Scallio wiped away the sweat from his brow exhaling heavily as he did so. The white t-shirt underneath his red sleeveless jacket was stained with dirt and drenched in sweat. His right hand gripped tightly around the wooden handle oo the gardening hoe. The Saiyan's black orbs scanning the work he'd so far. He'd been at this for a while now. At least two or three hours if he'd been keeping track of the time right. And yet, even with the several miles of sowing done he still had a lot of work ahead of him. Truth be told Scallio wasn't even sure he was doing this right. This had been his first time taking on a contract like this.
Farming wasn't exactly his forte, but this had been the highest paying work he'd been able to find. Earth wasn't exactly filled with conflict for a mercenary like himself. The world was far more peaceful than Vegeta. From what Scallio had seen most of the Earth's populace were unfamiliar with battle. Earthlings were not warriors like the Saiyans or at least the ones Scallio had met weren't. That wasn't to say that Earth was without its troubles. Scallio need look no further than what was going with Date's own family. But those were thoughts for another time. Right now Scallio needed to focus on the task at hand.
Even if it wasn't something he found to be the most interesting. Scallio let out another breath and went back to dragging the hoe along the ground. Advancing forward at a relatively slow pace. He could of course just flew and gotten this done a lot faster. But he didn't want to take the chance of making any mistakes. It might take longer but at least that way he'd know he'd done the job right. Or at least there was a better chance at it. Besides, this could also work as some type of training, right? The mercenary wasn't quite sure how but it did help to think of it like that.
"Only five more miles to go." he said boredly, tail wagging in the air behind him. It was already mid afternoon, the sun beating down strongly on Scallio's large Saiyan form. If he kept up at the pace he was going he'd been done by early evening. That was his hope at least. With the way things tended to go for him something....interesting or troublesome might ended up finding its way to him. Wouldn't that be fortunate.
"It saved me from this boredom." he muttered as he continued to work.

Farming land had been far from abundant on the desert planet of Konats, but when it came to Earth, there was almost too much farming territory. How the heck the Earthlings managed to fill their stomachs with so much vegetated crap was a complete mystery to Ashi. Meat was way better, in nearly every way possible. Sure, maybe 'doctors' recommended vegetables, but vegetables mostly taste like crap. These anti veggie thoughts raced through Ashi's mind as she drove through the farmlands on a truck she'd rented for surprisingly cheap, her jacket tied around her waist and a pair of thick, black sunglasses over her eyes as she sped down the dirt road, an arm placed on the open window while the wind rushed through her hair. It beat flying, and it sure beat walking, both of which were pretty exhausting to do for long stretches of time.
Ashi's teeth gnawed on an unlit cigarette butt as she lazily gazed out onto the open fields, with little to entertain the eyes other than the occasional cattle or farmer hard at work. It actually made her... Kinda drowsy... The Konatsian wasn't entirely sure how long she'd fallen asleep for, but what she did know was that her pickup truck had suddenly veered off the side of the dirt road and was on much bumpier road now. "Whoa, whoa!" she exclaimed as she wrestled for control of the wheel, though momentarily forgot her own strength, which resulted in her ripping the steering wheel right from its position on the dashboard. "...Shit." Soil and dirt alike - if there was a difference between the two - were torn up by the tires as Ashi attempted to fit the wheel back on, and she only looked up in time to barely see a black and red mohawk before...
She wasn't sure if she'd just hit a scarecrow or a farmer, but whatever it was, the thing Ashi's truck had crashed into had managed to stop her vehicle's ceaseless rampage across the farmlands. The Konatsian sat in her seat for a few moments, watching the steam start to rise from the fried engine in front of her, before she let out a sigh, adjusted her sunglasses, and opened the door, her dark blue boots sinking into the ripped up soil as she stepped outside. "Maybe I should've gotten that rental insurance the guy was trying to sell me..." Ashi mumbled as she crossed her arms and examined the damage, biting her lip as she confirmed the pickup truck had indeed seen better days. These scratches would... Buff out, right?
He still hadn't been making much progress partially because he'd started to slow down further. The boredom of the work starting to get to him. How bad would it look if he canceled the contract after getting halfway through it? "Pretty bad." he said dryly, wiping more sweat from his brow and letting out a sigh. Perhaps it would be in his best interest to just fly. He might not end up getting things done correctly but it would get done faster. And then he could just collect the money and move onto something a bit more thrilling.
No, he really couldn't do that. That was asking to start going down a slippery slope when it came to contracts. The Crimson Apes wouldn't end up with the best of reputations on Earth either. Better to just tough it out and then avoid jobs like this in the future. "Or at least send Kale to do them." definitely the best idea now that he was thinking about it more. Kale was basically meant to do grunt work like this anyway. God, why hadn't he forced Kale to do this in the first place? Now he was bored and frustrated with himself at the same time.
At least one of those two things would end up getting solved shortly. Not that Scallio was aware of that. No, the Saiyan was far too lost in his thoughts and focused on his works. That he didn't even notice the truck as it swerved onto the field. It was only when the noise from vehicle overtook the silence in the air that his attention was drawn towards it. "What's that sound?" he questioned his head darting from left to right as he looked for the source. Was it coming from behind him? He turned around but it was already too late for him. The front of the truck was within his view for only a few seconds.
"Son of a-" he wasn't even able to finish the sentence. The vehicle slammed into him, knocking the hoe from his hand and it sending it flying into the air. Scallio himself was sent backward several feet. His back hitting against the recently sowed ground with a 'thud'. It was painful, to say the least, but nothing compared to someone of the injuries Scallio had suffered. What was this planet and trying to kill him with vehicles though? First the near-miss at Central City and now this. If he didn't know better he'd have sworn some force was out to get him.
Scallio groaned as he sat himself, "Ugh. What the fuck man." he rubbed at the back of his neck, which was now stiff and sore. He then quickly time to look around for the truck that had hit him. What he saw before that though was the damage done to his work. The soil he'd previously been tending to was all but ruined. If he hadn't been furious before he certainly was now. "You've got be kidding me!" the Saiyan stood himself up, black orbs filled with anger as they fell upon the vehicle and its driver. It was a woman and she seemed far more concerned about her rental than the fact she'd just hit a man.
A brilliant aura of orange erupted around Scallio's body and he took a heavy step forward. He outstretched a hand, pointing his open palm directly towards the truck as he built up energy within it. Scallio didn't care if it had happened by accident. All that matter is that it happened and ruined the hours of work that he'd done. So, now, it was time that he got a little even. The energy built within his palm launched outward in an orange sphere.
It collided against the truck and exploded reducing the vehicle to bits of scrap metal. "How's that for insurance?" he barked, so angry and frustrated that he didn't even care that his one-liner made no sense. "I've got to re-plow all that fucking farmland now thanks to you." he shouted, aura still burning intensely around him.
Ashi began to pat herself down on her various pockets in an attempt to try and find her phone wallet, as she'd slipped the rental company's contact information card into said wallet beforehand. However, it seemed that perhaps contacting them to inform them about what had happened to the vehicle would be unwise, considering the additional damages it was about to sustain. In a brilliant flash of orange ki, the 'scarecrow' Ashi had hit with the truck was quite pissed off, and a blast of power later, the rental truck had been reduced to little but ash and broken pieces. Well, then. That was unfortunate. Ashi bit her lip before turning her head over towards what had just exploded her vehicle - a Saiyan man, if his tail wasn't just part of some weird cosplay, who had on an interesting looking mohawk and a vicious scowl. Not the friendly type, she took it.
Then again, she wouldn't exactly have been too friendly if she'd just been hit by a truck, too. But that didn't mean she was gonna act all understanding towards this asshole. "What?" she snapped back at the Saiyan, her eyebrows furrowing behind her sunglasses. "What do you want me to do about it, why don't you go buy a freakin' tractor or something instead of trying to dig up an entire field with your bare hands?!" This guy wasn't the brightest bulb in the socket, clearly, though if he was anything, it was powerful. Powerful enough to blow up the entire truck with a single blast of ki, anyway, though, to be fair, Ashi could probably do that, too. So chances were that he wasn't that much stronger than her, if at all. In other words, if he got too prissy, Ashi could smack him upside the head and be on her way.
Ashi let out an annoyed sigh and rolled her eyes. "Anyway, I better call the rental company and let them know some crazed monkey blew up my truck," she muttered as she dug her phone out of her pocket along with her wallet. However, once she tried dialing the number, the call was almost immediately dropped. "Goddammit, Z-Mobile," she angrily spat out as she tried holding her phone up into the air to get better service, to no avail. They must have been too far out into the middle of nowhere to be getting any reception. "Ugh, this sucks," she grumbled, hanging up and stuffing her phone and wallet back into her pockets. Now she was gonna have to walk all the way back to civilization. Or fly, she supposed, but the wind getting into her eyes was still annoying as hell. "Anyway, piss off, farmer boy, and get back to work or whatever," she said to him with a leer before walking back over towards the road. Maybe a car would come along she could hitch a ride off of, eventually.
Wow, talk about rude. Even after she seemed to notice that she'd hit an actual person she didn't seem fazed. It hadn't been until he reduced her vehicle to pieces that he'd managed to get any type of real reaction out of her. And it hadn't been the one Scallio had wanted either, but her anger was to be expected. Not that he felt bad for destroying her truck. She'd deserved it and more as far as Scallio was concerned for driving so recklessly. "Don't you fucking what me." he barked, speaking the word what in a tone that attempted to mock Ashi. "You know exactly what you did so don't play stupid." he grumbled gritting his teeth, and flicking his tail in anger. What the hell was with this woman? Did she not have a single bone of empathy in her body? Or any remorse for the fact she'd just ran a man over!? Clearly not.
Scallio was too angry to admit that she had a point in regards to the tracker. "Gaah! The field isn't even really the point and you know it!" the Saiyan threw his arms up in frustration. "You just hit me and you don't even seem to care." it seemed like she was ignoring him now. Even going so far as to bring out her phone and attempt to call whoever the truck really belonged to. He spat on the ground next to her, "Be sure to let them you're a reckless driver as well. One that likes to run people over." he couldn't help but chuckle seeing that the call didn't go through. "Looks to me like the universe is dishing out some payback of its own." he said smugly, folding his arms against his chest as he did so.
As she told him to piss off and insulted him further, Scallio seemed to have reached his boiling point. His orange aura erupting to life around him once more. "Monkey?" he took a step forward, "Piss off?" another step, Farm Boy?" with each step close to her Scallio would further increase the strength of his aura. "You need to learn some respect." the Saiyan pulled a hand back and quickly began to charge ki within its palm. The small orb of orange that appeared in his palm was small at first but grew quickly in size. Until he was holding a large swirling vortex of orange ki within his hand.
Perhaps he was taking things to far. Perhaps he was clouded by his anger and frustration. None of that matter right now. All that matter was how fed up he was with this woman's shit and lack of care. With as much force as he could muster Scallio pushed his hand forward and released the built up energy. A massive beam of ki launching outward and towards Ashi. It carried with it the full weight of Scallio's power as it threatened to crash into her. This was Scallio's Siege Bazooka, one of his strongest techniques, and he'd used it out of spite.
As agreed by Nashua, no KP will be used for the duration of this thread.
