanted to explain your reasons a bit more before we fought right? But you also said you wanted to fight, or would give me a fight, or whatever. I may not be as strong as Ms. Kayen, but I’m at least a good warm up… I hope... So how about this. I’ll let you decide if we talk first then fight, or get the fight out of the way. Now that we’ve both gotten something out, I think I can think a little more clearly.” Tarch would wait for Mollusc’s response. As a show of good faith, he’d even drop any combative stance. Instead, he’d simply stand there with his arms folded, still carrying the same light smile. Of course, should his opponent chose to fight first, he’d be ready to spring back into action at a moment’s notice.
