THREAD POWERLEVEL: 40,000 Auber's first place to go to after landing on Namek and revisiting the quiet, peaceful and serene atmosphere of the green planet was these equally tranquil plains, it lacked life, it lacked noise, it lacked anything that would make the normal person stressful, a perfect resting spot for nature-lovers.
The young Saiyan found himself in these lands, arms crossed as he stared at a direction, this direction had nothing interesting and he didn't find anything peculiar, he was simply deep in thought, Mollusc challenged Kayen, indirectly mostly, would he really survive? Well, survive he might but win? Not a chance.
He looked at the land around him, he remembered the time when he first arrived on Namek, it was such a stressful time of war back then, such tension hung in the air, he remembered every moment, a second you could be talking with your comrades about how you would crush the Fleet members, and the next, you can find a hole in your chest from a ki blast.
He sighed, even still, those were simpler times, there was no inner conflict in the Kingdom, for the most part, they were organised enough to plan, fight and win against the enemy, now? It's members are questioning the Queen's motives, a lot of people are curious if the Empire is gonna come back.

”HRAAAAAAAAAAH!!!”
Vocado’s Ki exploded around him, and the rock his fist collided with turned to dust. Energy sparked from his knuckles, before slowly fizzling out. He was getting better at this whole Super Saiyan, even if it was taking such extreme effort. Controlling the form fully was a ways away, but he was able to keep in the form for an entire day now before the toll on his body fizzled him out. It didn’t mean he was going to last that long in a fight, but casual use was still use.
Sighing in exasperation, the young Saiyan Exile grabbed a canteen and took massive, hearty gulps. It felt like he’d never drank water in his life. Who knew it could be so refreshing?
In the time between exercises, he sensed someone. Familiar yet foreign, the Ki reminded him of someone from Vegeta. Had Auber come to Namek already? Surely not. It was just his imagination. He’d only invited the grunt a day or two ago. Had he left the planet already? Surely he stuck around to watch Mollusc get buried, no?
Whatever the case, he needed to focus. Sooner or later he’d start the hunt. Too many powerful warriors had flocked to the planet at once. The Dragon Balls were active, and he needed to be the one to collect them.
Without a second thought, the Super Saiyan kicked the earth beneath him, and a rock popped into the sky. He shouted, and launched an energy orb at it, vaporizing it instantly.

He sensed a nearby colossal signature, one that rivals the Super Saiyan forms of Nashua and Kayen, maybe that would be Vocado himself? He did hear he too, had gotten his Super Saiyan transformation, so it wouldn't be very surprising if that gigantic energy was him.
He flew over a bit nearer to the former-king but stopped at a reasonable distance "Hey there." He called out casually, arms crossed, "It's been a while." He stated, now, of course, he had no idea where to start this conversation when it came to Vocado, after all, there were a lot of things they needed to talk about.
But for the moment, a greeting and hopefully something that starts a conversation out of the former-king would suffice, meanwhile, Auber needs to decide what he should talk about to him, he can't ask the ex-king questions like why he exiled himself or why he won't work with Kayen, because not only are they questions Auber knew the answer to but because they also would probably be a touchy subject for the Super Saiyan. ”The hell...?”
Vocado turned, the voice behind him definitely belonging to the Saiyan he’d invited back at the arena. How fast did he ditch Vegeta? Whatever the case, he was here, and that meant something. Be it good or bad, at the very least it’d be interesting. He smiled wide at the Saiyan across from him, offering a casual, two-fingered salute
”I’d say long time no see, but I’m pretty sure we saw each other not even a week ago now. How’d the battle with Mollusc go? He still alive?”

"Didn't stick around to find out, his idiotic resolve and stupid motivation killed it for me, it's like watching a whiny 3-year old child trying to hit an adult." Auber explained, thinking back on it, the scenario would have likely have been as boring and unpleasant as the analogy he just presented.
Vocado seemed pretty cheery and normal, perhaps he had finally gotten over his defeat and the fact he held no more power in the Kingdom, or he could simply be hiding it, if he slips up, Auber will know soon enough, though he isn't sure if he'll really bring it up.
Another thing Auber noted is how Vocado seemed to possess the Super Saiyan form, he can already imagine how amusing Scallio's reaction would be, Auber was acquainted with three Super Saiyans, no idea how he's going to act after that however.

"Well, let's hope he didn't get himself killed. I still need to knock some sense into him when I see him next."
Their conversation was... Awkward. Stilted. To say Auber was a close friend would be a lie for sure. They'd never talked more than pleasantries, really. Maybe that's why he lost the crown. He wasn't in touch with his followers... Or maybe it was because his arm was lopped off. Could have been either one, honestly.
Turning away from his fellow Saiyan, Vocado shadow-boxed, finishing off with a kick that send a crescent-shaped energy bolt across the flatlands. It slammed into a boulder, causing it to explode into a million pieces. Training against the environment was a chore more than anything at this point. He needed something more tangible to work with. It was a shame Auber was so weak.
"So tell me, Auber; why'd you come out all this way? Namek is a far drive. I'm sure a head of golden hair isn't reason enough to travel across the galaxy. Either you want something from me, or this is about to become a game of Twenty Questions."

"Knowing him, he is probably already dead." Auber guessed, Mollusc was stubborn and at times a bit arrogant, if this goal really meant that much to him, then it's sure he's going to try to go through with it, keyword being TRY, Kayen is double his power.
The younger Saiyan merely watched as Vocado trained with the environment "So, how has it been lately?" He asked, while he wasn't super concerned about the former king considering he is one of the few Saiyans who have managed to earn the Super Saiyan form, but Auber would think with the way things are going, Vocado took kind of an emotional dip.
"Mostly to try and get some info on the Fleet and if any activities on Namek were done by them, you were a convenience." Auber explained, the Namekian Dragon Balls are active again, he heard, so that means there are going to be all sorts of people trying to get their hands on it, whether for benevolent or malevolent purposes, most likely the latter.

”Tch. At least you’re up-front about it.”
Vocado placed his hand on his hip, and looked to the sky. It was quiet. Peaceful. Unbothered by the tragedies the rest of the galaxy faced. Namek was good at staying out of other planet’s business and just living. Sometimes Vocado wished he’d been born Namekian instead. At least he wouldn’t have to war over a crown.
”There’s nothing going on here. A squid-faced bastard has been skulking around, but he’s alone. The Fleet abandoned him long ago. If he wants to get something done here he’d have to spend years training his body. In other words: even you could beat him.”
The Super Saiyan chuckled, and relinquished his golden glow. His hair fell from its raised spiked self, turning into a calmer, fluffy mess. He was getting close to mastering it like Nashua had, but it was still a ways away. Surely Kayen was working on the same thing.
”So then? What do I gain in return? I’ve given you information, but you left Vegeta soon after I did surely. What information can you give me that I don’t already have?”

Auber hummed in thought as Vocado informed him of a 'squid-faced bastard' "Yeah, I know who you're talking about, they were on Vegeta a while ago, his name is Kraktus, General of the World Trade Fleet, lunatic and in my opinion, a mindless buffoon." He informed Vocado about Kraktus, while the ex-king may not run into the general anytime soon, it didn't mean he wasn't bound to encounter him later.
"As for what you get in return, I could tell you about how an idiotic Dragon attempted to take over Vegeta once again, but you've heard about that one already, haven't you?" It was very probable that Vocado did indeed know about how Fospha tried to hand over Vegeta on a silver platter back to the World Trade Fleet, and died trying to as a matter of fact.
"So, are you planning to try and regain the Kingdom again in the future?" Auber wasn't really planning to tell Kayen if Vocado did tell him that he would challenge her again in the future, because that's something she most definitely knows already, hopefully the ex-king knows it too.

”Kraktus, eh? Sounds familiar.” Vocado thought on it for a few moments, but disregarded it. Whoever Kraktus was before didn’t matter. He was a bottomfeeder now; feasting on the scraps at the edges of planets. If he ever got strong, then hell would have already frozen over twice.
Auber brought up something vaguely interesting in return, though. Something about a Dragon attacking Vegeta. He’d heard whispers and rumors of a desperate attack by the Fleet some few months ago, but he figured it was just that: a rumor. Were they really so feeble that they tried to attack Vegeta so soon already?
”Something like that does ring a bell. Not much of a fighting chance, I presume?”
The Super Saiyan raised his brow at the grunt’s next question. It was something he had been thinking of, yes, but now that he’d had time to rest among the Namekian people, he wasn’t so sure. Attaining the seed of the world-eater was still so clearly the goal he strived for, but its true purpose was starting to seem less proper to the once-king.
”Ask me again next month,” he said with a shrug. ”I’m still trying to figure myself out. No use having a King who questions his own decisions every week.”
Vocado turned, sitting silent for a while. In harsh honesty, Auber never seemed the interesting type. Too focused on the mission. What was his mission, anyway?
”Who would you follow, though?” He turned back to Auber, brow cocked. ”What drives you to fight, I wonder? Is Kayen your true queen? The murderer, the pirate, the brute. Her goal is to conquer and crush. You realize that, right? Is that the kind of Saiyan you are? The kind of Super Saiyan you wish to bend the knee to?”
In truth, that was the kind of Saiyan that Vocado worried he was too. Wanting to wish for a device to suck the life from planet’s wasn’t exactly noble, no matter what lies he told himself.
”Just curious, is all. No harm in answering honestly.”

"Not much of a fighting chance is an understatement, she was massacred by yours truly." Auber stated with as much seriousness in his tone as possible, attempting to give the message that this wasn't a bluff nor a boast, it was simply a fact, and Auber didn't like to feed his own ego, it's simply pathetic in his opinion.
"I see, well then, I'll give you a call next month and ask again." He affirmed, Auber wasn't sure if this could be taken as a joke or simply the sort of deadpan humour, knowing how Vocado is, probably a little bit of both, though Auber, as serious and grumpy as he looked, did have a sense of humour.
Then came a very difficult question to answer, and Auber found himself thinking on it for a while, not capable of giving an immediate response, who would he follow? What drove him to fight? "To be honest, I follow whoever is competent enough to give our people the leadership we wanted recently, in other words, you and Kayen, and before you say anything, yes, I am calling you not only a competent leader but also a good one, after all, someone incompetent wouldn't have been able to give us a fighting chance through the Dragon Balls the first time we came to Namek."
"As for what drives me to fight? At first, it was getting vengeance for the people I held close to me, the people I cared for, people who gave me love and support I thought never existed in a race such as ours, after all, I was only a young boy, full of naivete and optimism, when they invaded, they took said people away from me, took their lives and spit on their memories, I was devastated, my views of the cosmos were upside down, and I sought what naturally came on my mind, vengeance."
Looking back at it now, Auber felt disgusted with himself for letting him stray so far, vengeance could only get you to such lengths before it inevitably backfired on your face, sure, those times living away from the Fleet's law enforcement for literal years would take its toll on him mentally and emotionally, but it still wasn't an excuse, he should have had greater conviction.
"But as time went on, and I was able to meet you, Nashua, Ramen, Kalabas, I realized one thing, this isn't just about me, I was surrounded by comrades who suffered the same pains I suffered, but they carried on, unwilling to let petty vengeance cloud their views, at least from what I saw, they were doing it to build a brighter future, to make sure future generations of families, children who don't have to experience what we did, and I found myself admiring you all for it."
He cracked a genuine smile at the mention of the warriors, they had their annoying moments, he found Nashua's pacifism to be irksome at some points, he disliked how Ramen carried herself, and for the fact he couldn't exactly get a read on her personality, and Kalabas? His case speaks for itself, always so loud and pompous, feeding his ego at every turn.
But their good outweighed their bad, Nashua was pleasant company most of the time even if he would never admit it, he respected Ramen a great deal, not only because she was a human among Saiyans, which the latter commonly looked down on the former, but he also respected her ethics and determination, Kalabas, despite his egocentric vibe, was someone who was genuinely someone you could consider a comrade if you won his trust, he cares for their people as much as the next Saiyan, and Auber considered him a friend.
"So I did something that I should have done much earlier, I let go of it all, yeah, I know that sounds corny but I can't exactly explain it to you in a more technical form, but as I was saying, I gave up fighting for the memories of individual who were dead and buried long ago and instead I started to fight not only for the people around me but to help in the creation and preservation of a world where our people don't have to fear for their lives, they can let their children run free, play without worry, enjoy their youth."
The young Saiyan took a moment to picture that, a life without galactic political stress, a life where you could not only bask in the freedom of your childhood but continue living that life with loved ones, friends, comrades, live a life of fulfillment, it sounded like an imaginary utopia at best.
"That's the thing that drives me to fight, Vocado of House Bonemoon, what is it that drives you to fight?"

Vocado listened to the story with genuine interest, finding a seat on the rubble of one of the boulders he’d destroyed in his training. There was drive in there; a passion for fighting that no Saiyan came without. Auber seemed a good man. Probably a better man than Vocado and Kayen combined.
”So there is a personality behind that silent grunt.” The once-king laughed, and kicked a rock across for Auber to sit opposite him. For a little while, things went quiet, and Vocado simply pondered the question posed to him.
”I don’t think I know anymore.” He’d thought on it for a good few minutes, and that was the best he’d come up with? How very odd. ”I did it for duty at first. Get our home back, destroy the bastards who wronged us, that whole thing... But I’ve done all that. We took our home back. Revived the men and women we lost. Things are good now, and once the Fleet finally decides to go back into hiding, it’ll stay good for decades more... So now what?”
He tried to raise his arm to gesture, but the arm he wanted to use didnt exist. Kayen lopped it off months ago, and yet he stilll sometimes felt it was there. The phantom pain lingered on, and would continue to forever. Such a shame it was.
”I don’t even think I’m really needed to keep the peace. If I left and found some rock to die on, Ramen and Nashua would be more than enough to keep Kayen in line. Hell, I’d argue they’d do better with me gone. I’d be a better motivator as a corpse.”
He was starting to sound like his father. Downtrodden and weary. All he needed was a bottle of liquor and he’d fit right in at the family reunions.
”So I suppose I’m trying to figure it out for now. I could say I fight to protect, but I’ve never been some folk hero. I could say I fight to piss off Kayen, but even that fire’s fizzling out.” The Super Saiyan looked off in the distance, and chuckled. ”Hell, I came here with a wish in mind, but now that I’ve had time to myself I’m starting to realize how foolish that is, too.”
Vocado fell silent again, contemplating his own words.
