“This is a Kingdom?”
Stepping up the many marble stairs of a massive citadel, the largest structure on the planet, Sābanto found himself wondering exactly what type of person this “Queen Kayen” was. Fulfilling the last requests of one of the souls met in the Afterlife, the young Shinjin had thought himself coming to Planet Namek through the means of both his Kai Kai and the instructions he’d received from a certain Ogre. It seemed, however, that in his excitement to make it to the world beset with wish orbs – Sābanto found himself instead upon Planet Vegeta’s Surface where he’d met another Shinjin by the name of Kiko.
Lucky enough for him, the young Shinjin had known atleast where to approximately find the Saiyan Queen and as such had pointed him the correct direction. He was certain that after he’d accomplished this task that he’d be on his way to Planet Namek within one of the world’s strange “Space Pods”, devices that traversed the Stars through mechanical and technological means as opposed to his Magical. A barbarous way to travel to be sure, but one that the untalented Shinjin would have to make do with.
As the mystical being completed his ascension up the stairwell, he found it odd that there’d be no guards at the door to greet him. Surely a place of such regal value would warrant better protection than this! Still, he wouldn’t complain verbally as the Shinjin stepped into the mammoth structure. Though wearing a suit, and In disguise as a Konatsian, Sābanto still felt a bit overexposed as he walked through the grandiose hallways. Paintings of former rulers littered the walls as did other ancient and rich looking artifacts – the likes of which caused the Avarice driven Kai to nearly salivate at the potential of lifting these objects from the Royal Family.
Calm yourself Sāba! We’re not here for such paltry baubles…fulfil your mission and head to Namek.
Having to consciously remind himself that there’d be time later to obtain riches, Sābanto continued forward for what felt like eternity until he’d find himself within the antechamber that led to the Throne Room. To his surprise, and worry, there were still a lack of real Guards patrolling the palace! Was there something he wasn’t aware of? Were the Saiyans truly this lax on such thing that they’d place their queen in harms way simply through ignorance? The shinjin figured he’d find out soon enough. Not awaiting a grand reception nor to be announced, Sābanto would step through the massive doors with a large smile on his face.
“Greetings Queen Kayen, Leader of the Saiyan Kingdom and Ruler of Planet Vegeta. I humbly postrate myself before you in the hopes of obtaining the right to speak with you on a subject that I think you’ll find of the utmost importance. I bring word from Planet Namek of an acquaintance of yours, a “Prince Typha”. Do I have permission to approach?”
Sābanto would bow low to the throne, his actions not even awaiting confirmation. Simply; he was here to deliver a message – regardless of what came next? Well…what’s the worse that could happen? He die and end back in his homeland? Oooo. Scary.

Once more Kayen found herself in the throne room, this time however it was thankfully fully by her own choice. Not because some stuffy merchant or noble had made an appointment, but rather because she was once more debating replacing the uncomfortable throne with a recliner or perhaps figuring out some way to allow a switch between the two, that way Ramen could still use the throne since she seemed strangely more attached to the thing than even Kayen was. Of course the logistics of this were a bit… difficult She lacked the usual entourage of unnecessary protectors because today she had sent them off to do some extra training. Since she knew she would be in the palace for the most of the day there was no actual danger for them to protect it from. Her senses were sharp enough to recognize any intrusion worthy of notice and ultimately the guards were the bulk of the people who would have been in danger anyway. It was during her internal debate that she picked up on a extraneous power signature approaching, it wasn’t particularity noteworthy power wise but it WAS making its way through the palace ultimately making its way directly to her. Perhaps a stray guard who had not gotten the message? The Throne room doors were thrown open revealing that was not the case and earning a raised eyebrow from the Queen at the man who stepped into her throne room. Kayen maintained an annoyed glare on the… Shinjin? Konatsian? It was hard to tell, his outfit WAS similar to Kiko’s though so she put her money on Shinjin. The glare ended when the man mentioned he was here with a message from Typha which was… odd… Typha knew her scouter frequency, surely that would be better than sending someone? “Alright you’ve got my attention. Whats up? Also yeah sure whatever approach”

Days of late would find the archivist’s daughter enthralled with a new mystery, one spurred on by a peculiar surname which had snared Tarra’s curiosity like a fish on a hook. There had been something interesting about the somber saiyan she had encountered at Bran’s favorite bar, something that Tarra couldn’t put a finger on at the time. Though now she was certain where to look for an answer, as the girl Xanathrozza had proved impossible to track down after parting ways. The name Guar struck a chord within one’s mind, in a way that mutterings of the clan names of old so often did upon the tongue. There was little doubt in her mind that it was a very old name, possibly of a clan that predated the bloodlines that now laid claim to Vegeta and her soils. Tarra had once more returned to the miles of preserved tomes, scrolls and weathered records. Somewhere inside the depths of her mother’s life’s work would lie an answer dormant, awaiting to be uncovered by her hand as though if by fate. Within the confines of dusty shelves, under a gleam of god rays as the sun shone through a crippled stone rotunda; the daughter sorted through the crown jewels of the archive.
The search had carried on for hours, extensively so that the self-proclaimed inheritor of these halls had failed to mind her surroundings. The archives would be intruded upon, by a moderate sized group whom cared little for the sanctity of the artifacts. Tarra had spied them from the second story, moments after finishing a chapter of a most intriguing and weathered tome. This book she suspected to hold the answers she sought, was inevitably slammed shut at the sudden roars of laughter from below. She had clung to it tightly as watched these careless louts make a mess of her recent attempts of reorganization. These pirates, whom arrogantly sought to play the role of treasure hunters, threw pages about and burned them as though they were nothing more than useless pamphlets. Whom they were had yet to be ascertained, yet why they had come were the source of her suspicions. Whatever financial wealth or gems they would hope to find had long been taken by the World Trade Fleet. Now all that remained were discolored pages many in the capital deemed worthless. Tarra had watched on, seething with rage over the blatant disregard of history, of knowledge, to garner a simple laugh or two at the expense of now lost and destroyed treasures. The rest had been a blur before going black.
The saiyan’s eyes, as weak as they felt, would begin to flutter open nearly an hour later. Tarra could catch the glimpses of marble steps fleeting beneath her own feet, which carried on the air against her own volition. She felt the tight grasps of large hands, both saiyan and alien alike, clasped about her arms as she was restrained and carried. She did nothing to fight nor resist where they were taking her, instead becoming rather curious to what interest she served to them. The group kept a tight formation, which struck her as a bit odd given their obvious nature as pirates. While they dressed up to play the farce, the braided undercuts, menacing stares and black-toothed grins were inescapable from such hearts who wore them all with a buccaneer’s pride. They all jeered over the idea of a reward, whilst their self-appointed leader marched ahead of the troupe, skimming through the depths of the book taken from Tarra.
At the sight of the tome she would grit her teeth, and attempt whatever futile struggle she could muster. The thuggish rogue would chance a glimpse her way, smiling with a chuckle as he caught sight of that fire in her eyes. ”Don’t righ’ly know what y’want wit this. Can barely make a damn word out o’ this crap. Doubt the Cap’n will fancy ye stealin’ her books out her library though!” The tome was slammed shut as a pudgy finger was brought within inches of Tarra’s face to point at her nose. The girl regarded her captor with a narrowed gaze of contempt, before letting a snarky smile spread across her face. ”Ever so often the blind and stupid are left to wonder in awe.” A loud crash of flesh upon flesh rang out, a firm backhand stroking the girl’s cheek to leave its crimson mark in its wake, testament to her captor’s quick temper and shorter patience. Tarra would give a chuckle as she ignored the stinging pain in her face as she was carried further up the citadel’s steps, and into the vestibule before the throne room.
Tarra hung limply in the grasp of the privateer guards, whom waited near the threshold of opened doors as they peered in on a meeting. ”Who’s dat sparkly fellow chattin’ wit da Cap’n!?” she could hear some of the thugs whisper, taunting Tarra’s own intrigue to warrant a glance through a curtain of bangs. It was indistinct through the hair, distance and crowd, yet it was unmistakable that Her Majesty was holding an audience with someone of importance. They had only just arrived to catch the end of the queen’s answer to this robed enigma; an individual that appeared to carry themselves and their mannerisms with an otherworldly grace. Tarra couldn’t help but raise a brow at the sight of such a display of obeisance to formalities. She stood in silence with her whispering captors, speculating what to make of the queen’s mysterious guest as she awaited the inevitable of what was possible to come.

With the permission granted, Sabanto would approach and once again bow low as a sign of regal respect. He had to admit, when he’d been told of a Queen of the Saiyans, he didn’t quite picture a woman as grizzled as the one before him. Typically, in his experience, Queens and such were normally frilly little things that had a penchant for the rich and extravagant, barely wishing to dirty ones own hands. Quite surprising, to the Shinjin, that his normal ideas of royalty were completely invalid in this era. Good information to learn upon ones first visit to the Mortal Coil after years in the Otherworld.
“Ah, thank you for your most gracious understanding Your Majesty.”
Without another word, the Shinjin would steadily approach. His tone was jovial, friendly even, but he did his best to portray some level of somberness in his voice – after all, this wasn’t exactly the best of circumstances for a first-time meeting. With all the brevity of a politician, the Shinjin would express with vested words his exact reason for being here in this moment, blissfully unaware of any and all onlookers therein. Without much hesitation, the Kai described what had brought him here.
“-As I said, I bring word of the Prince Typha of Konats and his journey to Namek. It is my deepest and sincere regret, your Majesty, to inform you that the Prince has left this mortal coil and now resides within the Otherworld among the Heavens above. It seems that his time on Namek was met with difficulty in the form of a young creature known as “monster”? I’m sorry – I don’t have too much more information other then that batch, but I assure you he is in no way in a bad position. Quite the opposite to be honest!”
The Shinjin seemed confident in his presentation, as he explained in great detail everything he’d learned from Typha during their brief but worthwhile visit before he took his path along Snake Way. As the Shinjin continued his explanation, he did his best to explain that though dead – Typha himself seemed none the worse for wear as he’d even been granted some of the privileges of being granted a ‘Heroes Reprieve’. Stepping back from the throne, his Shinjin attire becoming a tad more stifling than he’d recalled previously, Sabanto would once again bow low as he prepared himself for the inevitable departure.
“He also wishes to let you know that you should not worry for him. The Guru of Planet Namek has assured the Warrior Prince that he’ll endeavor to the ends of the universe to use his planet’s…Dragon…Uh…Dragon Spheres? Dragon Orbs? No that’s not right…Dragon…Balls! Dragon Balls, to revive him! Yet, I warn you – Majesty – to not allow the Sage of Namek the ability to just wish the warrior back willy nilly,”
Sabanto felt proud of this next part. It wasn’t every day that he got the opportunity to feel so important to the lesser races.
“For you see, The Prince has been granted the highest of honors! He has gone to traverse the treacherous path of Snake Way – found deep in the heavens of otherworld – to undergo some intense and extremely beneficial training from the Lord of Martial Arts himself; King Kai! I apologize if all of this sounds strange, My Queen, but I assure you of its validity. I would not have travelled all the way from Otherworld just to deliver this simple message if it were any other situation. Now that I have given you this message, I feel free of my Bond. Is there anything you’d like me to tell the Prince on my next visit to my Homeland? Perhaps a positive bit of reinforcement?”
Sabanto smiled as he finished. He felt good, having helped Typha as he had. He’d kept his end of the bargain and even ended up on Planet Vegeta far sooner than he’d desired to originally. With that done, He felt a feeling of accomplishment, better than any he’d felt in a while. Perhaps his place wasn’t truly among his peers – as an attendant – perhaps his place was among the Mortals where his unique capabilities helped him stand apart from the rest of their world.

Kayen maintained a look of indifference to the Shinjin as he spoke giving an annoyingly overblown thanks for her allowing him to approach that nearly had the Queen roll her eye, he sounded like a more practiced version of the weak “elites” she had to deal with, the men too weak to be TRUE elites but who’s families had carried them to the lofty title, they focused on political power over strength. At least however the Shinjin actually had information Kayen was inclined to listen to, whatever Typha had to say HAD to be important if he was sending someone to deliver it rather than just informing him herself. Perhaps Konats was in danger? Their scouternet taken down? It would explain the lack of scouter call to explain the situation. Perhaps issues with that brother of his? No safe way to make a call so he sent a messenger? What Kayen had not expected was that Typha had sent this man because he was DEAD, killed by what the Shinjin referred to as ‘Monster’ the revelation that Typha was dead sparked a sudden shift from indifference to anger from Kayen. Typha was a useful ally and probably roughly speaking a friend. But it seemed that while Typha had fallen it was not necessarily an end for the Konatsian as the Guru was aiming to revive him, she presumed because Typha’s battle with this ‘Monster’ was perhaps in defense of the Namekians? It seemed up Typha’s alley that he would put himself at risk like that. But the Shinjin had a warning against the revival, at least so soon. Apparently Typha had earned some sort of training from beyond the grave? It thoroughly confused Kayen but if it was something Typha was interested in pursuing she could certainly make the effort to let the others on Namek know to give him time, perhaps revive him at a later date if the Dragon Balls were still needed now. “Tell him he’d best get a whole hell of a lot stronger with this training, I don’t want to hear about him getting himself killed again when he DOES get revived.” It was… sort of positive reinforcement? Somehow ALSO blended with a hint of a threat. As she delivered her message to the Shinjin Kayen finally noted a few energy signatures near the entrance to the throne room, she turned to see some of her crew restraining a woman and Kayen groaned in annoyance. It was difficult to break old habits and her crew were still used to bringing people to her directly rather than letting literally anyone else on Vegeta handle this. Maybe just maybe this time it was worth dragging someone up to the palace. “What the hell is this guys?” Kayen questioned looking from her crew to the woman.

The message had been taken with a lack of true empathy. Whomever this Queen Kayen was to Typha, she showed none of the trademark signs of grief or that she even cared that he’d been dispatched from the mortal coil. Curious. Were all Saiyan’s as cold as this one? Having been separated from the galaxy for as long as he’d been – Sabanto wasn’t as up to date on Saiyans and their history having only known what they were about hundreds of years prior. To this day, he was sure that the proud warrior race would’ve eventually understood their place in the galaxy as it’s only form of defense.
It Seems that line of thinking went out years ago. My Brethern would be very interested to know that the gamble they put on the line didn’t pay off…
Bowing low in response to the Queen’s comment about Typha training harder, acknowledged and responded in turn;
“When I find myself back in the universe of the dead I’ll be sure to pass this message along to him. Unfortunately – I’ve no desire to rush back to my home so swiftly. You see, this is the first time in hundreds of years that I’ve been allotted such…freedom. It’s not common for our people to traverse the galaxy and interfere so it is due to that and many other edicts that my kind do not normally travel far from our station. I’m sure a wonderous and well-traveled queen such as yourself could understand my plight.”
Every word uttered, every syllable, was laced with a ‘honey-like’ thickness to it; as if there were something just on the tip of his tone that would warn that he wasn’t like other Kai but just as swiftly force you to want to disregard the thoughts. It was a curious feat that was mastered over years of study to being nothing more than a Servant. A Relegated role that came with it such tremendous boons. The largest one? Being able to traverse the mortal coil for a time. Standing upright once more, Sabanto decided it’d be good to talk about one more thing.
“Though if I’m being honest to my entire intentions – I’d be remiss to inform you that I had no only come to this world in search of delivering a message. Rather – I’m on a quest you see; Ive been tasked to locate and ascertain the source of tremendous surges of Avaricial Energy – Greed – throughout the Galaxy. I sense tremendous amounts of it on this world and am curious; Are the Saiyans – of this era – more inclined for self-profit and desire their own goals? Are you still a Meritocracy? I’m interested to hear how your rule has changed the world around you.”
Sabanto was – of course – a student of history and kingdoms. To that end, he wanted to know more about the Saiyans and their culture so he could better understand how to interact with them in the future. After all, its not that his people were weak – but to come to a capable point where they could even stand against these barbarous creatures? It wasn’t looking likely. So for them, for now, information on their behaviors, habitat, nature would all come into play.

“Hm, yeah” Kayen’s response to Sabanto’s disinterest in returning to the otherworld was short and curt, it might have been easy to assume she was annoyed by his disinterest but that was not the case, she COULD understand not wanting to be trapped at home, it was that exact mindset that had lead her here after all. But thinking about that, about the mess that had been leaving home, brought sour memories to the forefront of her thoughts. Kayen remained mostly quiet as the Shinjin spoke, he had a flowery and overly sweetened way of speaking that Kayen was familiar with, he was far ‘better’ at it than almost anyone else she had encountered but she knew this sort of song and dance, he was the sort that relied on his words to win him what he needed, he spoke carefully to minimize offense and maximize flattery while aiming to avoid being TOO overt. And much as Kayen enjoyed having her ego boosted it was all a little transparent for her tastes, still his interest in the Kingdom seemed genuine enough to warrant continuing the discussion rather than tossing him out so he could get back to exploring and then off to Typha “Maybe you’re just sensing me” Kayen said with a smirk, she had no problems admitting she was perhaps a tad greedy, she didn’t care TOO much for flat wealth, it was useful for other things but it was more her need for power both personal and perceived. The hunger to conquer more worlds so that they belonged to HER, that most drove Kayen’s greed. “I don't actually know what a meritocracy is I’ll be completely honest, but I’m the Queen, sole ruler of this planet, rulership of the Kingdom is generally passed by blood” Kayen smirked a bit at that, as it held a double meaning “either the reigning ruler’s kids will take up the throne when they pass, or someone will stab them and take it first” “The crown had, as far as I’m concerned, passed far too often from parent to child until the Fleet made their move on Vegeta, they let the Saiyans grow weak and passive, so I’ve been.. Fixing that” well perhaps it was fair to add Vocado to that, he might be ‘noble’ but he DID have power enough that he could have been a decent king since much as he claimed to act like a righteous man of peace she KNEW a fire burned in him that wanted war. His only downfall was that she was better.
