Yawning, as she fell asleep in one of Flip’s spare spacepod, Casca quietly turned on all her internal systems.
“No,” the Saiyan shot out of her chair as she was immediately met by the coldness of space. Pounding the craft’s only window, the Saiyan continued to plead it wasn’t so, “No, no, no! How could this be!” At first, it wasn’t that she couldn’t accept it, it was that it couldn’t be possible. Looking at the pod’s telemetry, she had already been involved in planetary travel for hours, to a destination that was only a dream. “Why me,” her voice trailing as she looked to a bright, star-filled horizon.
Dread set in, Casca remained pressed to the glass. Misery, uncertainty, failure. Everything, all at once flooded the recently booted up body of the Saiyan as her cowardly exterior began to crumble. Her modus operandi, somehow never the one burned began to consume her. The craft wobbled in its flight as the woman came to the understanding that she couldn’t control any of it. She couldn’t protect her friends, she couldn’t protect her family, and she sure as hell couldn’t protect an entire planet.
Falling through the vacuum of space, the young woman made herself comfortable as she tried to remember how she ended up halfway across the galaxy during negotiations on space prison. She was pretty sure she was drinking, that was a fact. Flip had laid a whooping on her during their training, they probably grabbed something to eat and drink right after. Yeah, she thought, remembering the succulent Saba Chops. And she lost, and as per the deal with Riddley, Casca had to clean the dishes. Cleaning some, and sending the really dirty ones out the airlock, the Saiyan found herself in the hangar.
In all honesty, the luxury fleet of spacepods, that Flip kept in pristine shape, just looked super inviting. Crawling inside, the Saiyan tried to relax as her choirs before they reached the spaceprison had wiped her out. Jokingly, she programmed the ship for Earth as she hoped the negotiations on Knutts would only take a few hours.
And the rest didn’t matter, as Casca was now halfway across the galaxy.
