Kayen smirked at the boys excited reaction, it seemed that at least the ‘novelty’ of the transformation had not worn off for him as much as it had in some ways for Kayen. “Actually that’s part of the problem with the level of power we work with. Normal materials can’t really stand up to being used much, some of the only ‘common’ material that can even begin to sustain itself when taking its from people like you and me is the material that goes into most standard armors and the reasons it can do that ALSO make it mostly useless as a weapon” She’d given it a try, told Barb to do anything and everything she could to the material to alter it so that it could be made into a functional weapon but anything that resulted in it becoming tough enough to be an effective weapon almost inevitably resulted in it losing its sustainability. “Fateburn can handle my power because it IS made of a material that can survive intense power, from what I understand about it it’s made from a lesser form of Katchin, a metal renown for being essentially indestructible, the pure form of Katchin is of course useless to us because its TOO strong, short of throwing a chunk of it at an enemy, it cant be properly broken down in order to make something like Fateburn you need to find less pure versions, still very powerful but not invincible”“So if we’re going to fight you should fully expect the sword you’re using to eventually break down during the fight, I’ll make sure we have a few and they SHOULD be able to survive more than one strike, they’re made from some of the same materials used in the hulls of ships, the same stuff Barb used to upgrade the gym” Kayen made a gesture around them to the room though it was unlikely Tarch would be able to tell the difference between the more ‘normal’ materials and the higher grade stuff.

“Bless you…” Wait, no. She didn’t sneeze. It just sounded like it. “Oh. Oh!” That was something Tarch liked about Kayen. She was a simple and straight forward speaker. Easy to understand for the most part. Tarch was ready to ask how anyone could use a metal if you couldn’t break it into anything useful, but she explained Katchin in a way he could easily understand. Or at least in a way that left him with as few questions as possible. Otherwise, he just did not understand the intricacies of metalwork. Especially alien metal. However, that did give him a realization. “So is that what saiyan armor is made out of? I was able to wear it as a super saiyan and it didn’t break. But wait… then how is it so stretchy? And then how does it make a good gym? Oh wow does that mean...” So much for no questions. Tarch aimed his open palm at an open portion of the wall and fired a small quick blast. He winced as he remembered this was not his. Luckily his blast was weak enough that no real damage would be done. “Sorry, Ms. Kayen. I didn’t mean to… that is I… I think I’ll pick out a sword now.”
Luckily he had a room full of training swords to distract him. The teen quickly dropped his slew of queries in favor of finding a good weapon to train with. As he did a sly smile crossed his face. “Y’know.” he mused picking up a random blade. “Now that I can use my full power again, maybe you can fight me for real? You did say you would down the road.” Tarch swung the training sword a few times. He then realized that he was technically holding a handicap in his hands right now. “Err not right away! If you don’t want to. It’s not like I could take you on with a sword. Maybe after we practice?” Just as he finished speaking, the sword shattered in his grip.
Horrified, Tarch looked to his swordplay teacher. “I am so sorry! Jeez, I keep making a mess! Lemme find one that won’t break!” He tried another one, only to have it melt. Then another, which sort of cracked just from his super saiyan presence. He did find one that stayed intact, but it was way too big for him. Finally, he gave up. “Uhh. Maybe you can pick one for me before I accidentally wreck your gym?” His face was burning cherry red. He was making an absolute fool of himself. “Gee, and here I thought I was getting the hang of super saiyan,” he mumbled in embarrassment.

Kayen gave Tarch a blank look as he ‘blessed’ her not entirely certain at first if he was making a joke or literally had assumed her saying ‘Katchin’ had been a sneeze, it seemed though to be misunderstanding rather than a very dumb joke and not long after came the inevitable flood of questions. Kayen could shine some light on some of them but Barb would probably be better equipped for a more broad answer to his questions “No, the armor we use is, as far as I understand it, made of some sort of exceptionally high grade material that was developed ages ago, it isn’t like Katchin where it resists harm by just being insanely tough, it’s more like the armor can warp itself AROUND harm sort of like how it stretches, Barb understand it better since she’s been studying the stuff to gain a better grasp of it, the gym is made of metal, pretty sure its an alloy of several really tough and light metals from around the galaxy, the exacts on that are also better left for Barb, it might be my ship but shes the tech expert” Kayen said with a smirk, the ship had been built a long time ago, upgraded in a patchwork manner from other ships she had conquered with Raiti’s finest mechanics put to the job of making sure it was the toughest thing in space, the exacts were a bit beyond what Kayen bothered to understand though. Kayen paid no mind to Tarch’s attempt to seemingly ‘test’ the gym as his blast did no lasting damage, it would take a bit more even from him to start properly breaking down the gyms armor, Kayen WOULD have to keep an eye out in the future though if the boy decided to do it again, too many ‘tests’ COULD cause damage. “I’d be willing, but we should probably work on that control issue of yours, a fight might help with that but I’d wager that a fight where you DONT have complete control of your output and I do won’t go well for you no matter how far you’ve come. A fight where you DO have complete control again… that would be interesting” Kayen said with a smirk, a bit of encouragement for the boy as her tone made it clear that she saw Tarch as a credible opponent. Then came his attempt to choose a weapon and… Kayen was amazed with just how bad the situation was with his power output, she was frankly amazed that with those sort of results that he hadn’t already started damaging the ship just by standing there, perhaps though that was the key, Tarch’s power seemed to only flow where he expected it to NEED to be, wielding a weapon was something that needed his strength and thus he subconsciously was letting his power flow into the blade, and subsequently destroying it. Walking however was not something that ‘needed’ power, and so the world around Tarch was not being torn apart by his mere existence. Kayen mulled it all over for a few moments before making a decision. “Catch” Kayen said tossing Fateburn to Tarch, the throw was very specific so that the back of the blade was the only part that could hit the boy if he failed to catch it properly. Fateburn was almost certainly NOT an ideal weapon for the boy but it was also the one weapon Kayen knew he could not destroy, even if he was actively TRYING to. “I don’t ordinarily let anyone use Fateburn but your situation is unique, and I suppose it’ll confirm if you should be working with a bigger blade in the future” It also reminded Kayen just a little bit of when her training had stepped up, her mother had given her one lesson with the massive cleaver, a treat to let her give it a try. That had probably been her mother's greatest mistake.
