Leaving Plant had been far more difficult than Korla had expected, not just the actual action of acquiring transport and not getting herself found out by the Saiyans, but the actual choice to leave, to even if just for a little while, abandon her home. It felt wrong, even if the Plant she knew was long dead and broken by the Saiyans it simply did not feel right to leave the ruins of the Capital unprotected, she had been forced to retreat during the war but it was always more a tactical choice, pulling out before the Saiyans could gain too much ground on them. This was in a way running from the enemy. The only thing that made the bitter feeling more palatable was that she was not just running to protect herself, she was seeking others, the few remnants of the Tuffle race who had hopefully survived that she had extracted their departure data from her father’s computer system, of the few she had extracted however it was a simple choice to make on who she would seek out first. Duran. Not only was he among the best warriors she knew, he was the person she trusted most, a friend, a chance at something approximating normalcy that she had been lacking for so long. It was amusing that their most fierce warrior was the one sent to the planet least interested in conflict. Namek was probably the best place for Duran, fewer chances for him to randomly encounter a Saiyan of absurd power, even armed with his Deston devices these new age Saiyans would be a danger to any of them. Her pod made impact and Korla wasted no time pushing the hatch open even as the little medic droid on her shoulder beeped in alarm concerned by everything that was going on, it was NOT fond of these Saiyan ships but there was nothing Korla could do about it, stealing anything bigger would have been too great a risk. “Beep” The medic droid finally calmed down its hectic series of concerned beeps giving way to something more coherent “Yes, we’re here for work, rebuilding forces” Korla explained earning a tilt of the body from the droid as it settled down. “Now lets see if this thing works right” Korla pulled out the scouter she had stolen and done a bit of work on, mostly to differentiate it as much as possible from the appearance standards of the Saiyans. Her scouter picked up a signature near to where her data indicated Duran’s pod would deploy him, with hope he had set up base near there.

Still he roamed this desolate place. Well, in his case it was relative. Namek blossomed with life in every nook and cranny. A vast population, rich history, flourishing nature...But to Duran, there was nothing but danger. The Android had been forced to isolate himself for well over a month now, simply roaming the Northern wastes in the vague hope of something showing up that could prove his escape. So far, every single one of Duran's encounters had proven threatening or outright violent. Saiya-jin crawled around this planet like rats, and the Namekians simply accepted the plague like they were friendly neighbours. Strangely enough, demonic entities were oddly common around these parts too. The deceitful stranger he met in the volcanic lands, and the animalistic Shura. Both encounters had left a sour taste in Duran's mouth, yet his battle against Shura did quench some of his building frustration. Now, Duran found himself atop a hill, simply looking out onto the vast plains of Namek. Hope was starting to grow distant for him. With each passing day, the thought that another Tuffle survivor would come and save him grew more and more dim. Did those pods that he send away on Plant even have life on them? Perhaps the parasites, Droids and mutants within them had died long ago. It had been two thousand years, after all... Duran sighed out longingly. Yet then, in that brief moment of utter hopelessness, the light shined down on him. The glaring light of an Attack Pod hurling itself through the atmosphere, covered in flame and heat as it made it's way straight to the planet. It traveled with such ferocity that before Duran could even muster a thought about it, it had already crashed into Namek's soil not too far from him. A colossal noise echoed out for miles, the cloud of dirt and dust that was kicked up large and floaty. Duran moved quickly, throwing himself from the hill he stood on to travel to the landing site. The Android walked with purpose, stomping confidently and standing tall as he came closer and closer. Deep within him, his Destron Core began to thump heavily. He had no idea why, but he felt like whatever was inside of that pod could spell great things for him. For better or for worse...
Duran stopped his advance a fair distance from the crash site, staring at the crater from a fair distance. There was a figure inside of it, yet Duran couldn't failed to recognize it from this length...
The Android stood motionless with bated breath, hearing his Core pump deep within his chest.
''Stranger!-'' Duran shouted fiercely, ''Face me and state your business on this wretched rock!'' The toxic Destron gas surged through his body as he planted his feet. Duran raised his gunblade ever-so-faintly, wary of a possible attack.

At first Korla was concerned she had made a poor choice by relying on such old data, there had never been any guarantee that he would stick around and it was only the fact that perhaps Duran would not be as willing to branch out and seek out the locals considering just as it had been for Korla while the war had ended centirues ago for the world for them it was just months ago. Perhaps even less depending on how long it had taken Duran to arrive. But as Korla looked around her scouter picked up a power signature and then a wonderfully familiar voice shouted at her even if the words were far from the first thing she wanted to hear out of her friend, this time it was not just hope that was leading her to believe she had found him, Korla wheeled around to face the voice and found it truly did belong to Duran. No tricks, not misunderstandings, just Duran. “Duran you idiot, stop pointing that thing at me!” Korla shouted back at him, leaping from the pod and landing closer to her friend, as much as she wanted to just jump right at him and give the all to serious hybrid a hug she knew better, she looked… different… now VERY different, her voice was the same but there was a good chance Duran would still be wary, he was a warrior fresh from war after all. “It’s me Duran, Korla, I know I look a bit… different, but it IS me, my father did something to me to allow me to survive” truth be told Korla was not entire sure exactly WHAT had been done to her, based off of some of the new abilities she was discovering herself capable of she appeared to be some variation or merger of the Parasite and Mutant projects.

Something about the distant figure's backside caused Duran to feel very strange on the inside. It was a strange swirl of emotions and instincts, something that he himself couldn't even put a finger on. The Android wasn't sure whether he felt excited or afraid, threatened or welcomed...- And so, he simply stood there, motionless and quiet. Quite literally frozen in place. But then, the figure turned around and shouted back... Her voice, the way she spoke his name. His name.
Duran immediately gasped in response, his one organic eye widening as his entire body began to tremble. He slowly lowered his gunblade as the familiar figure leapt closer to him. For a moment, his entire body and mind ceased to function. Shock unlike anything he ever felt before quickly surged through him, yet it only held for a moment. ''Is...Is that...-'' Duran softly muttered, his entire stance quickly relaxing as he could finally let the familiarity sink in.
She had changed oh so much, yet the resemblance was still uncanny. He immediately knew who it was, there was no doubt in his mind. She needn't even say her name for him to know.
''Korla...You're alive...'' Duran spoke softly, letting out a relieved and blissful sigh.
His organic eye began to tear up at the sight of his old friend standing before him once again. After all those years, those millenia they had spent under Plant's rubble together...They were finally reunited. The towering Android's hand shook as he slowly raised it toward Korla. ''I was...Beginning to lose hope...I thought that you would never return,'' He softly placed his hand on the back of her hand, and pulled her closer.
It was times like these that Duran cursed his steel body, devoid of touch. ''But you did...!'' Duran's tone cracked, eye shutting tightly as a tear ran down it.
If Korla would let him, he'd simply stay like this for a moment, allowing himself the moment of bliss for just a little while longer. After two thousand long years, Duran had finally been reunited with the one person he truly felt at ease with. Her appearance had changed, yet it mattered little to him.
It didn't matter at all... She was alive, and that was all that did matter to him.

It was a tense few moments for Korla, she hoped desperately that time had not been so hard on her friend that he would be too suspicious to trust her new appearance, his reaction to her words and her voice did little to immedietly lighten her concerns, he was clearly shocked and while that was to be expected it WAS possible he would see this as ‘too good to be true’ but then his arm began to lower and Korla allowed herself a bit more hope. And as the next few moments passed all of her fear drained away as Duran recognized her for who she was and appeared to hold no doubts on her identity, Korla’s expression broke into a joyous grin as the hybrid pulled her closer to him into a hug, Korla didn’t even realize how much she had wanted this until it was already happening. She had been all by herself for so long, knowing her friends were out there somewhere but not REALLY knowing if they had survived, and just as worse not being able to contact them. “I’m sorry I took so long, the Saiyans… they... they control Plant. It took so long for me to get ahold of one of their ships…” Korla made no effort to remove herself from the embrace, she was fairly certain she needed this just as much as Duran, she doubted he would be at all bothered by what she perceived as a delay in their reunion, but she wanted to make it clear it had always been her first priority to find him. As they stood there a completely irrelevant but nonetheless amusing thought broke through Korla’s thought process causing her to chuckle “You’re still taller than me. I thought maybe this new form had finally put me ahead but you STILL tower over me” In hindsight it had been a silly thought when she had finally gotten a good look at herself to believe she had actually jumped ahead of Duran in height, she’d not been exceptionally tall by Tuffle standards before and even now she was probably a foot shorter than him. As the two hugged her little medical droid scurried it's way onto Korla's back, the droid was having extreme difficulty getting a 'enemy/ally' reading on Duran, its ancient systems knowing full well he was a 'machine' of Tuffle origin but it's life scanners were receiving Saiyan-like readings. It settled for hiding itself away and awaiting orders from it's superior.

This was the first time in months that he actually felt relaxed... All that tension and doubt, washed away in a single instant. The fear of losing the last of your loved ones, the thought of them maybe having never survived in the first place...It was all untrue. Duran finally felt the brisk, calming winds of Namek as something peaceful, rather than foreboding. The silence had kept him on edge the entire time he had spent here, but now? He really did feel peaceful. He held Korla closer, and let out another relieved sigh. ''Sshh, it's okay, Korla...I know.'' He spoke gently, placing his hand on the back of her head. The mention of Saiyans caused a strange, violent shiver to quickly run through his body, yet he did his best to hide it. This was all their fault in the first place. And now, seeing what the Saiyans did to someone close to him. Not him, but someone close to him- Made Duran's blood boil even further.
Although that was quickly forgotten once Korla mentioned their ridiculous height difference. Duran couldn't help but chuckle, pulling back his head to look down at the Tuffle woman. ''Now that you mention it, you do look taller.'' The Android said, trying to hold in another chuckle. ''You don't want to be as tall as I am, though. I was barely able to fit through any doors back on Plant...-'' Duran paused briefly. ''I don't think they were designed for the likes of me.''
A brief silence emerged, simply letting the two stand there and hug centuries worth of despair out. Although, when it was finally time, Duran pulled back and let her go. They couldn't afford to sit around for too long after all. The enemy was on this planet with them, and the chances that Korla knew this were...Slim.
''We'd best find shelter, or get out of here as soon as possible.'' Duran suddenly announced in a much more serious tone, his eyes scanning the plains. The Android's sights briefly fell onto Korla's medical droid, yet he ignored the little robot for now.
''The Saiyans are here, on this planet.'' He'd gaze down at Korla, his gaze deadly serious and filled with dread.
Raising his gunblade, Duran inspected the weapon briefly, running his mechanical hand down the razor-sharp edge as he spoke. ''Upon landing, I was approached by a powerful Saiyan. His attire leads me to believe he was royalty...-'' The Android paused, reaching into a hidden compartment within his Saiyan-inspired armor. He pulled out an ominous-looking syringe.
''Your father gave this to me on the night of the Full Moon. It carries a Tuffle Parasite. I attempted to infect the Saiyan, yet failed.'' Duran sighed out, briefly glancing toward the ground beneath them. The Android stored the syringe back into the compartment, and instead pulled out a small vial carrying a thick, red liquid. ''...I was only able to retrieve a blood sample from our encounter.''
Duran scoffed at his own failures, and stored the vial of blood back as well. He was rambling at this point, and probably flooding Korla with all kinds of information. The Android sighed, aiming to wrap it up quickly so she could digest it all. ''There are more of them here, too. They've also befriended the natives of this Planet.''
The Android fell silent for a moment, gazing out to the distance beside him. ''...We're not safe here.''

For just a little bit Korla was able to ignore all the frustration and anger she had built up since her reawakening, the constant reminders of the destruction of her people and the rise of the galactic prominence of their killers had left her almost constantly on edge and ready to strike, there were few things that allowed her to really relax and even then it was frustratingly brief. Leaving Plant had been very difficult especially since she had not know if she would even find anyone. But for these few moments she was able to ignore that as she simply reveled in the joy of having her friend back. Even Duran’s commentary on the negatives of his height did little to put a downer on her mood. “I guess you’re right, perhaps we can change that in the future” Korla said, she had hope to somehow, some way, reclaim or rebuild things, perhaps this time with a bit more thought put into those not quite the same height as the Tuffles. But as much as both of them might have wanted to put aside all of the negativity they had dealt with for so long Duran soon raised an important point, apparently even Namek was not spared from the Saiyan plague, and with what Korla had discovered it was entirely possible the Saiyan presence was not necessarily something the Namekian’s would be immedietly fending off. As Duran recounted his experiances on Namek and his encounter with some sort of ‘royal’ Saiyan “A parasite...” Korla looked at the syringe with great interest before he stored it away again “We.. we might be able to use this. With the two of us…” Korla trailed off deep in thought, two Tuffles, a single ship, a scouter, and a vial of Saiyan blood wasn’t much to go on but Korla knew just how effective the parasite process could be. Getting some sort of ‘royal’ Saiyan could be big. And then Korla realized she had neglected an important advantage “The blood… we might be able to use that, with a bit of work I might be able to reprogram my Medicdroid with parts of the scouter I stole… give it the ability to track the Saiyan you fought. Together we might be able to take him down, or at least create an opening” Korla said not even paying mind to the danger that they were theoretically in with the Saiyans being friendly with the Namekians. “Even if this Saiyan you encountered is strong we only need enough for you to inject him with that syringe OR a wound big enough for me to work with, whatever my father did to make me into what I am now gave me the abilities similar to the parasites. I’ve already used it once, I’m sure I could do it again.”At Korla mentioning it the Medicdroid scurried out from where it had clung to her back to place itself back on her shoulder, it was still unsure about the new person but it understood social context enough to know it's master appeared friendly with the MaybeSaiyan and had plans that involved it. "Beep!" The droid gave a salute to show it's eagerness for the plan even if it lacked the means to properly understand it.

Duran noted Korla's curiosity towards the syringe that had been gifted to him. While Duran was simply showing it to explain what had happened, it appeared that Korla still held hope to use the parasite. He couldn't blame his old friend, but still sighed as she went into deep thought. Duran wanted to tell her to forget it, that this Saiyan was far too powerful for either of them, but who was he to cut down her hope so quickly after it had resurged? Breaking the silence, Korla quickly explained that they could maybe use the Saiyan's blood to trace him. Then, all they would need is an opening...Still, Duran sighed, uncertain about Korla's idea. It was a plan full of 'maybe's and 'if's, with all signs pointing toward danger. It sounded too good to be true- to easy to be true. What did pique Duran's curiosity was Korla's newly acquired ability that she spoke of. She was...able to infect people herself, now? ''You infected someone?'' The Android asked hurriedly. ''...That's a relief to hear.'' Duran ultimately sighed, breathing out most of the tension that had built up within the recent month. ''I thought that this syringe was our only chance...That if it'd be broken, all hope would be lost...'' The Android's voice trailed off, his eye closing as he sighed again.
''Whatever happened to you, I'm glad it did.''
Moments after, the small floating droid hurried back and landed on Korla's shoulder, beeping excitedly at the Tuffle's plan. Duran briefly glanced at the robot, then groaned inwardly.
''About your plan, Korla.'' Duran turned his attention to his old friend, concern shrouding his features.
''It is dangerous. Too dangerous.'' The Android said sternly, expressing genuine fear as he recalled the Saiyan's might. ''That Saiya-Jin...He was unlike anything I've ever faced. Speed and power I didn't even think possible...!'' Duran hissed, growing increasingly frustrated as he thought further about their brief battle. It couldn't even be considered a battle, really.
''He never even used that accursed Giant form...'' Duran clenched his fists, breathing sharply. His eyes suddenly shot toward Korla, burning with hate and fear.
He hated to admit it, but- ''...We are too weak. We would be killed...''

“Yes, a Saiyan” Korla said with no small amount of disgust “She should be here within a few days, I had her stick around on Plant to mask my escape while the infection ran its course through her brain.” Roma was… strange, as a Saiyan she had offended Korla to her core and to an extent it was hard to seperate the Saiyan she had been from the person she was now. She still retained most of what had made her who she was, but her views and perceptions on the Tuffles and Korla in particular had been completely rewritten. There was ultimately no NEED to maintain hostility toward her, but it would likely take some time for Korla to grow comfortable around the Saiyan. While she did not say it that was another part of why she had left ahead of Roma, the idea of flying with her, being stuck in an enclosed space with the Saiyan felt… dangerous, wrong, and while Korla needed less sleep now that she had once needed she was not entirely comfortable with just putting it off longer just because she was traveling with someone her brain still saw as an enemy. “Everything we do will be dangerous Duran, the Saiyans have had centuries to grow while we have been locked in time. Perhaps we take a bit more time to figure out where we stand with our power and work on a plan, but eventually we WILL need to act. The longer we wait the more chances they have to butcher others, and grow stronger for it” Korla said placing a hand on the large hybrid’s shoulder as he with clear frustration admitted that the Saiyan had not even needed to become an ape, and that they were too weak. “We can also work toward denying the Saiyans some of their advantages, show people, like the Namekians what Saiyans are REALLY like and break whatever partnership they might possess, from what little I have read on the Namekians their ideals do not line up with Saiyan behavior, we can deny the Saiyans their aid and potentially gain friends and allies of our own.”

Korla quickly revealed that the person she managed to infect was a Saiyan. Duran already had a hunch, but to hear the confirmation gave the Android some sort of relief. It felt strange, having a 'Saiyan' on their side now, but on the other hand, Duran would have it no other way. Bolstering their ranks was a top priority, but to infect those that had never wronged the Tuffles felt sickening. No, Duran wanted to infect the Saiyans- turn their own people against them. It was the least they deserved after everything.
Duran couldn't help but sigh quietly as Korla told him the truth. The Android was more than aware that they had to act someday. Perhaps he was just scared to lose Korla once more, now that he was finally reunited with her.
''...You're correct,'' Duran paused with a sigh, feeling Korla's hand on his cold shoulder. ''Apologies. I simply...Fear losing you again.'' He admitted in a soft tone. To hear Duran speak so openly about his fears and doubts wasn't ordinary. Korla had always been one of the only people he felt comfortable enough around to be so truthful.
Korla quickly worked out an idea in her head, and Duran couldn't help but admit it's effectiveness. As was apparent, the Saiyans had spread across the galaxy and allied with numerous races. Korla and his resurgence could set in stone just how gruesome the Saiyans truly are- they could expose those warmongers fully and utterly. Duran straightened his back, and nodded to Korla.
''You really are Satsuma's kid.'' The Android let out with a soft chuckle. ''I consciously chose to stay in hiding, and not speak to any of the natives...But we could simply turn the Saiyan's allies against them. Expose their bloodthirsty ways...'' Duran's voice trailed off. He had never been the diplomatic type. Having Korla around certainly made things easier, though. She could do most of the talking, while Duran could worry about their firepower. Speaking of...
''While diplomacy is important, we should be ready for combat when the time comes, Korla.'' Duran paused. ''The Saiyans could strike at any moment.''
For a moment, the Android grew silent. A familiar face suddenly appeared in his thoughts, and with it came a very melancholic feeling. His eyes trailed upward, to the skies, as he sighed out. After a moment, his gaze carefully fell back to Korla.
''...Have you heard anything from Iyokan?''
She was their ace in the hole. Their most powerful ally, but also...Their friend. Duran missed her.

Korla smiled, she knew how rare it was for Duran to be so direct with his emotions, especially his fears, for him to say as much lent a lot of weight to just how concerned he was, and she could hardly blame him, she’d focused so hard on the IDEA of finding her friends used it as her primary drive without any heed for the idea that regardless of readings that they were out there there was just as good a chance they had not survived. Losing Duran after that was a terrifying idea, but she couldn't let it hold her back. The Saiyans might see the war as over but for her it had never ended and she had no intention of letting the Saiyans maintain their perceived victory. “Part of me doesn't want to fight to be honest, too much chance of losing you. But I don’t think either of us can really just let the Saiyans continue on” Korla let out a long sigh, they would soon need to go over Durans fight with this Saiyan in depth to pick apart what they were capable of now and find any possible weaknesses. “If it helps I sort of did the same, I sequestered myself away on Plant, used the ruins of the capital to plan my escape until Roma popped up, once I had access to her things became… easier.” Duran raised the accurate idea that for as good as diplomacy would be it would not really solve the Saiyan problem, it was just a step in the right direction, soon they would need to fight, and grow strong enough to challenge the Saiyans. This also however pushed up against a potentially sore subject, she was unsure how Duran would take her new strength. She was sure he would be happy for her, but likely would take it harshly how he compared. “Whatever my father did actually managed to make me stronger as well, I doubt my new strength would have done much during the Full Moon but my hope is that it has opened up my overall potential. I’d more or less reached my peak before as far as I could tell” Power had never been her specialty back then, instead she had relied on deception and precise strikes to kill Saiyans before they had a chance to raise their power to defend.

A long and conflicted sigh escaped Duran, who nodded in response to Korla. Part of him also didn't want to fight back anymore. There wasn't a real need for more anger, or bloodshed. They didn't have to journey throughout the cosmos with the looming threat of death following them everywhere. ''Somewhere, I wish we could simply settle down somewhere peaceful,'' Duran spoke softly, his head drooped downward. ''But would we ever be able to really rest? Knowing the Saiya-Jin persist?'' He asked, to both Korla and himself. The answer was already obvious, and he could only sigh in response to himself. Shaking his head, he once again looked at his closest friend. ''We must fight. There is no other option.''
It pained him to come to such a decision, not wanting to expose Korla to anymore tragedy. They truly didn't deserve it, especially her. While Duran was bred for combat and built for war, Korla was just a Tuffle girl. She had expertise in combat, but no person was truly made for bloodshed. The Saiya-Jin, however, were.
...And as much as he hated to admit it, Duran was half Saiyan.
Korla went on to explain her own isolation, all up to the point where she met the now infected Saiyan. Duran made a mental note of her name, and simply nodded in response. ''Atleast we're not alone now. Not anymore.'' The Droid shook his head.
Although when Duran talked about their 'firepower', more importantly Iyokan, Korla seemed to simply ignore their fellow friend's name, carrying on to explain her own increase in power. Duran's head tilted sideways, somewhat confused. Perhaps she was still getting her mental bearings...Or did Korla know more about Iyokan, so much so that she didn't want to talk about her?
...What if Iyokan was dead?
''...Well, you look stronger.'' Duran sighed out absentmindedly. He had no efficient way of knowing just how strong Korla was now, but he could always find out later. For now, the Droid was more than convinced that he still held the superior strength. ''We can...We can test our strength against eachother...-'' Iyokan once again popped up in Duran's thoughts, he couldn't shake it off. ''-Later.''
The Destron Cyborg paused, and then sighed.
Suddenly, he brought a hand to Korla's shoulder and gripped it tightly. Bringing himself to eye-level with her, he'd look straight into her eyes. ''Korla...If anything happened to Iyokan- say you found her on Plant...It's okay.'' He paused, ''You don't have to say anything, I understand.''
Maybe he was assuming too much from Korla's aversion regarding their friend, but...He couldn't help but fear the worst.
''If she is lost, we will find her. If worse...-'' Duran swallowed, but ultimately nodded. ''We still have eachother.''

“Even if WE could rest, the Saiyans would not.” And the last thing Korla wanted was for them to find somewhere pleasant to call a new home, find new people to live among, and then suddenly have that ripped away when the Saiyans inevitably arrived and decided they wanted that planet for their own. Already the Saiyans were apparently beginning interstellar expansion, the ‘Kingdom’ had claimed some pirate world as their own, truly showing exactly the sort of people the Saiyans wanted to associate with. Korla half hoped that her silence when Duran had asked about Iyokan had simply gone unnoticed, that they could move on without needing to further broach the subject, because as much as Korla hoped to find their friend she had some verious serious doubts on their ability to do so. “I… I dont know if anything happened to her, before my father put me in the chamber, when I was on my way to his lab, I made an attempt to call her. So we could all coordinate together, figure out what to DO, figure out if there was anything we COULD do. But… the call did not go through, I don’t know if it was just interference from the attack or…” Korla trailed off not wanting to say what some of the other options might be. “It’s almost worse not knowing, at least with you I had SOMETHING to go on, I was worried about what sort of state I would find you in but I knew at the very least I WOULD find you one day no matter what.” She’d always focused on finding him alive but part of her had known that it was possible something would go wrong, his stasis could have been broken and allowed centuries of wear, tear, and age to plague him. At least she would have known for certain and been able to mourn him. But Iyokan? She was a complete enigma, and one of the few beings on Plant that MIGHT have stood a chance against the transformed Saiyans. But then if she DID it could only be for so long. It was a FACT that the Tuffles had been beaten, which in turn meant that either Iyokan had been destroyed, or went away like they had.

The grip he had on Korla's shoulder softened up as she began to hesitantly explain. So that was how it was... Honestly, Duran could only mock himself for being so hopeful. He thought that if Korla had managed to survive their extinction, maybe Iyokan had as well. But the fact that one of his closest friends had managed to come out alive, didn't mean it'd be the same for the other. Such a stroke of luck wouldn't cross him twice. That'd just be too much... ''...I understand.'' The cyborg sighed out, releasing his grip from her shoulder. There were little words Duran could share, or wanted to in the first place. A long silence came from him. Not just outwardly, Duran also felt silent on the inside. It was like his mind couldn't even fully fathom it; Iyokan. Gone.
Ofcourse, there was a chance that this was all wrong- that she was out there. But could he really allow himself to hold onto such a vague strand of hope? One that could slip from his grasp at any moment, and allow him to plunder into unthinkable sadness?
Suddenly, Duran's focus came back. ''We cannot stand idle. Let's set up camp somewhere closeby. We are likely to be here for a while longer, after all.'' He said in a clear tone, obviously trying to repress the sadness and rage he felt at Iyokan's utter disappearance.
''There is a remote lake nearby, surrounded by desolate plains and hills. I can lead us there, if you're ready.'' Duran stood to his full height, turning around to gesture toward a specific point in the horizon. Afterwards, he'd look back at Korla, before gesturing to her little Medi-Droid. ''He's welcome too.'' Duran forced a grin, one that was hard to spot under his mask. Still, the muscles near his cheekbones perked up, so it was visible in a way.
''If anything, this planet lacks nothing when it comes to natural resources.'' Duran looked out to the plains surrounding them. Although, he paused for a moment, before humming displeasedly. ''Although when it comes to tech...Best we can do is salvage leftover Attack Pods, or raid Saiyan encampments.'' The Cyborg muttered, his voice trailing off as he did so.
Duran groaned under his breath. The pair had a lot of work to do.

Duran took the ‘news’ about as well as expected, even as little as he actually showed emotion it was very clear to Korla that the information hit him hard and it pained Korla to be the one to have to tell him, part of her had hoped that perhaps she could have found something to indicate Iyokan’s survival during her time on Plant, something to give her some direction but there was just… nothing. They remained silent for a few moments, death was not exactly a stranger to them but it did little to change the pain, especially when it came to someone they were both so close to, and the fact that there was no certainty that they SHOULD be mourning likely made it all the worse. Duran was the one to speak up first, his voice was stiff but clear, lacking the pained emotions from just moments ago as he suggested they needed to get going. “You’re right, once we find a good spot to set up we can move our pods there see what we have to work with. I’m not yet sure exactly how much we can interact with the Namekians, if you’re right about there relationship with the Saiyans we’ll need to be careful, I’ll try to do some recon once we’ve got something set up. Figure out if any of the nearby villages have anything we can work with… and if we have any way of actually getting it”Korla realized half way through what she was saying that even if the Namekians DID have technology or other resources they could use there was still the major issue that they lacked anything to offer in exchange. Theft was an option but not one Korla was overly fond of, in spite of their potential relationship with the Saiyans the Namekians were, at least from what she read, good people, the type of species that the Tuffles would have gotten along well with. Medi blinked it’s single eye in surprise as Duran included him turning briefly to Korla before looking back at him, giving the man another series of scans determining that based off of Korla’s reaction and the data realting to his Destron, build, and type of technology used in his creation that he WAS an ally just like Korla. “Beep!” he responded excitedly declaring his joy for being welcome. Korla’s meloncholy was broken at Duran’s attempt at levity and Medi’s joyful response “From what little I’ve seen it seems like quite a pleasant planet, not quite as intense as Plant, the Namekian population apparently is also far more spread out, a few major cities with a large number of small rural villages” the Tuffles had primarily focused on large cities, mostly by necessity as their cities provided relief from the intense gravity of the planet along with the harsh wilderness. “I’d love a chance to raid a Saiyan camp, even if we don’t fight them I think it would be a nice bit of tension relief” Korla said with a smirk.
