CHROMO'S PL: 1,976,000 (x13P | 152k BASE)
Chromo's narrowed sights remained trained on the saiyan, though he found a frown tugging at his jaws at her first comment in response. "...Urgh, I know how that is." Whether it was her wish-stuff for the Dragon Balls or his failed attempt to push away his pain, Chromo didn't get what he truly wanted often- sometimes he didn't even know what he wanted. He still knew next to nothing about her, but the Bio-Android had began to find some things to relate to, further quelling his anger.
The bug's eye twitched slightly as Nashua seemed to deem him as "not a threat"- Oh, he was powerful AND threatening alright! Though his puffed cheeks and childish pout faded as quickly as it came. Right, he wasn't here to pick a fight... Unless this actually was a trap and he was being stupid, but Chromo decided to cross that bridge when he got there. Trusting the merit of the little character he'd seen from Nashua so far over more concrete evidence felt off to Chromo. This could easily be more lies, but she was generous enough to give him some food only a minute earlier... What to believe, though...?
Chromo glanced to Nashua, the Dragon Balls, and then around the area. His eyes trailed past a nearby boulder... There wasn't anyone else around, so this couldn't be an ambush... "...Alright, alright, whatever. I'll... I'll do whatever I gotta do for the thingy." Not solving things with power felt... off. He was just glad nobody was here to see this. They'd never let he, the great, powerful, and bloodthirsty Chromo, live down listening to the sappy words of some weird lady that he could totally beat. He uncurled from around the Dragon Ball, rolling it next to the Nashua's own. "...But if this actually is a sneaky trap, then you can bet I'll bite your stinkin' nose off!" He hastily added on, though his tone lacked the ravenous tone it did before, taking on a much-less threatening, childish whine. Chromo had been calmed- but for how long?
"Whuh?" The saiyan spoke up again, claiming she already had a wish for him? Was she actually a future-seeing psychic or something that planned to meet him in advance? Possibly! His pondering wouldn't last for long before Chromo's face turned blank with shock, his entire body freezing like a statue as Nashua uttered Kohlra's name. His yellow skin turned a few shades paler at Tarch's name. Waterfalls of sweat dripped down his face. How did she know?!
And in the most unconvincing, rapid, tone with clearly and most obviously the worst cover-up attempt in his entire life, "oH nOoOOO acTUALLy I WASJUSTGONNAWISHFORHETAPAND- AND STUFFANDAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-" Busted.
Chromo managed to put a lid on it, smacking himself across the face and shaking his head again to try and bring himself back. ".....y-yeah." He admitted with a quiet, sorrowful whine only the saiyan beside him would be able to make out. Rubbing his watery eyes and pretending like nothing had happened, Chromo cleared his throat again. "And you coulda' told me EARLIER that you were a hecking psychic seer person!" He yammered again. Despite his intense tone, the Bio-Android was more shocked and nervous than angry.
"Or......" Slowly, Chromo's mind began to load another possibility with the speed of a very outdated computer. Maybe she wasn't a psychic. That weird saiyan girl that reminded him of Tarch said something about another kid going off to find a way to revive his mother... And he was here doing the same thing, and if Nashua heard it from someone else, then that could mean... While he stared at nothing in intense thought, Chromo could have sworn he saw something- or someone- in the skies above. Right now, he was far too busy trying to finally put the puzzle pieces together to think on it much, though.

How Unexpected. The two figures he’d been the most worried about – sped all the way to the Outer Plait to reach – had deemed his presence a nuisance. Unwanted, unneeded and a bad addition to an already potentially volatile cocktail. It’d be insulting if it wasn’t so danged laughable. If Oboe had been thinking clearly, he may have considered that Nashua could handle herself. That Tarch was here as well and could support her. For all his wisdom, for all his knowledge – Guru was still just as much a youth as those assembled below him. If there wasn’t the potential threat of conflict over the Wish Orbs, if there wasn’t the need to ensure that Nashua and those Dragon Balls in her charge were protected so to wish back those whom had died? Perhaps he’d have never interfered.
Still, as he reached out with his thoughts, through a combination of energy sensing and telepathy, he could tell that the situation was slowly, but surely, calming and that Nashua seemed to have the issue under control. If his feelings had been hurt by a combination of two of his allies asking him to leave? It didn’t show. Even still, with the situation resolving, Oboe couldn’t just very well leave the pair to deal with whatever may come on their own. Even if whatever may come wasn’t hostility, there just wasn’t a good feeling to be had for someone who was supposed to oversee protecting both this world and its Dragon Balls.
Adhering to the initial warning, Oboe began to ascend higher and higher – hiding among the clouds above while keeping his energy under control. Listlessly floating within a thick cumulus fog, obscured by its thick white fluff, the Guardian of Namek, its Guru, would reach out with his mind once again to respond to his allies, and maybe one-day, potential friends – careful to ensure he didn’t reveal himself during this tense talk-down.
I hadn’t followed you – specifically – Nashua until I felt the strange surgence of energy. I couldn’t in good conscience leave you to shoulder my dutiful responsibility alone. Though I know you to be the strongest person I’ve ever met…I am of use in my own ways. Though luckily enough it seems that those needs aren’t necessary. His tone was apologetic in the mental voice the echoed within Nashua’s mind – his message for the pair clear as day. Turning his attention to Tarch’s statements, he continued;
I see…So that’s the one who caused you such tremendous pain. I can understand the situation, it seems this is a ‘family’ affair if I’ve ever heard one. I can understand now why this has caused you such pain…and why your energy felt so off.
Oboe understood the gravity of the situation finally. Maybe he had acted too rashly with his approach, having truly had no real reason to come other than to offer Nashua assistance if she’d been under attack.
But She wasn’t under attack…you simply thought and as such you reacted. You do that a lot it seems… Steno’s voice echoed in his own mind – possibly detected by the other two as Oboe hadn't quite closed the connection. He chastised himself for his own decisions. Now – with his current position where it was, he wasn’t necessarily in the most optimal location to beat a hasty retreat. Not without revealing himself and potentially making the situation worse. Lucky for him, the Guardian’s memories were just as accessible to him and it was here, among the outer plait, that he was able to come up with a compromise.
Nonetheless, while I respect both of your assessments, I believe the time for a hasty retreat may have passed. If I move too quickly now it may be seen, or construed as an act of aggression. Neither, can I, simply leave. I will acquiesce however and instead maintain my hidden presence and – with the movement of this cloud – slowly I should be able to make my way to that large plateau nearby…I know there’s a crevice atop of it that I can hide within. I-I’m sorry. I didn’t mean to be a nuisance. I simply wanted to help. I will do my best to maintain my distance and stay out of the issue, though If I’m needed I’ll just be…here. Oboe’s tone sounded…sad. Maybe them both simultaneously asking him to leave had more of an impact? No. It was the feeling of being useless to everyone and anyone whom had come to Namek as of late. The Guru found he was more in the way than a help, a hassle and a hindrance. Was he meant to feel this unwelcome on his own world? No. But the situations unfolding upon her surface weren’t necessarily “Namekian Problems”.
With great caution and care, Oboe maintained his extremely low – nearly undetectable – Power to a dull level and lazily floated within the cloud he now hid within. In a short time he’d be above Tarch and the stone he was taking position behind, perhaps he should join him? No. He had to make his way further away so to ensure the creature wouldn’t think that the Namekians were also against him. If his volatile energy earlier was any indication – such a misunderstanding could be disastrous for his people. Maybe this had warranted more thought than he’d originally given it…

So this bug's name was Chromo? That much was revealed as Tarch talked back to Nashua through their telepathic link. It also became clear that, apparently, neither Tarch nor Oboe had explicitly followed Nashua, rather they had both just happened upon the signal of the Dragon Balls and feared she may have been in danger when they detected Chromo's power level. "Don't take it the wrong way," she quickly urged them both when they each seemed offended that she told them not to interfere, "I greatly appreciate that you two were so considerate as to come rushing to my aid, but I'm you can can both understand where I'm coming from in my hesitation to avoid startling Chromo. There's a chance to resolve this peacefully, and I would not want to jeopardize that chance." If they both wanted to stay and watch 'just in case', then... Fine, but she was going to have one heck of a facepalm if that somehow ended up backfiring.
As for Chromo himself, well... "Wh-What is it?" a surprised Nashua quickly replied as she flinched back upon his sudden screaming. Was he always this... Hyper? Nashua could only assume the answer was yes as he finally, and much, much more quietly, admitted the truth - Yes, he was trying to revive the very same Kohlra Tarch had been seeking out. "Oh, I'm not a..." Nashua started to say, though she just decided to go along with it after a moment of consideration. "Why, yes, I can see through my psychic powers, that..." Nashua shut her eyes and placed one finger on her forehead, with the other palm outstretched towards Chromo's head. "...That your name is... Chromo! And you're..." What else could she 'conjure up' here?
"You're... Not actually so bad, aren't you? You were... Probably told to be bad by other people, right? Or you grew up around bad people, so you thought you had to be bad, too?" It was kind of a broad assumption, to be sure, but it was something Nashua had seen to be true for a lot of the bad guys she'd met. They weren't bad as a product of themselves, but of their upbringing and the ones around them. Heck, if Nashua had grown up surrounded by pirates like Kayen had, she almost certainly would've ended up a ruthless pirate herself. "Well, you might think it's too late, or too 'lame' to be good, but I can tell you firsthand... It's never too late, and there's nothing more rewarding."
Nashua glanced over at the area she was pretty certain she'd seen Tarch's ki flare up for a moment earlier, and added, "And sometimes, though forgiveness is a very hard thing for people to come to grips with, it is the only proper way for both sides of the struggle to come to terms with, and move past the sick feeling thinking about it gives you." Tarch was smart enough to pick up that that message was equally meant for him as much as Chromo, Nashua had to hope. "So... Do you happen to have any Dragon Balls on you? In case someone truly nasty comes along, I wouldn't mind watching over it for you to keep it safe. I'll be sure to let you know when they've all been gathered for the wishing."

Tarch grit his teeth. How was he supposed to leave his two best friends, practically his older sister and younger brother alone? He couldn’t. He wouldn’t. Not until he was sure that this little meeting went smoothly. The best worst-case scenario was that the teen just wastes some time hiding behind a rock and watches everything from the sidelines. But what if he leaves and Chromo decides to attack? Who would he even help? No, no he could not leave without being absolutely sure things would be okay. He could not leave Chromo all alone again. He couldn't lose another family member.
“No!” his mind shouted back at Nashua, “I’m not going anywhere! He’s my friend and so are you! I’m not leaving either of you! Besides, if anyone would be here it’s Mr. Oboe! This is his planet!” It didn’t take an empath to tell that the guru was feeling left out, maybe even useless in this situation. Tarch just couldn’t help but come to his defense too. If it wasn’t for him, Tarch would be blindly searching the entire planet with no radar.
However, the young hybrid did manage to calm down, and before his power could flare up again luckily enough. He’d take a deep breath, taking a moment to clear his head of all the frustration and fear swirling in a slowly building maelstrom of building panic. Luckily, Nashua’s psychic jokes were enough to replace the smile on Tarch’s face. Hopefully, it would be enough for Chromo.
“I’m... sorry I yelled at you… I’ll go and-” Then Nashua asked for the ball. Tarch froze halfway from getting up. Now Tarch knew his best friend. He was dumb but trusted no one, not even himself. So having this random woman just asking for the dragon ball could be a potential disaster. “Wait no! Don’t ask for the ball! Oh jeez… Sorry I know I literally just said I’d go but now I’m afraid he’ll think you’re trying to trick him! If he gives you the ball or at least doesn’t freak out I’ll go I promise!” He just had to make sure he wasn’t leaving his family alone to kill each other.

CHROMO'S PL: 10,000 (x13P | 152k BASE)
Chromo chirped in curiosity and awe. A real psychic- just like those in the games he played before! He was skeptical for a brief moment while still trying to latch onto his previous train of thought... But the fact that this lady knew his name also was all the proof Chromo needed, and all it took to drift his attention away from the possibility that his former friend wasn't as far away as he thought.
Pacing around, Chromo stopped beside a nearby boulder, foot firmly planted on a crop-up of oddly spherical earth. His antennae perked moments later... Was that breathing he'd just heard? Right on the other side of the boulder was Tarch, and the Saiyan would clearly hear the close patter of the beetle's four legs. He turned and eyed his surroundings one last time. No, there wasn't anyone else here. If there was, his swarm would have alerted him. He had to just be being paranoid...
Chromo narrowed his eyes at Nashua as the "psychic" seemed to be reading his mind. If she was trying to learn where he'd hidden all of his "borrowed" snacks, then that would owe a finger bitten off along with her nose... Though, her insight was far more poignant than that. Chromo lowered his gaze and slumped his shoulders. "...I-I don't know." He sighed. "They... they were pretty bad, b-but they are-- were my family." Even if Virus had done things Tarch would have been disgusted at, even if his mother had betrayed him, and in spite of the fact that everyone else tied to CURE had long since vanished or died, he had been fond of each one of them at some point in the past. Regardless of if he was "bad," he was happy.
He was created to be bad- to bring destruction under his family's control. But now that they were gone and he'd long since tried to stake claim to his own path, what was there to do? The concept of "good" seemed so fickle. But if Nashua really was a psychic, then she had to be telling the truth, right? Tarch had said he wouldn't forgive him before, but the saiyan had still ignited the faintest flicker of hope in the beetle's soul, if his wide, almost sparkling eyes were any indication. "...M-maybe." He couldn't work up the will to say it aloud. "I've been trying, but it's..."
It didn't feel good. Being good was supposed to feel good, but he still felt lost and alone. "...It's hard." His vocabulary wasn't expansive enough to put his emotions into words. "S-still trying, though!... I think." He hoped he wasn't doing anything worse, at least... Still, the appeased monster would finally lower his power and his stance. In spite of everything, his goals and hopes felt the slightest bit closer now.
At the mere phrase of "Dragon Balls," Tarch had began panicking telepathically, though the bug remained ignorant. As he was mentioning how Chromo would think Nashua was tricking him, the bio-android glanced to the small mound of mud beside him. "Oh, yeah. Duh. Right here." Though he was taken a bit off-guard by the question, Chromo wasn't hesitant to show his Dragon Ball. With a flap of one of his wings, he dispersed the dirt to uncover his three-starred orb. While he still had his worries, Chromo pushed them aside and nudged the Dragon Ball next to Nashua's pile. "I'm, uh... Usually around here. There's a big mountainy place I usually stay in, so uh... Just yell and I'll come. Though we're still missing, like... two more, I think?" If someone that wasn't as nice as Nashua had a Dragon Ball and encountered Chromo... well...
"Also, uh... What even is your name?" She could read minds, but he couldn't. Chromo was putting as much trust in Nashua as he could, but... He really, really couldn't shake off the feeling of being watched now. "And... Ugh, like-- I-I still feel nervous. It's just..." He stuttered. Part of him wanted to leave the question alone, but he could not shake off the worry, no matter how hard he tried. "Y-you aren't hiding anything from me... Are you?" His words weren't accusing, instead taking an innocent, apprehensive tone. Little did he know what two people were hidden so plainly in sight...
Now calmed, Chromo gives Nashua his THREE-STAR Dragon Ball! Be sure to accept the trade, nerd. [UT1] Sugarcoat lowers his Power Level to 10,000 as well.

Nashua’s thoughts did alleviate the situation some, though Oboe still felt concerned about the goings on below. Nevertheless, he maintained his distance and kept his presence as hidden as he could so to not antagonize things further. His prodigious hearing serving him very well as he listened intently to Nashua acting the roll of a Psychic to calm and sate the bug creature’s disbelief and suspicion. He could appreciate Tarch’s defense, but said nothing to retaliate or otherwise. As the minutes ticked by, it seemed as If Chromo would acquiesce and give Nashua his ball for protection. Atleast in that regard, good things did come of this.
I’m glad this seems to be resolving peacefully…I was concerned, of course, for the safety of both of you as well as my planet. Im glad it’s not dissolving into something…worse. I'll keep my distance for now and leave as soon as it's convenient. I apologize for jumping the gun - I shouldn't have come.
The voice echoed throughout their minds – a biproduct of his telepathic connection – as Oboe decided that his presence may not have been needed any longer. However, even if he wanted to leave the area right away he was kind of…stuck. Short of influencing some sort of wind – which was out of his abilities – to push the cloud further away until he was out of sight, Oboe was kinda...stuck. Still there were worse places to be then inside a cloud. Gave one time to think.
Nashua had handled the situation well, and Tarch had done his own part in restraining his actions to just staying out of sight. He had no doubt that the older of the two had the right idea that everything was potentially capable of devolving into a violent encounter with what seemed to be a confused…well…child. He suddenly could understand why Tarch hesitated to hold a grudge on the one who had taken his mother. How could you really be angry at someone when they couldn’t truly grasp the wrong of their actions?
Relaxing within the cumulus puff, Oboe would satisfy his lack of ability to do anything more by just meditating and keeping an ear/sense out for the actions below. With his power level so low, and his physical form hidden, he hoped things would remain calm. After all, he wasn’t neccesarily a fighter – but a healer…and while his magic was able to restore those who were harmed…he never really wanted to have to use it.

Well, that went better than expected. Despite Tarch's apparent panic that formally asking Chromo for the Dragon Ball he carried would set the bug off onto some kind of rampage, the bug was surprisingly adult about the thing, and instead openly offered the big orange ball to Nashua, who had to find some slight humor in the fact that it was nearly the size of the bio android's entire body. "See? Don't worry, it's all fine now," Nashua thought back towards Tarch in a reassuring tone as she nodded towards Chromo and picked up the medium sized orb. "And don't worry, I get it - I grew up with Saiyans, after all, and can you think of a race more well known for its... 'Divisive' history? That doesn't mean I don't love my parents, but they aren't exactly the kind of people I hope to be someday, if you get what I mean." Nashua could find herself genuinely relating to Chromo's sentiments about knowing those he grew up with weren't exactly the best - but loving them regardless.
Chromo just kind of hung around here? Nashua glanced around the not so beautiful crags of the Outer Plait, and had half a mind to suggest Chromo come bunk out in her ship instead until they make the wishes, but she was pretty sure she'd run out of a budget trying to keep him properly fed within just a few days of inviting him along, if his earlier appetite was any indication. Oh, right - Chromo still didn't even know her name, and he didn't have a Tarch cheat sheet to know it, either. "My name is Nashua," the Saiyan replied, placing her hand on her chest and bowing her head slightly towards Chromo. "I... Don't actually have any proper last name, so just Nashua is fine. Or, some people call me 'Ms. Nashua'," she added with a glance toward's Tarch's bush.
Despite the insect's nervousness about the situation, Nashua herself was feeling quite confident that they could go ahead and resolve the whole thing without any major conflict, now. They just had to track down those last Dragon Balls! "Of course I'm not hiding anything from you," she earnestly replied. "Certainly nothing you should be concerned away. And don't worry about meeting Tarch and Kohlra again when we revive her - I'll make sure you two don't get into a row and can talk things out properly." She gave Chromo one last smile, before bowing her head towards him again in goodbye as she started to make her way over towards the ship. "Oh, and - if you do find the last Dragon Ball in someone else's hand, please don't kill them. I know you're better than that." With those parting words, Nashua entered her ship, and placed the Dragon Ball down, before, provided nothing else happened, she took off into the sky and back towards Oboe's village.
That had gone better than expected, hadn't it?

Finally, a relieved smile spread across Tarch’s face. It seemed Nashua’s speech from before really struck a chord with the little bug. How could it have not. Heck, it even struck a chord with Tarch now that he calmed down as well. Maybe he could one day forgive little Chromo? Better yet, maybe he could forgive himself too. Only time would tell. First things first, he owed Nashua an apology.
“I’m sorry I doubted you Nashua. You really are the best!” If he hadn’t of been hiding behind that boulder, he would have jumped out and hugged her. Of course, he’d be risking another kiss from the older saiyan. Already Tarch was blushing at the mere thought. He shook his head clear. “I’m gonna go, we still got one more ball to look for! And don’t worry. If I run into Chromo… well I’m not gonna hit him… too hard…” but would they forgive each other? He so desperately wanted to. So why not? There was an entire circle of logic he could loop through for hours before coming to a conclusion. For now though, he had a dragon ball to look for.
“I’ll see you around best buddy,” the teen murmured to himself before quietly taking off away from the camp. As he flew off, he’d give the former campsite one last huff. This place brought a lot of bitter memories for him. Today was not one of them. This proved that He and Chromo could very well make up one day, and go back to being friends. Now all he had to do was bring his mom back and see how she felt about the whole affair.

Chromo knew next to nothing about the Saiyan history Nashua briefly mentioned, but her treatment was something he could agree with to a degree. "Well my mom killed my dad and all my siblings, so." He awkwardly muttered, still glancing away. To say his family was a sore spot for him was an understatement when all but one of them were dead. It would be so nice to say hello to Virus again once he got his wish, though!
Nashua, as he learned the saiyan was called, was still nice enough. He narrowed his eyes slightly as she eyed a certain saiyan's hiding spot that he was getting suspicious about earlier... Though she did say she wasn't hiding anything. His eyes remained slightly narrowed, but Chromo would sigh and nod in response. "...Please don't make me regret this." Perhaps it would have been a safer bet if he'd just stolen the Dragon Balls when Nashua wasn't looking- but he'd never know for sure now. For now, he'd stick by his choice. But if even the kind saiyan turned traitor, well...
Chromo shuddered at the thought, turning away from the saiyan to part ways. He swore he saw a trail of ki departing the scene high in the skies... Was that really his imagination acting up again? He wasn't sure. With one last chirp, the beetle took to the skies with his swarm in tow. He shook the Dragon Radar in his claws. There were just two more to uncover, and he had to be the one to find them both... Though perhaps one wasn't as hidden as he thought it was.
He'd deal with those worries later...
Chromo exits as well. Everyone's now DE-free!
