"The Fortuna Family" A Celebration of sorts! The constant ringing in the Saiyan’s ears kept her awake, sometimes for days. The growing power level of the planet seeped into her head like background radiation, passively through her Ki Sense. Packing up, the young woman decided she needed a change of scenery. “ That will be one million Zeni!” Casca spits out her morning green kale shake at Beatrice, the older alien woman she had befriended during her stay at the vigilante hotel. “ I thought we had a deal, when I did that thing, in the past, we will no longer speak about,” Casca shooed the lady from her side as she tried to force her way to the door. “ Not so fast! Da coppers, they be waiting,” the woman released the Saiyan from her hotel, into a street full of the corrupted men who wear the black and greens. “ Hold it!” Casca ripped through their flimsy barricade as she walked to the space docks. “ You guys, again? Hadn’t we taught you a lesson? Do your job and stop messing with the tourists,” and with that comment, the Saiyan after-imaged her self out of some trouble. Stepping her foot down on the outside of what would be considered a shuttlecraft, Casca kept her head down as she stowed aboard a ship with a bunch of Namekian families on vacation. “ How goes it,” Casca waved at the disturbed families. “ Nice afternoon, right,” she said in the direction of the closest Namekian child. “ Going to win some money tonight on the Big Gamble,” she poked some fun at the child as she also poked her tongue out. “ Please, refrain from speaking to us. We have no money for you,” the child’s mother said as she placed herself between the two. Sigh. Casca remained quiet the rest of the ride, being the first to exit the shuttle. “ Didn’t mean to scare ya! Ni hao,” she laughed as she gestured for peace. Turning her back on the confused families, the Saiyan couldn’t have been more excited. Dashing up the massive visitor parking stairs, Casca ran through the casino floor. Hearing the jovial banter, smelling the incredible smells, and seeing the cash flow, the Saiyan rejoiced in being home. “ Hey there Shimmer, seen Flip,” the Saiyan grabbed ahold of one of the Gamble’s hardest working staff member’s attention as she passed. “ Looking to catch up on something’s,” she roared above the lively atmosphere, grabbing a bottle of Champaign in the process. “ Hey, you are going to need to pay for that! You can't just take what you want,” Shimmer responded with a little heat. “ And he’s in his office, the man’s been counting his credits. Something about how the house always wins?” “ Thank yous and put it on my tab,” Casca pointed to fingers at the Alien before ducking out of sight. “ Take it outta your paycheck,” Shimmer said as she made her way back to the entertainment on the casino floor. Frantically pushing the lobby’s main elevator door’s open button, Casca refused to lose. “ C’mon! C’mon,” were the words she should have used as she bailed on the elevator and took the stairs. With a trace glint of Ki shrouding her body, the Saiyan rocketed up the stairs as she anxiously awaited her reuniting with her best friend. Smashing open the stairwell door, the young woman almost lost the bottle she brought in celebration as she collided with the ship’s help. Apologizing quickly with a hand to the shoulder, Casca promised to return the favor another time. Following the winding hallways of the Big Gamble, the Saiyan relaxed for a moment when she found what she longed for. Kicking in the door of Flip’s office, the Saiyan raced across the room to embrace the man. “ Heard you been busy! Sorry I haven’t been around,” Casca said as she gripped the Dandyman. Feeling guilty of her exploits on the planet while Flip tended to the Syndicate’s needs behind the scenes, she tried to explain how she’d made it up to him. “ I’ll work weekends, no overtime! I’ll even work holidays and my birthday!” Not noticing the Shinjin sitting in the dark corner of Flip’s office, the Saiyan felt off guard and drew to the defensive, pointing to the man through her embrace with Flip. “ Who the hell are you?”

Flip's PL: 28,474 Things had certainly taken an interesting turn as of late. With the arrival of Nashua, and her holding onto their Dragon Balls, things were looking a bit more secure for them. Good timing too, since there were more people coming to Namek in search of the Dragon Balls. Not only that, but the crime boss had even come into possession of another Dragon Ball, the one star ball. With all the others accounted for, that left one ball left to find. If Flip could find it, and get it to Nashua, things could wrap up, and they could get off this rock. He just needed to get this ball over to Nashua so that he wasn't a walking target. The ball was now sitting on his desk, almost looking at him like some sort of wish granting eye. And then, well, there was the newcomer that was currently in his office. All of a sudden, the door to his office was kicked in. Flip shot to his feet, expecting it to be someone here for the dragonball. Instead, it was Casca, who came in and immediately hugged him tightly, apoligizing for being gone for a period of time and promising to make it up to him. The red haired man let out a sigh. "Geez Casca, you're going to give me a heart attack. Just open the door like a normal person in the future. And it's fine, we all have lives to tend to." Seriously, Casca needed to calm down at times. She took things way to seriously at times. And then her attention turned to the third person in the room, immediately going on the defensive. Flip let out a small sigh, turning back to look at him. "Care to introduce yourself to her?"sabanto

Traversing the cosmos as a pillar of light was not one of the most difficult things in currently residing in the Mortal Realm. No, of all the strange things to be irritated with in this land of life, emotion and other wonderous things, the one thing to be the most irritated with was, for the shinjin residing within the light, the difficult manner of cartography. Sabanto was a tad grumpy as he soared through space in the protective light of his Kai Kai – frustrated with the difficulty he was having in finding his way across the cosmos, especially since he’d left Otherworld.
While his first trip had taken him, safely, to Planet Vegeta – it had delayed his plans quite substantially and forced him to interact with others in such a manner that made him feel untrue to himself. The nice manner, unselfish words and non-deceptive interactions with Kiko, the Shinjin of Pride – and Kayen, the Queen of the Saiyans. Though not entirely unpalapable, the concept and thought of having had to delay his own intended wants and needs left him feeling sick, something the Shinjin of Greed could arely stomach. Still! It hadn’t all been bad. He’d gained some lasting friendships with the young wanna-be Supreme Kai and even had face time with royalty.
The Light encapsulating his form began to dim, an indicator that he was nearing his targeted destination. He had been most appreciative of the kai for granting him the correct coordinates for his travels, having cut the time to make it to Namek from 12 minutes to nearly 4! Still, no matter how swiftly his travels had gone since leaving the Saiyan Planet, Sabanto was still restless with desire. Soon he’d be on the planet with the highest levels of Greed that he’d encountered since the last great war! So much ripe, beautiful energy for his lovely artifact to absorb.
In the distance of space, the Kai could finally make out the green blot swiftly growing in size by the second. It seemed that his original thoughts of the world being like so many other natural worlds prior had been incorrect. While most lands were blue in their oceans and green on their grass, it seemed Namek was the exception to the rule. With blue grass and green oceans, it was no wonder that the Shinjin had confused himself the first time around. Faster and faster his body lurched, the Kai Kai nearing its completion, before suddenly – without warning – a Spaceship flew into his path! Without time to correct his course, the Shinjin found himself teleporting within the vessel proper.
The room in which he stood was dark, quiet. There wasn’t much going on in here outside of the ambient light generated from the computer therein. Where was he? Cautiously, using his senses, the Shinjin maneuvered his way out of the office and into a brightly lit hallway with numerous sounds and flashing bulbs to catch his gaze! Staring around him, Sabanto realized that he was on a game ship of some kind! Not unlike the casinos he used to frequent back on Earth during his younger, more adventurous days! Glee filled his heart as he began to run around to each of the games.
Slot Machines, Roulette Machines, even Digital Poker Games! The sheer amount of greed inducing objects had nearly floored the Kai of Greed. Through magical means, the Kai caused his appearance to change to that of his well-tailored suit – taking on the appearance of a businessman so to further enjoy the luxuries available to him. With the time it took to approach the world, Sabanto decided that he was owed some freedom of time.
Hours would pass as the Kai enjoyed himself, so much so that he deemd the place a suitable locale for him to conduct his business. After discussing with most of the onboard staff about their leader, a Human named Flip Fortuna, the Shinjin had deemed it necessary to join this man and his crew! After all, where better to gather and collect the greed of Mortal Kind then this very Casino? The fact that it was a mobile ship without need to stay in one place made the idea even more delightful! Without delay, the Kai would go through the proper channels to inquire about work, his need for a good cover to his true intentions outweighing any desire he had prior with the Wish Orbs.
Through some intense grilling and conversation with the floor managers, he was finally directed to the Main Man’s office itself. Having arrived a little ahead of schedule, the Shinjin had deemed it polite to stand in the corner and await his regard. He didn’t wait too long however as the Young man entered just prior to the raucous female that followed suit. His first impression was, interesting. Yet not bad enough to prevent his desire to continue joining. The woman seemed defensive of her Master – an admirable trait if ever he saw one! Still, as she asked and his new employer encouraged, Sabanto would turn and bow low in his well mannered black suit.
“Greetings and Salutations Miss! I guess you can call be Sabanto – or Saba for short; I’m one of the new Security Officers onboard the Gamble, as of today – thanks to our benevolent boss here. He’s chimed me in on most of the goings on here. I believe I can-“ Sabanto stopped talking as he suddenly split into four separate versions of himself. Each just as well mannered as the original. As one, they finished their sentence;
“Be of assistance in the current needs of the organization!”

"The ... Family" It might be Official. With one arm still on Flip’s back, now gripping for reasons other than their reunion, Casca hurled insults at the perfectly mannered Shinjin. “ You’ve replaced me! With someone who can do everything,” she finished pointing repeatedly at all four versions of the man who essentially made her role obsolete, or so she thought. Taking a minute to let the men discuss her freak out, she approached Flip’s desk. Various schematics and algorithms with spreadsheets laid about in a haphazard way, fulfilling her fears that the Big Gamble needed help, a lot of it. “ You hired him, Flip,” Casca asked as she kept her eyes on his work, taking in the amount of time he must commit to his choirs alone probably left him with few hours in the day for himself. “ If you haven’t hired him, I will.” Extending two hands for handshakes, the Saiyan apologized for her betrayal. “ I’m sorry, I am loyal to Flip. His mistakes are also mine.” She liked where this was going. Sizing up the four different versions of Sabanto, the Saiyan was impressed. Refraining from asking him his secret, if it was a trick with mirrors or twins perhaps, she gave him the benefit of the doubt. Understandingly a little jealous, Casca tried to make peace with the growing Syndicate. “ Brought this —,” she paused, lifting her arm to reveal half of a champagne bottle, the empty half. “ Flip’s got drink’s in his desk, he always has,” she returned in absence of alcohol. Caressing a vintage bottle, Casca left it up to Flip to decide what it was. Snapping her fingers as she readied six glasses, the Saiyan prepared her toast. “ I want to thank the staff of the Big Gamble, even the new ones,” she coughed in the Sabantos direction, but that wasn’t shade! “ Without them, the wheels would not turn.” Handing out the beverages, the young woman stood in the middle of Flip and the four Sabanto’s as she raised hers to the sky. “ And to the fuckin’ Syndicate, let’s get rich, or die trying!” Tipping back her glass, she maybe already regretted her speech, but heck, let’s go.

Flip couldn't help but roll his eyes at Casca's over dramatic exclamation. "Casca, you have not been replaced. It IS possible to hire someone new, and not have to get rid of anyone, you know." Seriously, the girl was quick to jump to the worst possible conclusion, and jumped to the most extreme solution. Thankfully, she seemed to reign herself in, quickly accepting the Shinjin within the fold. Her emotions could be all over the place, but at least she wasn't flipping out this time. Grabbing the bottle he had been drinking before, the saiyan woman poured each of them a glass, raising a toast to the organization. Flip couldn't help but chuckle. "Well folks, now that we have all this sorted out, let's get back to the topic at hand." he gestured to the Dragon Ball on his desk. "We've got to get this to Nashua for safe keeping. Then, it's just one more ball and we have all of them accounted for." He moved to his desk and took a seat. "But, beyond that, we need to discuss what we're going to do once this is all over."sabanto

The Shinjin couldn’t help but chuckle. The young lady was most assuredly as vibrant and full of life as their Captain had told him. She did, as well, seem to leap from one conclusion to the next with a near ADHD styled leap to each thought; He had to admit, it was adorable in some respects. To a Kai – Mortals themselves were normally not seen on the same level as a peer, but he’d supposed he’d have to change the way he viewed them if he was going to maintain a working relationship proper with them. The Kai remerged into one being, nodding his head in approval to her comment about being Loyal to Flip.
You gotta admit, her dedication and enthusiasm IS contagious
He watched as the young man explained to the young lady how it was possible to hire more than one person for a job without having to fire someone and that caused his chuckle to erupt in full on internalized laughter. He wasn’t sure if he was accurate, but their interactions almost reminded him of a married couple – a pair that constantly bolsters the other through commentary or otherwise – and the idea gave him reason to feel glee.
A glass was shoved into his face by the young Saiyan, which Saba of course accepted with no issue or complaint. Raising the glass in mock cheer, Sabanto would drain the contents with a sour look upon his face. This swill was what they considered good? How…unfortunate. Still, if the camaraderie was anything to judge by, the action alone was more palpable. Flip helped redirect their attention to a more pressing matter. The Sphere on his desk, orange in color with stars somehow embedded within, seemed massive for what it was. His eyes gleaming as the greed in which he found most of his power felt near overwhelming.
A Dragonball! So that’s what Typha was talking about. They are quite luxurious looking.
Composing himself internally, having made completely sure that the very nature of his power didn’t come to light so quickly, Saba would trace a delicate finger across the object. Flip spoke of someone named Nashua, how he wished to get this sphere to her. Perhaps Mr. Fortuna was simply performing a job for the person – having collected or held the ball for them. Maybe it was a ruse? Perhaps he had a greater plan? If that was the thoughts Sabanto had they instantly faded with the commentary of wondering what they should do when it was all over.
It was no secret to the Shinjin, even this high above the planet, that the world below was full of nightmarish powers so large in their scale that even he – a deific being – had concern in landing on the world proper. Perhaps, as Typha had mentioned, the Dragon Ball hunt had gone so underway that such actions like walking among the surface of the world now proved to be a danger to those whom had participated.
Listening intently, realizing that he was asked a question or at least they wanted to hear his opinion (A welcome change from his time in Otherworld). Without much to go off of, the Shinjin cleared his throat and began to speak.
“Well, Sir, I don’t necessarily know if my opinion will be valid. I don’t know what you and Ms. Casca went through to obtain such magical objects – but if I were to hazard a guess I’d say not without issue. I may not have been here from the start of this, but I can very clearly tell you what would happen next…”
Sabanto would turn his back on the two to stare out the ships window. Staring down at the green world, his senses seeing beyond sight, Sabanto would contemplate for a moment before turning his back to the world and reassessing the two before him.
“If we were to continue down this avenue, as it is, we would find ourselves in a situation that we couldn’t begin to crawl our way out of. In short? Even between the two of you and your ridiculously magnificent power, the outcome is too clear. Neither you nor Casca – Boss – are in a position to really do anything against what I’m feeling down there. If I were a betting man, and I most definitely am, I’d say that the wager here has too high odds for any real payout.”
The reality was harsh, mean but truthful. There was truly nothing that the three of them individually could do to in contrast to the massive levels of energy radiating off of Namek. While – again – he wasn’t one-hundred percent sure of everything that had gone into finding the spheres, he knew clearly that this wasn’t a fight that the crew of the Gamble could win. Why lie to them?
“I think we should leave this world and pursue your ambitions elsewhere, Boss.”
Saba offered a smile once again as he bowed low, his coat-tails flapping behind him as the green-eyed dragon pendant on his chest seemed to hum slightly with power. The greed seeping into him from this distance was intoxicating. Too much. Mayhaps this was why he wanted to leave this world, but ultimately it wasn’t up to him. He had a job to do – and one that he would take seriously so not to raise suspicions of his identity. Sabanto had come a long way to get here, he’d hate for his journey to end so abruptly.
