Soul Recycling
The Soul Recycler is the top method of returning deceased souls to the living realm! Ordinarily, a soul that is recycled would return as a new entity, lacking the memories and experiences of its past being. However, this doesn't have to be the case. Through some clever tweaks and maybe a little minor theft, an individual in the Afterlife may figure out a way to return themselves to life -- with almost no consequences! King Yemma may not be happy, but you won't have to worry about him... at least until you die again. The path to recycling your own soul is a long one, and it shouldn't be taken lightly: aside from the fact that you will be breaking some pretty serious rules to do it, it's liable to take anywhere from five to seven months to manage safely.***How it Works
- Each month a character is active and engaged in Afterlife RP (see the next section), they are eligible to gain a single cheat sheet. These reduce the price of activating the Soul Recycler in half, as seen in the table below.
0 Sheets: 1,000,000 XP
1 Sheet: 500,000 XP
2 Sheets: 100,000 XP
3 Sheets: 50,000 XP
4 Sheets: 10,000 XP
5 Sheets: 5,000 XP
6 Sheets: Free!
The Afterlife can be a quiet place. For this reason, the definition of what being active is could fluctuate over time. In general, it means being actively engaged in threads over the course of a full month. You don't need to post every day, but you should be active on the forums at least a couple times a week. If you miss a week, don't worry: your activity in the other three weeks of the month will still be considered. Your involvement in the training board, whether in groups or in solos, will also be taken into consideration. It isn't about posting at a high volume or throwing yourself into the thick of everything going on in the Afterlife: it's just about staying active and posting at, at minimum, a leisurely pace.
If you do not receive your cheat sheet at the beginning of the next month, please get in touch with staff to ensure you have not been overlooked. All cheat sheet awards will be logged in this thread, along with the purchases and uses of the keys themselves.Until further notice, the activity requirement is severely reduced due to the IRL pandemic. This applies from February 2020 and forwards.
