Maple belted out a screaming whine as the Super Saiyan transformation turned his steel chair into a bunch of burnt steel, hurling back head over heels until he fell on his backside and skittered into the wall, buried in in rolling sort-of soufflé. “I give, I give!” Maple yelled as soon as he caught his breath, spitting out pieces of burnt muffin. Eyes wide, with soufflé piled onto his head, he gawked at Queen Kayen’s strength. He’d never felt anything like it! It was righteous, raw power. Power to destroy. Power to remake the Universe, if it wanted. He shook the accidental dessert off with a rattle, lurching to one knee before the golden glow. “You’re too strong,” He muttered, wiping sparkling black blood from his nose. Even getting hit by the aura had done some damage. “I’m glad there’s not too many of you running around.” Maple watched Kayen with thoughtful, dark eyes. “You could do lots with your power, you know. I don’t think the fighters of Earth could stop you.” He was sure Kayen didn't need the invitation, though. The thought for sure had crossed her mind before. Maybe that's why she was really here -- sussing things out. Saiyans wreaking havoc across the galaxy, burning out as they burned through worlds, now that would help spread some Evil. Would Maple be sad if Earth was toppled by a bunch of barbarous Saiyans? Maybe, if they dusted off McBao’s and some of his other favorite franchises. But how bad could Saiyan food be? |

“You asked for it” Kayen said with a wide smirk as her powered settled and Maple dug himself out of the burned mass of chocolate and marshmallow remaking about her strength as he cleaned himself off of both desert and blood, he like a few before made mention of how much she could do with her power though Maple’s estimate was that even Earth was not quite prepared for her strength. It was a pleasant thought but ultimately too big a gamble. “You can never really tell where Earth’s true power is, they always SEEM weak until someone decides to kick the hornets nest and suddenly you’re in over your head. Zucceta made the mistake of taking her fight to Earth before she was ready. I’ve got a decent idea of where Earth’s fighters rank and the odd’s aren’t ideal” and while she would not say as much to someone like Maple there remained the obvious danger of Ramen’s reaction. The last thing she wanted was to lead some assault against Earth and end up with Ramen standing across from her. “Plus, Earth’s not exactly the best choice. It’s inclined to heavily towards peace and a focus inward, if it was conquered all it’s new ruler would get is a legion of mostly useless civilians, it’s best fighters will either flee or die fighting. There are far more interesting conquests to be had” Kayen gave a wide grin as she thought of her plan, she had a few options on where to go from Raiti, she just needed to see what some of the others thought on the next course of action.

Maple rose to his unsteady feet carefully, still swaying some from the cosmic airbag that’d whalloped his face when Kayen went Super Saiyan. He was still a little jealous about the blond hair. Why doesn’t my hair go blonde when I power up, huh?
Maple had an inkling that Kayen was about to start into a really good monologue, so he rolled out the welcome wagon. “More interesting, huh? So what did you have in mind?” Maple asked, limping over to the ruined steel chair. With a wriggle of magic and crook of a finger, he coaxed it into a less-malformed shape, carefully sitting down in the creaky ruin. It was nice and warm, at least.
He wasn’t sure if Kayen was evil enough for the Stargoons to serve -- but maybe she could be, given time. With the Blood Ruby. He scratched his hair thoughtfully.“To answer your last question -- I’ve seen those stones before, in the Demon Realm and here on Earth. Blood Rubies.” In truth, Maple didn’t know a whole lot about them. They were a passing interest in Demon School, one of the many trinkets they studied in Magic Science class. “There used to be a lot more around, like fluted columns and bronze statues and togas used to be a lot more around, but you won’t find many Blood Rubies anymore -- not even on Arcanazon Dot Com, they’re a bit of a collector’s item,” Maple went on. “Wizards like them because they’re focuses. Like water going down a bathtub drain, Blood Rubies pull spiritual life from an area and concentrate it into energy. Sounds pretty Evil, doesn’t it? But that’s not all. Your mortal body, even a mighty Saiyan body like yours, wasn’t meant to be a cosmic dumptruck, loading up on all this outside energy. So your chi has to compensate,” Maple grinned. “You haven’t turned into a giant, froggy freak like most mortals do when they use the power, prolly because you’ve got so much spirit power of your own. But what happens when you wear it for a long time, I wonder? If you start growing scales, I recommend going cold turkey.”

Kayen gave Maple a wide grin “Worlds that are less invested in peace, that have a higher base range of power, and people more willing to take to battle” she was being intentionally vague, partially for the fun of keeping Maple guessing and partially because she was simply unsure how good of an idea it was to give away pieces of her plans and goals to the Stargoon, if she could get them to stand with her then it would be fine, no risk of her potential targets getting an early warning as the Goons would be involved in the conquest themselves, but if they DIDN'T then there was just as good a chance of the Goons aligning with some of her potential future opponents. Kayen had thought that when he had not given an answer earlier that Maple simply was unwilling or uninterested in giving an answer to her question about his reaction to the Blood Ruby, after all while they were friendly now they were neither friends nor allies, he owed her no explanations, that he had given any sort of warning was more than she could have expected. But as reformed the tangled mess that had once been a chair he gave her far more of an explanation than she had expected, the Rubies were magical focusing devices, that was something that while Kayen did not understand the magic behind it she DID know from experience that that was more or less what her pendant seemed to do. “I guess that all makes sense, I’m not really concerned though, if my power is what keeps it from backfiring on me than I’ve got nothing to worry about. It’ll just be another reason for me to keep pushing forward with my power, plus I’ve had this ruby for months and no scales yet” Kayen said with a shrug stabbing Fateburn into the ground next to her and leaning on it for support. “So out of curiosity, were you actually going all out in our fight? I’m vaguely familiar with fighting Demons, one of my companions is a Demon, I fought him a few times when he was around your power and I got the impression he was able to push his strength further than you seemed to be doing. Is that just a difference between Demons or something?”

“Well, I could have assumed my super tryhard form…” Maple mused, answering her question. “But I woulda smashed the roof off the mall, and they just got new skylights installed last summer.” Maple grinned, standing from the chair now that he’d caught his breath, dusting himself off. “How bout we grab some lunch, my treat?” Maple offered, heading for the door, passing by the utterly shellshocked dojo proprietor. “The sushi is pretty good, for mall food court sushi.”
Figured it was a nice place to put a bow on it. Loved the thread. Let me know if you want another! EXIT

“I’d like to see it some time, if its anything like what I’m familiar with maybe it’ll be able to give me a bit more of a challenge some time down the road” Kayen said giving the Demon a grin, with Maple sort-of confirming what Kayen knew about Demon power she now knew roughly what she could expect if ever the Stargoons decided to take the fight to her. If Maple progressed anywhere near as quickly as Sensoa he would definitely be someone to keep an eye on, but if she could get Sensoa back in order she would just as easily have a counter to Maple’s potential power. Fight fire with fire. “I suppose trashing the roof also would have been a bit much, its basically the only thing we didn’t completely wreck, food sounds good though, just know you’re the one that told a Saiyan ‘my treat’" Kayen said with a smirk following Maple out of what remained of the Dojo and back into the mall proper.
