CARRO'S PL: 50
"ECHOOO!" As expected, Carro's voice resounded off the lonely streets like a bell's rebounding tolls. "...Neat."
Carro was intrigued by the whispers he'd heard of this lost city. The toxic gas surrounding the ruins would have easily taken out the weakling saiyan, if not for the glassy helmet propped atop his head, tinted a faded green. He had a space-suit stored in LEO in case any emergency mid-travel repairs were needed, but the filteration systems it fended off the smog here, as thin as it was. Most higher-powered fighters would be able to brush off the gas's effects for a few hours, but Carro wasn't one of those fighters.
The two iron gates in front of him dangled open by half-broken hinges. Beyond it were tottering piles of dead and broken vehicles, robots, and battered devices galore. It seemed anything of any value had been stripped away- only the rusting carcasses remained, heaped one on top of the other, waiting to be fed into a now lifeless crusher. The wind passes almost unhindered, passing down the empty streets like a freight train behind Carro. He gazed upwards at the ruined spires of buildings, piercing through the murky, violet smog above The crumbled buildings still stood as concrete giants, tilted as if they were going to finally give way and crumble to dust. Any wooden structures were gone, rotted by the deathly miasma that was reclaiming the once sprawling city.
The prospect of ancient, advanced tech waiting to be found and studied had quickly drawn the saiyan to it's depths. His gloved hands traced the wall of what he assumed was a security outpost beside the junkyard. Dust fluttered off the gray walls, but the rotted concrete's natural color wasn't very different. "Alright, I think this is a good spot..." The saiyan muttered to himself, crouching down after approaching some of the battered machinery.
He'd pried away at some of their panels to see if anything of value was inside the rusted husks, but the majority were already looted. The saiyan had uncovered a partially-ripped instruction booklet of the sort, though the language it was written in was incomprehensible. He'd gathered some sparse salvaged gears, wiring, and hard-drives in a small pile nearby, but the city had given more questions than answers so far.
The technology, as ruined as it was, was advanced for the standards of the past millenia. To imagine what else the now lost populace would have made if they hadn't gone extinct was both boggling and intriguing! But now it seemed he was the only soul in miles. A little odd, considering a few civilians had warned him about the rumors of ghosts, beasts, hooligans, and other unsavory types lurking in the ghost city. Somehow, the total silence was just as unnerving.
Carro folded his lanky arms, slumping against a decayed car that was stripped of it's wheels... Now that he was thinking about it, it was always around this time that he'd usually stumble across something else in these instances where he was alone...
