Cho put the last of his clothes in the suitcase. Originally, he didn't have clothes, beyond the simple unitard he found himself in when he first woke up. It was drab, and clung to his skin in a way he didn't enjoy, probably because of the liquid he was stuck in. Now, though, he had nice, simple clothes that looked good and felt much better-- though the unitard, now washed, was much better to move around in. He wore that when training with Chyps, Salsa and Ocarin. It brought back more feral memories of hunting in the wild, before he knew the kindness and discipline of Earthlings and the Namekian. That kindness felt nice though, Cho thought. It was something to be sought and maybe given, at least so he could receive more of it. His family could not truly explain kindness, at least to Cho's scientific satisfaction, so he decided he simply needed to experience more of it. He needed to experience more of life. The first step, he decided, was to visit the planet Namek.
The Namekian, Ocarin, the technical head of the dojo (though Chyps and Salsa seemed to be much more invested in things like teaching the students, doing paperwork, and keeping the place clean) was to head off there soon. He mentioned the place, the way his father saw it, was making great strides in peace and kindness after a rocky era of war. Now that it was finally open to trade and travel again, Ocarin wanted to see his home planet at least once, even if his father would not be around to see it. Cho had overheard this, and wanted to travel along with Ocarin. Though he didn't know the alien as well as Chyps or spend as much time with him as Salsa, Cho wanted to do more exploring. Chyps didn't really like it when he was out and about without a chaperone, and certainly didn't want him out of the city unattended. Ocarin seemed to take a much more lax approach, and would probably let Cho roam the apparently idyllic ajisa fields or small towns alone. As much as Cho appreciated the kindness and all the questions he had being answered, he wanted some freedom. A tiny part of him really enjoyed those first few days.
"Cho, we're gonna head out soon. Are you finished packing?" Chyps asked, suddenly standing behind Cho. He needed to work on his ki sensing, Cho wasn't the best at it despite the efforts of the dojo. "I'm." Cho responded, before catching himself. "I am, I mean. I still don't understand why 'I'm' doesn't work on its own..."
After zipping up his suitcase and dragging it out to the main room, Cho was greeted with everyone all together, Ocarin also having a carry-on and a suitcase. Chyps was giving his adoptive father a long hug, while Salsa had a small smile on her face. "Be safe, dad. If anything happens, we can wire you some Zeni and get you a ride back here immediately, both of you." Chyps explained, turning over to Cho. "Now, did you pack your special shampoo? I don't think they're gonna sell that on Namek, so I got you a second bottle. Did you grab it?"
"Yes, thank you Chyps." Cho nodded, before having an important thought. "Would it be okay if I returned early, without Ocarin?"
"Getting cold feet already?" Asked Salsa, shooting a curious look to the bio-android. Cho shook his head and reassured her he was just curious, so Chyps pondered it for a moment and turned to the adults in the room. Salsa just shrugged, but Ocarin nodded, so Chyps finally gave in.
"Alright, sure. But call us first, let us know the flight and time you're getting off at so we can pick you up, oh, and make sure you do whatever the guys with the shirts that say 'security' tell you too, and--"
"I'm sure it'll be fine honey." Salsa interjected. "There's no shortage of strong warriors to protect Cho... or not to."
The room grew silent for a moment, and Cho wasn't really sure what happened there, but if him being strong was the issue at hand...
"Do we have time for one more training session, before I leave?" Cho asked. That seemed to break everyone out of their funk. Ocarin simply shook his head, while Salsa face-palmed and Chyps stared blankly at his student. They all had a bit of a smile on their face at the least, that made Cho feel good. "It's still about an hour and a half before boarding. If you guys flew, we could probably squeeze in a quick fight."
"I'd much rather take the hovertaxi. How about just a simple, five minute training exercise." Ocarin asked, though it was more of a statement. Cho and Chyps silently agreed not to start a fight with him, and went with the easier solution of agreeing to something quick. Cho gingerly removed his shirt while Chyps thought of which exercise to do. Something quick, that would require too much intense legwork so Cho's nice new pants didn't get destroyed. Chyps decided on a nice, classic exercise for a master to put their student through.
"Alright then Cho. Hit me. That's the exercise, just land one blow on me. I won't even attack back." Chyps said, a cheesy grin on his face. The other two members of the Dojo groaned in annoyance at the obvious, trite trope. Cho on the other hand was just confused. He had hit Chyps plenty of times, why would doing so without even taking a blow back help him train? Still, Cho went along with it, stretching out and rolling his shoulders in the standard, pre-exercise routine to make sure nothing got strained or torn. Not that he was sure anything of his could get strained or torn, he was told he wasn't exactly like the rest of the people on Earth and could gather as much from a cursory glance at its residents. Still, better to err on the safe side. "Whenever you're ready, buddy."
Cho rocketed at Chyps as fast as he could, straining the well-worn wooden floor he bounded off of as he went. A simple punch would be fine, no stipulations were made on how or where the strike had to be so clocking Chyps in his center of mass made the most sense. Though the fox man was surprised to see Cho go all out in an instant, he was still the master here, and caught Cho's fist before it even got that close. Cho responded by launching a series of attacks-- a fist towards the face, dodged simply by tilting to the side-- then a leg sweep, avoided by jumping up and out of Cho's line of sight, all the way behind him. Cho instinctively responded to an enemy leaping out of his range with a ki blast, but Chyps caught it and extinguished the orb of pale blue light. "Cho! No explosions in the dojo."
Cho apologized, but didn't let up on his assault, jumping back into Chyps face and attempting to pummel him with a rush of punches. None of the fists hit their target, but Cho had been working on something special, learning how his unique biology could be better put to use, and he had a good idea as to how one of his special powers could help him out here. He threw one final punch at Chyps' head. knowing that he'd lackadaisically move it aside for effect instead of truly dodging, Cho gathered some of his nanites up, and formed a small blade to barely catch the skin of Chyps' cheek. When his strike 'missed' he felt something catch on the small edge and withdrew his fist, satisfied.
"I win." Cho said, walking off the mats and over to where he set his shirt and vest. Chyps, Salsa, and Ocarin were all confused for a moment, before Chyps suddenly felt something warm on his cheek. A drop of blood...
"...Hm, alright. Fair enough, Cho. But don't think that trick's gonna work again when you get back, okay?" Chyps said, a small grin on his face. Once Cho had all of his clothes on, the fox patted him on the back, and he and Salsa saw Cho and Ocarin out, where they'd grab a taxi, and eventually head to planet Namek, where Cho's story really begins...
