"Noise Complaints" Osmosis of the Mind The Saiyan needed to climb less than ten meters but something inside told her it wasn’t necessary. Holding onto the rock face with one hand and two feet, Casca licked a finger on her free hand and aimed it into the wind. If her calculations were correct, the longitude and latitude were sound, and with no one around to her scream. “ Cowabunga,” she cheerfully yelled before dismounting from the waterfall she climbed. Falling backwards, the Saiyan looked to right her body to perform the most perfect, the most amazing cannonball anyone had ever seen. Impacting the water at the exact scientific angle to produce the biggest wave, Casca held her knees to her chest as she went several meters under. The crater left by displacing the surrounding water followed the Saiyan into the deep before backfilling on itself. Gaining momentum as the water crescendo-ed, it erupted like a geyser into the warm southern hemisphere air bringing with it a solid enough wake. Surfacing to see the water as flat as when she first started, the Saiyan was unsatisfied with what the judges thought. “ All zeros,” she joked as she swam back to shore, “ really. Couldn’t get a one or two for trying?” No, she couldn’t, Casca thought as she rebounded out of the water to stand on the shore. Needing to find new heights to climb, she zeroed in on a part of the waterfall she had not explored. Flying to the summit of the waterfall, the Saiyan touched down near its edge as she watched the water walk the plank. “ Guys got room for one more,” she asked as she walked back several feet from the edge. Casca disguised her voice to make it sound like the man who told her about this wonderful spot, “ Oh yeah, people flock from all over to swim here.” The Saiyan looked to her left, saw no one. Looked to her right, more of the same. “ People like to take the kids there because there’s always something goin’ on.” She had to disagree. Taking the return of her echo as an indicator she was alone, Casca let the water really have it. “ Ready or not,” she chanted to herself as she turned back and started to increase her momentum. Racing to the edge, the Saiyan planted one foot on the edge before turning on the Ki. Kicking in the air until she cleared the distance, the Saiyan pulled her knees once again to her chest before finishing her comments form before, “ Here I come!” As a fiery mess, the young woman moved through the air as she made her way to the water. Falling beyond terminal velocity, the Saiyan crashed into the water with tremendous force, this time leaving a juggernaut of a wave pulsing from her point of origin into the water. If there was anyone around, she hoped they didn’t get wet! Or did she?

Thread's PL: 10,000 Anti-Sense: Active
It was nice from time to time to just stop and admire one of the things Earth had that Vangreth had never even imagined in all of his lifespan. Today, as he ended up for some reason losing himself in the Southern regions, into an archipelago of Tropical Islands that truly where something else, completely different from the rest of this world he had seen!
First, the animals were different; most of them looked less dangerous than the huge ones he saw back on the mainland, every one of then was much more colorful, stranger, had peculiar forms and sized, and they seemed to be much less afraid of humanoids! Like for example, that one very long creature that attempted to bite him! Lucky of him, his skin was just too durable for the giant snake to piece it, and he brushed off the creature before whipping the strange liquid it had dropped from the fangs, on his skin, that was inconvenient!
Second, the plant life! While everything was, at least, generally the same green color as the mainland, the craziness about all of this place where the seeds, or fruit, that seemed much more plentiful than anywhere else, which got Vangreth curious enough to eat some of them, and they mostly tasted very sweet and good! Particularly those Orange, Yellow and Green spheric ones, the best of them all!
With all these new information around him, Vangreth spent most of the day just exploring these new lands and having a fun time doing so. But around midday, he had to take a pause, settle down, maybe even meditate a little? So he found a rocky spot, on the shore, where he could be relatively calm enough, the animals didn’t seem to get that close and the noises produced by the waves was calming enough for everything to work out, waves are great!
Then, as kind of a warning, Vangreth heard a few noises in the distance, someone was visibly near him, but it was okay, Vangreth looked peaceful enough, sitting on the warm sand of the shore, enjoying the sun on his kin, the water slightly touching his legs and he felt in harmony with everything around him, until he heard a body approaching high speed and piercing the air; at that moment, he had an idea that this day was not going to go the way the thought it would.
Barely a few moments before hearing something hit the water, Vangreth opened his eyes to a gigantic wave just crushing down on him, and pulling him straight into the ocean. Sure, he could of fought it, but the shear surprise of it stunned him long enough that he simply didn’t. When he finally caught back, he shook his head and bursted out of the water, his aura boiling the water around him as he arose from the water, emerging like an Old God awoken from the sea. Waves where not so great anymore!
The Ancient One looked around, searching for the person responsible for this!

"Noise Complaints" Tomayto, Tomahto
Oh yeah, that must have been huge, Casca thought as she was super psyched by own performance. Returning to the surface seemed to take a while though as she passed schools of fish. Strangely thinking of food when she should be thinking of air, the Saiyan kicked more frantically as she always forgot to use her arms while swimming! The young woman followed the conveniently dotted line of bubbles she left behind to find her way to the surface. This is when she saw something out of the corner of her eye that scared the crap outta her, as she believe she had free reigns to the place. “ Freeeeze,” was what Casca meant to say as she pulled Ki into her hands. Sounding more like blob-blob as she was still so far underwater, the Saiyan watched as the strange shadow came closer to her. At the depths where ears would continually ring, Casca readied for combat, as this clearly was not her element. Leaving nothing to chance, the Saiyan checked her battle armor as she seemed to never take it off. The swirling violet sphere of Ki charged at the tip of her fingers, primed and at the ready if the creature came any closer. Seeing teeth first then the black hole’s that were somehow its eyes, Casca yelled, “ Blob-blob!” Flying through the water more than she was swimming, the Saiyan rocketed to the surface as she projected two short streams of Ki from her hands. Using these rocket hands, the young woman maneuvered to the surface at such reckless speeds she didn’t have time to react to the man floating directly above her. Breaking the water and hopefully not the him, Casca soared into the sky as she extinguished the excess Ki from her hands. Hovering above the water’s ceiling and a dozen or so meters from the shore, the Saiyan covered her eyes to make out whom she might have hit against the sun’s reflection. Spotting the Ancient One almost immediately, the young woman waved desperately as she tried to explain why she vacated the water so fast. “ Shark!” Pointing to the beach with both arms now, Casca needed the man could understand her. The Saiyan’s body reacted negatively as she dropped a meter or two in the sky before catching herself. “ Woah,” Casca exclaimed as she hugged her stomach feeling sick. Maybe it was the fight or flight response or maybe it was surfacing too quickly, she didn’t actually know, but subconsciously, her powerlevel took a hit. Feeling guilty as the man may not know the danger the Saiyan put him in, her powerlevel normalized somewhere around his as she literally saw herself in his shoes just seconds before. “ Get outta the water! Or you’re going to get attacked,” screamed the young woman. Not stopping to think that what she was saying could sound like an invitation to a battle, she continued making matters worse, “ Get out of the water, right now! Or you will die!” She really hoped he got the message as she waved her hands in the air like a crazy person.

Now Vangreth was ready for a lot of things! A giant sea monster that was trying to eat him? Easy! A bunch of alien or Earthlings that would want him dead because they didn’t want people like him around? Of course! The mysterious Shinjin returning to finish what he had started a few days prior to this moment and end Vangreth’s life? Of course he was expecting that… but… what was about to happen when he looked around for the cause of all this commotion… that… he could have never expected something that even got close to what was about to happen, as it was a complete randomized version of events pulled together with a little string of whatthefuckery that was definitively not supposed to happen by any means of odds and logic.
First, there was this Saiyan woman emerging, although she looked like any other Earthlings due to the missing tail, and well, she didn’t have black hair, which was kind of the two things that seemed to differentiate Saiyans from Earthlings other than their massive power level, which, well, at first she kind of had, making Vangreth afraid for his life as he had just basically indirectly threaten that person. He looked panicked for a moment, and then… everything went super, SUPER weird.
The Saiyan woman began to hold her belly and scream like a crazy person, and Vangreth, while still angry that his meditation had been interrupted by a change tidal wave out of nowhere, approached her with the intention of helping; perhaps she had nothing to do with it, or perhaps she was in real danger and she had no intention of harming him in the first place.
Vangreth came to the Saiyan’s aid by grabbing her hand and flying a little higher. He held her by the forearm and looked at her, confused.
‘’ Is there something dangerous in the water? Perhaps something that would cause giant tidal wave?’’ He would ask in a very calm voice, with barely a tiny bit of annoyance in it, which was already a lot for him, but she wouldn’t know that.
Vangreth was also confused that she kept screaming ‘Get out of the water or you will die’ when he was already higher than her in relation to the water, she was perhaps completely out of her mind, but that wouldn’t stop him from helping out.
‘’ You can calm down now, surely, whatever is in the water could not defeat the both of us.’’ He’d say, still holding her to make sure she wouldn’t have this kind of ‘losing altitude’ thing she had a few seconds earlier.
Vangreth had felt with his ki-sensing that her power went from way outside of what he could ever hope to even damage to around his level; perhaps she had the kind of power that allowed her to intimidate enemies by increasing her power, perhaps she could suppress it, and was doing it now, and maybe this could all be an elaborate trap or maybe, in a moment of panic, did he overestimated the power level ? This was all just very confusing, and he had a strange feeling that it was not going to get simpler with time.
'' My name is Vangreth, if that can help.''

"Noise Complaints" Redux
Phew, Casca thought to herself, the man not knowing she was the cause of the tidal wave was a bonus. Looking into the water, Casca saw the lumbering behemoth she avoided switch directions as the Ancient One helped her to greater heights and greeting her more politely than she would have expected. Trying not to crush the man’s hand as she shook it tightly with both of hers, “ Sorry about all that back there, get a little too into things! Nice to meet you Vangreth, my name is Cassandra, but all my friends call me Casca.” Holding the man’s wrist as they shook hands, the Saiyan kept an eye to what was below. “ I was told this was quite a popular attraction! It was disappointing to arrive and see no one was here! Until … I fell into the water after this giant wave caught me and dragged me in,” Casca would take a peek at the Ancient One after every couple of words just to see if he was buying it. “ I heard laughing, saw these kids at the top of the waterfall. Must have been doing cannonballs into the water or something.” Yeah, the young woman thought, that sounded believable! Nodding with her head to move to the beach as her explanation was shoddy at best, the two moved just as the great white shark surfaced several meters into the air, chomping its jaws against itself as it had already missed its chance at the two in transit. Hoping the man didn’t see that, Casca booted the menace in the grill, lightly, before whispering under her breath, “ Not today, bub.” Touching down on the soft sand where Vangreth could have been minutes before, the Saiyan dug her feet deep into its warm embrace, happy to be back on solid land, kinda. “ So what brings you out here besides cannonba — I mean the great weather, yeah?” And it was a wonderful day for the beach! Not too saturated by the humidity as the coast’s breeze carried it farther along the tropics, Casca sprawled out, extending all her limbs. as she jumped in the air and landing on her back. Luckily, falling on a big mound of sand. Possibly destroying a kid’s sandcastle to make her sand-angel, the young woman waved her arm and legs to create a masterpiece. Seeing as the Ancient One may be new to the whole Earth thing, as he had a unique style all his own, Casca pictured the last reason the man came to the beach for was probably a tan!

Vangreth simply accepted all that the Saiyan was saying, after all, he had no reason to ever doubt her even if her story sounded a bit off; who was he to dictate what could and couldn’t happen on Earth after all? He felt the girl’s grip on his hand and wrist and flinched for a second, he didn’t expect her to almost break his hand on such a trivial matter, but hey, maybe that was also a tradition on Earth? Shaking hands very hard to see who was the strongest? But he had missed his opportunity to show that he was not as weak as she probably felt when he shook her hand back, rather gently.
‘’ Well Cassandra, I am glad that you calmed down this quick. It would have been dangerous to stay in that kind of mood with your power potential, something could of been destroyed, or wor…’’ He got cut in his sentence by her just flicking away the Shark, who flew way too far before landing back into the water; Vangreth hoped that it was still alive after doing this little ‘Bird Simulator’ it just went through! ‘’ … st… So, the tidal wave was caused by… childrens? Now that’s odd, I had that feeling that whatever jumped had a rather high power level… perhaps those were… very strong kids?’’ He was starting to realize the plot holes in her story, but still couldn’t grasp the whole thing, as he still didn’t understand why she would lie to him, especially since lying was not so much of a thing back home, or he though so.
‘’ Well, I am exploring Earth to be honest, and I had not ventured around these parts, so I figured I could do a little reconnaissance, map the place in my mind a bit, get a general idea of how things works here, and I’ve got to say, the south part of this planet is quite different from everything else, it is very peculiar.’’
The Ancient One was speaking in a very polite and calm tone, kind of like you’d expect to be treated while at the bank.
‘’ Then well, I saw this pretty quiet and relaxing place, decided to do a little… uh… the translation would be sleeping, but it’s a bit more complicated than that… and meditation is kind of an understatement… somewhere between the two for you, I guess. And well, the wave that got you underwater, you know the rest.’’
He turned and noticed the girl was now making a weird shape in the sand with her limbs. He would look down at her, kind of an adult looking down at a Children’s drawing, trying to figure out what could possibly be represented, but he had a light smile on his face.
‘’ What about you? You must be here for… cannonball… I presume… although I’d like to know what it means, if you don’t mind.’’ He asked, not so innocently, as he had an idea that maybe, that was the thing that caused the tidal wave in the first place, and his suspicion about the Saiyan womann began to grow a little, although he had no violent intentions at all.

"Noise Complaints" Synchronized Diving, sort of “ We all take naps, my friend,” Casca patted Vangreth on the back as she didn’t fully understand the benefits of meditation even though it was probably something she needed. A break. Laughing as she was already on vacation, what did she have to complain about and continued to listened to the Ancient One as he pivoted to the topic of cannonballs. “ Ah, yes, the perfect cannonball. An art form as ancient as the stars, performed only by those who wish to entertain,” forgetting she needed to leave herself out of the scenario, Casca continued, “ what us in the biz call the Big Splash. Extremely easy to learn, takes years of dedication to master. Let me show you,” the Saiyan looked to demonstrate the feat on the sand. Sitting up in the angel she had previously created, the Saiyan motioned to her legs. “ These,” pulling her knees to her chest and with it her legs, “ go here. These,” she waved her open hands at the Ancient One, “ go here,” she exaggerated grabbing her knees with her arms. Holding the pose for a few seconds so the man could see what the perfect form looked like, Casca collapsed her legs back into the sand as she braced her arms behind her. “ You need approximately a meter or two of water, have to be able to jump, and the rest is science,” she commented, actually believing deep down that it was science that was holding her splash back, and it probably was! But not the way she saw it. Feeling the sand under her fingers, a great idea popped into her head. “ Wanna try one? It might make more sense when we are,” she pointed to the waterfall, “ up there. One jump and you’re hooked, that’s how cannonballs work, unfortunately. What do you say? The kids seemed to enjoy it?” Yes, she was afraid of the shark but she only moved in one direction, forward! “ It’ll be fun, I’ll even race you to the top!”

Vangreth was not very surprised that the Saiyan Woman didn’t seem to understand exactly what he meant by this trance he got into instead of sleeping, but he didn’t take it as an insult or anything, he knew that was probably out of her grasp, as she didn’t experience something similar to it or probably heard of anything similar. When he felt her pat on the back, the Ancient One got a shiver, she went relatively close to his collar, and he didn’t like the idea around that at ALL. He took half a step back, adopting a slightly protective stance, although he didn’t want to seem TOO suspicious.
Listening to her talk about cannonballs was… peculiar to say the least. At first it seemed like this incredible feat achieved only by the best, as she said it was an art form as ancient as the stars, and he knew for a fact those giant ball of plasma where old enough for this to be an impressive feat on its own. And then she spoke of it like it was this incredible technique, akin to his people’s Void Punch technique, which was the base of their fighting technique, but could be mastered in something else that could have an incredible potential for destruction… and then… well… she took the pose, and he kind of added two and two together… the noise of something piercing the air, the ki-blast, the jumping… and the wave… it had become quite obvious that she was the cause of all of this.
He didn’t even had the time to confess that he had figured the whole thing out that she was asking him to try and do exactly that.
‘’ Wait, you mean…’’
He said before seeing how happy it seemed to make her, and he smiled for a moment, nodding.
‘’ Alright, I shall give it a try, can’t ignore that if everyone enjoys it.’’
He’d finally say, smiling lightly as he looked at the peak of a waterfall she was pointing at.
‘’ Sure, I’ll race you to the top, just give the signal!’’
He said, kind of excited about any kind of competition, he did not have to understand much else when it came to these. He readied himself, good position, stretched his muscles.
‘’Shall we go on foot? Because flying would make this way too fast, wouldn’t it?’’

"Noise Complaints" Pathfinder Looking at the water and remembering the shark, Casca turned back to the Ancient One to answer his question, “ Hell yeah we are going on foot.” A mad-dash through a rainforest seemed like the much safer scenario at this point in their story, even if the Saiyan was the only one thinking it. Didn’t matter about all the deadly and poisonous inhabitants of the forest, no way! Vangreth began stretching. Casca followed suite. “ Something gives me the idea you aren’t from around here,” the woman blurted out as she mirrored the man during his stretches. Impatient as she could be, Casca again ruined all chance for a conversation as she answered the question but turned it back on herself. “ I grew up on a planet located in the middle of the galaxy,” she didn’t actually mean in the middle, where there was probably a massive black hole holding everything together, but close to it. Trying not to get super personal, as the faces of her family crept into her consciousness, she tried to move the conversation along. “ I’ve also lived on Arcose for a bit, good people.” And she wasn’t joking, she meant that. The two would eventually finishing talking, and more importantly, stretching. “ Well, there are no winners and losers I’d say,” Casca said a little speech to get the Ancient One pumped for the race, “ as the journey can be more important than the destination.” The Saiyan was stalling, tracing the quickest path up the side of the waterfall she could before she gave the green light to go. “ What’s that,” Casca pointed the other direction, hoping she’d get a head start on the competition. Darting into the woods first, as she just left if that plan fizzled out, the Saiyan didn’t even know why she did this. Yes, she was competitive but she didn’t want to win because of a technicality. Midstride, the young woman turned to face Vangreth if he chose to follow the path she took. Tripping over her feet, as this forest had undergrowth too, the Saiyan toppled to the ground, compacting the earth beneath her as she stopped her momentum with her face. Removing the forest growth from her face, Casca let out a deep sigh. “ This is why we can’t have nice things!” Pushing her self off the forest floor, the Saiyan began to trot, thinking this wipeout put her in last place in a two-person race. Gaining momentum to only stop a short distance further, Casca found herself overlooking a ten-meter ravine. “ C’mon,” the young woman proclaimed as she turned around. Several paces away, the Saiyan turned to face the space she needed to clear, by her own merit. Kinda. “ No flying right,” she said to the wilderness as if Vangreth was standing right behind her. Lowering her stance before grounding up the forest floor beneath her, the Saiyan exhausted Ki from her body as she took off towards the gap. Launching herself into the air, the Saiyan climbed into the air as she traversed the distance. Pulling her knees into her chest, the young woman tried to put the perfect cannonball to a real test! Smacking into the side of the cliff, the Saiyan exhaustedly clawed at the rock face, eventually climbing to its peak. Thinking she dodged a bullet, Casca allowed herself to laugh as she doubled over as she was drained already. “ I’m really out of shape,” she shouted at herself, holding her back as if it were the problem. Having learned to fly at such a young age, the Saiyan never realized how convenient a quirk it was. Thinking she’d run more, fly less in the future, she walked the rest of the way. Several minutes later …Walking onto the summit, Casca raised her arms as if she had accomplished a major event. She already assumed Vangreth killed her time trial; so making a big deal about the climb was the next best thing. “ There’s a reason paths least traveled are the least traveled. It’s cause they suck! Next time, I’m flying.”

Vangreth got an honest laugh surprisingly getting out of him as the heard the female Saiyan assuming he was not from this world. It was one of the rare time he actually got the laugh, but this… now… this was just excellent! He had spent his whole time on Earth with everyone looking at him like he was a literary Demon God coming to the world, and others just being creeped out just by looking at it! And this Saiyan woman, coming out of nowhere, simply looked at him and took a moment to realize he was not from here! He listened to her story about where she lived, although he kept laughing until he finally managed to regain his composure, and looked at her with an everlasting smile.
‘’ W-well! Now that you mention it! I come from a far away planet that was isolated for as far as my species can remember. The barrier that was holding us back on our planet only recently began to shatter, allowing me and a few of my clan to go exploring the unknown, in search of… well… places like Earth, actually! So you could indeed say that I am not from around here. Also, what is this Arcose place you mentioned? Sounds like a pretty nice place, maybe I should explore it sometime, in a few years, when Earth will have no more secrets for me!''
The Ancient One was a bit confused by her speech; if there was a race, then by definition, there was a winner and losers, as it was the definition of a competition, but the talk about the destination did resonate with him for a moment, and sent him thinking enough so that when she simply said ‘what’s that’ and pointed in a random direction, he actually turned his head, even though he was not interested in the slightest about what could have been there, at all.
When he turned back to Casca, and realized she had got an headstart, he pushed himself forward with his aura, basically using the same power used to fly, but using it to propel himself forward, still using his feets as if he was running. When he arrived at the ravine, he jumped with the momentum he had built up and caught back with the Saiyan kind of quickly, as he was almost cheating, but his aura vanished as he arrived next to his new friend.
‘’ Well, from where I’m from, this is called cheating!’’ He would tell her, not looking in front of him as he just directly went across a bunch of bushes on his way, some leaves just sticking to him.
Vangreth had simply assumed the ‘right’ path to the race was the one she had took, and didn’t stop himself to think that they basically had gone at the opposite side from their destination, and took a quick turn right through the forest, perhaps he could take a shortcut?
When he arrived, he looked around, having no idea where she had gone, and it took a few minutes still for her to arrive, and when she did, he turned to her and smiled lightly.
‘’ Well, flying would have been over in a matter of second, wasn’t this much more fun?’’ He said in a bit of an excited tone as he looked over toward the ocean, seeing how far they where. ‘’ And the view is always better when you’re on your two feet.’’
Vangreth turned back to the Saiyan and motioned toward the cliff. ‘’ So, who goes first? Want to show my your crazy technique, or perhaps I should go first and you should judge mine? Also, wondering where is everybody that you mentioned where super into that kind of stuff.’’ He simply said as a joke.

"Noise Complaints" Wrecking ball or Cannonball?
“ Now you’re getting it,” Casca put a hand on the Ancient One’s shoulder as she sucked in as much air as a Saiyan/Human hybrid could. Holding her breath to inflate her cheeks to the maximum, the Saiyan squeezed Vangreth’s shoulder as she pretended to be a zombie or alien drone, “ Take me to your leader.” Laughing as she released Vangreth from her grip, the young woman took several steps away as she began to stretch again, this time for real! Taking the time to perform more static stretches, the Saiyan knew she needed to be on top of her game when she showed him the perfect cannonball. Wanting to continue the small talk before she jumped off a cliff, Casca asked the Ancient One, “ I’m sorry about your species. That must have been pretty traumatic for you. Overnight, your world changes and probably leaving you unsure if it was for better or worse. Adventure and terror can often look like the same thing at the beginning, you know?” Partially due to exhaustion, Casca kept her mouth shut while Vangreth spoke if he wished to share. Listening to what the Ancient One had to say was important for the Saiyan. Not only did he traverse half the galaxy but also he and his species did it for the first time! And he was successful! The conversation might have ended there, but Casca’s mind continued to race. With every new answer Vangreth told, she came up with a new question. “ Do you have chickens on your homeworld?” “ Have you ever watched t.v.?” “ Do you like water or soda? Can't be both.” The basic questions anyone asks when they encounter a species unlike there own. The essentials. Laughing nervously as she hoped they were having a good time, the Saiyan pointed at the world around them. “ You came to a really great place. While Arcose has its charm,” and the cold, “ if I could have picked where we were sent, this would have been it. Earth should be on every hitchhiker’s map when they travel about the galaxy.” Casca leaned over towards Vangreth when she was doing the classic butterfly stretch on the ground, knees pointed outwards as she looked to stretch her hip flexors. “ Earf’s got everything. The best food, the best shows, and all the soda-pop you can drink.” And with that, the Saiyan bounded to her feet as she ran out of things to say about the blue planet. “ And the people are nice.” Standing with her foot on the edge, Casca gave credence to the valley below. “ But honestly, a lot of people like it here because of places like this.” Looking out over the stretch of land below the waterfall, the two could see the sun starting its descent, light skipping across the water and adding a certain life to its surface. “ It’s beautiful,” she said as her voice drifted with the summer breeze. Taking a moment to remember where she’s been and where she wanted to go, Casca brought up the topic of cannonballs once again. “ Remember, you need to hold your knees to your chest,” the young woman insisted once again. Naming off all the official rules like splash height verse splash width, Casca still thought she was forgetting something. Touching a hand to her nose as she contemplated all the eccentrics that went into being a professional cannonball. “ And you are allowed to plug your nose with your fingers if you are afraid of getting brain damage,” Casca exaggerated a lot, but sometimes it had some truths in it. Throwing her body off the cliff, the Saiyan turned to watch the Ancient One as she fell backward and said, “ Good luck!” Falling never gets old, the young woman told herself as the wind kicked up as she fell. Turning to face the water, the Saiyan pulled her legs to her chest as she planned to unleashed holy hell on this over sized pond everyone wasn't talking about. Dunking through the calm façade of the water, the Saiyan pulled with her the air from above as she created a void where water should have been. Crashing in on itself before erupting outward in a wonderful splash, still on the smaller side for her liking, the water sprinkling for several seconds before the water returned to its normal state. Waving to Vangreth as she was quick to surface, sharks, Casca yelled, “ Try to beat that! Perfect ten outta ten!”

The Ancient One listened to Casca’s unending flow of things to say and ask, and quite frankly, he was amused by it! She just seemed to be enjoying everything to her fullest and just express everything she was feeling at the most intense way she could, or at least that’s what Vangreth observed from her, and for a moment, he kind of understood how the people back on his home planet felt when he had his own tiny surges of emotions; for someone who was not able to feel things intense like this, it just felt so strange to see someone this upbeat. He thought about all of that, and almost forgot to actually answer her when she was talking to him, and shook his head for a moment before answering everything he could remember.
‘’ Well, you know, my species is really fine, so there is no real reason to apologize, it’s just that we can’t evolve further if we can’t look beyond our planet which in itself, does not have much on it, and in that way, does not allow us to discover anything new or create a lot of things, as there are very few elements. Also, to be perfectly honest, I was never really afraid to take off; exploring the universe and all, it was something that was completely out of my people’s grasp for a very long time, and being one of the first to get to do it, and well…’’ He motioned at all the things surrounding him. ‘’... if you saw my planet, you’d understand why arriving here was probably the most intense thing I had lived at that point, and since then, it just keeps going up! Earth is truly, truly, the most wonderful place I have imagined.’’ His long monologue was over, and he was surprised his newfound friend even held up her own thoughts for so long, but he would regret having concealed her, as she seemed to have another volley of questions for him.
He quickly began to give out quick answers to her quick questions that kept coming.
‘’ No idea what a chicken is, so probably not, but we might have given it another name.’’
‘’ Now, I don’t know what is a T.V. but I’m sure we didn’t have those around.’’
‘’ I barely tasted soda, but I got to admit, as far as drinking is concerned, it is much better than water, so tasty!’’
Then, Casca began to talk about Earth, and said things that well, Vangreth kind of assumed about this place, and was happy that he got that right, although now, he could not hope for a better place than Earth, which somewhat limited his excitement about exploring the galaxy more, but also made him feel lucky that he landed on the best planet on his first try!.
‘’ It also as diversity, acceptance, so much different way of thinking, so much things to learn, ways to learn them, places to discover and well… you said it… people, everyone I’ve met is just so different from one another, this is just so… diverse!’’ He said, clearly, living back with his species now that he had experienced Earth would be much harder than anything else he could encounter on Earth, or so he thought.
When the topic came back to the cannonball thing, Vangreth calmed down a bit and listened to his incredible teacher, ready to learn this incredible technique and surely, he had figured out was just a child’s thing, but hey, if it was fun, there it was surely worth learning! He watched as she just dropped herself down towards the Ocean, and smiled at it as she seemed to enjoy it so much. The Ancient One, after a few seconds, approached the cliff to look down at the result of her dive.
After the ocean calmed back down from the cataclysm she had caused with landing, Vangreth began to try and imitate her stretching, believed that maybe it was an important ritual or something? And then he looked down to the ocean, and had an idea. More distance of falling equals more force of impact on the water right? No cheating though, he would jump with only his muscle strength! After a few seconds of planning ahead, Vangreth took a few steps away from the cliff, and then ran towards the void, and when his feet were one step away from falling, he jumped upward, as high as he could, before assuming the position that Casca had just a moment ago.
This barely made a difference, but he believed it would, kind of the mindset this whole interaction with the Saiyan Female had installed on him, and when he landed, the ocean almost split as it sank with him, sending massive waves in all direction, him being at the center of it all.
The Ancient One opened his eyes after hitting the surface, he was now deep into the water, and he could see that his jump had created a bit of a panic in the underwater world, where the fishes where living. But he really wanted to know what his master would think of that one cannonball, so he flew upward quickly to emerge, and did so until he was completely out of the water, levitating above it, his feet almost touching the surface.
‘’ How was that out of ten?’’ He said playfully.

"No Complaints" Risk’it for the Bisc’its Waiting for the Ancient One to take the dive, Casca reflected on how cool it was they both like soda. Two people, from opposite ends of the galaxy, could agree that pop was good, low in calories, and only provided a boost as long as you needed it. As long as that was like ten minutes, as her tolerance was high! But what was new, she had an addictive personality combined with her completive spirit meant a sore loser. No warning as Vangrath cleared the cliff face, the man soared through the air like he’s done this a thousand times! Upset at herself for explaining her secret technique maybe too well, she watched in horror from the water’s surface as her competitor raced to meet her. Getting flashbacks from her childhood, Casca watched her personal best be eclipsed immediately. “ Not again,” she managed to mumble as she started to get pulled into the wake. Changing directions as the water could not make up its mind, the Saiyan was thrown atop the wave as it carried her away from its breakpoint. Riding the wave never or whatever the Earthlings were calling it these days never occurred to Casca as she fought against the wave. Taken a great distance from where she originally landed, the Saiyan remained in the water as the Ancient One hovered above. Allowing only her eyes to be present above the water like an alligator, Casca listened to the well-intentioned Vengrath ask how he scored. Whispering the results, “ Eleven,” more like ten times ten, she tried to downplay his success at a sport that took years to master, not one try. “ Your feet,” she popped her head out of the water, “ gotta tuck your feet in. Might have forgot to tell ya’ that.” How you tuck your feet in, no one knew as Casca floated to meet Vangreth at his level. The Saiyan left the medium drenched in defeat, not water, or so she thought as she gave the Ancient One a high five if he had four fingers and a thumb. Already over the competition, Casca tried to explain a high five. “ We smack hands, like this,” she clapped her own to demonstrate, “ with friends when they do something really cool, like you just did.” She tried to swing for another high five, whiffing if Vangreth had not caught on to what she was trying to put down. Thinking her best cannonball days were behind her, Casca offered up a happy medium. “ Now, that you know the cannonball, it is time. Time to learn what is the jackknife?” Several Minutes Later …Having learned her mistake from last time, Casca gave a quicker rant. “ You hold your knee to your chest as you stomp into the ocean as if it stole your lunch money, got it?” Standing back on top of the waterfall, hopefully with the Ancient One or she was crazy and talking to nobody, the Saiyan took no chances at losing a second slash third time. However she looked at it, the jackknife would be the key to her redemption. A thin vile of Ki condensed on the Saiyan as she booted up, calling up some of that Saiyan pride for this rematch. Veins pulsed in the young woman’s legs as her body began to carry her forward, pulling the ground with every step. Leaping into the air and off the ledge once again, Casca cried as if it were battle. She moved toward the water with the grace you’d expect, none. Failing her arms, as she had not totally thought this through, the young woman bailed on her attempt, smacking the water squarely on her back. With only a small horizontal splash and only a few meters or so in height, the Saiyan floated on her back looking up at the waterfall from where she came, distraught how it all went wrong. Finding the strength to yell one final objection to the Ancient One, Casca warned him, “ Do what I say, not what I do!” Who was she, she thought, lying on her back. " Or do whatever you want."

The Ancient One was surprised at how she seemed to be a little angry at first that he managed to do this one right, but did not felt any shame; it was mostly luck, beginners luck, even he was aware of that universal law that seemed to transcend logic itself just to annoy people when they attempted to show off their skill in something they’ve been training forever to someone who’s first time was going to be much better than the following three thousand before getting it right a second time. When he heard his note, a smile brightened on his face as he approached her to meet in the middle.
‘’ Well thanks, although I don’t believe you can have eleven out of ten, that doesn’t make much sense, or perhaps you are exaggerating to celebrate my beginner’s luck? That combined with your incredible technique, I was of course going to succeed! ‘’
He said with a little bit of excitement in his voice, kind of like doing this kind of silly things just… awoken something within, kind of like this side of him he didn’t get to explore much, and was not discovering a whole lot, and quickly. He chuckled at the correction she gave him about his feet, and didn’t feel like really fixing anything, he had caused enough destruction with his first wave already, so maybe he’d stick to more average performance from now on… maybe…
When the high five came, Vangreth completely missed the first, going as far as trying to dodge it, perhaps it was to text his reflexes? A bit confused, he listened to the Saiyan’s explanation, and felt like it could be a funny thing to do, and on the second time, his hand met with hers with a loud ‘clap’ sound, it felt pretty satisfying! It seemed like a pretty simple gesture, but the results were there, and he looked at his hand for a moment with this surprised look on his face.
‘’ High five uh, I like that !’’
He said before hearing of the second trial from his master, and with a different name too! Well, he was completely in!
After a few minutes spend re-climbing the cliff, which he still wondered why they didn’t fly there? It would have taken a few seconds at most. But he did say it was funnier that way, so maybe she took that to heart?
Vangreth listened to her explanation of what a ‘jackknife’ was, and seemed a bit confused, as it seemed to be kind of the same as the cannonball, and was curious about the actual difference between the two.
When he saw her performance, the Ancient One was even more confused! Was it supposed to do that kind of results? She seemed pretty unhappy about this when she resurfaced too, and her words only seemed to be generally disapproval, although he could not hear over the distance and the sound of the ocean waves crashing below.
He shrugged, what could possibly go wrong with this? He prepared himself, stretched a few times before, and then jumped without thinking about it a second time!
In the air, he held his knee to his chest, and them wondered if that was all he needed to do? I mean, she didn’t seem to have given him more explanation than that, so he closed his eyes and prepared for impact, once more.
This time, the waves were much less powerful than the former; his confusion, lack of jumping and all around misunderstanding of what the jackknife was supposed to be seemed to have affected the results, and he emerged once again look at Casca, shrugging. This time, he stayed in the water, only his head emerging, it just felt refreshing.
‘’ I don’t think I understood this one as well as I did the cannonball. Sorry for failing you master.’’
He said in a joking voice, swimming a little around, by instinct of course, as he didn’t quite knew how to swim, he was mostly using his flying and pretending, kind of like a children learning how to swim while being held by his parents.
‘’ You do this often? Like, all the diving and stuff? You really seem passionate about it!’’

"Noise Complaints" Change of Venue Spitting the water from her mouth, Casca flipped herself over as she watched the Ancient One perform her techniques with ease, again! Believing she had created a monster capable of doing anything, the Saiyan laughed shakily as she tried to sound normal. “ The student has become the master,” she said pretending to christen him with her arm as if he was a knight. Hearing Vangreth mention her passion for the sport of competitive freefalling into water, the young woman had to think about it before she answered. Yes, falling was fun. Failing wasn’t. Possibly being too harsh on herself, the Saiyan opened up to the Ancient One. “ You know, I think I do these things to take me back to a place in my past, when things were easier and I had less responsibility,” she said, almost laughing at herself when she talked about responsibility. The few she had she rarely did, making it harder on the people around her. And she knew this but for some reason remained selfish all the same. For so long it had been just her, anti-social behavior was to be expected. But was it? “ Are you hungry,” the young woman asked as she waited in the water with who she believed was going to be a life long friend. Feeling her stomach turn as she had not eaten in a few hours, Casca didn’t want to leave Vangreth behind, unsure if his family had traveled with him to Earth or not. Feeling the need to be better, as she often preached to the people taking on her responsibilities, ironically, she thought what better way to end the day by spending it with someone she felt she could help or at least make him feel like he was home. And she meant like really help, as in helping him assimilate more into Earthling culture if he so wished, starting with the most important meal of the day! The current one. “ I know this great joint just up the road,” it wasn’t but Casca automatically thought that Vangreth could fly. “ Plenty of soda for the both of us! I’d love to hear more about your people and you gotta see how Earthlings hunt for food, its so funny.” She had a lot of things backward about Earth, one of the things was the belief that every Human hunted in stores these days, arriving at a window to stake their stakes. The fast-food industry amazed her, a pocket world where she thought the animals were in the buildings alive before she ordered for them to be fried in grease. Leaving the water, the Saiyan hovered while waiting for Vengreth to make up his mind, she was close to not taking no for an answer. Remembering incorrectly that there were chickens or not on the Ancient One’s planet, she added, “ Half off chicken wings during happy hour. Not that I expect you to know what happy hour means, but if you don’t know, its twice the amount of food for a quarter of the price!” She did the math wrong but her message was true. “ There’s these things called drumsticks! If you thought cannonballs were cool, wait till you try these,” her voice trailing as she started walking towards the food destination, “ you coming?”
