"Ode to the Past" Buried, but not Forgotten Descending rapidly, Casca attempted to hide the disorder she felt as she landed on the Prince’s burial site. Believing the Konatsian warrior was not too far behind, the Saiyan readied her resolve as she waited for the new tourist to show up. This was a tour Casca did not want to guide. Walking down the holy sight’s embroiled path, littered with candles and offerings to the deity known to grant wishes. The symbolism haunting in the context she had lost someone here not too long ago, the Saiyan’s hands invaded her pockets as she felt uneasy as the air changed directions when she thought, someone died here. Walking the open floor plan of the temple, a place where dreams should have been granted, why did she feel it was all for nothing. Taking a seat as the ceremonious platform was raised, she had to believe the Dragon was real, or better yet if the hunt could even be completed. “ Hey Aisise,” Casca called to the Konatsian woman, “ come join me,” she said as she patted the seat next to her. Legs hanging freely off the alter, the Saiyan allowed the day to rewind to a time when things seemed even more dire than they were now, to a time when the Monstar stood here, the Fortuna Syndicate as witness, as he maliciously tried to end the life of the Guru before succeeding with robbing Typha of his. If it weren’t for Vocado, Casca stopped, not allowing herself to go there. Giving one last warning, she tried her best to prepare the Konatsian for the truth. Her prince was the hero you read about in literature. “ We need to talk,” she whispered as she stared off into Namek’s three suns, heavy-hearted as she was ready to tell Aisise everything and anything to put an end to her pain, even temporarily. Pulling one knee to her chest, she shuddered as she remembered the anger in the Prince's last words, his eye's forever burned into her consciousness. Thread PL: 56,000

Where were they? Aisise had followed Casca because she had claimed that there was a shortcut to get to the nearest dragon ball. But instead they were brought here, a shrine. This seemed like the last place where one would be hiding a dragon ball, but hey, who knew. She wasn't going to discount a place just because it looked unlikely. Plus, she trusted that her new companion knew what she was doing. Aisise was unaware of the heavy air that lingered in the area as she followed the woman through the shrine, weaving through all the elaborate decorations that littered the floor. This was a sacred place and she wasn't going to disturb them at all. A question was bugging her from the back of her mind, why would there be a dragon ball here in the first place? This seemed like one of the worst places to hide one, especially considering how many people possibly came here in a day.
As they approached a ceremonious platform, Casca gestured for her to take a seat right next to her which she obliged, but this was where she got her first doubt that this was much more than just finding a dragon ball. After all, why would she ask her to take a seat instead of taking out her radar to search? Her smile began to falter, a frown replacing the hopeful look that she had plastered on her face as she glanced at her surroundings. "Where are we Casca? You said that this was a shortcut to find that dragon ball your radar found."
A chill went down her spine when Casca said those dreaded 4 words that Aisise knew so well. Something was wrong, but what? "What's wrong Casca?" She asked tentatively. She was still conflicted whether what she had to say was a good or bad thing. Suddenly, Aisise began to feel a sense of dread pouring into her body. Taking a deep breath, the konatsian stared seriously into Casca's eyes. "Is this about the hunt or something else? Don't lie to me, be honest. Don't sugar coat anything either, tell me what's wrong." She said solemnly. It was better for her to just say it and get it over with. While Aisise still didn't know what this was all about, she braced herself for the worst. She'd been through her own personal hell before, this shouldn't be as bad as that was. She was ready.

"Ode to the Past" A Walk to Remember Nervously tapping the base of the altar instead of taking a drag from a habit she long swore off, the Saiyan waited for the right moment to speak. Beams of light flooded the mind space of the young woman as her consciousness drifted between the clouds in the far off distance. The longing to be somewhere else took hold as she evaded responsibility. “ It was a lot like today,” the explanation needed to be gradual, “ the afternoon warm, calm, and inviting. The Namekians were happy. I was happy,” Casca hesitated, afraid of never being able to close the door she was about to open. “ Or at least I think I was.” The Saiyan remembered the excitement she had, wallowing in her private victory, successfully finding one of the seven Dragon Balls. While it didn’t amount to anything, her emotions became cross as she battled with defending and abandoning the hunt. How many lives would it cost to resurrect one? “ There was this boy. A real charmer. With his Earthling clothes and designer shades, he tried to tell me he was a Konatsian. Like you and Tyf—,” she wished she could take it back. “ But I didn’t believe him,” she said in jest as if the dead could defend themselves from her blasphemy. “ And there was this camouflaged man, Kid, who knew how to tell a great story,” Casca refrained on the details. Digging her hands into her armor’s neckline, the Saiyan leaned against one of Porunga’s pillars as she thought how she really was optimistic back then. The drinks were flowing, cash was never mentioned, and scars were explained as the three sat in tandem enjoying the benefits of being buzzed during the daytime. “ I miss those stories,” Casca confessed. The Saiyan closed her eyes momentarily as the good intentions they had evaporated over the course of the next twenty-four hours. “ We didn’t know what we were doing and tested fate by meeting here.” The planet had been a kinder, simpler place since then, but the juxtaposition of red over green drew the Saiyan’s digestive juices to her throat as she tried to keep a handle over her body. Clearing what was left of her throat several times, Casca made sure she was clear. “ Alongside my best friend, Flip Fortuna, and the planet’s Guru, Oboe, we tried to reason what could only be described as a Monstar.” Shelving the memorandum, for now, Casca moved with patience as her limbs once again supported her weight. Taking a small leap from the altar, the Saiyan touched down on the surrounding meadow. She couldn’t understand her how a place could feel so serene while also facilitating a ritual capable of changing the world it resided in. Touching the waist high grass as she proceeded towards the actual sight of destruction, she hollered once again for the Konatsian to join her. It would hardly be a surprise when she saw it, but the impact zone where Yogu took Typha’s life was in walking distance. A walk that wasn’t hard to remember.

Mollusc yawned rubbing the dirt off his face. Wait for Dirt? Mollusc looked around confused why was he underground? Was he dead again? He'd moved his legs, ok so he was not once again dead. He'd reached his hands out and floated on through. Guess he was just some spirit so it made sense. He could sense powerlevel where he was. Both were pretty strong maybe he should talk to them. He felt that he had nothing better to do after being stuck underground for a reason that alluded him. Like rising from the ashes Mollusc appeared in front of Casca and Aisie. He'd shake his body around just in case there was any dirt on him but there was none. He looked like any other Namekian expect people could see right through him. He looked around realizing he was at the Porunga's Shrine. Then he looked over the two people in front of him. Both of them seemed pretty strong. "Sorry to just popping up out of nowhere. I honestly don't know how I got here. One minute I take a nap next I'm popping out of the ground. You both seem to be outsiders to Namek what are you doing here?"

Aisise was growing more and more anxious as Casca began to drone on about something else. She just wanted her to get to the point! The more time they were wasting talking about this, the more time the dragon balls had to slip underneath their fingers and soon they would be losing their chance to revive him. However, as she continue to talk about some strange day, Casca spoke about some other Konatsian who had talked to her. But who? There could possibly be a solider sent to Namek, but Aisise didn't exactly know who she was talking about. Finally, she spoke up, repeating the question that she had not yet answered. "Tell me, why are we here?" She asked once more. "I would love to hear your stories some other time, but this isn't the best moment right now."
Finally, she began to speak about him. The one that had taken away one of Konats' pride and joy. She would once again call her to join, which Aisise agreed to, jumping off from where she was sitting to land right next to Casca. The meadow they were in felt so serene, and calm. It was one of the most beautiful things that she had ever seen, almost like the meadow she had once stumbled upon on Konats before it had been razed to ash by the android attack. Such serenity held so many painful memories for her. However, she pushed them to the back of her head. This wasn't about her, and she shouldn't let her own personal thoughts cloud what Casca had to say. "It's beautiful," she commented, murmuring as she carefully stepped over all the delicate flowers in order not to crush their beauty. While she still had no idea what Casca was doing, she decided to push her luck one final time. "Is this where the dragon ball you tracked lies?" She asked.
Only after a few steps in, a ghost suddenly materialized right in front of the two of them. Out of instinct, Aisise pulled out both of her swords in response to this new threat. However, she quickly realized that this was a ghost of some sort of namekian. They were at a shrine. It made sense if this was where they buried the dead. "I'm sorry," she responded as she once again sheathed her swords. "I just didn't expect to see you rise up from the ground." Did he even know he was dead? It spoke as if he still believed that he was alive. He then would question why they were doing here, which Aisise would then quickly respond. "I'm from Konats, taking a mission to escort our prince safely back home. But, he was killed by some monster." Her voice trailed off quietly near the end. "Casca and I are working to find the dragon balls so we will be able to bring him home. Although I might ask you the same. Why might you be here as well?"

"Ode to the Past" Who's Past? Mouth open and trembling as the phantom Namekian spoke, Casca recoiled and course corrected to Aisise’s side. Holding one of the Konatsian’s hands, lending her the solidarity not to attack, she tried to make her aware they were in this together. The warrior apologizing for an outburst that Casca thought was justified, maybe not to the point of an assassin chopping up vegetables, but. The Saiyan starred with un-twitching eyes as she saw right through the Namekian. “ Oboe, come out,” the young woman yelled to the farthest reaches of the Maima Region. Seeing ghosts at a place like this must have been the oldest prank in the book. Stomping once as if to ward off a bear, Casca shuttled in front of the Konatsian as she pointed a finger towards the chest of the Namekian. “ If this is some sort of trick pulled by one of the other Namekians? It was Gita, right? Porunga be it, or am I going mad?” Reaching out to touch the spirit, the Saiyan’s hand bent at the last moment, not knowing if entities like Mollusc wanted or could be touched? Or if their matter was solid while remaining attached to the afterlife? And she didn’t want to be that kid in class touching everyone’s new haircut, so she interrupted Aisise’s question before the Namekian could answer. “ We are looking to bring someone back to this realm. Not necessarily like you, no offense,” she emphasized her wish by pointing to the ground instead of somewhere around the Namekian as he was translucent. “ Is there any way for you to deliver a message to them, that we have a plan, and if uninterrupted —,” Casca sensed Aisise’s anticipation as she stood between the two in conversation. “ Tell them we will see them soon, that’s all,” she changed her tune. Hands sunk into her armor, the young woman listened to the two as they conversed. She looked to the sky, as she believed she could see the faint outline of the mega-cruiser. Doing a quick genuflect towards Big Gamble’s location in Namek’s low orbit, the Saiyan believed her and her longtime, best friend, Flip, would be reunited soon, hopefully with some vigor and aid the Konatsians’ in their similar pursuit of just being welcomed back home. Swiping left a lone hanger-on, the Saiyan stayed her composure as she combat tears. Casca could already picture it. By this time next month, those who have been lost, will be found. Maybe. She could wish.

Mollusc nodded to Aisise drew her blades. Guess he had suprised them hopefully she'd keep her head. No need to start a fight, afterall he could sense that she'd be on the short end of that right. He'd still rather not get stabbed though. The other girl seemed to think it was a trick from someone else. One of the Namekian he heard of but the other one he didn't know at all. "Neither of them summoned me. I am my own Namekian. I am Mollusc I was a Namekian who lived on Vegeta. Decided to come here after my death." He'd didn't need to give them the whole story, it would be a waste of time what he said should have been enough to get an idea of why he was in this spot right now.
Now it was time to learn what they wanted and both were surprisingly forthcoming. Guess they felt there was nothing to hide? That was all he could assume. Regardless their story seemed good enough, they wanted to revive someone killed by some monster on Namek. "I am sorry to hear that is this Monster taken care of. If not I should make sure it is." Mollusc was still confident in whatever it could be he could at least fight. After fighting Kayen he knew he could fight anyone if need be at least for a short period. When Casca asked to send them a message he shook his head. "I am Afraid I didn't gain the ability to travel between life and death. I am alive in some senses but dead in others. I'm bound to the living realm unless i'm killed agian." That was his going theory untill proven otherwise."

Out of nowhere, Casca had gotten in front of her, accusing the namekian about this being a trick, even dropping the name Gita. While she had no idea who that was, she allowed her to continue talking. While Aisise wasn't religious or too spiritual herself, she did believe in ghosts although she never had expected to meet one herself. Did this ghost have some sort of spiritual baggage which had prevented him from being able to move on to the afterlife? The ghost, introducing himself as a former namekian by the name of Mollusc began to explain a bit. A namekian affiliated with the Saiyan Kingdom, that was rather unusual. Although it did make sense for him to return here, most likely wanting to find rest among the namekian soil. "Why have you decided to return here, Mollusc? Do you have some unfinished bushiness you want to take care of?" It was a question more out of curiosity than anything, but Aisise would also use it to gauge whether he was actually a threat or not. Silently, he hoped that he wasn't as she didn't feel the urge to fight him in such a place like this.
But Casca's words, asking him to send a message to someone from the other side got her hopes up. Was it really possible for him to send a message to the deceased Prince? Aisise had even began to open up her mouth, ready to ask him to send a message of her own before he spoke up. Those hopes were immediately crushed, causing her to slink down slightly from sadness. "I was hoping to at least let him know that we're here for him." She muttered quietly. However, it was nothing that she could do to. Those were most likely the law of the universe and Aisise didn't have the power to change it.
"Thank you for your offer though," Aisise said with a sigh of relief. Another ally against the Monster. Perhaps his reign of terror would finally come to an end and there would be no more death by his hands. While it would not change all the deaths that were caused in general, at least she got some sort of closure. For all she knew, one of the saiyans on the planet could have possibly dealt with him by now and she wouldn't have known. "Are you planning on joining the hunt as well?" It would make sense, especially when he could be trying to find a way to return to life. However, she had desperately hoped that if that were the case they would find a way to work together at the very least. Couldn't the namekian dragon balls grant more than a single wish, or perhaps she got that confused with the Earth dragon balls.

"Ode to the Past" What Future? Studying the Namekian’s words as if they were the answers for a midterm, the Saiyan stared intently at the orator as he explained how he happened to exist in his current ethereal form. She could sense the regret in the Namekian’s voice as he did not expand on the topic in grand detail, leaving a void where silence was valued over a response. Defaulting to Aisise, Casca remained with head turned to the cloud as she listened to the two continue their conversation uninterrupted. Trying to hide her disappointment in Mollusc not being able to communicate with the other side, the Saiyan shelved her request to reach out to her family. For the moment, her wish of being reunited with her lost kin would remain dormant as the matters of the planet shifted out of her control. Feeling the Konatsian’s wind leave her sail with the reveal of the full extent of the Namekian’s prowess; Casca palmed the warrior’s shoulder without looking. They would remain apart from their loved ones, at least for a little longer. The Saiyan would remain despondent as the conversation continued. She faked a smile as the Namekian threw his name into the ring in the case of another Monstar, knowing full well that any newcomer to the planet could potentially be her death sentence. The young woman’s mind raced as she tried to traverse the future’s various outcomes. Desperate, she thought. Futile. Impossible. More upset at herself for being so weak, so insignificant, that she needed to rely on those above her pay grade to look out for her. And for what, she thought, thinking of the attack Oboe withstood against the monster who called himself Yogu. So when the Konatsian brought up the hunt once again, Casca thought it right to throw in the towel. With the Super Saiyan named Nashua procuring more than half of the available Dragon Balls with the help of the Syndicate and others loyal to the Guru, Casca allowed herself to believe she was no longer needed. Let the task fall to bigger hands, she thought as she removed hers from Aisise’s shoulder. Wanting to be honest with her intent while still being courteous of the dreams of the Konatsian, the Saiyan returned to the conversation. “ I’m afraid in our pursuit to return those of your kind to the living,” she motioned to Mollusc before continuing, “our grasp on this realm is jeopardized. I’m sorry,” the emotions getting the best of her as she spoke to both of her acquaintances. Sniffling as her sinuousness chose an untimely moment to erupt from her nose, she had to laugh. “ I’m sorry, but I don’t think I can do this anymore.” Unsure if her message was delivered properly, Casca removed the Dragon Radar from her pocket. The once irritable device slept silently in the Saiyan’s open hands, on full display as she looked to further cement her comments. With one solid movement, the young woman removed the radar’s batteries. Condensing her hand around the two medium size energy cells, Casca superheated her hands, removing the only factor keeping her on this planet. “ I’m sorry you are like this,” she left her comment ferment between Aisise and Mollusc, purposely not clear on who she was referring to. “ I hoped to change it all,” thoughts of the Konatsian Prince flashed across her mind, turning into the face of the Monstar before she acknowledged the weight of what she was trying to say. “ But right now, I would only be a burden on those who can actually change the narrative. A burden that would only hinder what is best for the greater story.” Hoping the two wouldn’t jump her for wasting their time, Casca abided to the situation as she surrendered from the Hunt. Thoughts of Flip and the Big Gamble entered her headspace, as she felt free for the first time in months. Maybe the house always does win, she thought as she turned to hear how her decision would effect Aisise and Mollusc.

When Aisise asked why he was back Mollusc crossed his leg and floated in the air his arms crossed over his chest. He wanted to give her a straight answer. "Sadly I could not tell you why I came back. Maybe I needed to deal with something that happened in my life or maybe to help someone. I cannot say." Mollusc frowned lightly. As for helping them communicate with their dead friend he smiled. "I bet he knows I know I cannot send a message but I hope that he can hear us from down here. If he can i'm sure he is smiling that you're both working so hard to bring him back from the dead." He'd tipped his head to both of them.
He'd shifted over to Cassa who seemed torn up over something. She seemed to have snapped or something. Maybe something was just tugging at her mind. He watched as she destoyed the batteries to her Dragon Radar his eyes narrowed. She seemed to be in conflict with her strength and doing what she saw as a duty. "Giving up is never a bad thing. People need to know when not to step too far. I know, I decide to go out of my depth to fight someone who was far stronger than me which lead to my death. Yet, if your going to give up on the hunt you should give your Radar to someone you can trust to keep your duty if you feel you need to keep some oath to someone else."

The dragon balls had provided her hope. They promised her a future where she could bring the prince back and she could leave the planet with him by her side. She could return home and planet could celebrate her accomplishment. She could feel like she had contributed to something. But that hope disappeared when Casca said that she couldn't do this anymore. For a moment, Aisise looked confused. What was she talking about? She said that she would join her for the hunt and now she wasn't up for it anymore. "Casca, what are you saying?" Aisise asked, hoping that she was joking. But the moment she took out those batteries and fried them in her hands it felt as if the entire world crashed down onto her. She fell to her knees, having just witnessed the prince's last hopes of being revived being destroyed. "No..." She said, trying to deny what she just saw. But denial couldn't change reality.
"Why did you do that?" She asked, her voice full of grief and confusion. "That was my, no, Konats last hope." Tears that she had been trying to hold back came flowing freely down her face. It felt as if her entire world came crashing down on her now. "You could have let me take it over. I don't care what the cost is. I need to bring him back to life." She was practically begging at this point. "I have to, for the sake of the royal family."
Mollusc would comment on this as well, speaking about how giving up wasn't a bad thing. However, in such a fragile state, Aisise simply couldn't understand his words. How could he say that giving up in such a crucial moment like this wasn't bad? It was unfathomable to her. As she was about to shout at him, the second part made her pause. Yes, if Casca didn't want to participate in it anymore, it didn't mean that the hunt was over. Aisise was willing to put her life on the line for the chance to bring him back. It was a dangerous one indeed, but one that she was adamant about following. Besides, she didn't destroy the radars, just the batteries. If she could somehow get her hands on some more batteries, perhaps that hope still existed? Pushing herself back up, Aisise turned towards Casca. While there was still pain in her eyes, the anger and hatred that she felt towards the woman was no longer there. "Please, Casca. If you don't want to do it anymore, let me." Her voice had cracked, unable to contain the tears. She didn't care about appearances. Aisise simply let her true feelings out. "Please, just give me a chance. I need to bring him back." While she wasn't sure if this would work, she had to try. As much as she didn't want to hurt Casca, she had to somehow prevent her from destroying the rest of the radar. However, she would do her best to solve this by words until then.

"to the Past"
“ Guys I’m sorry but I’m doing you both a favor,” Casca tried to reassure the two what she was about to do was the right thing. With a lot of hooplas and a little sleight of hand, the Saiyan caused a small Ki fire to sprout in her hand with the Dragon Radar, quickly engulfing the whole of it. As quickly as it started, the fire stopped and Casca showed her open and empty palm to the two she was in conversation with. She thought she was pretty clever as the radar had been in her pocket for a while. The trick all hinged on Casca remaining as still as humanly/Saiyanly as possible. She produced an after-image, one with a static image of her holding the radar. Because she moved so fast, the image retained its shape, and with it, she might have coned the two into thinking she actually destroyed the radar when in reality, she put it in her pocket and was saving their lives in the process. She didn’t want to offend these two but she was done. Mollusc didn’t need to die again if that was even possible, and Aisise needed a new hobby. Casca wished she had a more noble answer. As badly as she wanted to help the Konatsian be returned with her Prince, giving her the radar while she was off planet would be irresponsible. Casca was stronger than Aisise when she just started to be successful in the hunt and was still almost killed. Unless Aisise could prove to her that her team was stronger than what Casca had, the radar was going to stay with its owner. “ Besides, getting your own and trying to get it to work is half the fun anyway.” No it wasn’t, she remembered. Feeling way better about the whole situation, the Saiyan readied herself for the backlash that might be coming her way. If there were rebuttals, Casca did listen but for all she cared, the deed was done. Daydreaming about a place that didn’t have Dragon Balls or a hunt at all, the young woman remembered the Syndicate originated on Earth. Fuck it, she thought, Earth’s as good a place as any for some rest and relaxation. She’d earned it!

Mollusc looked as things seemed to fall apart. The Konatsian woman had seen to fall to despair with the saiyan leaving the hunt. Guess bringing this person back was really important to her. She seemed to really want to bring whoever this was back to life, without the radar that was impossible. Mollusc listened in but keep his mouth shut he just looked towards Casca. Then she destoyed the radar but Mollusc look didn't change he just stared at Casca. Maybe she destoyed the radar maybe she didn't but Mollusc had lost patience after Kayen cut him to pieces. If she did destroy it she did burried herself. Plus he had seen the speed of someone like Kayen while Super Saiyan her hand trick would not keep him guessing that much. He could not be sure but at the very least he thought Casca was trying to con them. Mollusc pulled himself up letting out a deep sigh.
"I use to be someone to try to reason with people but people don't seem to listen to words all that well. They seem to be only coerced with violence. But i'll give you a chance to avoid that. You wanted to bring someone back now you change your mind. You bust your radar afterward showing you're cruel to your allies. She is crying and begging to save her friend and you turn it to ash. You have a radar or did. If you don't have it then." He'd point to the ground. "I'll get you a shovel to make yourself a nice grave. If you still have it you can hand it over. You can choose not to hand it over and I can kill you just the same. It is your choice though. Whatever choice you choose I'll get what I want. You can also choose to run away and you may flee but I'll find everyone you love and kill them too." Mollusc stared blanky and there was no hesitation in his voice.

This day was only getting worse as it continued. Aisise wondered why she even had thought Casca was helping her in the first place. It only felt like she brought her here and to lie and taunt her. Saying that she was only doing them a favor merely caused her tears to flow even harder. Aisise was no stranger to danger, and she was willing to put her life on the line if it was for the good of the royal family, for the good of the kingdom. Why was she even torturing her now? The feelings of friendship Aisise had originally felt between them was shattered. It was unlikely that she would ever feel anything but despair and distrust from her ever again. But there was one thing that Aisise would agree with, she would get a radar of her own or find someone who was willing to help her if she had the chance. If Casca wasn't going to help her... well screw her for the lack of a better term. Even with her despair feeling as if it was crushing her, she would move on. She's been through worse before. Nothing could truly get worse than this.
Out of nowhere, Mollusc suddenly threatened Casca with her life if she wouldn't give it over. Despite her new negative feelings with the woman, Aisise wasn't the type to wish death towards others. "Please, Mollusc stop. Don't do something like that." Aisise begged the ghost. "I appreciate the help, but I don't want any unnecessary bloodshed. I'm not the person that wish something like that on someone." She wiped the tears that were still flowing down her face and her breath hitched briefly as she tried to relax and faced the woman. Her eyes held nothing but coldness and contempt. "I have no other business with you. If you choose to leave the hunt, then go do it. Live out your life as you wish, but don't tell me how to live mine. Don't torment me any further with your delusions of what you think is good for me." The deep feeling of pain was one of the worst she ever felt. "Don't you ever talk to me again." Aisise could hardly find herself choking those words out, however, with the words came a deep relaxing sense of catharsis. While normally she would probably find herself regretting those words in the future, the Konatsian doubt that she would change her mind. If Casca refused to leave, then Aisise would. She had nothing to do here anymore. She had no reason to associate with someone who had hurt her feelings this badly. It would only make her already fragile feelings even worse.
