“I’m sure it’s possible for some individual Saiyans to be decent or even friendly. I simply doubt that the ‘pursuit of good’ is particularly linked to the Saiyan species as a whole, a handful perhaps, in the same way another species might have a comparatively small number of truly despicable people. The problem of course comes through with them as a whole.” Korla clarified though kept herself from going on too much more, Oboe was already in a rather tenuous state at the moment and pushing TOO hard had the potential to cause a snap and either drive him away by seeing her as too pushy with her viewpoints or potentially even more disastrous pushing him to do something dangerous AGAINST the Saiyans. Korla was nowhere near comfortable with accidentally sending the leader of Namek into conflict with the Saiyans potentially alone, with how dangerous they were it was entirely possible that if they defeated HIM they would then move on to take action against Namek as a whole and Korla did NOT want the blood of an entire species on her hands simply because she had been over eager to bring Oboe to her side. Korla was half ready to respond to as Oboe confirmed that he was unlikely to take any direct action right now, his people weren’t ready for a conflict with the Saiyans even if they apparently knew the pain of losing their home, Korla briefly wondered how that had worked out, perhaps it had not been war that had taken their last home? Some other sort of cataclysm would allow a means of escape. But those thoughts were put on pause as he mentioned not underestimating the value of their ‘magic wish orbs’ “Your what?” Korla would have assumed that Oboe was joking but nothing he had said lended any context to any sort of joke in his statement other than the strangeness of the statement, perhaps it was a joke that required more active knowledge of Namekian culture to understand?

Korla seemed to be controlling the conversation with her narrative for quite some time, that is, until Oboe began to speak on the Dragon Balls. The curiousity evident in the womans voice gave way to the realization that perhaps, for the first time in a long time, he’d met someone who hadn’t heard of his planet’s most powerful and mystical treasure. How exciting for him! It wasn’t common that the Guru of Namek was given the opportunity to speak on things pertaining to…well…Namek! A look of thought crossed the Namekian leader’s face as he considered how he’d explain his planet’s most prized possession.
“I see! You’ve not heard of them. How fortuitous! I do so love granting others knowledge on our history and ways!”
Oboe would smile as he held his staff close. The words began to come to him without much hesitation as he began to explain;
“You See Ms. Korla; A Long long long time ago, before the foundation of our current society, our people were nomadic travelers from among the stars. Our original homeworld had been besieged by a terrible drought and we lost most of our kind in the process. From this painful spat with extermination right on our doorstep, the wisest and most empowered of us all stepped forward with a solution to our plight. Using his mighty magic, the wisened sage created seven mystical spheres that housed tremendous power! When gathered together, the seven orbs would summon forth a mighty Dragon – Named Porunga – which would grant the person who recovered the orbs, 3 Wishes of their choosing. He would eventually become our First Guru and with those wishes were were able to establish ourselves anew!”
With the history lesson over, Oboe would look to the distance and frown;
“That’s the reason there have been so many lifeforms on Namek recently, specifically the Saiyans and Konats. I restored the Wish Orbs and, like moths to a flame, they all came running for the hope to get their dreams made by wishes. Though it’s a moot point now…most of the orbs have already been gathered by the four most powerful people on my world right now..”
Oboe kept the fact that he was one of those four to himself. With Korlas passionate dislike of the Saiyans being what it was, the Namekian was wise to the fact that revealing he’d worked alongside Tarch and Nashua to recover the Dragon Balls would probably set the other off. Still, for someone to not have known of the wish orbs was surprising. Oboe would sheepishly add;
“…to make it clear, the wishes can be just about anything within Porunga’s cosmic power. Restoring planets, reviving the dead, even granting power to a need or person. There’s not much he cannot accomplish when asked. I find it surprising! I had thought you had also come to our world for such things, I apologize for such a hasty discernment. I’ll be aware of how few actually HAVE heard of them for the future.”

Korla stared at Oboe with an unchanging look of confusion as he went on to explain the ‘magic wish orbs’ comment, however the longer he spoke on the subject the less Korla felt she actually understood. Understanding the whole ‘we were a nomadic race whos home world was destroyed by drought’ thing was easy enough. It made sense, perhaps something had gone wrong with their home world's orbit around its star causing it to get too close and of course drying up the planet. The confusion stemmed from everything AFTER that, magic was not an entirely foreign concept to the Tuffles but it was something generally written off once Ki manipulation was reasonablyunderstood. Most of the Tuffles concepts of magic were easily explained through an understanding of how to manipulate internal energies. The Tuffles had discovered a myriad of ways to augment their low power with technology allowing them to exceed the limitations inherent to their use of Ki. Since her awakening Korla had discovered her previous barriers in terms of how strong she could get, and thus how much energy she had to manipulate, were FAR greater, in fact she was reasonably certain her current power, absurd as it was by her old standards was not even close to her new peak. She simply needed to get back to training to put that theory to the test. But even her own higher power was nowhere in the realm of what she would consider ‘magic’ there were still clearly defined limitations and even some of the feats she knew others with greater power had accomplished were still within those limitations. Magic just simply made no sense at least to her understanding of it, and yet Oboe claimed with complete seriousness that an ancient Namekian Sage had created, through magic, a being, and that being could grant wishes without any clear limitation at least based off of that Oboe had said. It defied any sort of logic of how Korla understood things. Just when Korla was about to start rationalizing, that perhaps this ‘dragon’ was not as absurd and broadly powerful as Oboe had made it sound, that perhaps it was simply an alternative way for the Namekians to reference some sort of technology, he went on to clarify what it was capable of. Restoring planets, making others stronger… reviving the dead… Korla’s refusal to believe Oboe’s words halted at that, and where her rational brain wanted to refuse the idea… another part of her WANTED the dragon to be a reality. Perhaps it was the key to fixing everything. “Did… did you say reviving the dead? I dont... none of what you have said about this Dragon makes any sense to me, but please, please tell me this is not a joke, or a myth.”

The lackluster facial expressions on Korla’s face almost led Oboe to believe that she wasn’t giving any merit to his tale. He couldn’t blame her, the story itself seemed extremely outlandish. Who truly could believe in seven mystical orbs granting any wishes you want to exist? All in all it simply sounds too convenient and far too fantastical. Yet, even still, this was a true story and Oboe continued to speak it with conviction and persistence, he continued his tale until – suddenly – she interrupted him asking about the seriousness of his words. Perhaps she was believing more than her face gave hint to.
“Every word I’ve spoken regarding this topic is true. Why do you think there are so many warriors from Vegeta on this world currently? Did you think they simply came to throw their weight around and buddy around with our people? Nay…” There was a sadness in this comment, especially near the end, but Oboe realized maybe he needed to show some proof.
Reaching into his robes, Oboe would remove a small circular object – mechanical in nature. Green glass embedded into a designed screen like that of a radar would be visible. With a simple press of a button, the seven dragon balls on Namek would suddenly blip to life showing several distinct energy signatures outlined over a rough map of the planet. Smiling, Oboe presented to device to the Alien to prove his point.
“This is a Dragon Radar, a wondrous device I picked up on Earth. What you’re seeing here currently are the Dragon Balls. You’ll notice most of them are gathered in one place, that’s Nashua – she’s been assisting me in their collection. The goal is to bring a few of the warriors who died on this world in defense of me back to life…as well as restore some of our land from the damage done.”
Smiling, Oboe would return the Radar to his robes. He hoped that had sufficed in helping Korla believe in his tale. Still, that didn’t simply end off everything that was on his mind. Korla’s relation to the same race as Kid had left the Guru of Namek thinking; How could he be of assistance to this displaced person and the rest of her people? Without a home to return to, where would they go? Did they have a place to go? Frowning, Oboe considered before speaking – having a solution but not wanting to come off too strongly.
“M-Ms Korla. It occurs to me, from your story, that you and your own may not have a home to return to. What’s more, Im not sure if there are many survivors of Planet Plant but…if its of any help…” Oboe points off towards the East near the Mori Capital. “The Tuffle I’d met previously, Kid, I’d gifted a small unused village for his needs. I’d be honored If you and your own would make that a…refuge for those who have survived the same trials and tribulations you described. After all, its in our nature – as Namekians – to offer whatever assistance we can when capable.” Oboe would end that with a smile. He knew it was a strange offer but he hoped dearly she would take it.
He wanted to help wherever he could..

Korla’s hopeful expression only briefly broke as Oboe referred to Plant as ‘Vegeta’ a brief look of disgust crossing her expression, but the fact he was still actively claiming that everything he said was not simply legends but a reality and one actively being pursued NOW gave her just a bit more hope. It ALSO brought great concern as she realized that THIS was likely why the Saiyans had such a vested interest in Namek and its people, their wish orbs, it was a truly terrifying concept that the Saiyans had access to such things, how exactly could they ever actually compete with them if the Saiyans could simply grab up these items and do… whatever they want, if they DID manage to take down some of their stronger warriors they could potentially be revived. In theory it was possible they could even be used to undo the Tufflization process, it would of course require the Saiyans to be aware but that was essentially just an inevitability one day the Saiyans WOULD know the Tuffles were not quite as dead as they believed and would get suspicious about any of their numbers who sided with them. Oboe produced a device that apparently tracked the wish orbs, or Dragon Balls as they were apparently called. Korla pulled herself out of her thoughts to inspect the device as Oboe held it out and activated it, it was small and sleek with little on its outside to provide information on its functionality beyond the screen a single button press produced a radar like effect that displayed the current location of the Dragon Balls, if she had to guess it likely homed in on some sort of energy they produced. It was a VERY curious device, the sort of thing the engineers of Plant would have LOVED to take apart and learn from. Korla was more interested in its actual practical applications and perhaps tangentially how to if possible integrate it into her existing equipment. With the Radar placed back in his robes Oboe had yet another surprise for Korla, he offered her an entire apparently unused village, something he had apparently offered to the mysterious ‘Kid’ though he had clearly not taken up the offer. “I.. that is an immensely generous offer Oboe, I have to check in before I agree to anything though. I’m not alone currently and some of the others are… more hesitant about interacting with others, moving ourselves into an established area presents the risk of discovery” technically it was just her and Duran right now, Medi too though the medic bot lacked the capacity for an opinion on such things, but it was best, even with as friendly as he was, to obfuscate the exact numbers they had. What she said WAS true however, and Duran was almost certain to be wary of the offer.

The guru would nod at the tentative agreement. He could understand not wishing to make such a momentus decision without the ear of those you were allied with. As Guru, he went through that very same thought process on a daily having been expected to make every call for the good and safety of the Namekian people. It was in that understanding that Oboe nodded and accepted the tentative response. He would not rush it, nor would he force it. Namek was expected to – in times of need or hardship – open its arms to those in need and offer to help find viable solutions to their issues. Be it with the Dragon Balls or not.
“I understand Ms. Korla. Please – take your time, I need not a response right away. This offer is extended to you and yours – no matter how many – for as long as you need it. Perhaps, in time, we could use the Dragon Balls to aide you further. I simply ask that if you need anything – from me or my people – that you simply ask. We’ve had far too many incidents where those who needed simply took and – judging from your story – I don’t think that you would be one of them.”
The Namekian easily felt a kinship to the sad state of affairs that the Tuffles were in. His father had explained to him before how their homeworld had been destroyed by numerous external forces before which led to some of the darkest times in Namekian History. As he thought upon her commentary about not wishing to stay in one place for too long out of fear of discovery, the wizened sage decided to alleviate that concern immediately with his own words, hopeful that they’d carry the weight to help convince the other of his seriousness.
“…If you decide however to take me up on this offer, know that those whom occupy this world are under my Direct Protection. Though I may not look like much…”
For a brief moment the world around them grew quiet, a deafening sound of silence that not even the wildlife interrupted. A small gust of air would pick up around the pair as Oboe nodded towards the others scouter. In a split second, for only the briefest of moments, Guru’s power would surge upwards to the near millions before settling back down to its dull natured readout of ‘5’.
“…I assure you, I can more than handle the task. To this I give you my word – even in the meantime – as long as your on this world, No harm shall befall you or yours so long as no harm befalls mine. A truly adequate understanding that Im sure you could relate to yourself.”
Feeling confident that his desires were expressed and his dedication to this assistance was felt, Oboe would grip his staff and bow low infront of Korla.
“…I look forward to hearing your decision and meeting more of your own. Though I hold no thoughts to the contrary of this arrangement – I do hope you take it for what it’s meant to be. A second chance, a fresh start…and maybe in the future we can discuss in further detail how this will impact our world’s interactions with the Saiyan Kingdom…I believe…I may need to make a pilgrimage to your former homeworld sooner rather than later and have words with this “Queen Kayen” I’ve heard so much about…Till then, I’ll keep our interactions to myself. No need to place unwanted attention on you and yours.”
With another warm smile, Oboe would stand and turn his back to the woman – a risky maneuver with a strange – before heading back towards the inside of his village. Left hand raised in departure as he expressed his goodbye silently. He truly hoped the Tuffles would understand the gift he was offering them and would take to it as it seemed they’d need. Who knows! Perhaps there would be something better for Namek in this arrangement. They were not a technologically sound people, perhaps the Tuffles were! Maybe they could assist in the restructuring of their world! Time would tell.
For a Brief moment, Oboe reaches deep and pushes forth the power of his second transformation - clearly spiking over 1,700,000 Power level for the briefest of moments before using Energy Setting to return to 5. This was not meant for intimidation, merely shock and awe.
