"Heh! It ain't just Eart, Kid. Da whole universe is a zoo. We're just little pets for da Shin Gin or whatevah " He rubbed his arm idly, eyes wandering to the girls phone. Seems she was getting a call. Reinforcements, maybe? He didn't mind a two-on-one, but if she called someone absurdly strong it could spell some serious trouble. "But I won't bother ya's wit da details, Sweetie. You's seem like da kind who ain't gonna listen just cuz I hit ya a couple times."
This wasn't the hardest fight Mumbo had ever been in, but he had to admit his opponent was a tough cookie. Much stronger than he imagined her to be, especially for a goodie-good. If he wasn't worried about her demeanor rubbing off on him, he might try taking her power. Absorption was something he knew he could do, but it was risky; it changed your very core, especially if your target was strong. And Bella seemed plenty strong.
"So, wat's da plan, Kid? Gonna keep fightin' til ya run outta steam? Da rest of my calendah's clear: We can fight all day if ya want!"

His talk of zoos and Shin Gin only confused her. What was he talking about? With a swipe she sent her mother’s call to voicemail before she tucked the device back into her pocket. Sorry Mom. Whenever she got the chance to call the woman back she planned to omit this little scuffle. Each and every time they spoke the woman shared her concerns for what Bella chose to do. Fighting in a dirty alley with an eight foot monster was not an event that would help Bella’s constant denial that she was in danger.
”You have two options. Either go back and right your wrong or I will bring you into the authorities by force. I’d rather not hurt you, but I can’t allow a thug like yourself to do as he pleases.” She answered with a slight edge to her voice. Despite her failure so far, she was serious about the attempt. Violence was never her way, yet he had given her no choice. Koban would be so disappointed if she let this one just walk away after what he had done.
Bella broke into a run before he even gave an answer. Considering she offered him a way out several times already, she expected his answer would remain the same. Reaching her full speed as she drew close, the redhead leapt. Legs tucked in under her as she rotated in the air, before both shot out. It was called a dropkick; she had seen it on those wrestling shows. The unorthodox move amplified as she channeled Ki down to her feet, that familiar blue glow encompassing her boots as the pair went right for the center off his chest."Hyah!" This time if she got him down on the ground she would be quick to capitalize. The Majin was far more resilient than what she was used to.

"Nah, Girlie. I tink you's got two options. Either you's keep fightin' till ya cant and I win, or you's run away and shout about how you and ya pallies are gonna get me next time. Which one ya wanna try?"
It seemed Bella had already decided. Her body shifted from standing to sprinting in an instant, her Ki flourishing as she hopped into a drop-kick. Her feet slammed into his gut, sending him tumbling back further across the alley. He slammed into some wet cardboard boxes, crumpling them beyond repair and sending their contents sprawling out onto the concrete. Stained shirts saying I LOVE VI-POI lay in puddles and heaps, with some finding themselves stuck to Mumbo himself.
Groaning, Mumbo shook himself free. His chest was dented inward, and he had two big bootprints in the center of his dress shirt. The hit stung harshly, but it was nothing he hadn't felt before. Still though, it made him mad. A goodie-good like her was actually putting up a fight? This wasn't some cheesy action flick; In the real world, the bad guys won.
"Dat one hurt, Girlie."
The Majin let pockets of steam shoot from the holes in his noggin. He ripped the jacket of his suit off himself, the tattered cloth ruined even further by his rage. He wasn't in the mood to just beat this girl. He was gonna smash up all those flyers too. Maybe she'd force em down her throat, or call Maple and have him magic the girl a new face. One without a mouth or a nose or anything else.
He rolled his meaty neck menacingly, and stomped forward with a slow, methodical pace. When he got close, his fist would rear back, and he'd attempt to sock the girl right in the jaw. It didn't matter if the attack landed or not, he'd continue the assault either way.
His mouth opened wide once more, and that same wave of energy from before billowed outwards. It threatened to engulf her in its sweet might, and turn her into Baked Demon.

Bella hit the dirty street as her dropkick sent the thug across the alley. Unsure what he hit at first, she scrambled to her feet in time to see him rise from the mess of boxes and shirts. Snorting at the fact he was already back up and apparently more sour than ever. The red head did have a question though.
What the hell was a Vi-Poi?
”Well I didn’t want to hurt you, but you are not leaving me much of a choice!” She exclaimed with clear frustration in her voice. She hated hurting people regardless of how mean they might be. Violence bred violence, time and time again that was proven. The charging 8 foot Majin was another perfect example.
The spouts of steam and the way he shredded his own jacket showcased his frustration and she soon felt it in his heavy strike. Blunt and straight forward, her arms were able to move in time to block the large mitt. Both appendages utilized to save her jaw the force was still enough to stagger her a few steps.
Unrelenting this time another one of his wide mouthed blasts ripped towards her. Last time she felt the burn of the energy and preferred not to feel it again. Stance shifting, her hands pressed outward in front of her, palms facing him as energy shimmered before them. Eyes squinted as the blast crashed into her barrier, she let out a small sigh as it held. Energy dissipated, she tried to take the fight right back to him.
Through the post clash smoke she rushed forward. No attempt to hide the bright glow around her right hand, she closed in on him and stepped in close. Shoulder put into the strike, her arm swung upward with her fist aimed for the underside of his big jaw.

His punch rang true, but the same could not be said for his energy beam. The girl could control her energy in more ways than one, and as she pooled it into a dome around her, the Majin could do little but furrow his brow-ridge in unadulterated fury. Beam collided with barrier, and for a moment, they struggled against one another. Within mere moments, they both exploded, their eruption causing smoke to fan out and shroud the alleyway.
It didn't take a genius to hear Bella's approach. Pushing through the cloud, Bella brought a mighty, chi-infused fist to bare, slamming it hard beneath his chin. His head snapped upwards, and he was sent skyward. Spinning like a top, the only thing he could see was a blur of browns and grays. He quickly found himself earth-bound again, face-first in a massive murky puddle.
For a moment, he simply sat there, his rage boiling up both figuratively and literally. The water had begun to simmer thanks to rapid pockets of steam escaping his head. Before long, the water looked like it had been boiled to an almost-drinkable level.
The anger was starting to get to him. When he fought the Namekian fanatic, he was angry, but he was weaker. He knew to run away. This was different. He knew he could win; he could feel it in her strikes. They hurt like hell, but he could beat her.
So why wasn't she dead already?
Without Maple's presence, Mumbo was quicker to anger. Maybe that's why this fight was devolving as quickly as it was. Either that or the all-too-fresh memory of the bet he lost was driving him to the brink. You could take your pick.
A furious roar escaped the Majin as he forced himself to his feet, and turned to the girl. He panted out growls through grit teeth, like a wild beast, and clenched his fists. They hung low next to his waist, and it looked like he was clenching so hard that he was drawing blood.
"Mumbo... Hate... You." So lost to his anger was Mumbo, he forgot proper grammar. The little he could muster before with his thick accent was washed away, replaced by the manners of a primal caveman.
He took in a deep breath, and his Ki swirled to life around him. The malicious purple-pink aura threatened to engulf his side of the alleyway entirely, and it might have done so, too, if it weren't for his next move.
"Mumbo. Make You... GO AWAY!"
His Ki suddenly stopped, growing, and in an instant, exploded outward. That same white wave from before expelled from his mouth, but it was different this time. It was more hateful somehow. He wanted Bella to suffer as much as he could make her.

Got him!
Bella’s chest heaved as a result of the exertion. Barely able to stop his attack, the quickly executed counter attack left her winded, yet strangely pleased as she watched his body spiral into the air. She definitely didn’t take joy in violence, but considering how tough his fellow was; landing a solid blow like that one left her with a smile. The heavy wet slap to the pavement along with the splash of water should have meant the fight was over. No one would be able to get up from something like that.
That thought process explained the look of shock on the girls face as the dirty water began to boil and then the hulking creatures shoved back to his feet. ”No way.” She couldn’t believe it, plain and simple. The red heads words betrayed her in the same way her expression did. Still breathing heavy as he turned about, she couldn’t help the involuntary step back she took. After the fact, she recognized the movement for the sign of hesitance that it was. Was she afraid or in shock? She wasn’t sure.
Across from the bewildered Trooper, the Majin raged. He likely hadn’t believed the destruction of a single flier would have led to this, but that moment seemed near forgotten now. His words weren’t even needed, Bella felt the malice that radiated from him along with that dark energy. Guessing what was coming next she dashed to the side in order to make hers slender frame a moving target with the hope she might avoid the coming blast. The maneuver didn’t do her any good.
The beam caught up with her and although her arms crossed to defend, Bella was taken right off her feet. Launched backwards across the alley a dumpster was kind enough to alter her path. Her back cracked against the rusted container and with the groan of bending metal she ricocheted back into the middle of the side street. There she hit the asphalt on her side and slid. Arms tucked in to save them from as much road rash as possible; she ended up on her side half a dozen meters away. A low groan escaped her before several coughs shook her body. A little dazed, the would-be hero rolled to her stomach and began to push up to all fours.
Bella was tough, but this time she was slower to rise.

Bella was hit dead-on by Mumbo's attack, her body sliding to a painful stop near the edge of the alley. She was having trouble keeping up now. Hell, if this went on any longer, she might not survive the rest of the afternoon.
Good.
Mumbo did not speak; instead of words, he simply roared again, and his aura rumbled to life. The city block shook from the force, and that same white light pooled behind Mumbo's lips. He wasn't going to stop blasting her until either she stopped moving or he did. This wasn't a battle anymore. It was more a test of endurance and will. If Bella's spirit held out, she'd win the day.
The Majin retched up another gout of energy, and the wave exploded as vibrantly as it had before. Bella needed to act fast.

Up to one knee, hand to the pavement for support, Bella stole a glance at her foe. This hero business was harder than she ever realized. Koban was usually the one that handled the dangerous criminals and this Majin, whoever he was, definitely fit into that category. The note pad she used to catalog her adventures and those she met along the way was in her pocket, she could feel it, but the less than savory thoughts she had about him would need to be written down at a later date.
His roar preceded another one of those blasts and not yet with her feet back under her, instinct and self-preservation drove her actions. Unable to form a barrier quickly enough her right arm swung to intercept the blast. Encased in blue energy the off balance swipe was barely enough to deflect the white beam into the building beside her. Tired at this point, her normal care for the environment around her wavered and the building to her right suffered the consequences. When bricks exploding inward she was glad to see that section of the structure looked abandoned.
A grunt saw her back to her feet as she turned to face him. Arms up in a sloppy stance, similar to the one she saw Ochra use except with far less discipline at this point, she stood her ground. What was she supposed to do, run? Her legs likely couldn’t carry her past him fast enough and if she did his rage might follow her into the streets. She wouldn’t allow that. Instead she tried one last time.
”Last…chance…” The offer once again put on the table to end this without further violence.
Kais above, please let him take it.

Another defiant strike. Bella's fist sent the head of the wave ricocheting off-course, smashing into the building at her side. Sadly, the place was abandoned; an old paint factory by the looks of it. Some of the stuff was still fresh enough to spill, it seemed, as a great big blue blotch stained the inner wall of the building. If Mumbo weren't a raging beast at the moment, he might have cracked a joke.
Instead, he continued to steam, another pocket of steam blasting from his head-holes as he panted. He was losing stamina quickly. If he kept going, he might lose due to sheer fatigue rather than anything else. Could he risk passing out to continue the assault?
Hell yeah he could.
Mumbo ignored Bella's offer, his mouth shining again. Truth be told, his jaw was starting to hurt, but the discomfort he felt was little compared to the dizzying pain his foe was in. As his eyes narrowed, the beam blasted forward again, aiming to overtake the girl with energy he didn't even have. Forcing this blast out of him was already starting to hurt. His muscles began aching, and his body almost seemed to start to deflate! Would he be able to stand after this attack?

Hey, Pride Trooper blue.
The spilled paint was lost on the red head too. Able to defend herself against that last blast she was yet to rise from her knee. Hits taken combined with her depleted energy levels, Bella was running on fumes. Surely he was as well. There was no way he could muster up another one of those vicious blast, no way, he definitely….
She saw the burning energy an instant before she felt it. Incapable of turning this one aside the blast launched her backwards and further down the alley. After a short flight she hit the pavement only to bounce across it like some human shaped skipping stone. Ending the trip with several rolls through the dirt and grime that lined the side street, she came to rest on her right side.
This was just too much for her. Once pristine, the white shirt she wore was ruined, stained through and through by who knew what, her breaths ragged. Bella tried to will herself to stand, but she could barely move. A low grown escaped her though as she saw through heavy lids that he still stood.
Disappointment struck her more than fear. Regardless of how angry and dangerous this Majin was, she was in danger because of her inability to handle the situation. What would Koban have done differently? What would her mother’s advice be? Right arm in motion, her fingers fumbled at her pocket in an attempt to get her phone free.
A moment later it clattered to the ground as it slid along her hip to the asphalt. Unfocused and in pain, her usually dexterous hands struggled to even get the screen on. To her it felt like forever and a herculean effort to get to her contacts list. Groggily she slid down the list of people in her phone, on her way to K. He would help, he always did.

Finally!
Mumbo gripped his head as the last of his energy spilled from his lips. Falling to a knee, he panted heavily, staring over at Bella. His rage was dwindling now, and that cloud over his mind parted. He had won -- almost -- and that was good enough for him to calm down. In all honesty, it was a wonder that he himself was alive. Pouring out that much Ki was a new thing for him. He'd need to practice that kind of thing more often.
Letting out a heavy sigh, Mumbo forced himself to stand, trudging through the pain to approach Bella. She was still prone, but she had enough fight left in her to pull her phone out and meekly tap away at the screen. What plan did she have? It didn't matter; Mumbo would stop it.
Reaching her was no easy task, but he'd done so. Looming over her like a monolith of villainy, he brought his massive antenna down, aiming to smash the phone to bits before she could hit any more buttons. If he failed, then he'd just have to deal with the consequences, but he hoped beyond hope that it wouldn't come to that.

There he was.
CRUNCH
The moment Bella’s eyes came to rest on Koban’s name Mumbo’s tendril annihilated her phone. Shattered beyond repair, the small device not nearly as durable as either of them, the demon rolled to her back with a groan.
Chest still rising and falling with labored breaths her amber eyes looked up to the foul creature. She was definitely in trouble. Hands to the pavement she shoved up and back to slide herself away from him. Inches felt like miles, but she needed to create distance. His offense seemed to have slowed so there was a chance he was worn out.
He might be tired, but she was exhausted. After several inches she could go no further and with a groan she slumped back to the asphalt.
”You will not..get away with this.” She warned him through halted breaths. ”You can’t just destroy things and hurt people then...walk away without consequence.” Bella tried to put as much conviction in her words as she could muster, but even she knew it was a hard sell.

"But dere is a consequence," Mumbo said, scoffing. "Ya ruined my shirt. See?" He crouched down next to the girl, pulling at the boot print of his dress shirt to accentuate it.
Mumbo let out a deep breath. His energy was returning to him now. Where it was once hard to even walk, he was sure he could jog without incident now. If the fight started again, he'd be ready.
"Like I said, Girlie, you's had two options. Eitha I beat ya's, or you run away. And I don't tink you's can run no moah, huh?"
He watched the girl with cautious eyes. If she was a demon like Mumbo thought she was, then surely she had some trick up her sleeve. Maple had plenty, after all. He couldn't underestimate her just because she was a hero.
With a quick motion, Mumbo aimed a kick for Bella's stomach, aiming to smash her into the wall of the alleyway with intense force.

He mocked her now. The Majin’s taunting words stung and Bella was incapable of hiding the red that painted her cheeks. A mixture of embarrassment and anger the flush woman’s eyes narrowed into a glare. She tried not to judge, but this creature was despicable. Koban and the rest of the Troop were going to be made aware of him and keep a lookout going forward. If she walked away from the fight that is.
Despite the fact she was down and out, he did not relent. A boot to the gut lifted her from the pavement and sent her right into the wall. Bricks cracked and crumbled as the side of the building gave out under the stress, much like Bella’s abdominal muscles. After she busted through the wall, she rolled across the floor of the old paint factory, bricks taking the trip alongside her.
Hands to her stomach as she came to a stop, a hard cough saw blood splatter the dusty floor. That one really hurt. Face to the concrete, the Trooper understood the trouble she was in. They were alone and this had become one sided. Unsure how far he might go, she couldn’t just sit and take shots like this. Yet, she struggled to breathe and the pain scattered her thoughts. Desperately a hand left her stomach to slap to the ground as she attempted to pull away. The effort barely moved her as exhausted set in.

The girl tumbled and rolled through the paint factory, much to Mumbo's satisfaction. He had definitely won out in this exchange, but what was the next step? He could kill her, he supposed, but that'd be kinda lame. Besides, whoever she was trying to call would find out, and they were probably plenty strong. Mumbo had seen karate flicks before, so he knew how it'd go -- the hero finds their buddy dead in a ditch, cries in the rain, gets powered up by their love of friendship, and beats up the bad guy. Maybe he'd save the murder for another day.
Letting out a dull laugh, Mumbo hopped through the hole in the wall, and sauntered over to a nearby paint can. Giving it a once-over, he punctured the side, causing deep blue paint to pour out in globs. "Yaknow, on any udda day, I probly woulda kept clobberin' ya's, but I ain't into it. Too bummed, yaknow?" His forearm suddenly morphed into the shape of a large bowl, which collected the paint dutifully. "But! I got's ta do sometin' right? Like you's said. Actions and consequences."
In the blink of an eye, Mumbo's arm shifted from a bowl to a paint gun, and he fired off a barrage of paint balls. They aimed to smack Bella right in the gut, and if enough of them hit their target, she'd find that her shirt had a big frowny face painted on it, with the words LOSER dripping sloppily beneath.
Shaking his arm viciously to get the paint reserves out, Mumbo sighed as his arm returned to normal. The shape-changing stuff was natural for a Majin, but he wasn't that great at it yet. His gun looked all sloppy and misshapen, even if it did do its job of popping off rounds of paint.
"Anyways. I had fun, I guess. Catch'ya latah Girlie. And don't lemme see you bein' a goodie next time!"
With a leap, Mumbo escaped the alleyway, flying back towards the street they started on. He still wanted to take a flyer to show to Maple, after all...
Mumbo attempts an exit after he Splatoons Bella. Fun thread for sure, but this felt like a good end spot.
