Thread PL - 2,000 Late afternoon in West City. The drone of vehicles swept through the cool air, as the many cacophonous conversations of the people filled the streets and sidewalks. Few clouds dotted the mostly clear sky overhead, colored orange by the setting sun.
The mechanical woman known as Nikel stood just at the door of her new workplace, CURE Industries. Her hands rest in the pockets of her casual slacks, leaving the fabric's protection only to brush the occasional lock of rust-colored hair from her face. Small amounts of dirt stained her otherwise pristine long-sleeved shirt, a mar on her image that she was anxious to see be made right and the reason for concealing her hands and wrists from view.
When the transmission had at last come through, informing the android of the latest status of her current project, she left the building's entryway to join the throng of humans on the streets. In the few days since she had been hired to work at CURE, things had been going well. Her cultivation project was progressing smoothly, though there was no telling when it would be presentable, and Mr. Ghoti seemed pleased with her work thus far. There was even talk of meeting with more of the higher ups when it was time to reveal her project to the rest of the company.
Her mind occupied itself with these pleasant thoughts and more while she walked. The gaze of her blue eyes left her path momentarily every so often to inspect a higher-than-usual life force in the vicinity, only to be disappointed by the bore of yet another ki sensitive human. Maybe, if the proper research subject presented itself, she could start on a new project soon.

Cadenza wasn't much of a prowler, or the type to stay in one position for a very long amount of time without having something other to do with herself, so it was natural to expect the majin to bide her time with other activities in west city. Of course she wanted to learn more about this CURE place to further flaunt her intellect even IF she already was a genius. Even smart people needed breaks, even if you were one of the smartest in the world like Cadenza was, it didn't hurt to try to grab a snack while a clock did the rest of the work for you. Slurping up the noodles with her chopsticks, she moved her way back to the position in which she had been waiting to see someone that may of possibly worked at the place.
As she the noodles sat between her lips and the paper cup she ate them from she had also noticed a person walking from where she had been waiting! That person was probably someone who worked with Cure unless they also wanted a meeting like Cadenza did...it would probably be best to go check that out actually before the person in question got lost inside the sea of people.
Cadenza would finish the rest of her noodles, the end of them slapping against her lips before they slipped past her mouth. Before advancing forward to confront this employee herself she'd toss the cup that previously held noodles into the nearest trash bin, not even checking to see if it made it in, she was a genius of course the cup made it in without her aiming.
There were a few people in the way, using her genius like reflexes to slip her way past everyone that she might of bumped into on the way. She'd finally caught site of the person, no doubt there were two obvious things that made it obvious this was the person she say that couldn't of been mistaken no matter how far away you were. Of course it was firstly that red hair of her's and another thing that poked out- Cadenza couldn't quite put her finger on what it was though. Using herself as an obstacle to prevent the woman from advancing without noticing her, Cadenza would adjust her glasses slowly as she aimed to speak to the person.
"Hello, I'm majin Cadenza- you're with those CURE people...aren't you?" Cadenza wore her usual Orange star high school Shirt and sneakers, and obviously the glasses without lenses that pretty much never left her face.
Nikel hadn't gotten more than fifty feet from the door before something had blocked her path. Annoyed at first, she came to a stop just outside of arm's reach of the pink figure standing in her way, though the creature did intrigue her. In the seconds it had taken for the Majin to introduce itself, her internal systems had measured its life force, and triggered the warning that whatever this thing's intent, it had the capacity to be a threat.
Of course, she was more curious about the creature's steadily fluctuating energy than anything else.
"Why, yes, I am." The mechanical woman allowed herself a small grin while she answered the pink creature. She didn't look like much, the Majin. Pink, supple skin. Large, white eyes behind glasses frames with no lenses. The android supposed that she might attend school, if the one article of clothing that was visible were any indication, though that detail wasn't particularly important. The holes found across the forms of all Majin in uniform patterns had always intrigued her, as well.
"Why do you ask?" With her hands still in her pockets, Nikel tilted her head some to accentuate her inquiry. To be honest, she had never had the time to properly look at a Majin, let alone to inspect one's life energy for more than a few seconds at a time. It was the steady fluctuation that intrigued her the most, and there was... something that set it apart from the life force of humans; enough that she needed to know why.

Upon approaching the lady, Cadenza was glad to find out that she had indeed found the right person that she wanted to talk to- someone that worked with CURE. the woman didn't seem to have any objection as to tell her this either, which could only spell good things for the company itself- no shady organization would be so open as not keep a lock down on need to know topics such as it's employees. Cadenza would adjust her glasses before nodding to the woman...only to adjust her glasses a second time.
"As I thought, good I've been watching you- or more specifically this building, I thought a genius like myself could benefit from knowing more about the organizations in my city, or on my planet for that matter" Cadenza spoke while looking up at the sky, keeping her arms firmly folded behind her back as she explained to the woman why it was she had decided to approach. Looking back to the woman after a few moments of silence- Cadenza assumed the woman knew what that meant...or at least she hoped so, Because Cadenza knew nothing- like..NOTHING about CURE, only that they existed.
"Thing is, I don't know a thing about the place- I am sure with my genius intellect you and I could come to some sort of agreement on you telling me about Cure?" Cadenza didn't come unprepared with such a promise either, behind her back in one of her hands she held multiple coupons to that ramen shop she loved to go to, this would surely get her in the clear with this scientist lady-. Even with her genius intellect, there was nothing else Cadenza could possibly offer that was better than this! So if all went well she'd show the woman the coupons in exchange for that tasty information on CURE.
"How about it? I'm sure I could make it worth your while"
A small seed of unease had sprouted in the recesses of the woman's mind as she observed the pink stranger. The Majin adjusted her -rather pointless- glasses once... then again before answering, only to admit to stalking the android. Another small seed was taking root in her mind, as frustration bloomed while the stranger looked in every which direction but at herself while she spoke.
Yet, the promise of data on such a rare entity was enough to keep her calm, for now.
"Well, that information isn't difficult to come by." Nikel answered the woman while trying to maneuver past her blockade. Though it took a moment, and she had bumped into more civilians than she would've liked, she did get around the Majin and started on her path again. "Come. We're blocking the walkway," she instructed the pink-toned creature.
"What is it that you would like to know? CURE Industries makes no secret of its work, as we have and continue to lead in the fields of medicine and medical technology." She explained, or rather, she gave the canned response that she'd been instructed to give to any members of the general public who asked such questions. In truth, the company and she herself were involved in... so much more. If the public knew half the things she had seen, there was no telling what the reaction might've been!

The red haired woman took an inadvertent shot at Majin Cadenza's pride when she exclaimed that information about CURE wasn't hard to come bye, but of course a genius such as Cadenza couldn't be subject to embarrassment...EVER, so all this meant was that...whatever information she had already heard of wasn't important enough for her to remember! Of course that was it...less important things were less important to keep track of. When the woman relayed the fact that they were interrupting sidewalk traffic, Cadenza didn't mind to start walking along with the woman.
It said a lot that the so called CURE's information wasn't exactly hard to come by, for one it meant that Cadenza had possibly been wasting her time trying to find out about what it was they actually did- Capsule Corp was probably as interesting as things were going to get if CURE wasn't something upon leagues of turning proportionate items into small pills. From what the red haired woman said...it didn't sound like something as impressive as Caps Corp. Cadenza would actually stop walking when the woman brought up medical technology. Was that really it? medicine and healing? The majin would tilt her head to the side looking to the woman.
"..That's all? You're...a clinic?" She'd ask in a somewhat rhetoric manner. Catching up with the woman she'd take the ticket coupon she had in her hand from behind her back and hand it to her. "Here, it's a coupon for some godly ramen...I was kind of hoping for more out of cure but...I should have guessed it was just a clinic..." She'd say before adjusting her glasses.
"If it's okay with you, I think I'mma go- I don't think I have any more questions about CURE" Cadenza would say before slowly rising off of the ground, ready to fly away.
As it seemed, the Majin was unimpressed with the information she'd been given. With a disapproving tone, she'd made light of the work done at CURE, but more importantly, of the accomplishments that the mechanical woman herself had made. The comparison to some lowly clinic had struck a nerve, so to speak, and Nikel could already feel the urge to tell off this stranger rising.
Yet, her anger was abated by mild confusion, as she politely accepted the small piece of paper from her would-be stalker. While the pink woman adjusted her glasses once more, the redhead glanced down and confirmed what she'd been given, a coupon for a local ramen shop.
"So be it." Nikel vented her frustrations with a brief sigh as the other woman began to float up and above the crowd. While some of the gathered masses gawked in amazement, she simply turned her attention back to the path and continued onward. At some point, she'd crumpled the paper in her hand and dropped it on the ground without a second thought, and her vague expression twisted into an amused smile. No, she couldn't have taken a sample from the Majin by force, not without damaging both herself and her reputation in the city. Maybe, once she had made more progress, the two of them would meet again.
After all, she did have the creature's life force signature now.
