Powerlevel: 111,000 Typha had been running around Heaven and Hell for the past two months. With his training with King Kai to figuring out who had tried to hurt him and Yudi and then trying to figure out who he needed to revive. Plus he had been doing all the training King kai requested of him. Somehow he was under the impression the training was not exactly that helpful. No doubt King Kai was a good master but so far he had still been doing some odd tasks. From Tracking in the mud with weights attached or Carrying Cats across Snakeway making sure to avoid Snake Princess. He had to wonder if this would be all his training. Sure he had grown stronger but he was starting to have his doubts. Not that he'd voice it he sure King Kai was making him do all this for a reason.
The on and off training with King Kai had been sporadic at best with him being busy but now he was set on working hard once agian to reach the pinnical of King Kai's training. He had a feeling their had to be something else. He had gotten stronger but he had learned very few martial art techniques. He had expected more but maybe that was what the training was for. Maybe these powers were only for those strong of body and mind. Typha finally returned to King Kai's planet. His clothes were clean and without damage. He remembered his first time there King Kai had not to be keen to take on a mess of a student. He'd arrived at the door to his place standing their for a moment before knocking. "I've returned. Hope you are doing well King Kai."

King Kai sighed, a smile forming as the last of his tea emptied from his cup into his gut. Early mornings were always his favorite. It was so calming, even if most of the rest of the day was just as simple. Today was different, though. Today was hopefully going to be a good one.
Typha had knocked on his door, and he answered it with a pleasant smile. ”Morning!” Why was he so jolly? Well the answer was simple: Typha was a good student!
Unlike most of the hopefuls he brought to his planet, the Konatsian was a quick learner. He might not have understood all the harsh training methods, but he pushed through them without question. Maybe some more curiosity would have been good, but a lack of resistance was a nice change of pace.
”I think you’re ready. Ready for the first real lesson!”
King Kai pushed past Typha and out into the front lawn of his house, and breathed in the morning’s crisp wind. It was a magical wind, of course, since there were no natural forces to actually cause wind in Other World, but that didn’t matter. The charm was made so long ago that he could pretend it was real and nobody would question it.
”But first, there is one more test. The most dangerous task you’ll endure while here.”
He turned to face the swordsman with a grim expression. The wind grew to a feverish speed.
”Before I teach you my strongest techniques, you must make me laugh... With a joke you invent during battle!”
Lighting struck one of the yellow clouds in the sky, and King Kai smirked. He’d never put such a harrowing spin on his training before! Would Typha be up to the challenge?
”So what do you think? Ready to try, or should I let you read some of my joke books for a little while?”

Typha gave a nod to King Kai as he acknowledged his hello. Typha looked at King Kai seriously as he spoke about how they would be doing their first real lesson. It had been nearly two months since he was glad they were moving to learn the great techniques of the Kai. He even moved him forward to begin this lesson guess King Kai really wanted to get this important lesson. Typha knew it was serious and he was ready to take on any challenge King Kai had for him. So far King Kai methods had been comical but he had been growing stronger. Plus there was no need to question him if he was renowned as the universe best teacher. Typha knew this must of been a real challenge something that would be of the norm of training. Typha could feel the tension in the air and then King Kai spoke.
Typha blinked a few times utter confusion forming on his face. Was he serious? When he looked at King Kai he looked serious. He did want to ask why that was important but he was unsure if that be disrespectful. Yet at the same time, he had to make the joke on the fly in training. Typha narrowed his eyes calmness filling his head. He was unsure if he could really come up with a joke he was not he funny type. He was serious and brooding at best. "I think I'll be fine let's do it." Typha didn't want to slow the pace and go reading a joke book. Plus he doubts he'd get any of the jokes. He just had to think of something on the fly. Maybe something in the battle would give him inspiration.

”Alright. If you really think you’re ready...”
There was a quiet moment of tension between the two as King Kai floated into the air, looking his student over. It’d been a bit since he’d had to duel anyone. Not for a couple-hundred years, at least. Hopefully he wasn’t too rusty.
Without a moment to spare, King Kai snapped his fingers, and suddenly that wind from before suddenly whipped up into a frenzy, and became a mighty tornado! It aimed to fly right into Typha, sending him across the planet and down into the murky depths of the Home For Inifinite Losers!
”Look out, Typha! Eye don’t think you’ll be able to survive an attack like this without storming head-first into danger!”
King Kai snickered. Would Typha find the hint in his pun?

He'd watched King Kai float up Typha muscles tensing. He was unsure what King Kai would do. How would King Kai fight against a foe of his strength? What type of techniques would he show off? Maybe he'd show some of the moves he'd be teaching him soon enough. Whatever he used he'd want to keep his eyes on them maybe he could use the techniques himself. Typha watched as King Kai snapped as the wind began to get stronger. He'd looked up in shock as King Kai created a tornado of insane magically power. Typha felt his grip on the ground slowly being ripped away. Typha knew he was going to be sent flying if he didn't power up right now. Typha muscles flexed but before he could transform he was hit by the Tornado.
"Woahahhahaa," Typha yelled out as he was being thrown around like a Rag doll. He did hear King Kai's words and while that advice was wise it had been too late for him to heed those words. Typha focused his Ki again as his hair lit up to a light pink his strength increasing four-fold. Typha was still being pushed back but he now had some resources. Typha focused his Ki like he did to catch Bubbles. He'd have to move fast and right out of these winds. When he felt a gap in the winds he'd launch himself back down to King Kai's planet holding on for dear life to not get pulled back up and off his planet. "Guess....." Typha, let in a couple of deep breaths thinking of something to say. He remembered King Kai's words. "Eye didn't think of that." Typha had heard the mispronunciation before and the snicker. Maybe that was something that could make him laugh. Still, it was a fight and with that Typha charged swinging an elbow down at King Kai's gut. Hopefully, the Kai could take it.

So it seemed Typha had been sucked in by the tornado. King Kai was certain the kid would get lost somewhere in the clouds, but surprisingly he pulled himself back from the brink! The sounds of clapping came from inside the house, where Bubbles and Gregory were watching. At least Typha had some support.
Typha's pun, while decent, was far too similar to King Kai's own to be effective! Even still, King Kai did have to suppress a giggle, but that didn't count!
With enhanced power, the Konatsian charged in, aiming to deliver a killer blow to King Kai's stomach. The Kai had other plans, though. With a wave goodbye, the little blue man vanished into thin air. Typha had missed the mark by a long shot.
"You don't have the stomach for this, do you?"
The voice came from directly above. The crafty Kai was floating close to the Konatsian's head, and with another twinkle of magic he summoned a big, human-sized balloon. It had a cartoon sumo wrestler painted onto it. With a flick of the wrist, he ordered the balloon to charge forward, and it obliged.
Rearing back, the balloon's cartoon seemed to move like a real person! It ran forward, which made the balloon move down toward Typha at surprising speed. If the Konatsian didn't think fast, he'd be buried a few feet into the dirt!

Typha charged and he swung but he was gone. Typha was confused about how did King Kai move so fast. He'd looked up as King Kai spoke. He was flying right above him and he made another statement that flew over Typha's head. Still, he was looking up as King Kai was using his magic and he created a giant balloon. Guess that was what he had to deal with next. He watched King Kai send it out towards him. Typha tried to bring his sword forward to try to block it but he was sent flying down into the ground. He really could not match the power of this attack. The worst part was that it was a balloon. He was getting beaten up by a magically enchanted balloon. Shame filled his face but that gave him strength. He'd jabbed his sword swinging it up. Ki swung out to cut the ground open so he could slip out to get out from under the balloon.
Typha, let out a huff of exhaustion as he looked around trying to figure something out. He was hoping to maybe catch King Kai off guard but both attacks from King Kai so far he was getting thrown around like a rag doll. He really was going to need to figure out the joke fast. He thought he would have more time but clearly, from the first two exchanges, King Kai had a huge power gap between the two of them. Guess that was one reason he was the best trainer around. He was far and above him. He bet King Kai was still fooling around too. Typha was rubbing his head what could he say to catch King Kai off guard. He rubbed his hair trying to think of something funny to say. "So uh....no that won't work." Typha looked down at his fingers trying to figure out something funny to say to King Kai.

The balloon may have looked a bit flimsy, considering what it was made of, but it certainly did not bend or break at the first sign of danger. It was magic, after all! No single swing would fell it... Probably, anyway.
Although Typha had been pinned quickly, he found a way to escape just as fast. Unfortunately for him, though, his comedic timing was still off. He needed to think of a proper pun before things got even worse for him!
As the swordsman scratched his head, the balloon copied him, scratching its own head and creating a bit of a static charge. With a spin and a wink, the balloon warrior stuck its bulbous hand outward, aiming an electric bolt toward the Konatsian hero!
For now, King Kai held his tongue. As much as he wanted to egg Typha on, to help him find the perfect pun, he could not bring himself to do it. Typha needed to do this on his own.

"Huh!" Typha looked as the Balloon copied his movement. Expect it also made its own static charge. Typha would have thought it was stupid but the first two attacks had done some damage. Considering what King Kai was doing he really was getting thrown around. Typha raised his sword to catch the bolt of lightning on the blade. Still, it really didn't much as he was shocked by it. Typha gritted his teeth he had taken much worse before like from Monster. Yet now he could not think of anything thanks to being shocked. He could not think of anything funny to say. Why did he have to say something funny anyway? He stepped forward twisting his sword slightly. He put all the strength he got pushing the sword farther away from himself whatever lighting was left sparking up the blade and his body. He brought the sword around aiming towards King Kai. He had thought of something but he doubts it'd be that funny. With his hair standing up at the end and his body being shocked Typha swung the sword guiding what lighting that hit his sword out and send a blade of energy at King Kai. "Hope this doesn't shock you!" He yelled out with all the enthusiasm he could.

Typha was really something else. Instead of dodging the lightning, or maybe deflecting it like a normal fighter might do, the Konatsian decided to simply catch in on his blade! The electricity traveled through his soul, warping and twisting as it traveled back up to the metal blade once more. King Kai watched, stunned. Not entirely due to the action, of course, but also because Typha’s halo had suddenly disappeared! For a moment, he thought it might have had something to do with the magic he’d used, but it was then that he remembered that a band of Typha’s friends were collecting the Dragon Balls on Namek! ”Really? You guys revived him now?!” King Kai’s telepathic voice resonated through dimensions, worming its way into Oboe ’s ear. ”Good on you for pulling it off I suppose, but give him a few hours okay? He’s about to learn something important!”Whatever the Guru responded with, King Kai wouldn’t hear it. He was too busy stifling a laugh due to Typha’s snappy quip. It wasn’t amazing, but with emotions running high, just about anything would have been funny. Luckily, even with all the commotion, King Kai’s balloon warrior was still on the defensive. With a stunning display of bravery, the balloon tossed itself in the line of fire, popping from the sheer strength of the lightning crackling through Typha’s blade. The shreds of the balloon fluttered to the ground pitifully, still smoldering. ”Wow! That lightning really sparked something in you, huh? It’s almost like you’ve been born again! Heheh.”King Kai pointed above Typha. If he hadn’t noticed already, then surely the missing halo would have been a huge hint to the Konatsian that his friends had revived him. ”Come on, now. Give me one more! Think hard! Think fast! You don’t wanna go home with just a new shirt do you?”

Typha looked confused as he felt the weight grip him down more. What the hell was going on. He noticed that his Halo was gone a smirk forming on his face. Yet he knew he had a lot to still do. "Guess I need another Halo I got a lot to still do in the afterlife." Typha nodded to King Kai. "Guess they figured everything out." Typha sighed as he watched his attack flying at King Kai. When he was about hit the Balloon warrior took the attack and poped. Typha would take this chance to crack another joke but King Kai beat him to it. Guess he was the Frankenstein now seeing as the lighting and the Halo stuff came at the same time. He even wondered if he was actually revived from the magic. That would have been very interesting but the lack of King Kai's real shock made him think it was just the dragonballs. Still, he had to figure out a good joke or else he may just leave with the Gi and none of the techniques King Kai had to offer. Then it clicked what he could say. "I shirt wouldn't want that to happen King Kai." He'd bowed his head ready for King Kai's response.

"PFFFT-- AHEM!"
Shirt? Shirt?! Such a simple pun, yet so effective. His body shook with laughter, but still he kept it capped within him... Or at least he tried to. What was meant to seem like a serious and disappointed stare looked more like King Kai was a seam ready to burst. Before long, the poor Shinjin couldn't hold it in anymore, and the dam bust, letting loose a veritable sea of laughter.
"BAAAAAAHAHAHAAAA!"
He wasn't sure what it was. Maybe it was the delivery, or the buildup, or maybe even the lack of comedy. Whatever it was, Typha had nailed the test with flying colors. He was truly ready for the next lesson.
Wiping a tear from his eyes, King Kai let the last vestiges of his laughter wheeze out of him, before he dusted his knees off and stood up straight.
"You did quite well, Typha. Now I think it is time we try to teach you one of my most powerful techniques... The Kaioken."
King Kai loved the part where he got to explain how it worked.
"The Kaioken is an incredibly powerful ability. It boosts every aspect of your body and spirit. Speed, strength, hearing, sight-- even taste and smell are improved! However, the immense and sudden increase in energy output will seriously harm your body, especially if overused. You must take extreme caution; only use the Kaioken as a last resort. Understand?"
He waited, watching the Konatsian curiously to see his reaction. Would he take King Kai's message to heart, or try to dismiss the worries like so many cocky fighters had done before?

Typha stood to wait as he heard the hint of laughter. Typha's widened as he waited to see if King Kai would fall for the joke. Then he heard his laughter burst out. He had done it King Kai was laughing! He would have cheered but he just nearly fell back from exhaustion and pain. King Kai really did pack a punch. King Kai was messing with him too that was the crazy part. At least he assumed sending a Balloon warrior after him was messing around. Typha walked over to King Kai as he stood back up. "Your really quite strong master I couldn't image facing you at your best." Typha bowed his head in respect. Then King Kai began to explain the Kioken. He raised his head looking at him. "The Kio what?" Typha had never heard of such a techquine.
Typha took a few steps back just in case King Kai was about to use it but he was just going to explain what it was. A power that boosted all your senses and your body. It would be a powerful technique he beat it could also stack with the powers one already had. However, King Kai gave him a warning. That the Kioken would badly strain one's body and he bet that be even worse since he was alive. He also felt while dead his body could take a lot more punishment. As King Kai explained the Kioken was the last resort it was not some toy to be used. Typha nodded seriously. "I understand this technique could really kill me If I'm stupid. I would have no reason to use it unless my life is on the line regardless. I am ready to be bestowed such a power if you think I am worthy." Typha bowed his head once again to King Kai.

"Okay then. At least I warned you."
King Kai took a deep breath. It'd been a while since he'd taught someone this technique. Would Typha treat it with the respect it deserved? Of anyone he'd ever taught, the Konatsian seemed the most respectful of rules. Maybe this would be good for North Galaxy.
"The Kaioken will only activate in response to a need. Be it the strength to beat your nemesis, or maybe just the speed to catch up to some old monkey. Whatever the case, you need to focus on that need, internalize your Ki, and then let it explode out! Oh-- and make sure to shout 'Kaioken!' too, or else it won't be as useful."
The Shinjin summoned a shield in front of him, and gestured for Typha to try his luck.

Typha nodded as King Kai began to explain how the Kioken would be activated. How it'd only respond to a need of some sort. How it was a techquine to be used when someone needed something not when someone desired an outcome. Typha nodded that was a big difference. He couldn't just use the Kioken to make something easier for himself. He would only use it when he had no other option and only when he was in full focus to not lose control of such power. Then King Kai explained its activation. He had to focus that need and then bring his ki inside then yell out the words Kioken. He was unsure if that last part was a joke but he'd not question it. Maybe at a low level, he'd need such words to have a focus for his ki.
Typha spread his legs out a bit farther as he focused his ki inside his body. His aura faded away as all his ki was brought inside his body. He could feel the strain but he knew he could hold on. He closed his eyes imaging the shield in front of him being far tougher than anything he could break with his current power. His fists coiled tighter as he keeps thinking. If he didn't get past this shield what would he lose? He'd imaged people waiting for his aid but he had to get past his foe. The shield in his mind took in the form of Monster the creature that had slain him. He'd need all the strength he could muster to take him down. The only way he'd have the power was the Kioken at this moment. "Kaio...Ken!" Typha roared out as he charged towards the shield sending a punch forward at the shield and see if it would have any effect.
