"The Golden Rose" Public Park on 32nd Street
“It's such a beautiful day today.”
Cobalt thought to himself as he returned to his park bench.
It was around 8 A.M. and the local birds were filling the park with their magical and serene tunes.
He thought this would be a great time to finally do some more field work outside. He was sitting in his normal spot, trying his hand at sketching the amazing scene in front of him. He was staring quite intensely at a tall oak tree. He had hoped to catch some glimpses of a few squirrels, but none were in sight.
“Huh... I guess they're at a different tree today...Hey Willow? Are you there?”
The disembodied voice inside of Cobalt's head spoke up. (“Of course I am. It's not like I can walk away or anything.”)
"I was just making sure. Have you spotted any squirrels today?"
(“Nope! But I've seen a couple of grasshoppers. I know how you like them, so I made sure to take a few pictures of them. I don't quite know how you missed them. We literally look through the same lenses.”)
“You know I get distracted easily…” Responded the android, who was currently getting a tad bit frustrated at his drawing skills, or lack thereof.
(“You're doing fine, Cobalt. Valerie's lessons have really helped you out.”)
“Yeah, they have. But I still think I can do a whole lot better. Do you think that maybe Miss Valerie could come by again today?”
(“It would be out of her normal schedule to do so. So, I don't think she will.”)
“Darn. Well, I guess we'll just sit here for today. I'm kinda getting bored though...maybe we can stop by the electronics store later?”
(“I'll set an alarm for around noon.”)
“Thank you, Willow.”
The brunet kept on with his work, halfway hoping something interesting would come along...
Or at least maybe a squirrel or two.
