"Well, we can't win them all." Snap chuckled. "But it helps to have some kind of plan for how to proceed with combat, especially in a collaborative situation such as ours."
"And yes, there should be plenty of other ways, but..." Donata started off before shrugging. "I haven't practiced. Like, at all. Like I've mentioned, my parents want me to study and be a good professional, not a crime fighter or something."
"But yeah, I still do fight bad guys!" the girl then broke out in laughter. "I don't know why. I guess because it's really exciting. And I do like it, it feels good to defend Earth and get rid of bad guys, be the hero, you know? But yeah. Pretty much the only times that I get to use my powers are those times, beating up the baddies and having Cereal here protect me and stuff as I do the big business on invader butt!"
"Magic seems a lot more versatile and like, uh... How do I put it. Academic? Arcane? Yeah." she added. "You can do a lot more stuff with it! Making food and bowls and stuff, it's crazy. My stuff feels quite a bit more limited, huhu. I doubt I'd ever manage to like, believe some ice cream into existence, I don't think psychic stuff would ever work like that, and it's a pity. But oh well. It's still cool, huhu."
"I guess. Being careful never hurts, though." Or maybe she was just worrying too much. It did seem like they knew what they was doing, more than Suri did. And if anything went wrong, she was sure the four of them could figure something out.
"Right, I remember." Suri nodded, and continued listening. "Ah. I see...uh...'invader'?" '...Home invaders?' "And...is Snap's last name 'Cereal', or is that one of the others' names?" Suri tilted her head, a bit confused by the information she hadn't been given.
"But...that sounds...fun! I've...never actively gone out to fight bad people like that before. I mostly fought against people in martial arts tournaments, with safety measures, and...knockout rules." Suri remembered one occasion of her fighting outside of a tournament. "...One time, though, there was this red monster. I'm not sure what happened initially, but he came out of the bushes and stabbed me with his arm, which could grow spikes. He...wanted to absorb me...?" Suri shivered at the thought of Plague. The creature lurked in her nightmares like he lurked in the bushes. "Not sure what he meant, but...You should look out for things like that, stay alert and...stay safe."
"Hmm..." Suri took another bite from the ice cream while thinking. The bowl was almost empty! "It's definitely academic, as in, I had to read books, heh... Versatile...yes. I can definitely think of a lot of ways magic could be used in regular life. In combat...well, I guess I'll...think of something too. For now, though, I just use it to shoot ice cream -ki blasts." Suri briefly put a hand up as if she was shooting one, but she put it down, not shooting anything. She didn't want to do any damage to the house, after all. "...Well, who knows, maybe it can! I'm constantly finding new ways to use my powers, maybe you can too, and if not, well, whatever. Like you said, it's still cool!" And with that, Suri smiled encouragingly.
"Speaking of cool, the hero thing sounds cool too...and fun, I want to try that...how do you usually go on about doing it?"
