PREVENTION IS BETTER THAN THE CURE
CHROMO'S PL: 1,365,520 (105,040 BASE || x13P)
Only a few days had passed since the attack. Stories of the terror that nearly destroyed West City were like something out of a horror movie. Some people claimed the creature responsible was a demonic beast with no sense of good or mercy- a giant, terrifying creature straight out of a horror movie. Others said it was some new alien species attacking the Earth, with West City as it's first target in conquest. Confirmed reports were vague at best, but one thing was very clear. Whatever horrific monster attacked West City was terrifyingly ruthless- and still alive and out there somewhere.
"H-heck!" Chromo yelped. The beetle pulled at his leg, swiftly yanking his limb out of a tangle of bushes behind him. His breaths were heavy, body still bloodied- splotches of dull red outnumbered the pale skin yellow on his torso. One of his eyes had been sealed shut by dried blood that wasn't his own. Using his talons like a pair of crutches to support himself, Chromo growled in strain as he tried to open his wings and take off to the skies. He could only hover a few inches above the ground before collapsing to the forest floor with a yelp- his crumpled wings caved on themselves before he could fly far. His power was mighty, easily sensible for miles around, but Chromo had never felt weaker in his life.
He wished he could take it all back. Maybe he could try and find a time machine or something, just like in Forward to the Past. But if that movie was anything to go off of, would he be erased from existence if he tried that...? Chromo grumbled again, limping forwards through the woods. He'd managed to find a safe place to drop Tarch's unconscious body off at awhile ago, and now was back on his lonesome- except this time, there would be nobody left to look for him in worry.
Chromo wrapped an arm around his torso again. His stomach wound was still fresh, but his namekian genes, as small as they were, were already at hard work trying to seal the wound. That didn't mean it still didn't hurt like heck, though. Hobbling through the woods aimlessly, the claims him being a horror-movie monster didn't seem too far off. His bloody body still dripped with red, neon green mucus frothed from within his mouth. Sharp talons, red eyes, jaws jagged enough to pierce flesh and bone, and a pitiful, puppy-like whimper escaping his throat.
That tree looked familiar. This had to be the way out of the mountain woods!... Or he'd already passed this point a few times. He wasn't sure. His mind felt foggy. He didn't even know where he'd go after this. Chromo shambled forwards with a mumble, only to yowl again as he tripped over the rough ground and scattered rocks at his feet. The beetle tumbled down a hill, skidding beside a small pond with grass stains littering his shell. He shook his head and opened one of his eyes, gaze trailing to the pond from where he lied. Chromo didn't even recognize his own reflection for a second. He never got a good look at himself yet.
The beetle sighed in defeat, rubbing his watery eyes with his slightly less-bloodied claw. He couldn't stop a lone hiccup from escaping his mouth. Maybe laying down for a few minutes wouldn't hurt...

Shiver hovered hesitantly above Mount Paozu, running the energy signature through her mind once again. It was...dark and tainted, uncomfortably comparable to the power she'd felt in West City at an earlier date. The same city currently dealing with the aftermath of a great attack, a beast of some kind that had threatened both the city and its populace. It didn't take much imagination to see how the powerful being she was sensing might be involved, especially when she considered its undeniable power. Normally, she'd have been long gone to the other side of the country, but it wasn't as simple as that this time. The Arcosian hemmed and hawed in midair, flying a brief circle through some clouds as she tried to wrest out what to do. A simple fly by through the area was not supposed to end with her finding an immense power beyond anything she'd ever encountered.
This presence, it was familiar beyond just being connected to recent events. Its specific feel was triggering memories from long ago in the back of her mind, bringing the taste of pizza to her mind of all things. She KNEW this being somehow, or had at least met him once before. It made her very curious about who it was, but curiosity wasn't healthy when dealing with such a mighty being. Judging by the reports, the attacker had been injured in some capacity, and it was still this strong. Her senses couldn't truly confirm that for her, not when she wasn't sure of the original power level. But it wasn't moving very well at least, not even near as quickly as something that powerful could be. Even so Shiver wasn't feeling overly confident about getting close to a creature of this magnitude. Even her true form, which normally cloaked in her a feeling of near invincibility, wouldn't be near enough to protect her.
But she didn't want to run either, not with warm memoirs lurking just out of her minds reach. And the ki didn't feel evil per say, dark yes, but more conflicted than anything else at the moment. Shiver glare down at the mountain, tail swishing anxiously behind her as she considered how utterly stupid this was. Was she really going down there? Yes, yes she was, because she was an Arcosian and she wanted to know who that was. Taking a deep breath, Shiver lowered herself carefully down towards the mountain, gradually drawing closer to the treetops. She kept her focus fixated on the radiating ki, awaiting some kind of hostile action or assault. "Hello!" She called out as she brushed through the branches, trying to keep her view from being blocked off unnecessarily. She wanted to SEE an energy blast coming thank you very much.
There was none of that though thankfully, though she DID hear a faint howl of pain and a loud clatter. Looking in the direction the sound came from, Shiver lowered herself fully to the ground as she gingerly stepped the foliage. "Hello?" She called out again, feeling the closeness of the immense power and spying little drops of blood all along the ground. "Anybody there? I come in peace, I swear." Her gaze lit upon a pool of water beneath a small hill...and a creature resting by it. Her eyes widened as a face finally filtered through her consciousness, though she also noted the obvious differences....

Yanwang tied the ropes to his back as he was dragging a large log across the ground trying to work on his stamina and strength. Training in the moutains had become his new favorite spot because it was hard and the landscape was really nice to look at. Plus he'd doubted many people were up in the moutains since it was so far out. He didn't wanna run into people while he was training. That usually got on his way and he'd lose focus. For most of the day, he really didn't run into anyone just some wild animals. As he walking however he could hear a voice nearby. Yanwang put down the log and sighed. Guess he had to check it out. Considering he could hear a yowl of what sounded like pain he knew it was a good idea.
Yanwang walked over to see an Aroscian along with Chromo. He remembered the bug as he encountered him a few times. Even one time he sprayed him with some bug spray. From what he knew he was pretty bad. Yet he seemed pretty hurt what had happened? He'd looked over at the Aroscian wondering if they had something to do with it. Yanwang would walk over pulling out his Fujin Bag. He was conflicted on what he should do so, for now, he did the best option. With his Fujin Bag, he pulled out a stool and sat down on it. He'd open the bag a little more pulling out a bag of bug spray to put in his back pocket. Just in case Chromo was hostile. "So what you doing out here," Yanwang asked frankly rubbing his hair.

Chromo's head jolted upwards at the sound of rustling in the bushes. A brief torrent of fear surged through his body. The beetle rushed up onto his wobbling legs, claws digging into the dirt for support. Antennae raised and pupils shrunken to tiny dots, Chromo would take a few cautious steps backwards to survey his surroundings. Maybe it was just a squirrel or something...
Then, a voice broke the silence of the forest. "guAAACK--!!" Chromo yelped in shock at the sound of another person. His back arched instinctively as he slunk into a defensive posture- even though bending his legs hurt. His eyes locked onto a shimmer in the foliage- lo and behold, an Arcosian emerged from the trees. Chromo felt a brief pang of familiarity, though it was quickly snuffed out by both instinctive fear and other brief memories of his more recent, less-desirable encounters with Arcosians. Still, the lady did say she came in peace, but... "C-come in peace my BUTT!" The bloody bio-android growled back, taking a few more paces back. "D-d-don't try and trick me! If you want to fight, then come a-at me!" He snarled, baring his rows of fangs. Still, his tone trembled like a leaf...
Another person slunk out of the woods. Some weird goblin guy, Chromo assumed. He didn't remember Yanwang clearly- let alone in his current emotional state. The lost child growled again, nearly tripping over his footing as he huddled against a boulder beside the pond. "I'm here b-because it's none of yer business!" He quipped with another snap of his teeth, trying desperately to seem intimidating in spite of both his wounds and fear. "Come any closer and you'll b-be deader then West City! Y-You h-h-hear me?!?" Chromo certainly didn't look to be in fighting shape, yet he continued to threaten the two. His breaths were raspy, eyes wide, and one injured leg was curled close to his torso. Chromo was many things- a mass murderer, a genetic amalgamation, a stupid idiot friend, but still a mere scared, lost child...

Chromo may have been a child, but he was an insanely powerful one who's claws already appeared to be stained with blood. Shiver immediately balked at the mention of a fight, stepping backwards hastily with her hands raised defensively in front of her. "No no, no fight and no tricks. I definitely don't want to fight. " She said quickly, mentally scoping out a potential escape route from this very untenable position. If he attacked, which thankfully he wasn't yet, then she was in quite a ride. At least the bug appeared to not be at 100%, now that she had the chance to take a closer look at his injuries.
And they weren't alone either. Another creature came stalking out of the underbrush into view, a small red horned thing that Shiver didn't recognize though seemed familiar. She'd seen horned aliens before of course, she WAS one three fourths of the time. Still, she could recall some significance regarding some red horned species she'd read about in a book somewhere. Something about the afterlife? More importantly though, he wasn't hostile AND he even finally supplied a concrete name for Shiver to latch onto. Yes, Chromo! She remembered fully now, though he didn't appear to remember her yet.
Chromo had also just confirmed that he'd attacked West City too, to which Shiver made a face. It wasn't something she'd expected from the bug when considering her own meeting, but then they'd only met once. She pushed that away however, managing to muster up a weak smile. Right now she had to focus on calming the bug down before she found herself engrossed in a battle. "Chromo, its me Shiver...remember? We ate pizza together once a while ago...I was shorter and had horns then.."
Oh yeah, Shiver had been in her first form back then. The difference in shape and form wasn't as massive as with her other forms, but it was now an unfortunate obstacle to any recognition. "I'm not here to hurt or attack you," She said soothingly, keeping her voice low and soft. "And I dont think he is either." She glanced over at the other person, eyes widening as she scoped out his power. He was really strong too, though he didnt compare to the flood of sheer might being released from Chromo. Honestly she couldnt speak for him, but he hadnt attacked yet and obviously already knew Chromo. "Uuuh, Hi" She told the red alien, "Name's Shiver."

Guess he was not looking to talk. Yanwang sighed reaching into his Fujin Bag as he tried to think what he could to make him talk. Yet he heard what he needed too when he threatened to more dead then West City. He'd raised an eyebrow in confusion from what he knew West City was fine. Other than that thug that killed Koban. That Cure place or whatever. When Shiver offered her name he nodded. "I am Yanwang of the Fujin Bag." Yanwang got up pushing the stool away as he walked towards Chromo. "You are hurt so here." Yanwang pulled out bandages from his Fujin Bag. He didn't know if they would really help the bug man but he'd at least be courteous. He knew very little about medicine and that knowledge didn't even help a cause that was for humanoids, not buganoids. "Anyway, you said something about West City. I want to know what happened because I've not heard about anything. I have been up here for a while training so i'm out of the loop." Maybe being nice would get Chromo to talk and if not he may have to step it a step further.

Chromo narrowed his eyes at Shiver as she'd claimed to have met him before. He did like pizza... Maybe they had met before? Chromo slunk back further, though his once sharp growls began to quiet. He was still much too scared to even think about digging into his memories to remember Shiver properly- especially when the traumatizing memories of West City were still replaying in his mind. "W-well if you i-i-idiots do try anything, I-I'll eat your nose!" He threatened with another growl, partially buying into their claims to avoid a fight- though he didn't fully lower his guard just yet.
Yanwang began to approach, causing Chromo's pupils to shrink yet again. "S-stay away!" He hissed, stirring up his ki yet again. "What's some s-stupid toilet paper gonna do to h-help?! Huh?!?" Chromo snapped in regards to the bandages- he refused to believe anyone would willingly help him- not after what happened before. The wind picked up, likely pushing the ogre back if he wasn't careful- though the kiai was gentle enough that he likely wouldn't have lost his footing.
...And then, West City was brought up. The brief gust of wind came to a still as Chromo's eyes widened. "W-west City..." He croaked. His eyes grew glassy, lips quivering... "I-It-- I-I-I..." He trailed off with a sniffle. "WwWAAAAHHhhAA--!!" Chromo couldn't keep his sobbing in any longer. The child collapsed to the ground, burying his bloodied face in the grass and wrapping his arms over his head. "I-I diDN'T MEAN TO! I d-d-didn't wanna!" Except he did mean everything he did before. He deliberately destroyed and killed- but now he wished he could take it all back. He wished he could bring them all back. "T-t-they're all g-gooneee!" Chromo wailed again in agony. "I-... I did..." He did it. It was his fault- nobody else's.
Chromo curled his body closer, refusing to look at the two anymore. What could he even say? That he killed a bunch of people and nearly destroyed an entire city- that he caused so much hurt and pain? That much was true, but he couldn't muster the will to say it aloud...

Yanwang huh? Interesting name for sure, but this was hardly the time or place for a conversation. Especially as Chromo didn't seem to remember her at all, and was threatening to...eat her nose. Shiver backed up a bit more to be safe, "Nope, not gonna try anything. No need for that kind of thing." She doubted her words were truly registering though, Chromo seemed a bit off his rocker at the moment, frantic and panicking judging from his words.
He didn't even recognize a bandage when he saw one, reacting with a defensive kiai that instinctively made Shiver raise her own defenses. The bug was just so strong, even compared to her and the red Yanwang. A strong contrast to the quivering fearful wreck that had just started sobbing on the ground. Slowly, as Chromo continued to debase himself in front of them, Shiver started to feel her fears subside. The bug wasn't an emotionless killer or monster, and he evidently wasn't looking to make more corpses at the moment anyway. She felt sorry for him even, despite the city rampage dancing in the background of this conservation.
With that though, came a pervasive sense of awkwardness as Shiver stood there. What was she supposed to say to him? Emotions or not, Chromo had apparently done some very very bad things of late. Saying "oh its ok" like it was spilled milk just wasn't going to cut it here. A thought did come to mind eventually, of a great wonder that had made quite a name for itself even in the far depths of space recently. Shiver felt cheap just thinking about it, as if she were about to lessen the impact of what Chromo had done. Yet if it would help console him....maybe enough to at least wear a bandage.
"Yes they are gone, and you did." She said gently as she stepped forward cautiously, kneeling down to get more on the bugs level. "But maybe you can still fix it? Have you ever heard of something called the Dragonballs? Supposedly they can grant wishes, even bring back the death and fix cities. I heard they're a thing on both Namek and Earth. If you could gather them then....If you really are sorry about what you did. " Shiver fell silent gradually to let him draw his own conclusions, knowing full well it wouldn't be that simple. Chromo was really powerful true, but there were Super Saiyans out there apparently. Trying to gather them would be a stupidly dangerous affair.

"Toliet Paper. These are bandages, they are supposed to help you not get your wound worse. You don't have to wear them but It is me being nice." Yanwang frowned. He really was unsure how to trust Chromo considering he seemed very hostile. He felt a force push on him as Yanwang slid back an inch before slamming his feet down his eyes growing dark. He would not be pushed back by a bug. He had trained to be able to stand tall against anyone no matter their strength. Shiver seemed to be playing good cop guess he should try bad cop but then agian maybe that was not needed. He could see Chromo looked like he was going to cry. What was so sad or maybe it was some pain? He did look pretty hurt afterall but Yanwang braced himself just in case it was some trick.
Something must have happened to the poor guy since he was crying. Yanwang looked away, he didn't wanna see him cry that was really weak and not mainly. He did something bad that what he could tell now. Something that now he was regretting. Yanwang felt pretty bad but at the same time, he did just admit he did something pretty bad in West City. What he did was still alluding them. Still, Shiver had thought with bringing back all those he hurt if he felt bad. He rubbed his chin. "Yah you can do that. Get the dragonballs and fix what you broke. That is if you actually feel bad for what you did." He really could not be for sure but guess Chromo would explain himself more and he'd get a better read on that.
