This place was too loud. Mollusc walked down the street a seriously annoyed look on his face. He had heard rumors of a Namekian being around these parts. The one problem was he had not been told where in west city to find him. The city was large and without ki sense, he could not tell the weak from the strong. Sure there was that one part where he was green but he still could be anywhere. The Namekian at least had a place to start. He was hoping to find that he was a member of the dragon caste. His hand went into his pocket as he walked past a store with sunglasses for sale. "Only 1 Zeni for one." He'd smile with a toothless grin. The Namekian put down a zeni and put on the sunglasses. He thought he looked extra meant for business now.
He'd stroll around looking around to see anything that may relate to this namekian but nothing seemed out of place. It seemed to be just a human city with human people. He did notice the everyone an while zoan that walked past that seemed so commonplace for the rest of the humans. The Namekian really didn't know how to react. Guess he really did feel out of place in a wild city. Then again he was the alien who had come from another planet. The Namekian paused he saw a man sitting against the wall. "Hey, you." The man said. Mollusc shrugged and walked over. "Yeah, I've seen peeps like you green skin. Look like a Vegetable." Mollusc nodded, "Where did you see them." The man pointed up north of town as Mollusc nodded. He ran off trying to see if he could find where the man had seen this.
Ulic had been called out from his office earlier that day, as one of his guys needed help getting a store to pay their protection money. This sort of thing wasn’t Ulic’s favorite thing to do, but if his boys couldn’t get the job done for one reason or another, it couldn’t be helped. He needed the locals to know that there were two options - pay the Guzheng Family their protection money (and thus be actively protected from the likes of local gangs like the V-Boys) or sell their businesses entirely to Guzheng (and thus be basically immune to local gangs, but also be in the pocket of an intergalactic crimelord). Today, one of those businesses had decided they didn’t need to do either. Ulic had managed to make short work of that little rebellion with minimal violence and collateral damage.
Now, however, he was taking a leisurely route back to his office to take in the sights of West City’s Bao Town and unwind. He hated going back to administrative shit right after hands-on street work. Maybe he’d go get a drink, maybe he’d hit up a hostess club or the batting cages. Maybe he’d just step into some of the side streets or alleys and see what happened. He hadn’t quite yet decided.
He did, however, notice something surprising - a shock of green against the backdrop of pink human skin. A Namekian was walking the streets, wearing a pair of cheap-looking sunglasses. Ulic paused for a moment, genuinely surprised. Namekians were uncommon here on Earth. He hadn’t spoken to one of his own species since his arrival. Neat.
He'd walk down the road as he turned to pause. He looked around a couple of times trying to see if the man he was looking for was there. At first he didn't spot anything just a void of humans walking back and forth. He'd cross his arms in annoyance. It was really a pain in the ass to try and find someone. He was almost ready to give up when he spotted what he was looking for. A yellow looking man in the distance. From where he stood he could tell what it was a namekian. He'd begin to walk over pushing past the humans who began to grumble as the Namekian paused in front of Guzheng. He'd nod to him, "Lord Porunga i hope is treating you well." He stated with a calm as he looked up into the sky.
"I have much to ask but I assume we want to keep the Namekian talk to another area away from the humans. I assume they cannot understand us." He began to speak in Namekian so no one else around them could understand what they were saying. He didn't think it was important or wise for the humans to hear all of what was going on. Considering there was a real threat to this world coming in the near future, preparing themselves was more important then create a panic, "I'm looking for a member of the dragon caste. I ask if you are of that caste. I wish to find a way to communicate with Porunga."

The other Namekian approached him, unsurprisingly. Ulic had considered saying hello himself, but this guy had beat him to it. However, the Namekian’s greeting was a bit odd to him. Porunga was a familiar name, of course, but a greeting like that was so formal that his community back on Vegeta had mostly done away with it in an attempt to appear more casual around Saiyans.
And then the Namekian began to speak in his native tongue, and Ulic realized that this was about to get awkward. Sure, he could speak Namekian, but it quickly became clear that the Namek dialect and Vegeta dialect had grown quite some ways apart. A couple of locals were looking at them funny.
“H-hey, whoa, o-okay,” he said, trying to interject in the more common tongue rather than Namekian language, “I think you got me pegged a little wrong. I’m, ah, not from Namek. My people originally come from Namek, but set up a colony on a different planet a couple centuries ago. It might be best to talk like this, as I’m only catching about one in three words from your dialect. Also, humans get funny about foreign languages.”
He put a hand on Mollusc’s shoulder and guided him gently towards a side street, where they could speak more privately.
“Okay so if I understood you properly, you need someone from the dragon caste, and something about Porunga. Do I follow?”
Mollusc paused as Guzheng explained that he was not from Namek. He then talked about the colony on Vegeta which he already knew about. He had lived there for some time. He didn't say anything for now as Guzheng guided them to a more proper location. He'd follow him to the side street. "You must be rusty on namekian." He says with a glance, "The Tounge of Porunga should be learned. I came from namek but lived my life in the Vegeta colony. Though I must admit I do take pride in learning the tongue." He'd state with pride, in English this time. He had to remember to study an hour of the language a day. It was important to keep up with the study of the namek tongue. It was just another way to honor lord Porunga.
He'd nod as Guzheng recounted what he had said. "Yes, I need to find someone of the Dragon caste. I wish to communicate with lord Porunga in some way. I am a humble servant of the warrior caste on namek before joining with the saiyan forces to find my destiny. To find the course I must take to reach my potential in the name of Lord Porunga. I have no way to reach namek or go back to Vegeta. So my best bet is to find one of the dragon caste." He'd say to Guzheng with a smile. "Are you of the dragon caste or know anyone of the dragon caste on earth friend."

Ulic listened as Mollusc explained that he knew about the Vegeta colony of Namekians, and had even spent time there. He might have known that, had he been allowed to live his life amongst his own people. He might have known a lot of things - how to speak the traditional Namekian tongue as it was spoken on Namek, for example.
“I didn’t get a chance to really, ah, learn the language I guess. Had some...complications early in life.”
Mollusc then reiterated what he’d been saying earlier, explained why he needed someone from the dragon caste. Ulic was a dragon caste member, but his father hadn’t gotten the chance to really teach him the ins and outs of their traditions. He knew the basics, was familiar with certain names such as Porunga, but beyond that...he had nothin.
“Well, I’ve got good news and bad news for you, cousin. Good news is that I’m dragon caste. Bad news is I have no idea how to contact Porunga, or if it’s even possible to do that on this planet.”
He leaned against a nearby building, shaking his head. The first time he’d seen another Namekian in weeks, and he was immediately gonna let them down. He didn’t really like that feeling.
“That said, I’ve been working on a plan to get back to Vegeta, to get all of us back. I’m not sure it it’s in your destiny, but if you ever wanna lend a hand, I could always use an extra set of strong hands that aren’t afraid to get a little dirty.”
"I see. That is very sad to here. Don't worry." He'd go into his bag pulling out a book with the symbol of one of the dragonballs on it. He'd flip through the pages. "I practice every day as I said. Writing and read the words of namek. I want to speak it so when the day comes I meet my fate with Porunga I know I rest as one of his children whether I was seen as good or seen as evil in his eyes. Such as our fate." He'd bow his head to Guzheng. He'd look up as he explained the good and the bad news. He sighed, even the dragon caste could not find it easy to contact him. "I see. That is indeed sad to hear. Porunga must not want me to ask him yet. All the questions I have, he wants us to find the way ourselves."
He'd turn laying on the wall trying to mimic his namekian brother. Both seemed to want some of the same things that being to get back on Vegeta. Guzheng then went to explain that he needed a hand with a plan he had been crafting. He wanted some help. He needed someone strong who was not afraid of getting their hands dirty. Mollusc paused looking at the namekian as he tipped his glasses looking at him with a serious expression. "I'll do whatever is needed in the name of Porunga. If he asks me to kill myself here where I stand my life would be bleeding out in front of your feet. As long as what we do is in his name, I won't pity myself on those who spirits I must shatter." The namekian said with an eerie confidence. He would go to the ends of the universe for lord Porunga. It was his destiny to be Porunga servant and do what he needed to be done. Even in the end, it clouded his soul. "So tell me what is your plan." He'd said his arms falling to his side.

Ulic looked at Mollusc, then down at the book in his hands, and back up to Mollusc. The man had just professed a willingness to kill himself on the spot, should he believe Porunga wished it. That brand of zealousness could be very useful, but it could also prove incredibly dangerous.
“Okay, let’s get one thing straight first. I don’t speak for Porunga. I’ve never met him, spoken with him, communed with him, none of it. I need you to understand that should I ask you to do something, it’s not a request from a god, but from a mortal Namekian like yourself.”
Ulic looked around, and then led Mollusc further down the side street. He wanted to be a bit further from potential prying eyes and ears for this next bit. He usually liked to have this conversation behind closed doors, but this time it felt prudent to be up front about things. Ulic didn’t like the idea of deceiving one of his own people, even if they’d never met before today.
“You also need to understand that the things I might ask you do to would likely be...of dubious legal and moral nature. If you’re cool with that, then we can talk about this further. If not, no harm done, we can grab a drink, talk about the good ol’ days before the Fleet fucked things up for everyone.”
"I see." He'd bow his head. He didn't take command from anyone but what he assumed was Porunga will. They'd walk down the street away from any prying ears. He'd turn to listen to the rest of Guzheng words. He noted if he was fine with doing things that were maybe illegal and of not moral in any sense then they could keep talking. If not they should get a drink instead. "Hmmm. I will consider your offer. But I will wait for a sign of porunga on it so for now let us get a drink." Mollusc got to his feet. He was disappointed this man had not talked to porunga but he takes in stride. He was one of the dragon castes. He may one day be one of the people with the closest link to Porunga. Envy sparked in his eyes. Why could he not be born of the dragon caste?
He was not born with the magic arts instead with strength. Why could not show his devotion by praying to him and bringing him to the mortal coil? He instead could show his devotion by defeating his enemies. But how did he know that was right? How could he know? He only had to pray for any signs of his will. He'd clench his fist as he thought to himself. His eyes sparked some rage at Guzheng before he paused signing. "I envy you, brother. One day you may be able to communicate fully with lord Porunga. I will only be able to see the signs." He said turning his head. "So where shall we go get a drink. I didn't know the humans had such places. I sorta am new to this culture. I guess that is both of us but you seem to know more than myself." He'd rub the back of his head through one of his fists was still half-clenched.

“Maybe I will,” Ulic said when Mollusc envied his potential to speak with Porunga, “Maybe I won’t. My life ain’t exactly been the kind that would let me worry about that sort of thing. If I do ever get a chance to talk to him, I’ll let you know.”
He began to head out from the side street, gesturing for Mollusc to follow him. No need to hide for the rest of this conversation if it wouldn’t be about potentially breaking the law. Instead, he’d take this chance to help his fellow Namekian get better acclimated to this planet - to the best of his ability.
“I guess I’ve been uniquely equipped for adapting to this place. I’ve spent most of my life around Saiyans and other aliens, so Earth felt surprisingly familiar. If you’ve spent as much time as you said on Vegeta, then just think of Earth as it’s much greener cousin. The people like their food and their drinks, and they can be just as passionate and temperamental as the Saiyans, just without the whole giant monkey transformation thing. That makes it very convenient when looking for refreshments of any variety. So, let me ask you, what are you in the mood for? You want something simple, like a mineral water, or something more fun like a shaved ice? Or are you looking to get nice and relaxed with something with an alcohol content?”
He'd nod as they began to move while Guzheng began to explain more about the earth. He described it as the greener earth. They were passionate but not as strong as the saiyans. It was what he got out of the first part. The Namekian nodded along trying to keep up with the talk as they walked. He then began to explain some of the options for what they could be drinking. He suggested a couple of different types. There was water or some shaved ice. Or they could get something he called Alcohol? He raised his head, "You are going to have to explain this Alchohol to me I've never heard of it. I also stayed away from the soldiers. I did my training to grow stronger. I never really alienated with the culture to tell me. What is Alcohol?" He'd stop turning to look at Guzheng in complete confusion. He really had never heard of it or if he had he never asked.

Ulic smiled at Mollusc, both amused and impressed by his fellow Namekian. Would he have been like this man, had he grown up like a normal Namekian amongst his people? Would he be talking about Porunga and fate and not know what alcohol was? Not that he was judging Mollusc - his life had been different than Ulic’s, and probably not in a bad way. Ulic had grown up amongst cutthroats and thieves and swindlers. Not a whole lot of talk about Porunga amongst the White Gloves.
“Alcohol is...shit, well, alcohol is the result of fermented sugars in a beverage - like, if you mix some water with a bunch of hops and barley you’ll get an alcoholic drink called beer. But what’s more important is what alcohol DOES. And what it DOES is it gets you fuckin’ drunk.”
Ulic paused, and then realized that if Mollusc didn’t know what alcohol was to begin with, he might not have the frame of reference for being drunk - at least, not in the sense that one becomes drunk from consuming alcohol.
“And when you’re drunk, the whole world gets a little bit fuzzy, a little bit wobbly, a little bit warm. Good warm. Unless you get TOO drunk, then everything goes absolutely to shit and you end up passed out in an alley with no pants and a shirt covered in vomit. Not a great time. Now, if you wanna try it, you’re in good hands - I’ll make sure you don’t overdo it. But if you prefer to just chill and have a shaved ice or a slushy or something, I’m totally down for that.”
He began to explain what this substance was. The Science behind it didn't matter much to him. He was a man of faith not of science. He nodded his head to Guzheng as he explained. He then tried to explain what it meant to be drunk. He had heard of Punch Drunk but this seemed to be different. He said everything around them would get fuzzy. It seemed to change how one saw the world? That what he got out of it at first. The Namekian nodded his head once more trying to keep up with what Guzheng was saying. It basically was someway to relax. He did understand why someone would drink it. To space out of the world around them. He respectfully didn't agree with such an outlook. Life only got better when one stepped against it head on.
Mollusc looking at Guzheng. "I see it is some sort of drink humans use to relax or be chill." He said as if he knew what that meant. He didn't at all his face told that much. "Though I think i'll just get some water. I don't think at the moment I need to relax or be detached. With the aroscians, we always wanted to be on our toes. For all, we know they can be following us right now." He says as a joke as he followed Guzheng. They must have been close to this play where one got a drink.

Ulic headed off down the street with Mollusc, considering their options. If Mollusc was just going to get himself some water, there was no need to go anywhere particularly fancy, and bars would probably get pissy if one of them wasn’t ordering something other than water. Ulic, for a moment, was almost stumped.
Then, he remembered that there was a small park - it hardly even counted, really - just a few blocks away. More of a public courtyard between two buildings, it was situated near a couple of decent vending machines and had benches and a couple of trees. Being surrounded by buildings, it also gave some relief from the constant noise of Bao Town. Ulic brought Mollusc straight there, stopping at the vending machines as they arrived. He put in a few coins and selected a cold water for Mollusc, and then a hot tea for himself. Earth, as it turned out, had made significant strides in the vending machine business. Ulic would always be impressed.
He handed the water to Mollusc and smiled.
“The Arcosians might already be here, it’s true. If they’re not, they’re bound to arrive soon. But I know that there are refugees here from Vegeta, as well as the natives and even visitors from other worlds that won’t take an invasion of this planet lying down. I’m working on building a network of people to prepare for that, and to stand against them when they arrive. The Fleet doesn’t own this universe. Sooner or later, they’re gonna get toppled. When that happens, I intend to be there.”
