NAME: Amara (Pun: Amaranth)
ALIASES: Silver Maiden
SPECIES: Saiyan
AGE: Forty-Four
GENDER: Female
STARTING PLANET: Earth
APPEARANCE:

Amara is a battle-scarred Saiyan Woman, with a muscular frame the scars to prove it. As most Saiyans do, she sports black hair and a matching tail, though the style of her hair is a bit odd - more subdued and wavy in contrast to the spiky, stiff hair most of her kin have. A long, slightly faded scar runs across the bridge of her nose - a few smaller patches dotting parts of her face.
Her outfit, being a mercenary and not an actual 'solider', is different from the typical Saiyan warrior. She wears a black under-cloth that runs from her ankles to her wrists and neck in a one-piece fashion which can be seen underneath some of her exterior armor. The top of her chest is covered by the standard 'galactic aegis' armor in a black/white/silvery-gray color scheme, minus the shoulder pads.
Bits of slivery metallic armor are strapped on in places like her elbows, kneecaps, lower torso (sort of an extension from the upper armor), forearms, and shins. Over that is a few misc. details such as a belt with some pouches and other gadgets, and a holster on her right thigh which holds a blaster. The final part of the outfit would be a pair of white boots which taper into a black point.
BACKGROUND: Saiyans have always been known for being a society that praised power and poise first and foremost - and Amara was a shining example. A 'gem' of a child born to a lower class pair of warriors, her Power Level was extraordinary from the start. This was valuable in an age when Power Level was everything and brought immediate status to her family. Amara was treated more like a trophy rather than a child and was neglected for the early part of her life. Drunk, both physically and metaphorically, off the prestige, their child brought in, Amara's parents were quick to enroll her at a private 'military training' institute.
It was then she got the relief of being free from her parent's idiotic and insensitive clutches, only to fall into a harsh 'work till you faint' training regime. Though it wasn't exactly pleasant, she far preferred it to spend time with her incompetent 'guardians', and it was where she could violently release stress and anger and get rewarded for it. A prodigy, she quickly became the academy's best despite her young age - destined to take the role of an officer when she graduated in the coming years. Teenage Amara, however, found the prospect of working for a structured military to be boring. She absconded a week before graduation, stealing a space pod and traveling far off-planet to the Space Station Knutts.
The crime-infested rock was where she met 'Silver Lightning', a group of outlaws, mercenaries, and hitmen who only accepted the strong into their ranks. Amara, as per Saiyan tradition, challenged their leader immediately to a duel... and lost. Considering she did much, much better than most people who would fight Captain Cellerus - she was offered a spot among their ranks. Her next seven years were spent in the group, touring the galaxy and fighting numerous foes. Members came and went, but Amara slowly but surely climbed the ranks to second-in-command - also earning the nickname 'Silver Maiden' for her unwavering bravery and battle prowess.
It was around this time that Endiver, the leader of the renowned mercenary group 'Crimson Apes', approached her with an offer. They, being two extremely powerful warriors, would bear a pure-blood Saiyan child together. She would work with him to become the most powerful group in the known galaxy and raise a child even more powerful than the both of them to take their place in the decades to come. Of course, the offer of making Silver Lightning a sub-branch but with full autonomy, money, and prestige all helped to entice her. She hadn't failed at anything yet! How hard could raising a kid be? Amara was twenty when Scallio was born to the pair of them.
Of course, bearing a child not out of love but power craze was not a very stable way to ensure a stable family dynamic. Amara had failed to realize just how cruel and dismissive Endive could be, and they butted heads so often that entire nights could pass with the two of them arguing until their throats were raw. The first few years of raising Scallio had changed her, too. Softened the once impulsive, angry drinker into a person who could recognize where all this was leading. The fact that the tiny Saiyan had an abysmal Power Level and had shown no signs of improving didn't help the situation either.
It was then that a realization dawned on her. Between her own bouts of irrational behavior, bad habits, Endive's worsening attitude when around her, and a crushing feeling of being out of her league for the first time in years... she left. Just like she had done before, Amara quietly packed what was hers and abandoned both the Crimson Apes and Scallio. She could not care for him herself, and couldn't save him from his uncertain fate at the hands of Endive... so the best choice for the child was her absence. He would probably come to resent her. Despise her. She... accepted this. It was for him.
A part of her always regretted this decision, and Amara - despite her better judgment - kept tabs on the boy and the Crimson Apes as both grew. When Scallio became the group's leader with his father's corpse as proof, she could not be prouder. He WOULD grow to become better than both of them. Even... even if she couldn't be there to share in his growth with him.

Lightning Strike [MA3]: Covering her entire body with unstable yellow energy, Amara rushes towards an enemy to attack them at full power, doing 100% of her PL
(8k Slot) Afterimage [SU1]: Amara gains a huge burst of speed, moving fast enough to leave afterimages of herself in her wake. This allows her to fully dodge attacks under 100% of her PL
