Jinn’s PL: 5,000 Stella’s PL: 5,000
With a pleased huff, Jinn finished taping up the last of the help wanted signs. His casino was in need of a new bartender. The old one had retired with a rather generous retirement plan that Jinn had put into place for him. He would want for nothing for the rest of his days. Still, it left Jinn with the problem of seeking new talent to fill up the bar. Stella thought his idea of putting up wanted ads all over town was a little… pointless. She was doing some advertising with the internet for him. She called it a divide and conquer tactic, but she couldn’t fool Jinn. The internet was for streaming anime and watching videos. At least primarily. You could do work stuff on it, but who would want to? Seemed like an awful waste. Swishing his tail back and forth, Jinn nodded to himself and headed back into his casino, the Black Jackal. A clever pun on Black Jack and himself if he did say so himself. And he did. So there. It was pretty early in the morning, so they weren’t officially open yet. Jinn was the only one present but the front door was unlocked in case any applicants came by. They usually got a crowd by afternoon that stayed well into the evening. Jinn took a seat at the bar, wondering if he would get to play tonight. If they didn’t find a bartender, he would have to substitute in as a replacement. The showmanship wasn’t the problem for Jinn. He just wasn’t particularly good at mixing the drinks. He could magic them up, but he felt like that was almost cheating. “Hrm… I want to play tonight too… the tournament will be so fun…”They were hosting a poker tournament tonight as well. That was bound to bring in an enormous crowd. Jinn wondered if he could keep up. It was then that Stella walked in to see Jinn slumped over the bar looking particularly sad. She almost wanted to giggle with how cute and pathetic he looked. Well, even if they didn’t get a bartender tonight, she could try to cheer him up another way. She flipped out her phone and pulled up her contact information for Suri. Stella sent her a quick text about joining her for breakfast or brunch at the Black Jackal and walked over to the mopey Jinn. “And how was our morning?”“A-Ah! Stella! Just fine. I put up the last of the posters. All that’s left to do is hope that someone answers the ad!”

Suri PL: 50,000
Rustle, rustle, the noises filled Suri's room. After getting breakfast and dressing herself up in a presentable state, the Majin was packing her backpack with training gear, ready to head out. Most of her weights were packed, she just needed to put on her gi... 'Brrrrrt-brrrt.' Her phone vibrated. "Huh? A text? Wonder who it's from." Suri didn't get a lot of those. She stopped what she was doing to check the message. It was Stella! Breakfast or brunch at the Black Jackal? Sounded great! Though she had breakfast already, it wasn't like she was ever out of room for more. She exercised so much recently, she could afford to treat herself! No training today, she was gonna relax. She had heard about the Black Jackal, the fancy casino owned by Stella's boss. She didn't own anything fancy, but she could at least make an effort. Suri, instead of her training clothes, picked out a white long-sleeved blouse and a dark blue pair of jeans that fit just right. She had already put on light makeup like usual. Plus her eyebrows. Oh, better not forget her nose. Yep, it was still there. It occasionally sank back in, not last night, though. ~***~ Suri landed next to the Black Jackal. "Phew." She had quickly flown over from the east to the north, it had maybe been a few minutes after she saw the invite. "Oh. I probably should have sent a reply..." It was never too late though. Suri pulled herself to the side and pulled her phone out. i'm here ^^
at the front
can i come in? Suri's eyes then shifted to the building in front of her, and boy, was it intimidating. It was going to be her first time going into a casino. Her mind therefore began to fill with needless worries. What did people eat at a casino? Was there a dress code? Oh no, what if she couldn't get in? Suri began walking in a not-so circle, back and forth, back and forth.

The months have't been kind to Kon since the tournament those months ago. After turning rogue and going Oozaru in the arena, she couldn't help but feel ashamed of herself. She let her desire of winning, her desire of showing how strong she really was take over her. It was almost as if she had become a carbon copy of her mother, the woman that she swore that she couldn't become. Now what? She was once again friendless, sad and nowhere to go. All she was doing now was wondering, city by city and town by town. Her luck at getting jobs have been slim to none, and she couldn't even remember what it was like to live in a home.
Now she was frail, dirty and a shell of her former self. This incident had merely gotten her even more afraid and ashamed of her power. Maybe it was better if she could just do the world a favor and just rid herself of it... it wasn't as if her family would even care anyways. However, despite her desire to do so, something within Kon kept her moving and living. Perhaps it was hope for a better life, as impossible as it might be.
After wandering around town, she had noticed a help wanted sign for a bartender. She gave a sigh of disappointment, just her luck. She was still much underaged and too young to serve as one... However a thought appeared in her head. Perhaps she could try and present herself as someone older. It was a stretch, but Kon was honestly desperate to do so. She just wanted a source of income so she could at least get something over her head and a hot meal for once.
Kon made sure to look at least somewhat presentable, doing her best to wash the grim and dirt off her face and tail in a public bathroom and pulling a worn beanie over her hair to hide the dirty grimy mess. She didn't have much for clothing, aside from a simple tie, blazer and a slacks that she stole from a convince store earlier in the day for this purpose, which were thankfully easier to hide. Dresses were never really her style anyways. While she wasn't happy about the state of her sneakers, they seemed clean enough. Now the hardest part came, trying to pull this off.
Walking through the door of the casino Kon began to feign confidence despite how much she was hoping this wouldn't fail. She had noticed a majin standing outside as well, looking equally presentable. Perhaps also here for the position. "I'm here for the bartender job," she said, deepening her voice a bit to make it appear that she was older. "Are you as well?"

“You know, my guts telling me this probably might be a bust.” ”..ah, to hell with it-“ The Saiyan bartender himself had been wandering the streets of Central City for a bit- as when he wasn’t calming down demonically charged demon magicians and traversing the sandy wastes of deserts he actually did like to have some amount of downtime on his hands. Normally, when Dion did happen upon some free time like this and he wasn’t off using it to train by himself or with hybrid Saiyans with daddy issues or using it to do some charitable work in some pub somewhere, he went grocery shopping or went to go actually drink at a bar or pub for once. Hey, he may be a bartender, but that didn’t mean he didn’t like a good mug of booze once in a while. Problem was, his pockets weren’t exactly the heaviest as of now- and while setting up shop on one of numerous streets of Central City was fun to do time to time, was decently lucrative, and helped him meet a new interesting face or two, Dion really wasn’t the street vendor type. It made him look, as snobby as it may sound, a lot more unprofessional than he would like to present himself as being. Again, nothing against those of whom that do that sort of thing and actually preferred to sell their wares some place where foot traffic is in no shortage at all, but it just didn’t ring well with the Saiyan. It felt disorganized, chaotic, and a lot more rush filled and incredibly hard to follow. Not that he wasn’t used to such things either, what with him being a bartender and all, but without the proper aesthetic and tools an actual bar did give the bartender, it did require a lot more focus and attention to detail. Nonetheless, Dion was ready to fall back on that plan if need be, since right now he really couldn’t find anything that was worth actually trying. He dusted off his Saiyan armor while making his way through Central City, a searching gaze on his face as his eyes drifted and lingered on every building he passed. Last time he was in Central City, things had gone pretty smoothly- met an interesting enough guy after he finished up selling some drinks on a sidewalk corner, and even went on a walk in the park with the dude. Nice guy, Dion wondered where he was now. Maybe he’d go for a walk in the park if his search for a job proved fruitless. Before that, he had been trying help out a mentally mad magician of sorts, and even more before that he had met up with Retasu- who had asked him to help her out with discovering more about her Saiyan side and their races oh so great history. Realizing this, Dion stopped for a moment- a bewildered look on his face as he stood there on the sidewalk.
Why did everything important happen to him here? Hell, the one other note worthy adventure of his, which was the desert journey alongside Suri, still only managed to take place because he had recalled meeting her once beforehand- which just so happened to be, surprise surprise, Central City. A small detail that he found himself enamored with for some odd reason. Waving off, and continuing his walk, he reasoned that it was called Central City for a reason, and it was really slightly his doing for going to the city so much in his free time. Such another thought made him feel quite bland. He really should consider exploring and visiting some of the other cities and places on this planet eventually, since that was the biggest reason why he even chose to move here in the first place. Dion sighed. His frustration only grew with each passing moment that went without any sign of any ways to make some quick cash.
And then, as if fate decided to throw him a bone, Dions eyes came to meet a help wanted poster of sorts on a nearby street pole. Taking it into his hands, a wide grin appeared on his face as he saw that the person in question needed a replacement bartender, as his most recent one did just recently retire. After reading the rest of the info and gaining the location, he immediately bee lined it toward the place. And then halted in his tracks as he realized that, hey, this was a casino dummy- put some effort into your first impression.
So he then instead he made his way back to where his hotel room was- and after making a quick change of wardrobe from his Saiyan armor to more formal wear (of which it being a plain white dress shirt, black dress pants, black dress shoes with his pants being held in place by a white belt with a silver clamp) Dion then made his way to the casino.
Surprised was probably the best word to describe exactly how he felt toward what sight met him as he found himself a couple yards away from the casino. Was that, Suri? After walking a bit closer Dion could definitely confirm that it was indeed Suri pacing in circles right outside of the casino doors. It made sense to him as to why she could possibly be there, as last time they did see each other she had mentioned needing and wanting an actual job to take up. Before he could offer a proper greeting, another girl appeared- who was also definitely there for the position of bartender as well. She seemed quite well mannered, and had also clearly put in the effort into her presentation as well. What also caught the Saiyans eye was that she also had a tail in tandem with his own, which meant this one was definitely a Saiyan, maybe even a hybrid one at that. Seriously, what was with all these hybrid Saiyans? It’s like a half and half bargain sale on this planet when it came to Saiyans.
Making his way toward the two, Dion waved a hello to the both of them. Putting his attention toward Suri first, he greeted her in a friendly tone, saying, “Well if it ain’t my former partner in crime- good to see you again Suri! I trust that you’ve been doing well for yourself? And I assume you’re here for the position of bartender too?” He then turned toward Kon afterward, offering her a warm hello as well as he said, “And it looks like you aren’t alone. Good to meet you, whoever you are! I’m also guessing you’re here for the open spot, right? You sure as hell look the part quite well.”
Dion was quite the charmer.
Or at least he thought himself as one. Whether it was ironic or not, well, the line between that was quite muddled.
After his small greetings and hellos, the bartender looked upward at the casino and let loose a whistle of admiration. Whoever came to own such a fine establishment must be loaded. So he guessed it wasn’t a bust at all.

“Oh, it looks like our guest is here.” Stella commented as she checked her phone. She was excited to introduce Suri to Jinn. She just hoped Jinn didn’t go overboard. Jinn’s ears shot straight up at the news. He stood up, practically bouncing to his feet with all the energy and enthusiasm of a child. Before Stella could even get in a word, he was already at the door. She hurried after him as he threw them open to welcome… Oh. There were a few more people than she thought there would be. There was Suri, of course, but also two rather smartly dressed Saiyans. They must have been here for the job.
“Welcome! Welcome! So happy to have you all. I’m Jinn, the owner of this establishment. Are you here for the bartender position? We are still looking for someone to fill that role.”
Jinn stooped down so that he was closer to eye level with them. Stella stifled a giggle at how ridiculous it looked. Like a puppy dog looking for pets. She turned to Suri and smiled apologetically.
“Hello again, Suri. How nice to see you again. Jinn, this is my friend, Suri. Well, come along inside all of you. No sense in talking outdoors, is there?”
“Oh! Of course! Pardon me, please come in!”
Jinn stepped back and to the side to allow his guests to come inside his nicely air conditioned casino. It was before opening hours, so it was fairly deserted aside from a skeleton crew that was prepping for opening. It took a lot to keep a business like this running smoothly, but Jinn was no stranger to it.
“Take a seat somewhere over by the bar, I’m afraid we need to stay out of the cleaning staff’s way. Stella, can you get some breakfast for our guests?”
He leaned in to whisper in her ear.
“Two of them are Saiyans, so be sure to make double portions. Don’t want them going hungry.”
With a polite nod and wave, Stella hurried to the kitchen in the back to prepare some food for them all. Jinn sat down at the bar off to the side and gestured for the others to do the same.
“So, please, tell me about yourselves!”

There seemed to be a variety of people that had arrived at the job. While Kon had tried to convince herself that she didn't particularly care who any of them were, especially when she knew that looking at them would only make them lose their nerve, a couple had unfortunately found themselves into her mind. The first was a majin which had caused her to freeze, immediately prompting her to shift her head away from the offending person. Even if it still had been six months, looking at any majin was too painful for her. It caused knots to form in her stomach, making her much more nervous than she had ever been before. Still, averting her eyes didn't do much as she quickly landed eyes on a saiyan. Well, she didn't particularly needed a reminder about her past going to this job. Still, it was probably just her fault for being so sensitive to something as simple as their species, instead, she merely just stared forward, making sure not to look at the two offending species behind her.
The person that hired them appeared to be a strange amalgamation of species, something that Kon had never seen before in her life. She knew better to comment about it before, especially when he was the interviewer and potentially her future boss. She had to leave a good impression of course.
However, free breakfast was something that she would never turn down. It was a luxury to Kon at this point to have something as simple as a warm meal, and honestly, she was famished. She simply forgot to get breakfast before coming here due to how nervous she was. Of course, Kon would merely sit down on the bar without saying a word after hearing about this, although there was a certain eagerness in her eye that lit up. One of the unfortunate parts about being part saiyan was her hearty appetite, something that she had been repressing for the longest time. After everyone had gotten settled, Kon was prompted to her host about herself.
It was a simple interview question, but one that Kon honestly didn't know how to answer. She had basic skills, especially since she had been spending the past few months trying to find a job, but these questions had always find its way to stump her, hence the reason why she couldn't find a stable job. "Well, I've been unemployed for quite awhile. I used to be going from job to job, but unfortunately had to resign from most of them because my term ended with them and they had nothing else to do. But, if given a chance for long term jobs, I'm dedicated and a hard worker. I'm also a quick learner so very minimal training is needed." She said, after thinking about it for a few seconds. It was incredibly basic, but honestly, that was all she was able to think about at the moment. Kon might be what she described herself as, but she definitely wasn't great at answering these questions.

The first to speak up was one of the Saiyans. Jinn directed his full attention to her and nodded a few times as she answered his question. So, a lot of temp work. Still, it did seem like she was being honest about being a hard worker. Jinn found something admirable in the simple and steady dedication to hard work. A position as a general laborer would probably suit her better than bartender, but if she wanted to expand her skill set, Jinn would be willing to give her that opportunity. He nodded once more as she finished and took a few notes on a tiny notepad.
“Yes, that’s all well and good, but I want to know about you as a person. I like to know who I’m hiring. If you had to describe yourself in a word or two, what would that word or phrase be?”
Jinn clasped his scaly hands together and leaned in. However, Stella quickly arrived with the first course of breakfast. She set down some plates in front of everyone. Suspiciously, Jinn’s plate was the only one that had something green on it. Also, his bacon had the distinct scent of turkey bacon instead of the real bacon on everyone else’s plates. He knew it! This was some sort of punishment for cheating on the diet that she had assigned him. His ears drooped in defeat as he poked at his food and eyed Kon’s food with an uncanny resemblance to a begging dog.
Stella shot him a look, but Jinn just ignored her. He was too absorbed in how the real bacon smelled and how it glistened in the light. Bacon. He missed it. He also missed chocolate. And other unhealthy snacks. Stella was so mean. Trying to get him to live a long and healthy life! It was overrated! He had made it this far without her help, hadn’t he? Over one hundred might have not been long for a demon, but it was longer than the lifespans of most humans. Despite his mental protests, the best Jinn could do was utter a whimper before stuffing the health food down his throat.
