Things had been quiet over the last few days... Relatively speaking, of course. Any news tamer than 'someone tried blowing up the moon and came very close to succeeding' is going to seem incredibly dull in comparison, Min supposed. Even still, in her neck of the woods things had been quiet. After the whole ordeal with Abraxas, she'd kept in the Fukurou Forest a while. Hoping to gain some semblance of knowledge about the Earth's Kami from the tribesmen living below the Lookout.
The Karinga were fine folk, but none of them seemed to know too much about the newest god on the block. They knew he was new, at the very least, and that he wasn't a bad person for the job. Other than that, though, they were blanking on information.
Once a week or so had passed, she decided enough was enough, and turned her sights to the totem pole that reached past the clouds. So mighty it was, so holy and sacred. And yet somehow she already knew who owned it. The idea of that felt wrong. Who was she to be involved in the business of higher beings? Of things divined to be worthy of protecting an entire planet? Well... She was Min. And Min came from a very long line of nosy do-gooders. (Not that she knew that, of course)
So, with a dull sigh, the green-garbed explorer kicked off the ground, and clasped her hands around the sides of the pillar. The old legends said that climbing up to the top was a rite of passage, and she wasn't about to miss out on something like that. She'd already broken a few rules by smart-mouthing the god of earth in the middle of a fight, but surely he'd cut her some slack if she played by the rules a little bit.
And so off she went, leaping from spot to spot with as much gusto as she could muster. She imagined it wasn't something anyone did recently, since so many Ki-infused fighters could fly. Knowing that filled her with pride and passion, and perhaps heightened her ego ever-so slightly.
All things considered, though, the climb was a bit... Dull. She'd been through so many things lately that this was quite peaceful in comparison. Sure it was tough on the arms, but so was dungeon delving. Hell-- fighting that weird stone thing with Kayen was more stressful than this!
After an hour or so had passed, Min found herself near the top. With a leap and a flip, the Serpent Student landed in Korin's Tower, sweat dripping from her forehead. Now that she was done, the strain actually got to her. If only she'd brought some water!
"Uhh... Hello? Nashi or whoever? Do you have anything to drink? I forgot my backpack at the bottom..."
Breathing too heavily to seem cool and collected, Min sat down on the stone and waited a bit. Whoever was running this place was surely gonna show up soon... Right?

The past few days had been rather odd. There was the moon, yes, that was certainly a thing that almost blew up, but speaking of matters after that: Myu’s recovery was going on, with Nashi and Chime helping as much they could. The event seemed to have gotten on television all around the world, though with all the crazy going on everywhere the almost-destruction of the moon didn’t even get on the front page.
So Nashi kept doing what he had been doing for a while now: training his body, sure, but training his mind primarily. He had been tending to his bonsai with great patience and diligence, and for once it seemed to be going rather well. Nashi didn’t have any innate botanic magic learnt over hundreds of years to help— how could something be both learned and innate?— which was perhaps why the senzus from the bonsai weren’t as big as the ones on the telly, but he learnt to manage with fertiliser. And, because of how impossibly dense the beans were with nutrients and all that other good stuff, he needed a lot of fertiliser.
Barely a moment after Min got into the Lookout, a big bag of top-notch fertiliser of at least thrice her mass landed precisely and neatly by the door— it had been thrown many dozens of kilometres up from groundlevel. If Min looked to the centre of the moon she would see the bonsai, still on the small side, which looked the size to warrant perhaps only a light handful of fertiliser.
Barely a moment after, Nashi himself landed at the door, having jumped with precisely enough power for gravity and air resistance to have cancelled out his initial velocity precisely at the top: in other words, exactly what you’d expect of a cat with legs that could compress a beer factory into a beer can. The jump took him about fifty seconds.
Nashi saw his visitor. ”Oh, ‘sup. Did you cli—“ Warm, saline sweat dripped off Min like an icecream in an oven. ”You did, you did.” Oh, something to drink? She didn’t climb all the way up here for a nice glass of red, did she? Well, at the very least, Nashi could supply some water. He moved over to where the tap was (an addition of Quince which worked only as long as you didn’t question where the water came from) but, then, paused. Wait, didn’t I have a cool thing to do for situations like this?
In the next fraction of a fraction of what could be a second to you if you thought periods of time less than a second were a second, Nashi would disappear for approximately 0 seconds and then reappear, a kettle of water in his hand. ”In this kettle… is magic water! Drink it if you can!” Nashi got the Power Pole out, placed the kettle upon its end and started spinning it around. Dang I’m cool.
But, of course, there was a twist: whenever Min reached for the kettle, Nashi would move it away! Absolute galaxybrain move, that. 396kPL

Nashi arrived quicker than she expected. In all honesty, the surprise she’d felt upon his arrival revealed that she needed to hone her energy sensing. For someone so powerful to slip by her radar, it meant either she was doing something wrong, or he had done something right. Landing with catlike grace, Nashi offered to fetch some water, and off he went before Min even had a chance to get a word in.
”Wha— Oh thanks I— Hey!”
The water he’d brought was a ruse in disguise! Soon as she tried to grab it, he yanked it away! She should have figured that magic water dangling from the end of a long pole would have an extra layer to it.
”Aw jeez. Is this because I was mean to the moon bomber lady or whoever?”
She tried for it again, and again she was denied. The exhaustion was certainly getting to her now. Would she be able to pull this off in a timely fashion?
With a mighty leap, Min tried to gain height on her foe, but only ended up bumping into the domed ceiling of Korin’s Tower. She groaned in annoyance, rubbing her head as she slowly floated back down. ”Guhh. This sucks.”
Patience running thin, the Serpent Explorer ran forward, aiming to tackle Nashi to the ground and take the pole from him!

Yoink.
”Hm?” Oh, right, Nashi had sorta half-forgotten that bit. Min had said some bad things concerning Myu. Nashi didn’t really remember that, he could barely remember anything after the Blood Ruby started going glow-y. The truth was, Nashi had done the magic-water-on-a-stick routine a few times before. It was always training/a way to prove worth, not a punishment. But… ”Yeah. It is.”
Min tried, tried and tried again. It was admirable, of course, but from at least Nashi’s perspective it was growing a tad repetitive. As Min ran towards him, the Senbyō simply made a movement of the hands and would bonk Min over the head with the kettle as she neared. ”Enough. You have shown not-giving-up-ness.” Sure, he could have said ‘persistence’ or ‘determination’, but… actually, darn, he should have used one of those. ”Worry not! When I’m through with you, you’ll be able to catch the kettle*!” While it wasn’t detectable in speech, Nashi hid a little asterisk in there, to the disclaimer.
Nashi got out a cup (blue, cheap and plastic) and placed it upon the floor. He got the kettle out and into his hand and began to pour… but he was pouring his energy into the kettle, and the only water that escaped the kettle did so in the form of steam. It rose quickly. ”You can try this again in time. But I will tell you something else…” He placed the kettle upon the floor. ”There’s some water above us, on the Lookout. Race you there!”
Nashi would jump out of the Abode and would begin flying upwards, only a bit faster than he was expecting Min to be. This probably wasn’t very accurate.

So he was punishing her! A mixture of trial-punish by a martial arts master was probably going to do some good for her, but she didn’t much see it that way. In her eyes, she just wanted some damn water! The sudden bump on the head took away some of that need, though, replacing it with a stinging pain.
”Ouch! Can you blame me, dude? She kinda was trying to blow up our moon. You know how hard it is to fix that sucker? Probably pretty mega-hard!”
Grumbling as she rubbed her noggin, she barely paid attention as the water turned to steam. She knew he wouldn’t actually pour her anything, and now her sour tongue was back on her mind. Why did climbing a tower have to be so demanding anyway? It just wasn’t fair.
”The Lookout...? Oh yeah! The floating bowl thing right? We’re goin there no— HEY!! WAIT UP!”
Nashi had launched off into the sky without her, and she followed suit as best she could. Even with the cat-boy keeping his pace slow, she was barely able to keep up. The trip was quite long too, and by the end of the flight she was easily a few minutes behind Nashi.
Landing at the edge of the massive bowl, Min collapsed into a heap on the floor, groaning into the tiles as she tried and failed to sit upright.
”Mbrif Fhrunks...”
As she sat there, face-first in the holy land, she had to wonder if the Namekian boy would treat her just as poorly. If her luck kept going the way it was currently, he probably wasn’t even on the Lookout today...

Nashi would try to slow down as much as he could for some good ol’ communication but it got to the point where, if he went any slower, it would have been obvious that he was deliberately going slowly.
”No, Abraxas was trying to blow up the moon. Myu was as powerless in that situation as you.” And, besides, the moon surely wasn’t that hard to restore, was it? He was sure the cheese companies from all over would jump at the opportunity to make a new one. Or, failing that, couldn’t they just wish it back with the Dragon Balls? After Nashi revived Yogu, of course. ”But that’s OK, I’ve forgiven you. That’s why I’ve agreed to train you!”
Nashi reached the Lookout. With his couple hundred second lead, he had plenty of time to prepare for the water Min so desperately required! When Min looked up from the tiled ground in her collapsed state, she would have seen two glasses: one had milk (lactose-free!) to the brim for Min and the other did have that, but it was for Nashi; Min took a while, so he started and finished his glass without her. The glasses were on a platter and were right next to chocolate chip cookies, dyed blue and baked by his dad. If Min were to look up a bit more, she’d have seen Nashi just finishing off his half. some blue crumbs still adorning his lips.
This was no deception, Nashi wasn’t going to swipe any of it away at the last possible moment. ”When I’m done with you, you’ll be able to fly that in half the time!”
Things were going decently well so far but, when it came to skill, Nashi simply didn’t know where Min was starting off. ”So, how much training have you had? What styles do you know? So I know where to start you.”
