"Is there no end to this sandy wasteland!?" Dion had been on the road, well, more like in the sky for what seemed like a week in this western desert landscape. He had flown through several sandstorms, had the sun beat the sweat right out of his body, and gotten some of the worst sunburn on his face and neck that he has ever felt in his life. He had only really himself to blame for such blights, as he himself was ill-equipped for such a trek through unknown territory. The Saiyan bartender had just assumed that just because he was of Saiyan blood and genetics that his body would be used to such extreme conditions, saying something along the lines of, "No weak-ass Earth land is gonna get the best outta me, no sir-!" The poor lad was oh so incorrect in his flawed thinking, and now he had suffered through an entire week of absolute torture through the desert part of the Western Verge. While his Saiyan body did its best to adapt to the alien like environment, it didn't do quite as well as expected, and now Dion was quite literally dying of thirst. He continued to stumble through the sand dunes, he had lost the wanting and determination to fly after his eyes were repeatedly hit by oncoming sandstorms, an incredibly irritated look on his face as he tried to reach for something inside of his Saiyan battle wear. Once Dion finally caught grasp of it and pulled it outward from his armor, you could easily tell it was a map of some sorts- that didn't exactly help the self-made adventurer as it was confusing as all hell to the boy because of the fact that majority of the ink used to write and picture several locations and spots on aforementioned map was worn away. Leaving what looked like a piece of plank wood in the bartenders gloved hands. With a sigh of frustration, Dion threw it to the sandy winds, watching as the piece of parchment slowly made its way out into the distance and became quickly buried in mountains upon mountains of sand. Continuing on his trek, Dion only even chose to continue on such a route because of a certain rumor he had heard quite some time ago while serving as a bartender for a saloon just a few miles off of the desert he chose to journey through. He had heard that there laid in the very desert he stood in a pyramid which had contained legendary riches- which of course were guarded by curses, undead protectors of the treasure, etc etc. It could have all been drunken nonsense, as the man whom he had heard the rumor from was very much smashed by the amount of liquor he had chugged down by then, but the enticing adventure seemed too good to pass up on. Besides, Dion did say he wanted to travel through everything the universe and Earth had to offer to him, and he had never seen a desert before or experienced its rugged terrain so he simply couldn't resist.
Now however, the enthusiasm was very much hither to nonexistent, as Dion was just hoping at this point to find some sign of civilization in the seemingly lifeless desert he had trapped himself in. His eyes continued to cast a critical gaze over his surroundings until he saw what seemed to be a tell tale sign of mankind- a road! The desperate Saiyan quickly dashed over to the paved path, a relieved feeling coming over to him as he saw that at the very end of one of the directions the road spanned in there was a town. Feeling a renewed sense of vigor, Dions aura suddenly burst to life as he flew right on over to the small town, his spirits uplifted and morale restored as he saw that it was also populated by something other than a strange influx of tumbleweeds.
The Saiyan quickly walked into the town after making a soft landing a couple yards out, stumbling into what seemed to be a center as he asked several people where the nearest pub or restaurant was. Once directions were given, Dion quickly made his way over to the saloon, opening the doors with a sense of urgency as he staggered on over to the bar. Dropping a couple of zeni onto the counter, Dion requested two drinks- a cup of water and a mug of their finest brew. He normally didn't drink that much, but he decided he needed something to calm his nerves and restore his sense of serenity after being quite the angered Saiyan for what he assumed was the past week. Once the drinks were served to him, Dion eagerly gulped down the water, his body feeling re energized and hydrated, and once he had downed the mug of beer he had ordered his nerves were calmed and his mind strangely more focused.
Now that he could actually think clearly without immediately becoming pissed off at any small obstruction in his path, Dion began to think about his situation. He couldn't exactly just remain complacent and forget about this whole treasure thing- for one, someone might take it before him if he does ever decide to reopen the case, and two, he didn't want to waste the entire week he spent tracking this thing down. But, as shown again from the aforementioned week spent adrift in sandy waves, Dion couldn't exactly navigate the wastes alone. He had no sense of direction, a disturbing lack of supplies, and he did often times become a bit lonely during that week spent trying to navigate his way through the damned desert. He recognized that he needed someone else; a companion of sorts to keep him motivated and help him on his way.
'However,' Dion thought as he peered over his drink at the multitude of other people around him. 'Doesn't look like there's anyone exactly fit for a long, drawn out journey in the desert around here.'
He continued to sit there in his stool by the counter, looking around at the unsuitable riff raff all around him until his eyes remained on the saloon door. He might as well just wait a bit then, just in case luck decided to grace him with someone suitable to travel along with him. Though he didn't exactly like his odds.
Luckily, fates seemingly smiling on him today, ain't it?

Deserts suck! Sand was irritating, too. Coarse, rough...nope, she was staying the heck away from that! Suri was just passing through, not bothering to land or fly near the desert. Why did she even come here? It wasn't like there was any place nearby she could stop by and eat something, and heck, even if there was, that's gotta be some place with some pretty impressive food if she was going to bother stopping by in the first place. She really didn't like the heat here, either...it could be a good place to train, though. It was open and empty, perfect for shooting ki blasts randomly, and her not liking the place was actually a good thing when it came to training, she could force herself to stay here, materialize some ice, maybe, see how long she'd last.
'...Oh hey! A town...and it has people.' With her eyes, she could see...a saloon? They sold drinks there, right? She could try alcohol today, maybe. Or just look around. Or food!
The airborne Majin slowly descended, landing right in front of the door. She swung it open, and walked inside.
The first thing she looked for when she got in was a menu. She had failed to see the menu when she visited Patrona's cafe, she wasn't going to make the same mistake again, as minor of one as it may be. Now, was there one?
As Suri walked forward while searching, she noticed a man, looking in her direction. Suri looked left and right. '...Me? No, it can't be...maybe he's just waiting for his friend.' Right. Then, she would pretend she didn't see him. The meek girl made her way to the bar, not making eye contact with said man whatsoever. She took a seat, and her eyes wandered. Now what? Does she order? Who does she ask? The bartender...? She fumbled with her hands, giving the bartender an awkward look.

Quite the contrary, Suri- as Dion had been staring directly in the female Majins direction as soon as she had flipped open the saloon doors. One, because he had been staring there anyways, and two, she interested him greatly. The bartender never really had a one on one encounter with anyone of the Majin race until now. Before this, he had only rumors and the strange story or two from Planet Vegeta, and now finally he was getting to see one in person. Knowing that such actions were rude and a bit creepy, the Saiyan male tried his hardest not to stare in her general direction too long, not wanting to attract any negative attention to either of them. Thankfully, the girl had taken a seat that was near him, and Dion simply "admired her from afar" like some cheesy romance novel protagonist. He needed to wait for a natural way to insert himself into the situation, as just barging in and asking her whether or not she wanted to go on an adventure would most definitely scare her off immediately. Not that he underestimated her or her will just from looking at her, but...yeah he was doing just that. Dion, after years upon years of being a bartender, had gained this little intuition skill where he could usually tell the base traits of a person upon first laying eyes on them. Not that it worked 100% of the time, but it was helpful to have in situations like these where he needed to tell whether or not taking the time out of his day to go and try to recruit this person was worth it. From the looks of it, the girl seemed pretty alright. Especially since Dion doubted he'd find anyone else that he'd be willing to partner up with. He could also see that she seemed a bit unsure of as to what to do, which was more so easier to figure out as no one in their right mind walks into any bar, pub, saloon, etc and just simply dead stares into the bartender like a lost puppy like this girl was doing. In fact, Dion found it quite amusing, and he had to stifle a small chuckle as he closed the distance between him and her.
Sitting on the stool next to the lost Majin, Dion raised up two fingers as he said, "Two root beers for me and my lady friend here-! Sorry for the wait." After swiftly inserting him into this persons life, which sounds way more intrusive than it's supposed to be, the male Saiyan bartender looked over at Suri with a comforting expression, saying in a friendly tone as he extended his hand outward to shake her own, "Sorry if that was a bit abrupt of me- normally I'm much more organized when it comes to introductions, but you looked like a sitting duck there so I thought I'd step in and help out a bit. The names Dion, and I've got a bit of a proposition for ya if you're interested!"

As she actively averted her eyes from the man, Suri didn't find out if he was looking at her at that moment. That wasn't her main concern, anyway.
Suri had never been to a bar before. Maybe she has had alcohol before, or maybe she hasn't. Her memory of that was blurry, to say the least. So, not only did she have absolutely no idea what to get, she had no idea how to order, either. And with the nervousness that came naturally to her from being new to anything, Suri was now 'frozen' in this middle of the desert-saloon.
And then, Suri heard someone sit down next to her, it was that man from just now! He...ordered for her. Was her cluelessness that apparant? That was embarrassing...
Looking at him from up close for the first time, he looked...familiar. Had she seen him before? She didn't remember his face very clearly. This was probably because she was focused on something else, or she just didn't get an opportunity to actually look at him properly, but...that was yesterday, Suri. Come on.
Oh, he offered a handshake. Suri's automatic response was to shake it, not wanting to be rude and leave him hanging. The man's friendly attitude broke down the guard that Suri was putting up. With her nervousness fading a bit, she offered a grin, saying "No, no...thank you, actually. Eheheh, it must be obvious that this is my first time...drinking at a bar."
He introduced himself as Dion, and out of the blue, said he had a suggestion of sorts. The blue Majin would tell him her own name without thinking much about it. She did have a fake name, but Dion seemed nice enough, and also, not trying to murder her or anything. It was reserved for people she didn't trust with her real name. "Suri. Uhm...'proposition'? What is it...?" Did he want to sit together? That wouldn't be a very hard thing to do. Or maybe he was hiring people for jobs, or something. She did gain a substantial amount of Zeni from helping the mysterious masked snake whisperer, Fenrir some time ago, but more of it wouldn't hurt...

A satisfied smile was set onto the Saiyans face as he saw that his well timed greeting had not at all gone to waste. Suri seemed like a person he could actually feel decently comfortable around if he were to bring her along into this strange adventure he had planned for them both. She acted pretty darn nice despite the fact that he had just barged in so suddenly, and was very well mannered even considering aforementioned facts stated. Suri was decently near his age as well, and thus would make it much easier to spark up relatable conversation when the more bland moments of travel eventually hit them hard. Plus, it would also be an excellent opportunity to learn more about the Majin race. As said before, all he had about her race was stories and little snippets of information and rumor that really conflicted and contradicted with each other on a daily basis. Now he can finally clear up any and all misconceptions he had about the Majins as a whole. As all these thoughts came to mind, Dion turned to look over at the bartender as he gave the two their drinks, with the Saiyan male muttering a thank-you as he slipped him a tip.
The Saiyan bartender raised his glass to Suri before taking a deep drink, letting out a satisfied sigh as he placed the mug of root beer back down again. Reason why he avoided anything with alcohol was because he didn't want to make it look like he was making her drunk on purpose for more devious reasons, which of course would make the both of them look bad and place them in a very inadequate situation, and two, because it would be much harder trying to convince her to come along if he were a non-sobered up mess.
"Don't feel too bad about it butter cup," Dion replied in a bit of a friendly teasing yet also reassuring tone as he noticed she seemed a bit embarrassed over her lack of knowledge of what to do when in a bar setting. "I'm a bartender myself, so it's pretty easy for me to read when a patron of mine or anyone elses for that matter needs a little help along their way. Don't sweat it." He then raised his glass of root beer to his lips and took another sip in order to hydrate himself a bit more before addressing his plan to Suri.
Moving so that his body was facing Suri and his right elbow was helping to hold his face up by letting it to lean on his hand, Dion then began to talk about his plan, saying, "So, I know what you're probably thinking- one, the hells a Saiyan doing as a bartender? That's a story best saved for later. Secondly, my business proposition of sorts goes a little something like this. I heard from a little tweety bird that somewhere hidden in this desert is a pyramid of epic proportions, which holds inside of it riches that go beyond comprehension. But of course, there're several problems for me to get through first. First off, the pyramid is apparently heavily guarded by ancient Egyptian guardians or something like that, and even though I am a Saiyan there's still the risk of the origin of such defenses being otherworldly, and thus of course means that this could actually pose a bit of a threat to my wellbeing. Secondly, it does get a bit lonely out there in the wastes- hell, I lasted a week in utter solitude lost out there and only just found this little town here. Seriously. I was hallucinating a day before today!"
Clearing his throat before he continued, Dion said with a hint of desperation in his voice, "I think you can see where I'm going with this, miss. I'm asking you, Suri, humbly, if you'd travel with me on this adventure of sorts. I'd love the company, and it sounds like it'll pay well for the both of us." Thinking for moment, the silver-tongued bartender also added, "But I'm not forcing ya to join me, no, not at all. In fact, I can see why'd you refuse. Though it would be incredibly lovely to have someone like you to just simply even talk to on the way."

Suri PL: 16,000
Earth is a planet with countless races, Saiyans being one of them, and Majin being another. Being adopted and raised on Earth, Suri has seen a lot of Earthling Saiyans in her life. On the street, at school, heck, maybe there were some among her distant relatives, maybe someone was married to a Saiyan, who knows. They were Human-type Earthlings, and Saiyans blended in with them well, so that may be the reason why she didn't notice. Majin were another race that had been intergrated into Earth society a long time ago, so they weren't rare per se, but a while ago, Suri realized and began to understand that they weren't too common either. Some Majin were happy to see her, that feeling usually being mutual, and some of the non-Majin were curious about her Majin-ness, which Suri wasn't bothered by at all! She was happy to talk about it, and answer any questions that she could. She didn't hate the feeling of being seen as unique and special, compared to the alternative, at least....
Ah, their drinks were here, and Dion was quick to pay. "Thank you..." Suri muttered as well, but this thank-you was directed toward Dion also. Suri followed Dion's motion, raising her own glass awkwardly. And then she tried a few sips herself. It tasted weird, but it was alright, she supposed. She wasn't a drunk mess yet, maybe she wasn't a total lightweight, she thought to herself. She was oblivious, to the fact that this root beer didn't have any alcohol in it, and to the possibility of any 'devious intentions'. I mean, come on, what would anyone want from getting a girl like her drunk?
'Butter cup'...? She was more gum than butter, though.
So, Dion was a bartender, and he had experience with the inexperienced... "Alright, then..." She grinned, it was relieving to know that he was understanding. Suri then lifted her beer, and gulped the entire thing down, before not-so-gently placing the empty glass down, and letting out a long sigh of relief. "Haaaaah........." Suri was mimicing scenes that usually played out in movies and dramas.
"...Hm?" Suri tilted her head, finding his first comment a bit odd. Was there some kind of prejudice against Saiyans being bartenders? What if there was something like that, for Majin as well? That was troubling... Suri wanted to find a job for herself, something she would enjoy and be passionate about, but if people had issues with her for having that job, she might have...issues with that herself. 'A story best saved for later' he said, so Suri complied by not questioning him further.
Anyway, Dion revealed his proposition to Suri, to help him on an adventure, more or less. The Majin laid her chin on her hand, thinking. A pyramid in the desert, guarded by guardians of some kind, which could be a threat to even ki-users? And...the desert itself didn't do any service to anyone's sanity if they travelled alone. Dion really already had Suri when he said 'riches' though, the jobless Majin could use as much money as she could get. Her eyes gleamed when she imagined the huge amount of gold, silver, and gems. With all the Zeni she would have afterwards, she could buy training gear, or magic items, and without any help from her dad, heck, she could give back more! Also, now she was motivated to become strong, she wanted to fight off the malcontent of the world, especially one particular Majin.
"I'll join you! Sounds...profitab- err, fun. I hope it's...legal, to blow up these 'guardians' you talked about... I don't know what else I could do against them, if I'm being honest." That wasn't something she considered the last time she went into a temple. She didn't get to, as the person she was with didn't take the time to really persuade her to go with him, and she basically gave in to her worry for that man's safety. Dion, though, was nice enough to do that, and Suri was thankful for it. "I'd love to talk with you on the way, as well. Hmm...so, do you have...any information as to where it is? You said you wandered the desert for a week trying to find it...were you flying?" If he was flying..this was going to be difficult. Unless his flight speed wasn't very fast...?

The Saiyan bartender had to stifle a bit of a chuckle at Suri's imitation of the old "drunken bar goer" Hollywood trope. It amused him that she actually seemingly believed that the root beer he had bought for her actually had any trace or sign of alcohol in it, the girl really was quite the innocent being wasn't she? Dion sat there for a moment, a contemplative look on his face as he suddenly jumped behind the counter. After using his silver tongued ways to calm down the other bartender there and convincing him to allow Dion to use his supplies, the Saiyan looked over at Suri with a wide grin. "Alright miss, since I know you're probably curious about what actual beer tastes like and how it feels to be utterly smashed, allow me to introduce you to the world of actual alcohol then," the experienced bartender so eloquently put it as he began to brew something special up for the female Majin, grabbing a clean glass and mixing several liquids such as beer, whiskey, and wine together while sprinkling in some ingredients he had currently from his own home planet in order to give it a more sweeter taste than usual, since such a newbie to drinking would probably be quite turned off at the sudden and common bitterness any alcoholic drink normally had. In order to calm any suspicion or concerns Suri had, Dion also added quickly onto his last statement, saying in a reassuring tone, "Don't worry angel face, we still have plenty of time for us to go over any questions you have and to get ourselves all well and prepped before going on such a journey. Plus, like I said, I've been out there in the wastes for a week, so I'm not exactly excited to jump back into the dry fray oh so soon." He started to take a liking to giving Suri several pet names, probably only because he found a small amusement in the slight confusion it left the Majin with afterward. His intuition and the couple interactions he's had with her already told him that she was relatively new to this whole adventuring thing as well, and thus wanted to make her accustomed to his company before taking on such a trust based venture. He listened to the girl list a couple questions as he slid over to her the liquor concoction, gesturing for her to try it as he began to go over her concerns.
"As for any other bits and pieces of information I've gathered, can't say I know much more than what's already been said," Dion muttered a bit guiltily as he slowly made his way back over the counter and into his seat, letting his head lean into his hand as his elbow propped it all up on the counter. "I'm not one to pry, so I didn't really inquire anything else than what the patrons had talked about, nor have I been able to dig anything else up using any other resource. As for location..." He patted around his armor for his map, and then remembered he had thrown it into the desert in a fit of frustration and unfocused rage. A sigh left his lips as he then said in an even more guilty tone, with perhaps a hint of sarcasm at the end, "And it seems that I have also lost the map I've been using from a couple miscalculated and idiotic actions. If you do happen to have a map, or if I manage to find another one while browsing for supplies in one of the many civilized establishments here, I'll be sure to show you. And don't worry about the legality of the situation- I made sure the area the place was estimated to be around wasn't part of some nature preservation or historical monument kinda area."
As he went over several more house keeping things in his mind, he made sure to also reassure Suri by clearing up the week long period of time spent in the desert, his explanation being, "I had been flying through the desert for four to five days really, and the rest of the time was spent either trying to find the correct direction to enter said desert in or time wasted on complete tomfoolery due to the utter boredom I was subjected to in such a bland environment, as unprofessional as it sounds."
After that, his eyes glanced over to the drink and then back to the drinker, with the bartender asking, "So, since we're going to be business partners for a little while, and the liquid courage I just poured you should be kicking right about now, why not tell me a bit about yourself? You're in good hands here, I assure you. You can let loose."

"Eh, what..." Suri said, surprised by Dion suddenly jumping over to the bartender side. He was a bartender, but he wasn't the bartender of this bar, was he? And then, somehow, he convinced the bartender already there to let him make a drink for Suri. "Actual beer?" So...this root beer had no alcohol in it? Huh. Though she didn't have a problem with that per se, she had to admit, she was curious as to what alcoholic beer tasted like, especially with how Dion said it. Suri utterly chuckled at 'utterly smashed'. "Well, okay..." she uttered, though Dion was already at work making her drink. He was pouring in multiple bottles of alcohol, and something else, looked fancy enough.
"Ehm..." Okay, 'angel face' she understood. The blue Majin's face gained a slight purple, showing that she was a bit flustered by that nickname. What Dion said next calmed her down, though. "Okay, err...I guess that makes sense, I was barely out there for an hour and I was sick of it already. Preperation...? I guess, gear and stuff? Oh, and water...I'll handle water." Or maybe she could prepare some...beer? Was this even 'beer' anymore? It was sort of a combination of multiple things, with wine, and something else she didn't recognize.
Speaking of, Dion finished making beer(?) pretty quickly! Suri would gulp it down like water while listening to Dion's answers to her questions.
"Hmm, hmm." Suri nodded as Dion shared more of his information, or lack there of. "Must not be very well known... Thankfully, that means that someone couldn't have arrived before us." Hopefully, anyway. "And you lost the map too, huh... I wasn't here for very long, nor was I planning to, so...no map either. And...Right. You came prepared."
Suri chugged more of her drink down, her eyes widening after hearing Dion explain why he spent such a long time in the desert. "Four to five...wow...I guess that makes sense, though. Travelling through is different from navigating. The boredom too...what did you do to combat boredom?"
Dion then asked Suri to tell him a bit about herself. "Liquid courage...?" The drinker looked at her drink as well, then back at the man in front of her. "...Oh. Oh yeah! This is supposed to make me braver, or something? In the movies, people do some crazy stuff after drinking a lot." Though, Suri didn't really feel different from before. The drink kind of sweet, though, and Suri liked sweet things. Also, it was cool, as in, low temperature. Not only did Suri like cold things, she was also in a hot place, so it was pretty good right about now.
"Well, uhm...not sure where to start, really. I'm a pretty normal girl, just outta highschool. No job...I wish I had one, like you do. I'm currently sort of wandering, travelling the world, trying to find myself, figure out what I want to do in the future." Or, she was. Guilt briefly washed over her face. Recently, she hadn't been doing much of that. "Eheh...and trying good food on the way home. Also, uh, ki and magic user, so you won't have to carry me around when we go." Suri said, clarifying in case Dion hadn't realized that yet. "Today's the same, I came here by wandering. I wasn't planning on staying, but...I was kind of inclined to try this stuff." Suri lifted up her drink as she said this, then she decided to gulp some more down.
"Ahhhhhhhh."

The young man had to stifle another laugh as Suri continued to put on the facade of drunkenness- with her heaving an exasperated sigh after taking another long swig of her drink. Dion knew, again, hither to nothing of Majin biology, and thus couldn’t come up with any solid reasoning as to why she wouldn’t at all be affected by the high concentration of alcohol in the drink that he handed over to her. I mean, it was a super mix- a potluck in drink form of sorts, containing wine, beer, malt liquor; basically anything he thought would be flavorful enough for the bubblegum made up girl, and with that also had the combined alcohol make up of the drinks he used. Most people that he served, such as back on Planet Vegeta in his small town pub, would be, as he so eloquently put it, “utterly smashed”. Yet here Suri was, a literal first time drinker, unaffected by the normally intoxicating concoction. It actually impressed the experienced bartender quite a bit. He also was incredibly amused by the fact that she continued to try and keep up the atmosphere of her actually being drunk, which to him was actually pretty darn accurate to how actual drunk people act. Offering to take Suris drink as Dion saw that it was nearly emptied, and eventually taking it if given permission to, he began to speak once more- saying in an amused tone, “Y’know Gumdrop, you do a pretty good impression of a drunk girl. Sad to see that you’ll probably never know the real deal though if you weren’t even feeling the slightest bit under the influence after that little drink there.” Going to refill her glass, his mind turned from the trivial yet quite entertaining small talk to the topic of supplies, navigation, total run-time; yknow, the things adventurers would normally worry about. Not that these two were exactly experts in the genre. Before he refilled her glass completely, the bartender took a small capsule looking container out from within his armor- something that he used to KO a troublesome drinker on a day where he couldn’t be bothered to end their behavior with fisticuffs. He opened it, tapping in two or three drops of the liquid inside of the cup before completely refilling it. If questioned what he was doing, he’d reply in an innocent tone, saying in an honest voice, “I’m just adding a bit of kick to your drink- I wanna see how far your metabolism or whatever can take your alcohol resistance. This liquid is the kind of stuff that would knock out a full grown battle hardened Saiyan, and I’m pretty interested to see if you can keep your bearings against this little diddy of mine.” If still suspicious feelings toward him were held, he’d add on quickly with a reassuring tone, “If it DOES end up being too much, I promise I won’t do anything suspect. I’ll simply help you to a lodging of sorts, rent you out a room, and wait for ya until you wake up. Swear on my life.” When the topic of supplies finally rolled around, he looked around as he slid the now refilled glass back toward Suri, Dion said to her, “I think I spotted one or two supply shops of the sort as I flew in here in my thirst-desperate craze. Though that may have been just me hallucinating as aforementioned craze kind of made me focus on my singular goal of getting some sort of drink- and so I wasn’t really trying to find anywhere I could resupply. I’m pretty sure they’re bound to have a GPS or something as well- so I can finally upgrade from using a map whose ink has all been but dried and scratched away from the constant sand storming to an actual modern device I can use consistently without the fear of it dying on me.”
As Suri began and quickly ended her small origin story, Dions interest perked up a bit. He found it quite interesting, the parallels he could draw between her story and his story anyways. Both were people in their younger ages looking for something worthwhile in their lives- with a couple key differences being Dion simply did his out of the wanting to break the monotony of his everyday life and Suri doing so because she wasn’t at all sure what she’d do if she didn’t. A concerned look came upon his face- without a constant source of income keeping her afloat Suri would probably find it hard to support herself during this adventuring lifestyle of hers that proved to be a hit or miss when it came to be being lucrative or not. Being true to his friendly and helpful nature, Dion offered Suri a bit of advice and also perhaps even another proposition, saying, “You know, if you really do need some place to work for even just a little while, I could probably help you out a bit if you’d like. I’ve got some connections because of my job and it would probably be pretty damn easy for me to hook you up with something if need be. That is if you want to of course. Hell,” and he said this last bit with a small hopeful smile, “You could even travel with me for a bit. I do a bunch of small odd jobs here and there that you could help me out and consequently get paid for. But that’s all up to you.”
He didn’t mean to be at all intrusive or look as though he was taking unwanted pity on the girl- Dion was just genuinely concerned about her financial well-being. Most of it stemming from childhood experience with such things, what with his drunkard father being unable to provide, forcing his mother to be constantly working every single day in order to keep their family afloat. He didn’t want Suri taking the same path his mother had to. Dion actually wanted her, and really anyone else he’s met or will ever meet, to live life to the fullest. For every day to be a new experience to remember!
Not for every day be another hard monotonous grind.
Moving on from that, Dion waved her off a tiny bit when Suri had assured him she was no stranger to Ki usage and all that jazz- with him simply saying in reply, “Yeah, don’t worry Suri, I could tell. I have a bit of a bartenders intuition, yeah? Something tells me you’re pretty tough in your own right.”
With a joking smile he made a small quip, saying, “You remind me of hard candy a tiny bit. Sweet yet quite strong.”
Jumping back over the counter and beside Suri, Dion sat there looking over at her for a bit before asking, “Any other things you’d like to go over before we go off and collect all our things?

Suri handed her glass over when Dion offered to take it. "R...Really? I wasn't really trying... Don't people sometimes go 'ahh' when they drink even non-alcoholic stuff like...water? Cause it's refreshing?" Although Suri wasn't affected by alcohol, she was affected by what Dion said. She hadn't though about it like this, but yes, she would never know the feeling of being drunk. Whether that was something to be sad about, Suri didn't know, but Dion mentioned it as being so, so Suri's expression turned a bit...somber.
"Most of us have bodies that filter that stuff out, and are immune to harmful substances and chemicals. That's probably why..." That was a fact about her species that she was reminded when she met another Majin, and now, again. She tried to think positively about it, usually. "I think that's a good thing, though! Apparantly I can't get sick, or be poisoned." However, that didn't stop her from being worried about those things, as she often forgot the fact that she was built differently from Earthlings.
"What's that?" Suri asked, genuinely curious as to what the strange liquid was. He wanted to test Suri's tolerance? It was more of an immunity, though. She didn't mind, she was just worried that Dion might be disappointed by the result, as it probably wasn't very fun to watch someone be completely unfazed by what you concocted for a living. "Saiyans have good alcohol tolerance...? Well...okay, then. I trust you."
"Thank you." She said when she received her drink again. She drank, placed her glass down, and tilted her head to the right. "Huh." It did taste differently...probably. She tried to rationalize that it did, anyway.
Suri smiled, gave a thumbs up, but that was about it.
"This place was the first thing I saw, so I didn't really notice stores like that." Nor did she care, at the time. Non-adventuring folk had no business with such supplies. "Not to mention, lost... Hm, GPS, and...do we need anything else?"
Suri wasn't as desperate for a job as she should be, perhaps. Her family, whom she was currently living with, was pretty dang wealthy. They never pressured her to get a job, the pressure mostly came from her own guilt for being a freeloader, but even that wasn't a constant. Suri's travels had lost purpose. She was taking it easy, her usual outings involved some food, rather than some kind of useful experience. Dion's offer would catagorize as job experience that she had intended to get from her travels, so..."I have no reason to decline. If it's not too much trouble, I'd gladly accept either way. Hopefully I'm not too bad of a travel buddy...I guess we'll find that out today."
"Bartender's intuition? So it's real..." It was surprising he could just tell like that.
"T-Thank you, er, I mean..." To the bartender's quip, Suri reacted...well, she fake-coughed, averted eye contact, then proceeded to empty her glass. There went the last of her drink. 'Eep- he's over here now! What does he...oh!' "Oh, no, nothing else. Sorry to keep you waiting, let's go." Suri would then stand, waiting for Dion to do the same.
Once outside, Suri would mostly just be following Dion around wherever, as she lacked the knowledge as to what stores sold the supplies they needed.

The idea that any race at all would have such a high resistance to this type of alcoholic drink specifically was quite the shocker to the experienced bartender. I mean, he’s seen people be able to take on quite a many drink without becoming utterly smashed, but to have the innate ability- no, this would have to be called a power, to never at all become under the influence? ‘I mean, it’s unheard of!’ Dion thought as Suri continued to explain how the Majin race is able to filter outta such intoxicating fluids through unspecified means. ‘It’s incredible!’ Seriously, the dude could not get over such a cool ability. However, after she finished her explanation and he began to think a bit more about it, Dion realized that it was more so a double edged sword as well. I mean, you would never know the feeling of having your first glass of booze, malt liquor, whiskey, etc. Suri would truly never know the feeling of being utterly smashed after a couple cups of a cold alcoholic beverage. Hell, if this was something that was in use for her entire race then that meant a whole people didn’t know what the hell alcohol could do for them! That’s insanity!
After, reluctantly brushing off and moving on from that interesting topic, Dion was pleased to see that Suri was quite welcome to the idea of him helping her out a bit when it came to jobs and such. He himself slightly knew how it felt to be unsure of what the hell you were supposed to do in life, since you couldn’t exactly put all your faith into adventuring since as mentioned earlier it was quite the hit or miss most of the time, and if you were a decent person being a freeloader were torture you and guilt you for the rest of your days. So it was good to see Suri was actually quite alright with being his partner for a while, as well as perhaps even open to the idea of him getting her a job of sorts sometime afterward even.
After seeing that Suri was ready to go, Dion followed after her actions- standing up and stretching a bit as he looked over at her to confirm that she was waiting on his whim. After his look at the blue Majin though, something finally clicked in his thick headed mind- and he suddenly realized why she seemed so familiar from the start. He had seen this person before, a couple weeks ago or so to be exact! Suri, the one other Majin besides Bloom that helped him out a bit in calming down that frenzied magician that went on a bit of a rampage for no reason in Central City. After such a realization, Dion stood there for a couple moments- embarrassment suddenly taking the spotlight as the thought hit him that he’s been treating a friend like an utter stranger for the past fifteen or so minutes that they’ve been together. I mean, she literally helped him out against one of the strongest guys he’s ever faced! You’ve gotta treat someone like that with at least a smidgeon of respect and courtesy. But then again, he understood why he couldn’t exactly fully recall her from the start. His brain was still a bit jarred from the five days or so alone in an isolated environment, and it was still reeling from the bit of harm that did to his mental state. Plus, this again was a couple weeks after such an incident, those two things combined with the fact that their interactions were limited to a small introduction and him explaining the situation to her before they had to deal with Bloom and Brent only helped to further his mind being foggy in the recollection of Suri. So he went a bit easy on himself for it.
“Hey, now I know why you’re so familiar,” Dion said in a sheepish tone and with an embarrassed grin on his face as he motioned for her to follow him out. “You’re Suri, the other Majin I had met besides Bloom on that one fateful day where she had decided on terrorizing the city a bit while at the same time pissing off the weird magician dude enough to where he went ahead and attacked me instead of herself.” He managed a flustered chuckle as he made his way out the door.
“Sorry for not remembering ya sooner- though to be fair it is hard to forget someone like you,” Dion said with a wink- using the quip to regain a bit of his confidence. Plus, it was amusing to tease Suri and to get the flustered reaction from her. Not in a mean way, more so how a close friend would really. Moving on from that, the bartender surveyed the rest of the town that laid outside of the saloon- seeing that there was a couple buildings that remained. A general store, a western like pharmacy of sorts, and a makeshift hotel greeted his gaze. Looking over at Suri, he asked, “Well- we’ve got a couple options here thankfully. With what daylight we have left we can probably set off in an hour or two if we pace ourselves at a fast enough speed, and get some early bird progress on this whole expedition- or we can spend the remaining time we have left preparing and then stay for the night here in that hotel right over there. What’ll it be?”
He didn’t really care either way.
Okay, maybe he did want to stay until the next day, most likely because he did just spend five days in the desert and wasn’t looking forward to returning so soon.
But, being the gentleman that he is (plus Dion wanted to pay her back a bit for all the nickname teasing somehow) he decided to leave it up to Suri.
Hopefully she has good instincts.

"...Hm?" Suri had met Dion before? Suri was curious, and paced after Dion to hear him out. "Oh! You were there? Ohh... I-I'm sorry, I forgot we met..." somehow. She wasn't going to say these excuses out loud, but she supposed she was too busy being scared of Bloom, then being scared of a demon person, then being confused by Bloom.
Suri followed him out, her shoulders drooping a little. "You mean 'isn't', ehe..." She couldn't blame him for forgetting her, but she could blame herself for forgetting him. She was good at blaming herself. Suri sighed.
"Pace? Not fly?" Or maybe that was a metaphor. Putting a hand to her chin, she thought about it for a bit. They didn't have to rush it...it would be beneficial to take their time, actually. "Well, whether we have a lot of time or not, I think we should prepare, for sure. You said you were in the desert long enough to hallucinate, too, so...you probably need some rest, Mr. Dion."
"Ah-" With a realization, Suri's eyes opened just a bit wider than it was originally. "I can't stay at the hotel, I have to go home before dinner..." she said rather disappointedly, but she had another realization. Consecutive realizations! Suri lifted her hand with her index finger pointing up. She managed to lift her own spirits too. "Oh, if you're staying at that hotel, though, I can just easily fly back here." She searched for the hotel with her eyes, getting a good look at the small town herself. Suri pointed at the hotel, saying "...So we can meet there, and go on that expedition."

A fact that was made very well known by just the couple of minutes of Dion reacquainting himself with his blue Majin friend was that she was quite the apologetic individual, with her stumbling over her words a tiny bit and consistently giving the bartender an apology over something she wasn't really able to control. He didn't feel bad or insulted that she didn't remember him at all- in fact, he believed she had good reason to not to be perfectly honest. Their priority at their very first meeting was to save Central City from its impending doom at the hands of both Brent the mad magician and Bloom the chaotic neutral, the wildcard fighter. The bartender rolled his eyes slightly with an amused look on his face as his use of figurative language went straight over her head, the girl could use some teachings in social cues and such. As she explained she was expected to be home right before dinner, Dions eyebrows raised slightly in confusion. If Suri needed to go on home decently soon, why would she choose to spend her time exploring a desert of all places? What if she actually got nearly lost as he did, and she had no way of notifying her family of such terrible luck? He shrugged it off as he also let his gaze run over the hotel as hers did.
"Sounds like a plan bubblegum beaut," Dion replied with a small grin as he made his way instead over toward the small collection of buildings that looked to be the small cities shopping center of sorts. "Hey listen- while you may be heading home and there may be some way to get some supplies there, I think it's high time I paid you back for your help with that maniac magician and mystifying Majin all those weeks ago. Tell me, is there anything you need me to grab for you? Candy, water, clothes, you name it- I'll be able to, hopefully, haggle for it if need be. Trust me, I can afford it."

Suri had never had to worry about getting lost, because she had access to a smartphone, and she could fly across the planet in, what, a few minutes?
Bubblegum b... Suri winced at the nicknaming, but she followed Dion without further protest. "...Help?" She questioned if she was even of any help back then. "Well, all three of those things, I can get myself..." Then, Suri cycled through the three objects mentioned, materializing a candy bar, turning it into a water bottle, then into a t-shirt, before it vanished. "...with magic."
"But, I could use help with whatever equipment is needed for the pyramid, like...hmm...errrr..." Suri paused, taking a moment to try to think of something with her rather limited knowledge in the adventuring department. "What do you need for the pyramid? Grappling hooks? No, wait, we can fly... Hard hats?" She put a hand on her chin. Trying her best to think what they would need, but she had no idea...
Suri scratched her head, then turned to the stores. "Well, for now...let's have a look around first in the stores. See what they have? You also need a map, right, Mr. Dion?" She thought it would be better to look around first rather than just standing outside and talking about what to buy.
It was also pretty hot outside, being a desert and all. Hopefully they would have some air conditioning.

An incredibly surprised look came upon the bartenders face as Suri demonstrated her magical manipulative ability, with her making candy appear right out of nowhere, and then her turning it into a water bottle, and then finally shifting it into a t-shirt before the little magic trick display ended. Dion was even more dumbfounded and downright amazed at the Majin race at this point, first they could drink as much booze as they wanted without getting drunk, and now they were all basically warlocks and witches under the guise of simple bubblegum skin?! Incredible! It made Dion want to jump up and down like a little boy when his own mother would show him even the simplest of Ki tricks he at the time could never dream of doing. That's another thing too- this wasn't just some sort of Ki manipulation or slight of hand, this was legitimate hands down magic! The two other people he had known that were capable of such feats were Caesar, and the mad magician Shemorash, or Brent, or whatever the hell he said his name was- his memory was still a bit blurry. Caesar had been in contact with people who had extensive experience in magic, and even then they also had to work quite hard to even have any sort of ability in such a skill, and Brent seemed to ooze with demonic energy- so that really explained most of how he was able to bend such forces to his will. But, a whole race being able to use magic at their own whim? Unfathomable. This raised numerous questions for the male, such as; Do all Majins have such affinities to magical manipulation? Was it something you needed to train or was just something they could all do straight from the womb, or, wherever the hell they came from (Another question for later, perhaps during their travels). Are certain individuals ability in the skill determined by gender, color, hair style, etc? It was quite an interesting topic, and Dion made sure to remember to ask her extensively about it later, or while they're shopping. Either or. It still was quite impressive how she could so easily do such a feat, as if it was second nature to her. Him being Saiyan, he didn't have much experience with magic at all, and his experience mostly focused around fist to face feats instead of making things appear out of thin air. Snapping himself back to reality, Dion began to walk over toward the square in order to get a good look at their selection, rolling his eyes at Suris mutterings, murmerings, and suggestions of what they should go and get since Suri could supply the majority of whatever they need.
"Alrighty lass, first off, no need for such formality," the laidback bartender mentioned as he began to lead her toward a general goods store to the right of the square. "No need for any titles like 'Mr.' or 'Sir' or anything like that, alright? Hell, looking at you-" Dion took a quick look up and down of Suri, not wanting his gaze to linger too long since he really didn't need to be labeled as a pervert his first time working with the girl, and after he then continued, saying, "You don't seem that much younger than me to be honest. You look, lets see, a year or two younger? I'm twenty-one, so, let me know if I'm far off the mark or not. You're Majin, and I don't know jack about your race anyways so how would I know how age works with you guys?"
"Secondly," the male Saiyan began as he walked into the general goods store, waving a hello to the person at the checkout as he made his way deeper into the store. "Yes, while a map might be good, I'd prefer to have something a bit more modern, you feel me-? Like a GPS or something like that, since those things last way longer than a flimsy map, and it'll keep us on track no matter where we go."
"Are you sure you don't want anything, sweetheart? Just wanna make sure both of us are all set for this long journey."
