After being defeated by the saiyan Oleebo at the South City local tournament, Maki had hoped to speak with the fighter further. The teen was looking for someone who could train him and expand is current knowledge of energy. Even though he had lost, this saiyan seemed like he might do the trick, make a proper teacher that was. The earthling had waited until after the awards ceremony to speak with Oleebo, and would eventually get his chance. "Hey, that was a nice match. We should do that again some time. In fact, if you would be willing I could use some pointers an--" The saiyan would spit on the ground beneath him, plainly stating "We're in a whole different league runt. You may have gotten lucky with a few strikes, but that pathetic style of yours will only take you so far..." Maki didn't know how to respond as his former opponent walked away and flew off into the sunset. He had been rejected by the one he though was his only hope of achieving true strength. The next day Maki would have to contemplate the reality that not having a teacher would bring. Without someone to train him, he would never be able to take revenge on the beings who killed his uncle. He would never be able to excel at fighting. Worst of all, he would fail to reintroduce the importance of grappling to the martial arts world. These were his greatest fears, and they were slowly becoming true. After school the teen would do what he always did and go to his local gym. Lifting weights tended to clear his head, even if doing so was a trivial task at times. The South Side Gym was home to various body builders and martial artists across the city, but none of them possessed the kind of strength he was after. None could wield ki as his uncle once did, and few knew the ancient art of Mauy Thai. Those who did were no masters, and some would even scoff at the martial art compared to Kung Fu. This would be the sad reality he faced. Leaving the gym in his school's PE uniform, Maki wouldn't have the smile on his face he once did. This moment of self-pity would be interrupted by a loud sound. It sounded as if a meteorite was about to crash into the city! A few more moments would reveal a saiyan space pod flying through the air, and making it's way west across the city's skyline! The grappler would jump upwards, flying into the air to get a better glimpse of the ship. It was a pod alright, but it appeared to be damaged... That seemed odd. "What the? Well I guess you don't see that everyday..."(The Pod Crash Site) Just a few miles due west of South City, the damaged pod would crash into the earth. A large crater would form as usual, but the object remained intact. Inside of the pod was a vicious saiyan criminal. They called him Hobar, the terrible, for his crimes against the saiyan race. The man had been on the run from planet Vegeta's military for years, but it seemed like someone was finally starting to catch up to him. The man would frantically try to repair his ship. "Ah, damn this piece of junk! I've got a bounty hunter or mercenary or something on my tail, and now it doesn't want to start!?"Maki's PL: 1,000

"Piece of shit." Amara grumbled, whacking the scouter a few times with her palm to fix the glitch that had occurred on the interface. The precious distraction had allowed the target to escape, and with even a damaged spacepod, the search radius grew by the second. Hobar, or whatever his name was, had a good chance of outright fleeing persecution once more if she couldn't get a lead to where he was going. Amara may not be affiliated with the Saiyan Kingdom anymore, but an open contract posted by the authorities offered a hefty sum for his capture.
The scouter's screen finally corrected itself, Amara thinking of how to approach the situation next. Last she had seen, they had been cresting the horizon over South City before she lost the signal, so it was very likely that one of the airheaded denizens spotted the other Spacepod flying overhead. Making a split-second decision, Amara moved to land her own craft - hoping to gain a lead through asking around in which direction the damaged pod went. The best (and closest) place to ask would be the business district, the skies surrounding it unobstructed by the tall skyscrapers and capsule buildings near downtown. With finesse, Amara's pod opened mid-flight, the Saiyan bailing out and plummeting to the Earth below - cracking the stone below with her landing. Her pod continued to orbit, set into autopilot mode for the time being.
A few Earthlings were milling about, most of them startled by her sudden appearance - glancing at her wearily as they tried to figure out what exactly the Saiyan was doing. Ignoring them, she scanned the surrounding area for any Power Level above insignificant. The chances that someone with a decent power having either a scouter or the energy-sensing technique was high. Frustratingly, none of the people around seemed to have anything above a few hundred... that was until she found something. A reading of one thousand. Miniscule comparatively speaking, but possibly worth looking into.
"You there." She called out, marching over the source and flipping back the scouter lense. It appeared to be a male, somewhere in the 'teenage' stages of human aging. "I'm looking for a damaged spacepod, it should've flown over the city. Do you know where it went?"

As the pod left the young man's line of sight, he would return to the ground below. Seeing a saiyan pod shooting across the sky was certainly uncommon, but nothing too alarming. In fact, maybe he should chase after the pod. If there was a saiyan piloting it, they would certainly be stronger than most humans. Perhaps the alien would even be strong enough to train him. Then again, the last time he asked a saiyan for help didn't turn out so well. Still, he couldn't deny their prowess, it would be worth looking into at least. "Suppose I don't have anything better to do" He would mutter, beginning to walk in the pod's direction. The grappler wouldn't get too far before a question would be possed. He heard a woman's voice from the sky above, asking about what he had just seen. Maki would look up to see that she too was a saiyan. The woman was even wearing signature body armor. Though Maki would usually give away trivial information without a second thought, he needed something in return today. The young man would fly back into the sky, trying to meet Amara face to face. Though he couldn't sense what powers she possessed, he could easily tell that she was a veteren based on her physical appearance alone. That was all he needed to see before speaking, "A pod huh? Yeah I know where It went. I'd be willing to tell you in exchange for something..."
The earthling would take off the backpack he was wearing, tossing it to the ground. "You saiyans are some of the best fighters in the galaxy. Most of your kind are stronger than me, but I plan on changing that. Long story short, I'll tell you what you want to know, if you're willing to fight for it." Maki would crack his knuckles. Even if he'd loose this fight, he would be able to learn from it. If this woman was even willing to fight that was. Then there was the question of energy, if she was capable of firing energy attacks, he might be in serious trouble. Though it was his goal to better understand energy, fighting against it would lead to a swift defeat. "So, what do you say?"Amara

Ah. An exchange - nothing that Amara wasn't used to. She had been about to reach into her pod to grab a stack of Zeni, but the boy continued, asking for something completely unexpected. He wanted a fight? The Saiyan was tempted to say no and ask somebody else, but she had a feeling that he was one of the few people who actually saw the pod's passing. An actual spar would take far too long, yet blasting him immediately with one of her techniques could actually injure the guy, and by the holy Kais of space politics, she didn't want to get muddled up in some sort of trouble with Earth's defenders.
Amara gave a scowl "Fine. But it'll be quick - every second I'm not out there they get further and further away." Picking the roof of the nearby gym, the Saiyan landed on it and tossed her blaster to the side. "Hit me with your best shot. And I mean your best move - don't hold back." She tapped the scouter still attached to her head. "Trust me. Unless you've been suppressing your power I don't think you can really hurt me."
The Saiyan's aura flared to life, the electric-like golden Ki crackling as it raced across her body. "After that, I'll give you a taste of one of my own techniques." Either he couldn't actually sense energy or was simply a suicidal idiot. Amara would indulge this whim regardless, impatient to move on with her manhunt and claim the bounty. She should probably refrain from even using Plasmic Shock, that one move alone was nearly ten times his entire Power Level. Even if the human could transform, she had never known one with a powerful transformation.

Well, that was easier than expected. The woman took him up on the challenge, and even picked a spot for their quick bout. The roof of the gym would be a fairly flat surface, and would make a good battle ground. Truth be told, he didn't exactly have a spot in mind himself, so it saved some time. The earthling would make his way down, landing a few yards away from the woman. She looked ready for a fight, and even asked him to make the first move. An all out attack would be his best shot to get the upper hand, so her wish was his command. "Alright, but just remember, you asked for it!"
Maki would enter a grappling stance, and then begin to focus his energy. Allowing ki to flow through his entire body, the teenager would dart directly at Amara. As he entered melee range, two additional arms would materialize under his original two. He would first attempt to interlock two arms behind the woman's head, setting up a basic Mauy Thai clinch. If that was successful, he would begin throwing ki enhanced knees and elbows towards her stomach. The earthling wasn't sure how effective the attack would be against her, but he had no stronger technique.
The situation was slowly becoming similar to his last fight against a saiyan, one he lost. Even when he though he had the upper hand, he would be beaten by raw power. If the situations were parallel, then he would surly loose again. Deciding to put the past behind him, he would continue throwing attacks. Eventually, he would tire out, and jump back a few feet. The teen was unaware if he actually managed to strike his opponent or not, but at least he put up an effort of sorts... "So...How about that?"

True to her word, Amara let Maki come at her with everything he had. She noted his style of fighting, one which was fas less common among the interstellar warriors one usually encountered. Of course, decades of experience meant she was at least vaguely familiar with it and knew partially what would be coming next. One style of grappling was only so different from another, after all. She let him completely go at it, body barely budging or reacting to the grab and attacks. Maki might end up noticing attacking her felt more akin to slamming his limbs into a brick wall, once the initial rush of battle wore off.
He finally stopped, retreating a bit to assess the damage... of which there was little. Only a slight scuff on her cheek remained as evidence that she had even been attacked in the first place. Amara rolled her shoulders, nodding a bit. "Better than I thought you'd be capable of." Her Ki crackled, coalescing around her arms and fists. "My turn. Feel free to dodge, if you want." As soon as she spoke the words, Amara would suddenly appear behind Maki - a shimmering afterimage of herself still to his front as the Saiyan reared back a fist.
If he noticed and managed to deduce where she was going, he'd then have to contend with a straight jab to his chest at incredibly high speeds. As she was holding back, getting hit would probably wind the boy and send him flying a bit rather than do actual damage. Afterward, regardless of if it hit or not, she'd follow up with a Ki-infused flick - the sound of a mini lightning strike cracking out as it sent a small wave of energy towards him.

His barrage had ended, and the pain would soon set in. It wouldn't take long to realize that his own elbows and knees were bleeding from impacting the woman's skin. That mean she was much stronger than the saiyan he faced before, leagues stronger in fact. He hadn't expected a victory, but wasn't prepared for what would come next. Maki crossed his arms to brace for his opponent's counter attack. He would keep his eyes trained on her, and do his best to anticipate her course of action. That was the plan, but she didn't seem to be moving. After a second or so, he would ask "Hey are you going to attack or--"
His question would be cut off as Amara's afterimage dashed forward and faded! Suddenly, he would find a fist implanted in his back, causing him to be launched several feet forward. After would be the sound of a light thunderclap, and a strange beam of energy colliding with his body. maki would find himself on the ground with a large amount of smoke coming off his body from the flick. The woman was hardly breaking a sweat, and he was struggling to stand at this point. The power difference was something incredible, something he would envy to a degree.
Standing up from the ground, the grappler would dust himself off. His didn't have the stamina for another big attack, so resorting to a few basic strikes would probably be his best option. Taking a deep breath, he would begin running directly at her. Once in range he would try to lunge at her with an elbow strike, and then follow up with a quick flurry of jabs. It was simple, but all he could must for the time. At this point, he would just be trying to impress the woman. He needed a trainer, and a saiyan wouldn't likely train an earthling unless they proved themselves. "You're pretty good, in fact, stronger than any I've faced before."

Amara frowned a bit, spotting the traces of blood on Maki's form. And that wasn't even from hitting the guy - that was from him hitting her. Then, it was followed up by her restrained attacks, which both hit and hurt enough for Maki to be visibly straining as he got back up. She had considered calling it off out of concern for his wellbeing, but the Earthling kept on. Persistent and determined, if nothing else. Amara begrudgingly didn't stop him, a bit curious to see how far he would go. Instead of letting him simply bash is head into a wall, though, the Saiyan took a different approach.
Maki attempted a few attacks, far weaker than the one he had done previously. Amara simply started to dodge each strike, hand occasionally reaching out to literally push his blows away. The human wouldn't meet any resistance as it would feel like he was literally punching the air. Casually, Amara responded during the rush - hardly losing any speed. "I do suppose there wouldn't be many of my caliber or higher hanging around normal human training grounds." Honestly, he wasn't all that bad compared to some of the other nobodies around. "Your form is solid." She commented, suddenly snapping out to try and grab his arm.
If she was successful, the Saiyan would casually throw the boy overhead to disengage him from this assault attempt. If he managed to dodge or break free, she'd aim for a kick to his chest instead with just enough force for him to feel it. Rolling her shoulders, Amara would breath out a small sigh of dimmed irritation. "Right. You get... one more go. After that, I'll show you an actual attack." A Lightning Strike should suffice. She'd whiff on purpose, of course, for even holding back it'd probably char the human a bit and render him unconscious several times over. Unchecked, it had enough force to vaporize approximately thirty Makis.

Maki would feel a cool breeze as each of his punches flew by. He seemed to miss every strike, outclassed in every way. He would manage to get a compliment from the woman, that was certainly a start, but he would need to go even further beyond for her approval. His power level was still insignificant compared to hers, even though he couldn’t feel it, the gap was very apparent. In the young man’s onslaught, he would become reckless, enough so that the woman had managed to grab his arm!
Without a way to escape, the earthling would find himself being thrown across the roof of the gym. His fall would luckily be broken by an AC unit that was smashed to pieces on impact. Standing up from the rubble that surrounded him, Maki would spit blood from his mouth. “I made a mistake, but I’m ready for anything you can throw at me.” At this declaration, Maki would contemplate whether he was brave or a fool. If he could survive the woman’s best move, then maybe he would prove himself. Then again, what if he didn’t survive... That would be an outcome that he'd choose to ignore.
Deciding to brace for impact early, he would begin to redirect his energy to his forearms. Crossing them in a similar manner as before, he would grit his teeth. Whatever sort of attack was coming, he would be ready. As ready as someone with his power level could be that was. "I hit you with everything I had, now it's your turn."

Amara's fist tightened, aura expanding, jagged edges growing into place as the Saiyan's golden Ki sparked more and more. It was bright enough to even dim the apparent sunlight that surrounded the area, her head tilted down and face in a grimace. "If you insist." She said lowly, attempting to use the situation to gauge Maki's reaction. Of course, she didn't plan to hit him - even when holding back, he'd be blown into next week. It was a good chance to see if he would break and run, try to dodge, or take it head-on. Two of the three immediate responses had merits, the last did not.
The Saiyan shot off without warning, a plume of air billowing from behind her as she reached Maki within the next instant. Twisting her body, Amara appeared to send a fully charged punch straight towards the human's face, her entire body charged with electrical Ki. If he stood his ground, however, Maki would find Amara's fist stopped but a few inches from his head - Ki warping around him to instead send a pillar of golden crackling energy straight into the sky. He wouldn't feel anything more than the slight breeze the force carried behind it and would be otherwise unharmed.
Assuming he didn't flee, Amara would relax, clapping him on the shoulder. "You've got guts. Or you're stupid." Tilting her head, she posed a question: "So what are you training for? Revenge? To become the best? To take over a hidden underground martial arts clan?" Such reasons were fairly commonplace among the squabbles humans had with each other, and she wouldn't really be surprised if he answered in the affirmative to any of them. "Ah, if you're satisfied, I do believe somebody owes me a bit of information."

Further bracing for impact would occur, though he couldn't feel the woman's power, the aura she emitted was an excellent display of it. The winds around them were getting more intense, and the earthling knew he would need to be stronger to survive the impact. Allowing a mysterious power to take over, a white aura would form around Maki's own body. His power level had doubled in preparation for the attack. Now he might survive what came next, and it would come soon. Seeing his opponent lunge forward, the grappler would lift his arms, trying to block the incoming attack. He would grit his teeth harder, expecting the worse, he would feel wind, static, and raw power. He even flinched a bit, but suddenly realized there was no impact. The saiyan had held back, that was strange for their kind. "Wha-- You stopped?" Maki would be left in a bit of shock as she commented on his resistance. The earthling didn't exactly know what to say, but was satisfied with their bout. He would be asked about his vendetta, and giving a response would be only fair. "Well, out of that list, I'd say revenge. My uncle was killed some time ago by a stray energy blast from some miscreant. It's hard to find decent training partners on earth, most are weak or without talent. Saiyans and other visitors like yourself are probably my best option..." Nodding his head in response, the grappler would begin to float into the air. "I can point you in the direction of the pod then." Taking a look to the west, he would faintly see the smoke of the crashed object. In truth, it wasn't that hard to spot in the first place. "So, you're going to think this is real funny... See that smoke trail in the forest a couple miles out? I'm pretty sure that's the crash site..." Giving her some time to take things in, the teenager would eventually decide to ask another question. "I know those pods are used for travel, that means you're looking for someone... I was wondering if I could tag along, it could help with my training...."(The Pod Crash Site)The saiyan would frantically exit his pod, seeing no way to immediately fix it. Hobar would shake his head in anger, knowing he would have to hijack and earthling's ship to escape again. In the distance, the man's scouter would pick up the surge in power. It seemed as though his pursuer was slightly preoccupied, "Well, at least their distracted... Let's see if I can find another way off this rock..."

"Sure I did," Amara said casually, rolling her shoulder as the last dregs of energy vanished. "If I had let that hit you, best case scenario would be a thoroughly fried human, and worst case would result in total body vaporization - down to the ashes you'd produce afterward." Hmm. Perhaps telling him that was not the best of ideas. "But as I said, you stood your ground regardless. Stubborn as Hell, aren't ya?" The Saiyan had assessed him, and the results were impressive. "Didn't even scream like a little girl right before impact." Flicking Maki's shoulder with the lightest force she could muster, Amara nodded in approval.
"Ah, the ol' justice slash vengeance path. A classic. You the type to brood over the 'fine line between serving justice and fulfilling personal vendettas', or are you just looking to punch an Alien for killing your uncle?" She wouldn't really care either way. It wasn't like Amara had room to question or judge the decisions people made when it came to their lives after the trainwreck that was her own. Nodding, the former mercenary hummed in agreement. "Yeah, most of you squishies aren't that tough. There are a few exceptions, but for the most part, you're one of the weakest humanoid species in the entire universe. No offense."
Though, his 'information' simply turned her expression a bit sour. She couldn't exactly blame Maki for 'withholding' knowledge that could've been assessed if she took a minute to look for, but was rightfully peeved nonetheless. "Cheeky." She grumbled, flipping up her scouter's panel to scan the smoke trail. Height, speed, and color could all be used to determine the approximate location, age, and ship the crashed with the right mathematics. "Come along?" Amara said, suddenly realizing the boy was still talking. Glancing up and down her body, the Saiyan squinted.
"You sure about that? With the state your in, it looks like somebody dragged you to Hell and back." His Power Level had doubled, presumably from the white aura he surrounded himself with, but 'doubled' wasn't all that impressive when you only were one thousand, to begin with. "I'm not gonna say no, but I'm not your mom. If you get hurt that's on you." While she wasn't going to go around beating people up, she also wasn't going to really bother saving them from situations they got themselves into in the first place. If the human wanted to tag along, she'd let him.
"Either way, I'm leaving now. Keep up if you want." Hopping back to her Spacepod, it was only a moment later as she began to speed off - leaving Maki to make a split-second decision.

The earthling would laugh in a nervous manner at the two possible outcomes that could have awaited him. If that didn't tell him about their power difference then little else would. Even still, he was grateful for the match. Nodding in agreement about him not screaming, the grappler would simply replay "What kind of fighter would I be if I showed fear? That seems like a requirement for the job if you ask me..."
Next would come a question about his philosophy, was he into justice for justice sake, or was he only after one alien. It was a confusing question to him, while he was very much focused on defeating the member of the Star Goons who killed his uncle, he also cared for his home world. "Well, I don't exactly contemplate the nature of justice and all of that. I mostly fight for the sake of fighting when I'm not looking for murderers. Though I suppose if the earth, or one of it's cities were in danger, then I would step in to help." Looking down at his body, the young man would see multiple marks, scrapes, and bruises. Earthlings really were 'squishy', but that's why he needed her. Maybe this would be a good time to ask a follow up question...
She would simply declare that he was in no shape to fight, even with his advancement in power. The woman was right, obviously. If Maki let her go however, he was unlikely to see her again for some time. The teen couldn't afford that, so he would come along despite insistence otherwise. "In that case, I'd like to see you in action. I'll try not to get in the way too much..."
Maki would dart off into the direction of the crash site, trying his best to keep up with a faster Amara. The prospect of watching this woman defeat a powerful opponent could be a learning experience. The grappler would take as much knowledge he could get at this point. He might even learn how to throw one of those ki blast things!

Amara's face fell into one of concentration as she rapidly encroached upon Hobar's misfortunate ship mishap. Grounding the pod with only a little amount of care, the lid hissed open and the Saiyan within hopped out - scouter scanning the nearby area. He couldn't have gotten terribly far on foot or by flying quite yet, and she was certain that the fugitive would try and hide nearby if he detected her approach. The human from before seemed to have trailed her, not that Amara was surprised. Assuming he'd stick close by instead of wandering off on his off, she'd greet his arrival with a quick nod.
She was in no discernable danger. Even if Hobar somehow went Great Ape, her own base form should still be enough to defeat him - and she did have her own Blutz Generator for backup. It was Maki she was worried about. Hobar could probably do some real damage to the kid in the state he was now, and a criminal usually wasn't one for fighting honorably. If it came down to it, the Earthling would probably be the first target for a sneak attack. "Watch your six." She said sharply. "Target could be anywhere. Doesn't help that the scouter has a harder time picking up weaker signatures."

Maki would eventually end up at the crash site with Amara. Despite what she said earlier, her nod made him feel as if she wanted him there. The only question now was where this convict was hiding. He must be somewhere close by, but giving all the destruction caused by the pod his hiding spot couldn't be that great. The man was likely watching them from the treeline, and an ambush would be more than likely. Given the fact that the grappler couldn't sense energy, discerning the man's location would be nearly impossible. They were in luck, as the woman did happen to have a scouter, but a search like that would take precious time. For the time being, Maki would just lean back against a tree and try to stay out of the way. If two saiyans were about to fight, things would get ugly...
On the opposite end of the treeline a power level of 15,000 would soon appear. With it would come a large flurry of ki blasts headed Amara's direction. Before long, the saiyan would step out to reveal himself. "Damn bounty hunters! Of all the targets in the galaxy, I had to be the one?!" The man had the look of a hardened criminal, and wore a set of damaged saiyan armor. It was what one could expect from a fugitive. Though the power of the man was unreadable to him, the teen would feel the darkness coming off this guy. The way he looked, and talked, it was all very unsettling.
He didn't want to jump in and try to take the man on in his current state, he would likely get in Amara's way. This did remind him why he was looking for a saiyan teacher, they had power unlike any other. Though he couldn't get too involved, he would still be ready to help the woman if she asked for it. "I'll let you handle this, but if you need me, tell me."
