Koban was grinning victoriously as his fist made direct contact with Ullic’s jaw sending the villainous Namekian sending him flying away to eventually smash into the sidewalk. Ullic always seemed to play into a very risk vs reward type of fighting and really liked to favor using his power to his advantage to counter attacks, it was a style Koban had grown increasingly familiar with the more they interacted considering how often their interactions became brawls. This time, however, Ullic had heavily overreached with his opening combo and while he seemed in need of a bit of time to pull back and use a bit less power Koban knew he had a bit more in the tank, but at least for the moment he would hold on, let his energy rebuild so he could hopefully take Ullic down before he did anything really dangerous. Even as far as Koban’s punch had sent him flying Ullic still managed a melee attack his arm extending as he delivered a powerful elbow strike that Koban raised an arm to fend off “The only chance you had was to take me out from the start Ullic, I’ll give you a chance to stand down now and come with me peacefully” Koban said as Ullic’s elbow clashed with his forearm. Koban was quick, blocking Ulic’s elbow strike with his own elbow. Ulic hadn’t really expected his attack to work, but he’d had hopes. But now Koban felt assured that he had the upper hand. This sort of thing would be a death sentence for most opponents, as overconfidence was the mother of all defeats, but there was something weird about Koban. When he was certain he would win a fight, most of the time he was right. Ulic speculated that it had something to do with that hero complex the man had, that certain rules just didn’t apply because the universe didn’t want them to. This was why Ulic wanted Koban as his rival.
“You know, you’re probably right. But if you think I’m comin’ with you, you’re outta yer mind.”
Ulic knew Koban wouldn’t just let him walk away, however. It wasn’t in the Trooper’s DNA to let a guy like Ulic get away. He’d need to give Koban something bigger to chase, something more important.
“How bout this - since you’re nice and awake and all fueled up, I’ll offer you a trade. I happen to know that right now someone in this city is transporting like a metric fuckload of weapons and explosives to be sold off to the highest bidder. I give you their name, you go do your hero thing, and I stay outta yer hair for a little while.”
Sure, Ulic didn’t mention that he’d been instrumental in getting those weapons and explosives onto the planet, but that part wasn’t important.

Koban was only a little surprised when Ullic actually agreed with his assertion that the failed opening gambit had put Ullic too far behind in the fight to overcome, whether or not it was actually TRUE that Ullic was too far behind Koban was not quite sure, he believed wholeheartedly in his skills and knew he held an advantage in power at the moment but there was always a chance something could go wrong. What exactly Ullic intended to do next however was the real question, if he believed the fight to be a lost cause but was also unwilling to surrender that meant only one thing was coming. Koban sighed as Ullic made his offer, part of Koban wanted to think he could readily just take down Ullic AND find the weapons dealers, truth be told there probably WAS a chance he could do it, with a few calls to the others assuming they were near enough someone like Sam’s better investigative skills might do the job. But that was just a few too many ‘mights’ especially when Koban had so little to work with in regards to Ullic seeing justice, in theory he could bring him in to the authorities and they could handle the charges of assault but that would require time to give a statement, time he didn’t have. “Fine Ullic, give me the details and you can go. As long as the man running the stand really IS fine I’m the only one I know you’ve harmed so taking care of that is more important” Koban said in a disgruntled tone clearly disliking the idea of letting Ullic get away. He could at the very least rely on the idea that the information Ullic gave him was likely to be legitimate and useful, he was most certainly the type to want to try something like this again sometime and he would need Koban to trust him enough to take the deal. “Always knew you were smart, Kobey-baby. And of course the takoyaki stand owner is alive and well, even I’m not that much of a bastard as to deprive this world of such culinary perfection!”
As if on cue, the owner of the takoyaki cart returned to his post, looking happy - if a bit confused. Ulic pointed energetically at the human, making a distinct ‘see?! See?!’ face.
“The dude yer lookin for is a Konatsian, calls himself Stain but I doubt that’s his real name. Missing a big ol’ chunk out of his left ear. Carries a bunch of knives, though I dunno if he knows how to use ‘em, he seems the type to just want to look like a badass if you know what I mean. Anyway, he’s supposed to be puttin’ the goods on a couple freight trains tonight, distributing them all over - East City, West City, North City, I’m talkin everywhere. But I know for a fact he ain’t set up the logistics of that transfer of goods just yet, you feel me? Means he’s still got palms to grease and egos to stroke over at the transit authority.”
Ulic shrugged, and started to take a few steps back from Koban. He didn’t plan on giving the Trooper any further details unless he absolutely had to - there was still enough wiggle room to salvage some of these goods if he acted fast enough.
“Anyway, that’s what I got. Good enough for you? You might wanna roll out, though, cuz this guy acts fast then vanishes, it’s nuts.”

Koban gave Ullic a disgruntled look as the Namekian complimented him but found himself more at ease as Ullic mentioned the return of the Takoyaki stand owner excitedly pointing to the stand, when Koban turned to look he half expected Ullic to deck him again but to his pleasant surprise he instead saw the familiar man giving a slightly confused wave. Then Ullic gave him the details, they were unfortunately not QUITE as thorough as Koban would have liked but ultimately he could tell pretty well that this was likely as good as he was going to get out of Ullic without having to press him further for a more detailed rundown of the operation and with what Ullic HAD described Koban really had to get to work on this as quickly as possible, probably even give some of the others and some of his contacts in the police force a call. Koban let out one last long sigh as Ullic asked if the description was good enough “Yeah it's good enough. TRY to stay out of trouble Ullic, I’m sure not even YOU want to give the rest of the new arrivals from Vegeta a bad name.” Koban said, he didn’t know TOO much about Ullic personally but he was fairly certain the man was natively from Vegeta, getting Ullic off of Earth was actually probably even greater incentive to try and drive the WTF back from Vegeta. “A pleasure doin’ business with ya then. Hey, anytime you want some of that ta-Koban-yaki, just hit me up. The recipe is all up in here, Kobey-baby,” Ulic tapped his temple with his finger, smiling widely as he kept backing up. As he crossed over from the sidewalk to the grass behind him, he turned his back and started walking briskly away. He was confident the Koban would let him go, or at the very least wouldn’t hit him from behind. He was the hero, after all.
As he turned a corner, he pulled out his phone and sent a text out to Stain’s burner phone. It only contained three simple words.
You’ve been made.
With that, he made his way back towards the train station. He wanted to get back to West City before Koban’s little sting operation could go off. Better that he be far, far away when that shit went down.
Exiting thread, thank you!
