Tarch PL: 160,000. Energy Suppression: 5 Since coming home from Namek, Tarch’s senses had been turned to an eleven. Having mastered super saiyan, he had full access to his power once more. The months of sweat, blood, and tears really paid off. Of course, his strongest trait had been heightened as well. His senses. Given a quiet and peaceful location, the young hybrid could sense just about every living thing on planet Earth. That was why he felt a disturbing pit form in his stomach when he couldn’t sense Chime. Most lower power levels all sort of jumbled together to make one blob of energy. The kami was anything but a lower power. His title even translated to a higher power. So where was he? Tarch just had to go and check for himself. To his horror, The Lookout had a grim shadow nearby. A large and imposing ship flying just a mile or so away. Was Earth being invaded? Alien ships weren’t exactly uncommon in this day and age, but what was it doing so close to The Lookout. This couldn’t just be a coincidence, could it? Determined to find out, Tarch flew in for a closer look after putting on his arm brace and eye guard. The ship was huge! Probably big enough to hold Belle’s fleet ship and then some. Of course, Tarch had his power level suppressed in case any invaders were around trying to pick up their own intruders. Yet as Tarch looked around, he noticed something strange. Scattered around the ship was the Saiyan Kingdom brand. “Wait, I thought Vegeta and Earth were cool with each other. So then…” Who’s ship was this? It couldn’t have been Mr. Vocado’s. Unless he somehow took back the throne. It wasn’t Nashua’s. Tarch had the displeasure of running into it only a million times when he was trying to find the Dragon Balls. Ramen’s? Did Ms. Ramen have a ship? If not hers, then it had to be… Tarch’s face lit up. Even if it wasn’t any of the Kingdom members he knew well, that still meant the ship was friendly. Tarch began trying to draw attention to himself. Maybe the ship had cameras? “Hey! Hey, who’s ship is this? Whoever it is, this is Tarch!”Queen Kayen

Barb hummed to herself as she did her work on the control room, the Stormbreaker was in many ways an amazing technological feat being absolutely jam packed with some of the best spacefaring equipment available even BEFORE Kayen had the Kingdom’s resources, but at the same time a whole hell of a lot of it was rather… haphazardly put together, clearly Kayen’s last mechanic had been GOOD and those who had serviced the ship on Raiti were great at maintainin it… But it could be BETTER, and Barb had made it her personal mission to see that become a reality. Right now she was working on the ships sensor arrays, the systems were composed of a ton of high end systems… just not all necessarily compatible and oocsionally they conflicted with eachother. Uria often complained about the system and now she finally had a chance to- The system lit up around her prompting Barb to yelp in surprise and fall backward She had specifically had the ship brought up near the Lookout to AVOID anything triggering the sensors! What the hell going on? Basic wildlife wouldent trigger it so… Barb scooted herself into view of the sensor array and raised an eyebrow as some of the external cameras were picking up a person a child “Wait… I know that kid” Barb muttered as she locked the image as the kid waved wildly at the side of the ship. That was Tarch, she’d not met him herself but knew of him through Kayen, he was surprisingle a sort of… student of the Queens, learning swordsmanship from her. How the kid could survive that training was beyond her but presumably Kayen would want to see him and so after a few minutes one of the front panels of the ship opened to allow Tarch entrance to the ship, assuming Tarch entered he would fine the control room mostly empty save for the teal skinned Saiyan woman.

Perhaps he should have been surprised, but Tarch just went inside as if it was no big deal. Most alien ships probably wouldn’t let some random child inside. That meant it HAD to belong to someone he knew right? The young hybrid bounded into the control room without a care in the world ready to greet whichever friendly saiyan it was.
“Hey! Thanks for- Oh.” Tarch wasn’t disappointed really, just taken aback. At the helm was a saiyan woman he never met, and an odd-looking one at that. Her skin was an odd blue-green. “Oh uh, hello ma’am. Sorry for bothering you. I just saw this was a saiyan ship… at least I think I saw the saiyan kingdom logo on it somewhere.” Come to think of it, the teen had no real idea what the symbol was supposed to look like. He’d seen it here and there before, and it was plastered everywhere on Vegeta. Still, he only kind of knew what it looked like. He could have mistaken any red edgy icon for the kingdom. “Anyway,” he continued after getting himself off track, “I know a lot of people from the Saiyan Kingdom and figured I’d come say hi.”
No sense being a stranger to this one though. “I’m Tarch by the way. I’m not actually a member of the kingdom myself. But I’m friends with… well just about everyone in it.” It was a funny thought, at least for him. The only person in the Saiyan Kingdom Tarch wasn’t too fond of was Cress. He was okay at first, but Tarch had the displeasure of seeing his more sadistic side in person. Ochra was cool but seemed really depressed lately. Auber… What was Auber doing these days? Otherwise, Nashua, Ramen, and of course, Kayen were all good in his book. Now he could make friends with a new person. “So is this your ship ma’am?”

Barb’s eye twitched just a tiny bit at being called ‘ma’am’ she knew the kid likely didn’t mean anything by it but it had the wierd implication that he saw her as old which she most certainly was NOT, she was younger than Kayen even! Only barely older than Nashua! “Yeah I figured you were, I remember you from when you drove the guards nuts trying to decide what to do about you just deciding to go to the throne room no matter how many of them said no” Barb said as Tarch introduced himself, she’d gotten pulled from her work to try to figure out what to do simply because she was one of the people most capable of getting in touch with Kayen directly without annoying her. “I’m Barb, and while this is not technically a Saiyan Kingdom ship it IS Kayen’s personal ship, the Stormbreaker, so no, not mine” no matter how much she wanted it to be “She’s on board if you want to meet with her, she’s not busy as far as I know and now that you’re inside you should be able to feel everyone's power signatures, or pick them up if you use a scouter” Barb explained not quite sure how or if at all the boy picked up power signatures, if not she would probably have to give the Queen a call. “From what I know she wouldn't mind you wandering the ship if you want to go find her instead of me calling her up, just try not to break anything if you do since I’ll have to fix it, and don't let the rest of the crew intimidate you, they’re not as bad as they look… mostly… and it’s not as if any of them could actually beat you in a fight” Barb didn’t even need to read Tarch’s power to know that, the kid trained with Kayen herself and the Queen considered him worth her time to do so, there was no doubt that he would likely tear the entire crew apart even if they all came at him at once.

Almost immediately Tarch seemed to relax. He couldn’t help but give a nervous chuckle when he was reminded of the time he invaded the saiyan palace. It seemed like just about anyone a little too strong could just waltz right in and claim to know the queen. He may not have been born and raised on Vegeta, but even he thought that was a bit of a serious security flaw. Maybe they just didn’t want to hurt a kid? Didn’t exactly stop Kayen. Speaking of it did seem like this woman knew her.
“Wait so I’m on a pirate ship? That’s so cool! And kinda scary.” Barb went on to give Tarch free reign of the ship to his surprise. She promised that despite the crew’s seemingly rough nature they wouldn’t try to stop him. Then again, everyone was welcome to try. Sine mastering super saiyan, Tarch’s cockiness had been through the roof. In a way that made him glad to be seeing Ms. Kayen again. Nashua warned him about being too reliant on super saiyan, and how it wasn’t a toy. He already broke that rule, but to be fair it did help him grow more accustomed to it. That’s why someone like Kayen could probably knock some humility back into him.
“Oh cool! Yeah, I’ll go find her. Do me a favor though, don’t let her know I’m here? I wanna surprise her. It was nice meeting you!” With that, Tarch sauntered out of the control room, ready to try and explore this massive thing. Where to start? A moment of concentration revealed Kayen’s energy. She definitely on the ship somewhere. The question was how did he get there? The ship seemed huge. Even after asking some confused looking crew members for directions, Tarch couldn’t find his way around.
Finally, after just following Ms. Kayen’s energy Tarch came to a room marekd ‘Training.’ Yeah, he should have figured this would be where she was. The young hybrid gave a few quick knocks.
“Uh, excuse me. Queen Kayen? There’s someone at the door to see you.” Just as he finished his little charade, Tarch realized he was missing something important. He left the training sword she gave him back home! Sure she probably had extras, but that one was special to him. Then again, as far as he knew, the queen of Vegeta was actually on Vegeta and not flying above Earth.

“Sure thing kid” Barb said with a nod, Kayen had been pretty clear about it being fine for Tarch to be given free reign to wander the Palace if he showed up looking for her so it was unlikely that she would mind him wandering the Stormbreaker, as long as he did not cause any problems there would not be much to worry about. While she didn’t send out a message to inform Kayen of Tarch’s presence she DID send one along some of the private crew channels to let a fair amount of the crew that might run into the kid know that he was supposed to be here and to only bother him if he ended up causing a ruckus, coming from her that was almost as good as Kayen telling them not to mess with the kid considering Kayen had her handle a lot of stuff like this. Meanwhile in the gym Kayen was in the middle of her workout, her normal gear replaced by more simple workout clothes as she worked with the barbell Barb had designed for her that actually used her own power to amplify their effective weight along with some modified capsulization to provide a means for her to properly work out. When the doors slid open a familiar voice called into the room about someone here to see her, as distracted as she was Kayen didn’t immediately place the voice until she set the barbell back on the the bench rack and sat up to see that it was Tarch at the door she raised an eye before chuckling at the kid’s charade “Hey kid, how’s it going, long time no see.”

Tarch chuckled as his swordplay teacher actually took a moment to realize who was talking to her. He went to answer her question but found himself freezing slightly. His eyes trailed up Kayen’s face before his gaze fixated on her left eye. Or rather the lack-there-of. His previous childish giggle soon shifted into a sort of tired scoff. It seemed as though he was more like Kayen than before. He lifted up his hair to reveal his own handicap. He slowly rubbed a hand over where his new scar now rested. A testament to everything he'd been through. Though he still had his eye, he suddenly felt more like he could at least begin to relate to Ms. Kayen.
“I’ve seen worse days,” he laughed. Perhaps the pun was too much. But the semi serious tone of his voice probably showed this wasn’t just the average injury. Of course his eye patch was different. It was more armored sunglasses than an actual cover. After all he still had his eye, he just needed to keep it from getting hurt again. He let his hair drift back down. “But nah I’m actually doing pretty good! Actually I just got back from Namek not too long ago. Brought my mom back from the dead too!" Again he faltered. That was a long and painful story that despite the happy ending he preferred not to go into too much details. Maybe he should have kept that part to himself. He was just too proud of himself. Of course, she did meet and almost worked with Kohlra. They were like friends right? So she should be allowed to know. Maybe he could direct the conversation more towards his reason for stopping by. "Your ship sort of scared me though.”
As Tarch spoke he looked around the little gym to see just what the Queen did to keep herself in shape when she wasn’t fighting. He noticed one of the barbells and figured he could give it a try. He continued his thought as he picked up the weights. “A big piratey saiyan kingdom ship over Chime’s place is kind of- OH GEEZ.” Just as he lifted the bar from its bench, Tarch nearly dropped it on his foot. Well she wasn’t the ruler of the saiyans for no reason. It was only natural her weights would be as heavy as a mountain. Or at least he needed both hands. Luckily he saved himself further embarrassment when he much more easily picked it up with both arms. Still he gave a nervous chuckle as he placed the barbell back on its holder. “Ehehe. Yeah I was worried there was an invasion or something. So what are you doing on Earth Ms. Kayen? I thought you’d be on Vegeta doing… whatever Queens do on Vegeta.”

Kayen blinked as the boy casually mentioned that Kohlra had apparently died, granted perhaps it was easy to be casual about that when it was referenced alongside her revival. The concept of cheating death in such a manner still felt… wrong to her, obviously not wrong enough for her to not take advantage of it, but Kayen was not overly fond of the idea of an enemy she put down not STAYING down when killed. She decided not to push at questioning that right now though, it we pretty clear the subject was not a pleasant one for the boy and for good reason and Kayen could certainly understand not wanting to talk family. “It’s sorta supposed to so that’s good” Kayen said with a smirk. “Careful, these things are built to provide a workout while I’m transformed, as it is they’re packing about as much weight as Barb could artificially add to them, you’re lucky you’ve got yourself suppressed otherwise it you probably WOULD have dropped that on your foot and probably took it off”“I’m here to pay Carro and if I can ever get ahold of the green bean, Chime, a visit. Boring interplanetary politics stuff, the sort of shit I barely want to deal with and that I’m certain you have no interest in. Just trying to make sure I can make the moves I want to make without the risk of having a twenty foot tall metal lion breathing down my neck. Its never good to fight a battle on two fronts” It still amazed her how well things were going with Carro, she’d been CERTAIN he would have been a major issue for her but it seemed that maybe just maybe the pint sized president might have the heart of a Saiyan after all. “Other than what you mentioned before, how are things going? You been keeping up with your training?” The question had a double meaning, both a general quesion on his overall power but more pointedly on his developing skills with a sword.

Gross. Politics. Being in middle school, Tarch’s political knowledge was pretty much swayed by whatever his teachers were spouting along with anything his friends said in an effort to sound smart or worldly. Granted he did know Mr. Carro. He was a good guy in his book, so he must have been a fine president. Meanwhile Kayen was talking intergalactic politics. Tarch didn’t even want to begin to understand what hellish nightmares that entailed. As long as things were peaceful, he was okay. The topic of his training was another story though.
“Yep! I’ve been…” he stopped short. The Queen had given him a very special item for said training. Something he didn’t have with him. With the death of his mother, Tarch had neglected his sword play almost entirely. He practically only just picked it back up. “Well I was doing pretty well with my sword. My mom taught me a cool trick that really helped. She taught me how to put my energy into objects which helped A LOT. But after she died… I guess sword stuff kinda stopped for a while.”
Despite the brief moment of his downtrodden tone, Tarch quickly perked back up. There was something even better he had been practicing. “But I still trained in general! Probably trained harder than I ever had before! Especially since I had… something else… to uh…” As much as he tried to keep his upbeat attitude, the memories of sweat blood and tears that went into his aforementioned training still stung. He wanted to be happy and proud of his accomplishment, even wanting to brag and show off for Ms. Kayen.
“I had to learn how to master something else. Nashua helped me a lot, and for the most part I got it down. It was something I got AFTER my mom died.” While his tone wasn’t sad, there was definitely a more serious note hanging on Tarch’s voice. The teen wondered if Ms. Kayen would pick up on what he meant better than Nashua. “Maybe you can help too? We can take our minds off of dumb stuff like death and politics.” The two certainties of life.

Kayen was pleasantly surprised to find that Kohlra had taught Tarch something that linked very well with what she intended on teaching the boy, it was really unfortunate though that her death, even if it had only been temporary, had managed to put a halt on his personal training. She could certainly see that making sense though, unless it was something he considered his true passion it was unlikely the boy would look to training with his sword as a distraction from such an event. “That’s all good to hear, even if you didn’t get to do much work with your sword itself improving your general strength and learning to focus your energy though other things are both incredibly useful the former being particularly useful for the sword of techniques I’d like to show you once you’re a bit more comfortable with a sword."“Whatever you need a hand getting handled I’d be willing to help you with. Especially if it means a distraction from politics” Kayen said with a grin, she wasn’t immediately certain of what the boy was hinting at but he was very clearly trying to imply without saying it outright, as Kayen reset the gym equipment she took those few moments to mull it over. Something he needed to master, something he gained after Kohlra’s death, something he needed Nashua to help with. No. It wasn’t possible… was it? Kayen visibly paused as she took another look at the boy visually appraising him again before finishing what she was doing. “So, what is it that you need help with kid?” She had an idea but needed to hear confirmation before actually saying anything about it.

Tarch took in a deep breath. Rather than regale Kayen with the details of his initial transformation, he decided it was better just to show her. The teen already got the chance to pour his heart out with Nashua before showing her. But that was the kind of relationship he had with her. Nashua was like the nice big sister he never had. Ms. Kayen was more like the cool but scary aunt. The one that did her own thing despite what anyone in the “family” told her. Did that make Nero his easygoing uncle? Either way, Kayen was not the one to come to for sympathy. Nashua was words. She was action.
With a low grunt, Tarch immediately transformed into the golden form. “I can go in and out pretty easily,” he noted taking a moment to do a quick stretch, “but when I actually do something with even a little bit of power… Well, watch.” Tarch held up his hand, his palm facing up. He then created a small orb of ki. In a flash the ball began wildly pulsing, putting out as much power as he possibly could. Luckily he managed to snuff it out before he did any damage to the gym. “See? It’s like it’s all or nothing. Think you can help me Ms. Kayen?” Before she could answer he then remembered that he had another thing he could do if nothing else. “And maybe we can also practice my sword fighting if we get a chance?”

Kayen watched already sort of expecting the result but still finding herself amazed to watch nonetheless as Tarch powered up and then in a burst of energy became a Super Saiyan, the boy went on to explain the extent of his issue, that while he had control over entering the form to a reasonable degree he lacked control of his actual power output, specifically if he put anything out it was at full strength, not exactly an ideal situation unless the boy grossly overpowered all of his opponents and could afford to simply batter them down instantly. Kayen remained silent as she took a moment to look Tarch over and more importantly get a feel of his energy both while he was briefly projecting his attack and just his ‘resting’ power, to her surprise her first assumption was immediately proven wrong. Tarch was not using the untrained and more wild form that seemed to be the first ‘step’ of a Super Saiyan, his aura was too calm and the boy lacked any notable signs of struggling to maintain his transformation. Her first guess had been that perhaps the ‘intense’ nature of the form was a bit too much power flow for the boy, that he would need to master the form and calm his energy to regain control over his output. But that was pretty clearly not the issue at hand. Likewise he wasn’t overly muscular meaning the same potential issue of the bulked up second ‘step’ of Super Saiyan was not the cause of the problem either. “I had a few ideas once you transformed but most of them dont quite check out, my last guess is probably that you’re so used to having your power held back that your body and energy aren’t used to being at their peak quite so constantly, the variation of Super Saiyan that you’re using also has a very efficient flow of energy which might actually be working against you, its TOO good at letting you tap into your power” Kayen rattled off her theory not entirely certain if Tarch would understand what she was saying, ultimately though it was more to her own benefit to explain ti out loud and make sure there weren’t any obvious holes, perhaps even something Tarch could chime in on. “A bit of practice should help me get a better idea though so you’re in luck, if we’re going to train like that though” Kayen said gesturing at Tarch’s general super saiyan-ness “it’s probably best that you dont seem to have your sword with you, the wood probably wouldn't survive anything close to a serious strike.”“I’ve had some more tough practice blades made that should do the job until we have your situation figured out” Kayen paused debating on the next part, on if it would be better to tell the boy now or wait “Once we’re done I also have something to show you, its not ready yet but it should be ready soon enough, its… I suppose technically a gift, though one you have to earn”

“So it’s like… Kinda like… when… and… uhh…” Kayen’s jumble of words served little purpose as far as Tarch was concerned. He could barely decipher her theory. At least not all of it. There had to be a way for him to put what she said into his own words. “Okay I think… I get it? Since I couldn’t use my full power before, now that I can my body can’t stop? That sounds really weird. Yeah I don't think I get it now that I said it out loud.” Tarch thought for a moment. He knew that until recently his full power was seemingly out of reach for him. Just as all his teachers had told him, he grew so much so fast that his young teenage body just couldn’t keep up. Now that he could use his full power he didn’t know how not to do it. The teen did think of one thing that could help. “I’ve actually never fought anyone like this. I’ve fought as a normal super saiyan, but not this super saiyan.”
The topic of swords then came up. Tarch chuckled at the thought of his poor wooden sword having to even try and withstand one or even two super saiyans. He would have been heartbroken if it broke. That was a present from his scariest role model. A reminder of the person he craved to grow strong enough to beat. Someone to be better than in every way. It would be a real shame if that symbol broke from something so avoidable.
The queen caught his attention when she mentioned something she wanted to show him. “Something to show me? Well heck if I gotta earn it I’ll do my best! Even if it’s sword stuff. I guess you would have practice swords that work for people at our level.” That actually reminded him of something. Tarch never actually saw Kayen’s super form. She had to have it. If Vocado got his fighting her and still lost then she must have got it too. “By the way Ms. Kayen. Can I see what yours looks like? Your super saiyan I mean.”

“Don’t stress it too much, it’s not immediately important for you to understand my guesses on your current situation. If I’m right it technically wont matter at all, it will just be a matter of time and training for you to get back to where you used to be in regard to controlling your power, if you DON'T end up getting any sort of handle on it soon then there might be something more strange at play that needs looking into, but ultimately it should not be a major concern. Just a hurdle for you to overcome” And one she felt reasonably certain he would, the kid picked things up exceptionally quickly so if her guess was right it would just be a matter of working hard to get his power back under control and having some chances to actually do so. “The higher grade practice swords should do well enough though with your current condition we will likely have to bring in a few of them just in case, luckily I have them stored in here since it’s the most ideal place” Kayen said tapping her scouter and prompting one of the far walls to slide away revealing a wall of metal weapons, mostly swords of varying sizes. Kayen grinned as Tarch asked to see her transform “I suppose that’s fair, I forgot you haven’t actually seen me transformed.” When last they had interacted Tarch was still unable to fully access if power and even if he HAD it was unlikely Kayen would have had any reason to transform during their training session. Taking a step back Kayen effortlessly called on the legendary power, the gym rumbled slightly as if protesting the sudden power output but otherwise remained stable as Kayen’s hair and aura became golden, the Queen rolled her shoulders and let out an almost relieved sigh, it was so much more comfortable to be at her full strength like this.

Tarch smiled a big toothy grin. “Yeah! Honestly, I’m not too worried. I just don’t wanna accidentally hurt someone in like a friendly fight or anything.” That being said it wasn’t as if that would be a problem for most of the people in his life. Chromo could handle a super saiyan no problem. Nashua was probably the strongest saiyan alive. Mr. Vocado was his teacher. If he couldn’t handle him then everyone was in trouble. Ms. Kayen could beat Mr. Vocado, so she could probably put Tarch in his place if needed. Ms. Ramen… Actually, Tarch hadn’t seen her in a while. Come to think of it he would love to see her again sometime. As for the rest of his friends were either closely trailing behind or just barely ahead of the teen in terms of power.
Seeing another super saiyan though was still a trip. Tarch stared at the queen with a gaping smile. “Wow… That’s pretty crazy!” Tarch knew she had to have been a super saiyan for some time now. But actually seeing her gold and glowing was an experience. What was even more striking for the young hybrid was the gap in their power. But not how big it was as before. He was closing in on her. For the first time, Tarch could feel just how much progress he made.
“So! Uh…” He snapped himself from his revelry with a quick shake of his head. “I guess you would have swords that can handle super saiyans. Do you have one I can use? That'd be pretty cool." Another thought crossed his mind. Kayen always fought with a sword when she fought in earnest. So did that mean her usual weapon could withstand that kind of power? "Can uh… can your sword handle it? Y'know, the big one?” At the mere mention of Fateburn, Tarch’s hand instinctively went to scratch at the line across his chest. He no longer harbored the same fear of blades as before. Now it was respectful awe. But that cleaver still scared him.
