“It’s a normal thing for a few of the kids? So much for being sneaky about it then.” In addition to that, almost sending someone through a wall was far from stealthy. “How do you figure that you’re not a very good influence about it? I think you’re doing very well despite looking after more than five children at a time— mostly on your own too.” It took many things to be even remotely capable of such a feat; dedication, discipline and most importantly; love. “But hey, I don’t know the whole situation— I’m just speaking from what I’ve observed.”
The concept of Noki potentially having some manner of power seemed to worry Zhalla, and Nero couldn’t quite understand why. “Well, then what is the problem, if I may ask? I wanna be sure that I fully get where you’re coming from is all.”
Nero smirked, Haden was a good kid; he had that ‘tough guy’ attitude about him, but he absolutely knew what was up— Nero could absolutely relate to that, he was somewhat similar to Haden as a child. The situation regarding Alle became all the more odd as Zhalla explained what she knew. “Fear of vehicles..?” Nero repeated, tilting his head in thought. “I guess that’s... A thing. Being afraid of something or having a full on big phobia is just something that happens though. On the other hand, if it’s actually linked to the memories of the girl that she was made to emulate like you theorise— that’s definitely kiiiindaaa wwweeeeird? Jeez, is weird even the right word to describe this whole deal? I mean no disrespect by the way, I just can’t think of any better way to describe it.” Nero swayed his head from side to side, trying to make sense of Alle’s situation. The Saiyan felt bad for her though— that much was certain— and his intensely contemplative expression was proof of that.
“Ahh okay, I see. Hopefully I’ve helped embolden what knowledge you already had.” Nero also understood why Uba ‘wanted’ to be a Dragon Clan Namekian, it was for his adoptive brother. Unfortunately nobody would know for what clan he belonged to unless they found Uba’s birth parent or he exhibited more clear cut qualities from any of the three clans. “Yeah. I don’t blame him. If he’s showing periodical bouts of physical strength, I’m guessing he has Warrior Clan qualities. My knowledge on how all that works isn’t fantastic though, so what do I know.” Nero frowned hearing Zhalla’s theory on Uba’s regeneration capabilities. “As obvious as this sounds; it shouldn’t have been either of the boys.” Nero said sternly. At first his expression soured thinking about the absolute trash that had been the ‘parents’ of the two boys. A few moments later Nero sighed, his expression softening. “But I can kind of understand why he... Might be saying those things. As terrible of a thing as it is to even think, it comes from a place of love in his mind.”
“Yeah, I’m on board for the continued tales of ‘Zhalla’s Loveable Rascals’; honestly it’s becoming a favorite series of mine.” Nero nodded approvingly. “Oh you should see how excited he was when he told me. You know the descriptor often given to really peppy people; the whole ‘ray of sunshine’ deal? He was basically that times a thousand at least.” Whenever Nero spoke about Pankaa, he certainly fit the bill himself, it was almost as if he was glowing too— a real ray of sunshine indeed!
“Exactly, I agree, sharing something like that is always better with close friends.” Nero remained energetic, but no further flickers of literal energy occurred around him at this time.
Nero returned a raspberry after Zhalla mentioned people being squeamish about scars. “Sensitive is one thing, I’d say that gets a bit of a pass. Otherwise, I think a lot of those people are, I dunno, immature in a way.” He scoffed lightly, rolling his eyes a bit. “Especially if they’re adults and aren’t squeamish— because they should know better than to shame someone for their looks.” His eyes narrowed at Zhalla’s cheeky expression, but he smirked in response nonetheless. “Hmm, that’s different though— Uba cares about you and your health; he isn’t judging you at all, you goose.” Nero added, returning the shoulder bump as well.
As Zhalla rushed off, Nero snorted— was she issuing a challenge then? Very well! “We’ll see about that~!” He called out before making a forward dash of his own; the difference being that he did not run. Instead, he decided to glide just above the ground as fast as he possibly could. Since he wasn’t running, he wouldn’t be impeded by the physics of running through sand; and hoped this would give him some form of advantage in the little ‘race’.

Zhalla laughed lightly and shook her head at Nero, "I'm surprised you don't already know why, didn't we fight the first day we met?" She'd raise an eyebrow but kept a smile up, "I don't think I'm a good influence on it because as much as I don't look like one, I'm still a Saiyan and I still get into fights, yeah mostly only when I have to and such but not always, they've all seen me get into punch ups before, I'm not the worst influence but I can't say I'm the best either on it." The ginger saiyan would smile lightly, running her fingers through her hair, undoing her lazy pony tail for a moment to do so before doing it back up as messy as before. "It's not easy, don't get a lot of time like now to myself all that often but I can't not do it, it gets stressful at times but that's life" Zhalla eventually shrugged lightly as she didn't exactly see what she was doing as being something all that noteworthy.
The saiyan would sigh lightly about the part about Noki though and would take a moment to pause before speaking up again, "It's because the type of power mostly. He gives off the impression of Saiyan power almost and it scares Uba" Rubbing her hands down her face for a moment she'd let out a held breath, "I don't want for Uba to be scared more then he is already and I don't want for Noki to feel like he can't be his full self around Uba either. What if he isn't a human? What if he grows a tail? You've seen what Noki is like you know he'd hide it for Uba or worse try to remove it on his own for Uba's sake, I just don't want that for him" She almost sounded close to being on the verge of tears over the matter but clearly had experience in holding that sort of thing back enough to not be noticed. "He's happy being how he is now, I want that to stay"
When it came to the subject of Alle she'd frown lightly, "Yeah fears and phobias happen but it's something she's had since I've met her, you know? She's never said exactly why she's afraid of them and I'm not sure what could've happened to make her that petrified, the only vehicle she's touched this past year would have to be my bike and that was only because we were in a hurry for something but she said she never wanted to go on it again afterwards." Zhalla rubbed behind her head lightly, hoping she wasn't just that bad of a driver to the young girl. "No disrespect taken, it's an odd situation, I just hope they didn't give her that poor passed girls memories right up to her very last moments, though I have no idea how they'd manage that, it'd be cruel to do"
"I figure he may have Warrior Clan qualities too, but I don't bring it up to him because it's the last one he'd want to have, you know?" Zhalla looked to the sand nearby her legs and took in a deep breath, "Being physically strong reminds him of their parents, he doesn't want to be like them" She'd smile lightly at what Nero said though, "I know that seems obvious but even I struggle to think it sometimes, I often wish it had of been myself even instead of Uba's brother. If it meant he'd be fine now, you know? As silly as that is it's hard not to blame yourself when you were there when it happened, you always feel like maybe there was something more you could've done for a better outcome and it's your own fault for not having done more during the time it happened"
Zhalla would brighten back up again though, shaking the thought from her mind enough to manage up a smile and gave Nero another light punch to the shoulder at what he called her stories about home and the kids. "I'll be sure to let em know you said that" She nodded at the ray of sunshine part and seemed glad to hear Nero's kid got that happy, "He sure is in good hands that kid"
"I think some people just don't like what a scar can imply I guess too, I've gotten plenty that made it clear they thought I was someone who got into fights too often cause of it, but hey they aren't wrong there" She'd shake her head and chuckled lightly, "Guess you could say I'm not used to being around other adults who simply don't mind like yourself" She'd smile at the part about Uba and took his shoulder bump in stride.
Zhalla was off rather quickly but Nero's gliding gave him a lot more of advantage, on top of her also heaving a heavy board along with her while his arms were free along with having no extra added weight. It was in this moment she sure wished she wasn't so poor in the ways of flying and gliding. The Saiyan women would let out a disgruntled noise knowing she was bound to lose now as she hadn't thought this out as well as she should have, ah well! She beat him last time so it was only fair he won this one.
"Alright, ya got me this time pancake boy" She'd give a few huffs as she'd slow down her running once they actually got to the water, instead carefully trudging into it and through the sloshy sand at the bottom to get to the waist-deep area. Setting the board down against the waters surface she'd keep a hand on it to walk it alongside her through the water once they got deep enough. "Alright, wanna go one at a time to start with? Or would you like to stand on it behind me to learn first? I'll hold the board steady and all that, so you can get on if you'd like to start that way"

Nero shrugged, Zhalla did have a solid point. “Yeah, but I’m sure you don’t go around picking fights for absolutely no reason. You strike me as more of... Well, kinda like me. One who would battle for a purpose greater than thrill or the need for adrenaline. Someone who would train with an honorable ideal bigger than themselves in mind.” Though it was true that many believed they fit these conditions; some twisted it into something vile. Before Zhalla had cause for worry, Nero clarified; “and I mean that in the truest sense. You protect those unable to do so themselves. You care more than most; you take in many youths and give them a chance at a better life. If you still think you’re not a good influence given these facts— I’m sorry but you’re dead wrong.” He said, giving her an incredibly confident look. Where most Saiyans would have this expression when confident in themselves— right now, he was so assured of the prowess of someone else.
The same could be said for what he thought of Noki, for Nero’s expression barely shifted when the conversation looped back to the young man. Of course, Nero understood Zhalla’s feelings, he too wanted the best for Uba. “I can see why you would be concerned. I understand that Uba is afraid too, if I were in his shoes I would be too, but... I don’t know if you noticed the other day, but he actually came out from behind the counter to wave to me when I left. I’m pretty sure he knows what I am.” Nero chuckled a little. “One who is brave, is one who conquers fear. If it’s for friends like the ones Uba has, he’ll do it, I’m certain of that.” He did notice a shift in Zhalla’s tone, but her experience in holding back certain emotions let it slide under Nero’s radar for the most part— he figured it wasn’t something to pry into, out of respect for her. “I believe their friendship is strong. Incredibly strong, in fact. I doubt Uba would let a friend of his harm themselves like that for him.”
Much like Zhalla, Nero frowned while further pondering Alle’s situation. It seemed to just make sense that a motor vehicle accident took the life of her original template. “You’re right, if that's what they willingly did, it’s cruel...” There was also the slim chance that the spirit of the ‘original’ Alle somehow managed to inhabit or influence the ‘new’ Alle. Stranger things have happened, Nero supposed. “There could be more to it though— at least I think there might be.”
“Members of the Warrior Clan are more than just physical strength— they are strong of heart. If anyone fit that, it would be Uba.” Nero let out a triumphant exhale from his nose. “He’s already nothing like those idiot losers.” Nero’s eyes narrowed at Zhalla when made the implication she often wished to be the one that took the most punishment. “And leave the whole bunch of them with no caregiver? No, you stop that. Knock that right off. Unacceptable. You wanna know who deserves being in such a state? Well, it’s not you, not Uba, and certainly not his brother. The only ones that deserve a major beating like that were their ‘parents’, a title they clearly never had the right to hold in the first place— and you know that.” Nero was never one to mince words, especially on a subject that meant something to him; family.
Nero didn’t go into the subject any further. He said what he needed to and he had the feeling that Zhalla would appreciate his straightforward no nonsense attitude on the matter— she did dig confidence after all. “Heh, I’m sure that lot will appreciate it.”
On the subject of scars, Nero scoffed. “People really need to grow up. I get odd looks too, but anyone that knows me, or gets to know me knows better. Like I said, I’ve got no time for anyone that judges me based on anything else but who I am.” Nero shrugged.
In truth, Nero was kind of surprised that he beat Zhalla to the water. Perhaps the gift of flight was worth more than Nero thought. He didn’t need to wait for long considering how fast Zhalla was to begin with. “Scores are tied then, is that it~?” Still floating, Nero followed along out into the water. “Hmmm. Could you show me what you’ve got first? I wanna know what my potential coach can do! Then I’ll have a go with it and you can critique my level of skill. How does that sound?”

"Hah- Yeah, sure you got me there- Though I did used to on occasion, but who doesn't do dumb shit as a teen, right? Can't really afford to go out picking fights like that anymore though, got people to look after who're counting on me to come home each night in one piece afterall." Zhalla smiled lightly, feeling her cheeks flush with an odd sort of warmth for a moment but scoffed soon after too, "C'mon Nero, don't you think you're giving me a bit too much credit here?" She waved a hand, "I'm not saying I'm terrible or don't fit some of those things, but honorable? I try to help give those kids a better life, sure but I don't guarantee it and caring for other people isn't a noble thing anyway, it's common courtesy or at least it should be" He was confident and it showed, but she was stubborn and that showed too, he wouldn't be able to compliment her that easy.
"Pffft, you got lucky, that's what that was" The ginger saiyan would shake her head lightly, though truthfully she did not understand why Uba had taken to Nero so swimmingly and so early on too. "I noticed though yeah, but it's more then just your average fear for Uba, it's more of an intense phobia and that's a lot harder to overcome, I think you just got lucky that day and he was trying to be polite about the pancake gifts especially since most delivery men don't come in to see the kids" Rubbing behind her head she would keep her gaze away. "It is strong, but that's partly why I think Noki would do something drastic if it turned out to be true, Uba wouldn't want him to but you know Noki would- probably before Uba could even notice"
"I think so too, I just... Don't know how to really find out without poking her about it- which I don't exactly want to do, you know?"
"Oh I know that, try telling that to Uba, he knows which he wants to be, strong at heart doesn't help his brother." She had to admit that Nero made a good point but it was the only point that made her think she did the right thing in regards to that situation as well... "Nero-" She caught his narrowed eyed look and blew a light raspberry with her mouth- in all fairness she deserved the rattling she got from him and she knew what she'd said was foolish, but still... "Listen- I know, I know it seems stupid for me to say and I know on the surface that what I did was the most right thing I could've done in the moment but-... I'd give anything to have saved that kid better then what I had done, you know?" For a second she paused- Hiccuping lightly on her own words as she struggled to hold back how she really felt on the matter but she knew she didn't want him to see her cry or anything of the sort, so for a moment she brought up one of her arms to cover her eyes and most of her face while she took a deep breath to help her push it all back. "I'd give so much to save that kid..."
After managing to compose herself and once seemingly back to normal, Zhalla would smile lightly and raise a brow "Suppose I was just checking like I always do when around people I care about" The saiyan would shoot the other a wink but said nothing more on the scars matter.
"Oho, if that's the case we'll have to have a round 2 on fighting huh? Throw down right here right now on the beach, huh?" She was clearly being playful in her tone but if he did actually want to throw down she wasn't about to say no. "Hmmhmhm~ Alright alright- Though that second match does sound mighty tempting now too-"

“Hell yeah, damn right I got you there.” Nero exhaled sharply out his nose in a triumphant manner. Though, he could see where Zhalla was coming from and did agree that common decency as well as common sense should be seen as normal. “See, we both know that to be true, right? The way I see it, because we know that, we teach it... Then, in turn, those we teach will know it, so on and so forth.” Nero smiled bright as he spoke on the topic further. “Maybe we won’t see that wider level of results, but who we are matters. What we do matters. We’re the result of people doing the same in the past.” He chuckled, gently bumping Zhalla in the shoulder with a fist. “You’re part of a bigger picture, alright?”
Maybe luck wasn’t what it was, he was a kind and courteous guest, and Uba clearly recognised it. “Perhaaaps, but only Uba would know for sure if it was luck or not.” If nothing else, if it was purely just luck, then Nero had some strong as hell connection to it. “I hope Uba knows I appreciate his bravery, given what I know now. Could you tell him that for me?”
On the topic of Noki; Nero could obviously relate to Zhalla’s statement quite a bit in some way— his face had the scars to prove it. “Yeah, you’re right.” Nero wouldn’t necessarily blame Noki for protecting those that he cared for, there were ways to do it without endangering yourself just as much if not more, but being self destructive for the sake of someone else was a massive no-go in Nero’s opinion. “I wouldn’t worry about him growing a tail. It’s a painful and intentional process for someone of Saiyan lineage to go through. Plus, it can only happen once if you ever lose your tail to begin with. Maybe he doesn’t have enough Saiyan about him to even have one ever. That’s also a possibility.”
As for Alle, Nero gave Zhalla a nod. “I understand, I treat Pankaa speaking about his own past the same way— if he wants to talk about it he will, and I won’t force him to. When Alle wants to talk about it, I’m sure she will, especially if she knows how much you care about her. Maybe it’s a bit hard for her to tell that you do, so what you’ll need to do is let her know, right?”
It was understandable that Uba wanted to be a member of the Dragon Clan, since it would potentially bring some measure of magical healing ability to the table. “Maybe not, but it does help Uba in a way doesn’t it? To be strong of heart, ready to love his brother all the same, all the time— so they’d pick up where they left off. Wouldn’t his brother want that for him?” Nero thought openly, wondering what Zhalla had to say on the matter. “Love alone is a very powerful thing, is all I’m saying—” He smiled to Zhalla, bringing that statement from Uba to her as well. “—and you’re pretty fucking strong, got it?” Putting a hand on Zhalla’s shoulder, Nero hoped to give her some comfort and reassurance while her composure broke somewhat. “I’m in your corner, remember that.” Once Zhalla settled herself, Nero gave her a pat on the shoulder before returning to a less emotional topic of conversation.
“A round two sounds like fun, but maybe not today— some other time for sure though.” Weirdly enough, Nero had recently got more open to the idea of a good friendly match with people he had more positive views on. “For now, we master the waves, and bend the very ocean to our every whim to pull off some sick stunts~” Nero gestured to the ocean with a bow to Zhalla. “So please, show me ya moves~!”
