Thread PL: 7,538 Mt Frappe, a place notorious for its intense cold. Legends about this place had spread amongst its populous, from freezing fire, to having a grudge against women. So when Ochra learned of this place, well, it just made perfect sense to go there to train. Regular exercise was one thing, but adding endurance training in the extreme cold was another thing entirely. Strengthen the body to take anything thrown at you. Ochra had already endured a lot throughout his life, but one could never stop rising. The heroes of the past never did after all. As Ochra touched down on the cold snow, he immediately felt the cold sting of the wind on his skin. His muscles tensed up reflexively from the sheer cold. This was perfect. His breathing forming thick clouds as it escaped his lips. The snow was coming down rather heavily, making vision difficult. It looked like there may be as now storm on the way. This was just getting better and better. Seeking some rocks, he removed his jacket and scarf, resting them atop them and pinning them down with another. No sense in losing them in this weather. He took a few deep breathes, letting the icy air hit his lungs. He brought his arms up, throwing a couple of punches to warm his muscles up. A couple of kicks to loosen up his legs. It was a bit slow at first, but as he moved more his muscles began to move more freely, his body heat rising to compensate for the cold. As he moved, Ochra began tapping into his ki. The air around him rippled and waved as heat started radiating from his body, his body moving faster and faster as he started getting to a rhythm. Belladonna Atropa

Seriously?
Like, really?
Belladonna couldn’t believe it. Just down the street from her apartment, near the edge of the city that opened up towards Mt. Frappe she stood with her hands tucked into the pockets of her jacket and a bewildered look on her fair features. Even for her warm blooded self today was a chilly one, hence the padded coat, a large PT emblazoned on its back. Cozy and warm in the soft jacket, the biting wind wasn’t what had her expression contorted. No, what had her attention was the lone signature that she sensed up in the mountains. What the hell was someone doing up there? Couldn’t they see the front moving in, the dark clouds that threatened to unload?
Just the other day, literally, she had ventured up the mountain because she thought someone was in need of help. Luckily and thankfully her worry was misplaced and the fellow had just slowed down to take a breather. Frustratingly enough though she was now faced with the exact same scenario. In silence she had stood, senses focused on the fluctuating energy signature in an attempt to gauge if the individual was alright. Sure the rise and fall of someone’s energy levels could mean nothing beyond exercise, but it could also mean they were in danger. If the latter was the case, how could she not investigate?
A proud member of the Pride Troopers, the redhead held no qualms about rushing to the aid of others, but that didn’t mean disbelief couldn’t take hold of her. Why in the world were people always going up that mountain?! With a sigh she fished her phone out of her pocket and several quick swipes brought up her weather app. The latest report indicated that the storm would hit in several hours. That was for the city itself though; Mt. Frappe would get hit sooner. As she eyed the predicted amounts she knew she couldn’t just go back inside. If whoever this was got trapped up there things might not end so well.
”If I catch a cold, people are gonna be sorry.” She mumbled before she tucked her phone back into the warmth of her pocket. For the second time in less than forty eight hours she took to the air and headed for the upper heights of the mountain. In the back of her mind she contemplated erecting a sign in the coming days. Something along the lines of “Don’t adventure alone” or “Wait for warmer weather.” Probably wouldn’t do any good. At a steady pace she closed on the mountain, its heights not so intimidating when flight was available. The air cooled even further and the wind picked up, enough so that she pulled her hood up over her thick locks and horns before syncing it tight under her chin.
Thanks to the decreased visibility she wasn’t able to see him until she was relatively close and she couldn’t believe it. Bella’s boots touched to the cold snow with a loud crunch as she called out to the daring warrior.
”Hey! A storm is coming, did you know that? Call it quits for the day, yah?” She shouted as a gust of bone chilling wind whipped around her. Dedication was a trait she admired, but when it became borderline foolishness there was something to be said. If he wanted to get in a good workout that was fine, but literally anywhere else was a better choice. Saiyans, right?

The wind was starting to pick up, the bite of the wind stinging against his skin. Ochra had to squint his eyes to be able to see a couple of feet in front of him. He continued to throw his punches and kicks, almost like he was fighting the very weather itself. His breathing was growing ragged, more from the extremely cold air hitting his longs than anything else. And it seemed like the real storm hadn't hit yet. Just imagine the test it would be when that came about. But then he sensed something behind him, a power stronger than his own. As if to punctuate it, he heard a feminine voice shouting over the wind at him, telling him about the storm. "It seems whenever I'm training, I always attract someone's attention." he sighed to himself, his words drowned out by the growing winds. He lowered his arms and turned around to see who was behind him. He was surprised to see a young, red haired woman. Quite pretty too, all wrapped up for the cold in the stark contrast of Ochra, who was walking around shirtless. The saiyan hybrid looked down at her. The woman was hiding some significant power. But there seemed to be something else. Something was off about her, but he couldn't put a finger on it. "I know of the storm!" he called back to her, loud enough for her to hear, "In fact, I'm counting on it. This is endurance training to me, more than anything." As he looked at her he got an idea, a smirk appearing on his face. "You're welcome to join me if you like."Belladonna Atropa

Shirtless? Did he know anything about hypothermia?
Bella refrained from shaking her head as the details of his form poked through the obscured mountain air. Of Saiyan blood like his signature indicated, the male seemed to possess that common Saiyan bravado. It was likely why he didn’t have a shirt on. To get a better look at him she stepped closer, boot prints left in the deepening snow behind her. Even through the whipping wind she could see the definition in his tall frame, red tattoos decorating the honed muscle. Was it growing warmer or was it just her?
Only several long strides away from him as he called back to her, a small frown curled her lips downward. Shockingly he knew about the storm yet chose to remain here and went as far to invite her to join him. In this weather? No way.
Bella found herself in combat often enough, but unlike many warriors she didn’t spend incredibly amounts of time conditioning her body. Fighting was something that at times was unavoidable, but she wasn’t exactly a fan of it. Saiyans on the other hand usually beat the hell out of one another just for sport, even the females. Long story short, she wasn’t a brawler and she wasn’t particularly keen on the idea of slugging it out in the snow. Yet, she did want him off the mountain. How many strong warriors had braved elements only for their bodies to fail? When cold took over and the mind began to numb, even the braves of warriors could fall.
”How about you join me?! Why not come back down the mountain.” She suggested and then after a short pause offered, ”And then when we are somewhere safe I can show you what I’ve got.” It wasn’t exactly her style to go around accepting challenges or making them, but if she was reading him correctly, he wasn’t just going to pack up and leave without coercion. Hopefully her offer was enough to get him to concede his ill-chosen training area.
”Trust me; it is going to get bad up here soon. They are saying this thing could drop up to six inches in the city! I would reckon that is at least doubled up here, maybe tripled. So what do yah say? Accompany a girl back down?” Okay so it was borderline flirting, she knew that, but his safety was again her main concern. Self-sacrifice was often required of heroes, right? If the offer of a fight or a small smile was enough to accomplish what she wanted, she was fine with that.

Ochra calmly looked down at the woman as she stepped closer, most likely trying to get a good look at him. Visibility was starting to get worse up here, Ochra had to admit. And it seemed that this woman wasn't too keen on having a sparring match up in these conditions. Ochra couldn't blame her at this point. He had really come here for some endurance training, not to actually fight anyone. At least she was offering to give him a sparring match afterwards, that was something Ochra could look forward to. He looked around the mountainside. Snow was coming down hard and the winds were picking up. He looked at the young woman in front of him and nodded. "I guess you have a point. Give me a second." He turned and headed over to where he had put down his jacket and scarf. The things were almost buried in the snow. Ochra mentally cursed himself as he felt how wet they were. Why did he think taking these things off was a good idea again? Well, that's what he got for poor decisions. He reluctantly draped the wet clothing over his body before walking back to the woman. "Ok, let's go, shall we?"Thank the kais for flight. Even in the growing turbulent weather they would be able to get down the mountain easy enough. Though it seemed the weather was following them back down into the city itself, as snow was already coming down when they arrived. The streets were starting to be covered by an ever thickening blanket of snow. The wind was starting to pick up too, sending a chill through him due to the wet clothing he was wearing. "Perhaps we should wait until the storm blows over before we do any sparring, don't you agree?" he asked her. Well, this was certainly a way to meet a woman. On top of a mountain during a growing storm, and then asking to go to her place. If there wasn't a logical explanation behind it all, one would think they were flirting with eachother. She got what she wanted. With a nod the two of them made their way down the mountainside. Flight was of course a gift in this scenario. What would have taken hours of trekking through snow and rocky cliffs, took a little less than ten minutes. There was the fact the cold snow filled wind limited their visibility, but with the ability to sense energy Belladonna never lost her way. The city and all its inhabitants stood out like a beacon to guide her.
When they arrived in the city it was clear the storm had arrived before them. Pleased with herself for taking the trip up to get him off the mountain when she did, the redhead chalked up another one for public safety. A sign was definitely needed to warn people about carefully planning hikes. She would rather not spend the better part of her days going up and down the mountain to make sure travelers were safe.
”Aye, I didn’t pull you off the mountain just to freeze in the street.” A click of her tongue followed as she looked down the street. Even with the weather going south, not everything was closed. Select business looked to brave the storm and take advantage of people just like them. If not for her promise made to get him off the mountain, she would just go home, but since she was going to hang around she had another idea.
”How about some coffee and a snack? We can stay warm for a bit and see if it lightens up. What do yah say?” She suggested with a pointed finger towards a tiny coffee shop a block or so down the street. Dee’s Donuts was a shop she had been to before, but nothing as special to her as her secret little bakery across town. Eyes on him she was ready to head over if he agreed, not shy about leading the way should he accept.

Ochra couldn't help but agree with her suggestion. Getting a cup of coffee and a doughnut sounded like a good idea, especially in this weather. He calmly flew over towards the shop, thankfully not drawing any attention, since who would be out in this weather to see them? Once there, he touched down and stepped inside, along with his new red haired companion. The man at the counter paused at the sight of them. Partially because of the difference in appearance between them, but also who would be wearing an open, sleeveless jacket in this weather? The man's staring stopped when Ochra cleared his throat. "One large coffee, one cream and two sugars, and a chocolate doughnut please." The man jolted out of his daze and nodded, waiting for the young woman to make her order before running off to tend to it. Once they were given their orders, Ochra moved over to one of the empty tables, taking a seat as he waited for his new acquaintance. Ochra glanced out the window. The snow really was coming down now. It was almost a pretty sight, especially when one was inside and warm. Well, as warm as he could get in wet clothes. Still, it was better in here then it was out there. He had been on some cold planets before, but never out in storms like this. He took a sip of his coffee, feeling the heat run down his throat. It felt so good right now. "Sorry for making you go out in this weather," he apologized, "I know it was a major inconvenience for you. Still, I appreciate your concern for my safety."Belladonna Atropa

Into the little cafe with him, Bella began to remove her heavy jacket as she waited her turn to order. Compared to the thick overcoat that she wore as her outermost layer, the sleeveless button down shirt underneath almost looked out of place. A crisp white and perfectly pressed, it was clear she took care in her outfits. Just like her jacket, the shirt represented the Pride Troopers. On the upper right hand side of the blouse, a red and blue PT broke up the plain white of the shirt. Jacket tucked beneath her arm, she stepped up to the counter.
”Hmmmm. A medium hot chocolate and a plan bagel with cream cheese please, toasted!” The last part of her blurted out as she almost forgot to ask. Paying the cashier and then waiting a moment for the simple but delicious order, she was soon over to the booth he had chosen. With a toss her jacket landed on an empty chair and she took her seat.
”Dmon’t wrry abut it.” She responded off handedly and with a mouthful of bagel as she too looked out the window. It really was beautiful when you got a moment to sit down and enjoy. Like most of nature the wonder of a powdery snow was missed and forgotten by a busy life style. Perhaps she should take more time to enjoy the world she worked so hard to protect, her focus most often the people.
”But please don’t do it again.” She added with a small chuckle once her mouth was empty. Bell took a sip of her piping hot cocoa and then finally looked back to him.
”Although I guess I shouldn’t complain right? I joined the PT to help others and even if I didn’t expect to be a mountain side rescuer, I guess its still helping. Maybe I should look into opening up an office farther down south where its warmer.” She joked as she took the opportunity to slide the PT into conversation. She always did.

Ochra couldn't help but chuckle at her response. "I can't make any promises regarding that. My line of work tends to be a bit on the dangerous side after all. But hey, perks are good at times, and it's something I can be proud of." Many people would look down on bounty hunting, but it was a living after all. Besides, it wasn't as if Ochra was a mercenary, fighting for unsavory characters. He was hunting down criminals, helping the authorities. Consider him a freelance cop if you will. Then she mentioned something that caught his curiosity. PT? He noticed the emblem on her blouse as well. "The PT? Is that some sort of search and rescue organization of some kind?" It was a rather good guess, considering she went out of her way to get him off of a mountain. Belladonna Atropa

Hot chocolate almost came up and out of Belladonna’s nose. Coughing some as she choked on her most recent sip, one hand slapped at the table as she choked the hot liquid back down. Even as the liquid caught in her throat, her head was shaking back and forth, thick red hair rolling its way back and forth across her slender shoulders.
”Search and rescue? HAHA! No, not at all...well we aren’t limited to that.” She responded with the continued shaking of her head. I mean, she could understand why he might think that based solely on recent events, but the PT was far from just some search and rescue unit. Could you imagine? Koban the fire fighter, Bella the field medic. A small chuckle escaped her at the mental images before she settled and went on to explain.
”The PT, the Pride Troopers fight for justice!” She exclaimed as her voice rose a couple levels. ”Yes, we do go out of our way to rescue those we think might be in need, but its not limited to wayward hikers such as yourself. The PT stands for justice for all, regardless of who you might be. Captain Koban, its founder, is a hero around here. Although we are small, we do what we can to aide anyone who might be oppressed or in danger. She continued to explain in animated fashion, arms moving about as if motioning to the city around them and beyond. Her enthusiasm for her work was never hard to see.
”Don’t tell me you have NEVER heard the name before? Not even Koban’s name mentioned in passing? If that is the case I guess I need to get back to work on passing out fliers.” Bella finished with a convinced nod of her head, already decided on getting more brochures out there. Sipping at her cocoa once more she smiled over at him, talk about the PT having her in high spirits.

Ochra blinked when the young woman explained exactly who the PT, or the Pride Troopers, actually were. A group of crime fighters out for justice. The saiyan hybrid immediately flashed back to his conversation with Anna, and even to his meeting with the little android known as Amber. Earth seemed to have a surprising amount of super heroes on it. The saiyan hybrid let out a small chuckle, more amused by the situation than anything else. "Sorry, I didn't mean to laugh," he spoke up, wanting to make sure he didn't offend her, "Just brought up some old memories. No, I can't say I've heard of you guys. Then again, I haven't been on Earth for very long, and really, this is the first time I've been outside of the Eastern Continent."He brought his coffee to his lips, taking a sip. "I guess we can be considered in a similar business. Though I can't say mine is as glamorous as yours. But then again, bounty hunting very rarely is." Many people would consider bounty hunting almost mercenary compared to the more 'noble' profession of just being a hero. But as he sat there, a small thought occurred to Ochra. If these guys were really all about the defense of Earth, then maybe they would be willing to help him and the other saiyans. After all, a possible attack by the Fleet would put both the saiyans and the Earth in danger, and if the Fleet actually managed to win...well, that was something he really didn't want to think about. But, this did give the saiyan hybrid an idea. He looked at the young woman before him. "Perhaps though, you can help me," he said, a serious tone to his voice now, "Tell me, are you or any of the Pride Troopers aware of what happened recently to Vegeta, and the World Trade Fleet?"Belladonna Atropa

The light chuckled caused the girl’s eyes to narrow ever so slightly over the lip of her cup. Of course that vanished as he apologized for the light laugh. It wasn’t like she was a temperamental woman, but the Pride Troopers and her family were the two things she was likely to get defensive over. Both sat close to her heart and if anyone sought to belittle them, never mind threaten them, the transition from sweet girl to trooper would be short. This was a friendly conversation though and the sour mood passed as quickly as it came.
Interested to hear that he just arrived on Earth(even if that meant he hadn’t heard of the PT), her curiosity peeked as he implied he was of the bounty hunter profession. Those that worked solely for pay and often with little regard for the wellbeing of others as long as their wallet grew fat, she kept her judgements internal for now. Bounty hunter held the potential to mean a variety of things. Some worked exclusively beyond the law, others for it and with the majority somewhere in between. Unsure exactly where he fell, she made a mental note to ask before they parted ways.
”Well if you stick around for a bit, I am sure you will hear the name.” She said with a small smile. They did the work of justice and it was spreading. Soon she hoped, and not for selfish reasons, that cities beyond where they operated would know of the Pride Troopers. If they did, it was likely that the power of good was winning. With what she feared might be coming, that was the best she could wish for.
As it was, that very potential complication of current events is where the topic suddenly shifted to. Anyone that was anyone knew about the recent attack on Vegeta and the majority knew that the Saiyans had fled to Earth as a result. Yet to meet a soldier or refugee from that vicious attack, it occurred to her that he might very well be one. With a bite of her bagel she listened and this time she waited until she was done chewing to speak.
”We are aware. Although I have only heard third hand accounts. Personally, I am incredibly uncertain as to what it all means for Earth. Don’t get me wrong, I don’t want to see anyone getting hurt or chased from their home, but what will happen now is anyone’s guess.” Bella replied before taking another bite of her bagel in an attempt to finish most of it before it cooled. With only a few chomps and a swallow she was back into the conversation.
”My HOPE is that the WTF would not be so reckless as to launch an attack on the Saiyans now that they have arrived here, but then again, who predicted they would attack Vegeta itself? No matter what way you look at it, it’s not a good situation.” She finished before stuffing the very last of the bagel into her mouth. The piece obviously too big for her to swallow she put visible effort into breaking it down and even then, she seemed to have forced herself to eat a little too fast with the change in conversation. Thankfully a sip of her warm hot chocolate soothed her poor throat.

Ochra nodded quietly as she explained their knowledge of the situation. That saved a lot of explanation regarding the potential invasion of Earth. "I'm hoping the same thing myself. After all, Earth has resisted invasion in the past. But at the same time, the Fleet's been in the conquering business for a while now. It wouldn't surprise me if they got arrogant enough to try and attack the Earth."He took a bite out of his doughnut, swallowing before he continued. "A number of the survivors are banding together, forming some sort of defence force for if they do come. Don't worry, we don't plan on taking Earth for ourselves. We only wish to get our home back. I figured since you guys fight to protect Earth, you should be in the know." He took a last gulp of his coffee. "That was actually why I was training up on that mountain."Belladonna Atropa

Earth was historically resilient, he was right here. However, the legends and myths of old were exactly that, old. Valiant warriors like Koban and herself still sought to protect the planet from invaders, but in her lifetime nothing of the sort had been required. Sure they fought for justice and to help others, but a challenge like the WTF was unprecedented. Again, she really hoped it didn’t come to that. Her mother would be pissed if Bella needed to explain why she was going out to the front lines. Uhg that was a conversation she didn’t look forward to having should it be needed.
At least there was SOME reason he was up on the mountain. In her opinion similar results were attainable in a much safer place, but he was Saiyan after all. What she focused on though around his bites of donut, was the mention of survivors banding together. Reports were all over the place about refugees landing on Earth, but the exact number was uncertain. Hundreds? Thousands? More? No one really seemed to know, at least no one on TV.
”May I ask, how many of your people arrived here? I don’t expect you to have a headcount for every Saiyan on Earth, but you mentioned survivors gathering together. The more the people of Vegeta share and remain open with those of Earth, the better it will likely be for us all. Especially if the World Trade Fleet does make some kind of move.”
Perhaps she should sit down with Koban about this sometime soon. Regardless of what stance the PT was going to take, its members should all be on the same page. It’s not like they would not offer help, but when it came to official alliances and the sort, the matter grew complicated. The Pride Troopers always wanted to see justice prevail, yet they weren’t exactly a faction ready to march to war.
Another aggressive sip of hot cocoa finished the mug before her. With plenty more to discuss, she waved for another to be brought over.

Ochra took another quiet bite of his doughnut as she spoke. He waited until he swallowed before he continued. "I can't give you a precise headcount. I've only met two so far, but from what I've heard, they're gathering together to try and protect themselves. I'm not even sure who's leading the operation." he looked at the young woman sitting opposite him. "If I get a chance to talk to them, I'll see what I can get them to share with you guys. Neither of us wants Earth to suffer because of what happened." He watched quietly as she got another cup of hot chocolate. He'd wait a bit for if he had another coffee. Right now, he was more concerned with the conversation between them. "I'm not asking you guys to stick your necks out for us. After all, this is more or less our fight. I just felt you guys should be in the know. And perhaps the two of us joining forces would have a better chance at protecting the Earth." he remembered hearing about the saiyan invasion over two hundred years ago. The lives lost and the destruction caused by it all. This was the home of his ancestors. Ochra didn't want anything like that happening to the people of Earth again, especially not because of the saiyan race. Belladonna Atropa
