Thread PL: 35,000 | Items: Scouter, Spacepod, Blutz Generator The flight to Yunzabit was uneventful. Ochra has paused for something rather along the way, so Amara had arrived first at the frozen rock. Awaiting his arrival at the southernmost tip, she pondered how to exactly go about this whole situation. She had never actually seen a Super Saiyan up close... nor been privy to how they transformed. Based on Ochra's words, it seemed to just... happen naturally when they were powerful enough. Like a fizzy drink when you shook it - building up foam until you pop the cap off and it makes a mess. She assumed Ochra had been keeping this metaphorical cap on his anger and power to try and suppress the power of the Super Saiyan.
It, in turn, had been corroding away at his self-control and rationale, eager to break free and... exist? She wasn't really sure. Regardless, this place was as good as any to test it. Far away from civilization, lots of rocks, pretty cold... well, mostly just the isolation. If Ochra managed to transform and also go beserk this far out, she was certain that one of Earth's many heroes could be rallied in time to stop him before he hurt others or himself in his outrage. It was a bleak image, but at least the looming threat of randomly transforming would be lifted from the other Saiyan's shoulders.
Now, all she had to do was wait.

She wouldn't have ti wait long, before her scouter would pick up Ochra's sizable power approaching. The saiyan hybrid had managed to pinpoint Amara's location easily enough, and was heading straight for her. As he saw the saiyaness in the distance, quickly closing in, Ochra slowed to a stop, hovering above the Earth for a moment before landing down before her. He took the opportunity to look around. The place seemed rather isolated. It was just him and Amara. Though he had a feeling if he did start flaring his power up, they would end up attracting someone. That was always the case.
Ochra slowly approached Amara, stopping when he was a few feet in front of her. "Well, here we are." Now that they were here, Ochra didn't really have much idea of what they were going to do. It was, well, kind of embarassing really. He felt he should have thought of something before he arrived here. "so, how shall we do this?" Hell, he very rarely had used the Oozaru transformation when he had his tail. How on Earth was he going to trigger Super Saiyan? His mind was trying to think, as he hoped she would have a suggestion in the meantime.
"I'm... not entirely sure," Amara admitted, punting a rock a few hundred meters away and watching as it sank into the icy waters below. "I don't have experience with the whole Super Saiyan thing, obviously." Tail flicking back and forth, an idea came to her. "Maybe Great Ape feels a little similar to it?" She suggested, scratching her chin. "Let me try going Oozaru and seeing if I 'feel' anything when transforming." The former mercenary rarely ever actually went Oozaru nowadays, most threats being handled in base form or far too powerful to combat even with the transformation. She had recently gotten her pod and generator back over the short break the two had taken, so now Amara was fully equipped.
It was hovering somewhere in the northern regions, set to autopilot in case of the need for an escape or a Blutz Wave barrage. Inputting some commands into her scouter, the craft zoomed over to the duo's location, hovering just within sight above them. "While we're on the topic. Did you lose your tail, or never have it?" She knew some hybrids were born tailless - a sad side effect that meant some of them lived even without knowing they were Saiyans to begin with.
Ochra thought for a moment. Perhaps the secret to unlocking Super Saiyan did lie in the Oozaru form. After all, both were part of a Saiyan's biology. The difference really was the intensity, and the level of transformation. Oozaru changed you into a giant ape, while Super Saiyan made you blonde. But they both did indeed involve strong emotions. A Saiyan's Oozaru form was a rampaging beast unless one learned to control it, similar to how a Super Saiyan was. "That might actually be a good idea. Very well, let's give it a shot." He was pretty certain that Amara had a firm control over her Oozaru form. Kind of hard to talk about how you feel when you've lost your mind. That was one thing Amara had over Ochra. Ochra never really learned how to control it.
And then, the inevitable question came up. Ochra's lack of tail. At least she was asking if he even had one to begin with. The bounty hunter gave a small sigh. "I originally had a tail, but I lost it. It was actually on this very planet. The World Trade Fleet was attacking a city, and I rushed in to try and stop them. The next thing I remember, I wake up in a Fleet holding facility, getting ready to be tortured, and my tail's missing." He tried to simply leave it at that. He could remember Aizu on Knutts, wearing his severed tail like a bracelet and mocking him with it. A bristle of anger ran through his body, before he pushed it back down. That wasn't important right now. Though, if he was indeed able to unlock and control the power of a Super Saiyan, he was going to pay the Fleet's Warmaster a long overdue visit.
He looked up at the pod hovering overhead, getting ready to emit the Blutz radiation that would enable her to transform. He decided to give her a little distance for this. After all, she was going to get a lot bigger very quickly.
"Alright, well, here goes nothing." The full blood said, click a button on her scouter to send the proper signal to the circling craft above. A small, disc-like object slid out from the bottom of the ship, angling towards Amara. A pulsating ring of barely visible light pulsed rapidly from the machine, Amara staring up at it and beginning to feel the telltale signs of transformation. Having gone through the process many, many times before - her transition was much calmer and more controlled than one would typically expect. Rooting herself in place, a few veins on her neck and hands began to bulge, Amara grunting from the stress as her body morphed.
Like the typical aegis, the Saiyan had her clothes specially designed to be able to grow with her - save for the pads which she had already removed. The process took only thirty seconds but felt like a near eternity as the Saiyan got bigger and gibber, jet-black fur covering parts of her exposed skin. However, unlike the typical Great Ape, Amara wasn't colossal in size. Training and the confines of space had let her hone the form to be about half the size of a normal Oozaru, though in this form Ochra was still easily dwarfed.
Letting out a roar, Amara shook herself and turned her gaze to Ochra below. The Oozaru knelt, knuckles on the stone. "I haven't gone Great Ape in a while." She grumbled, tone far deeper. Gnashing her teeth together, the transformed Saiyan shifted from side to side. "And have never really used it in a non-combat situation. My instincts are going a bit wild, wondering what we're supposed to be fighting." Yet she seemed in control, simply carrying on the conversation as if she hadn't just turned into a giant ape and quintupled her Power Level. "Did you have any specific questions, or should I just go over it from the start?"

Ochra could feel the gentle pulse of light coming from the pod, though without his tail, all it did was send a small shiver through his frame. He had never really attempted to transform after losing his tail, and he very rarely used it when he was able to. When you worked as a bounty hunter, where collateral damage was something you wanted to avoid, you tended to make sure you didn't transform into a colossal ape and wreck havoc. A part of him wished though that he had appreciated that part of himself a bit more. Maybe it would have helped him with this situation.
As Amara began to transform, Ochra lifted off of the ground, trying to put a little bit more distance between the two of them. He had faith that she could control her transformed state, but you could never be too careful. Already he felt her power rising, easily eclipsing his own. Ochra would be lying if he said he didn't feel a little bit bitter about that. Transformations were really what allowed people to surpass him quite easily. If only he could do something like that himself. Well, that's what all this was for. And hopefully, they would be successful.
As he watched her transform, he was partially grateful that Saiyan armour was able to stretch to accommodate the change in size. That would save some...problems later. He did notice though that even though she grew pretty big in size, she was a lot smaller compared to the average Oozaru. Was she always like that, or was it a form of control over the transformation? That was something he would have to ask. But right now, there were more important things to consider. As the transformation finished, she seemed pretty coherent, though her own admission that her combat instincts were flaring up was a little worrisome. Still, Ochra had faith she could keep herself under control.
"Well, I guess we can just start from the beginning," Ochra responded, thinking for a moment, "I'll admit, I never really much transformed myself. Tried to avoid it if I could. Would have been bad for business otherwise. I did feel the Blutz waves just now, but it didn't really do much to me. I think I can safely say it did a lot more for you." He slowly lifted up until he was eye level with Amara. That way she didn't have to keep bending down to him, and he didn't have to crane his neck to look up at her. That being said, Ochra had to admit there was something quite...humorous about the fact that a regular saiyan was having an every day conversation with an Oozaru. Certainly not a sight you see every day.
"As you might've deduced by now." The Oozaru grumbled, tilting her head a bit. "This is a 'wild' form. Primal power, and whatnot. Brings us closer to our evolutionary ancestors than it does our kin today." Amara scratched her chin in contemplation, nose huffing out a blast of air which quickly steamed up into the chilly sky. "Even after long having mastered the ability to control the form, there still resides a bit of the 'animal' within me. It'd be much more prevalent if I didn't have control... but then I couldn't exactly explain it to you either." She laughed, the sound more akin to rolling thunder than an actual voice.
Judging by Ochra's power when she still could use her scouter and now, Amara would estimate that she was slightly stronger than him. Ironic, considering in his base the other Saiyan easily outclassed her - but with no tail, she somehow managed to get a lead just by transforming. Well, that was unless he went Super Saiyan like was the... plan? Calling it a plan seemed a bit generous for what it was - random testing. She wasn't sure how much Super Saiyan boosted one's Power Level, but the rumors stated it was higher than even multiplying it by ten.
"Let me try to explain..." Amara continued, massive eyebrows furrowing over the pure red blobs her eyes had become. "So, when I transform, it usually helps to just... let go temporarily. Stop constraining yourself to act 'civilized'. Let your desires and anger have free reign. Whether we like it or not, it is within a Saiyan's blood to desire violence." Baring her teeth, Ochra might be able to discern the movement as a scowl. "Obviously, I can reign it in when the transformation is done - but the important thing is that you have to remove your limiter when trying to activate it."
Ochra was more than aware of the strangeness of the situation. Here he was, hovering in the air, having a discussion about evolutionary ancestors with an Oozaru, a collossal ape several times his size and capable of levelling cities. Just the fact that the form allowed for speech just made the whole affair seem more surreal. But right now, Ochra had to do this to try and at least get some insight on what it was like to transform. To have some idea of how he could unleash his own inner power and have a chance of controlling it. And hopefully the answered lied in the Oozaru.
Though her discription of the form as a wild form didn't help matters. The fact that it took an insane amount of emotion just to transform into a Super Saiyan, would logically put the form on a higher scale compared to this wild form. At least with Oozaru, it was triggered by something other than the user's own psyche. Sure, he knew the transformation could be controlled eventually, but at first, one turns into a hyper powerful embodiment of rage, and that was not a good thing for anyone.
Her description of the transformation, well, didn't help too much. Just let go. That was easier said than done. Ochra let out a small sigh. "Well, there's two problems with that. One is that I'm also half human. I guess that might explain why I'm a bit more chill compared to my fellow Saiyans." It made some sense. It was also why he could never grow back his tail after he had lost it. After all, humans didn't have any tails, so losing one wasn't much of an issue. "The second is that, well, my limiter's been one I've been building up my entire life. I've been having to keep myself in check for years, trying to control my anger, making sure I don't lose it while I'm on the job. Over the years, it's become an automatic reflex. Sure, I get angry, but never enough to where I stop thinking clearly. And now, it's that very same coping mechanism that's keeping me from letting this all out, and has put me in this situation."
He gave another sigh, trying to think. Just how was he going to let it all out. Just let go without losing himself entirely. It was not a pleasant situation to be in.
"I suppose its easier said than done..." She said, scratching her head. "Sorry. I guess it just seems clear to me? Obviously, that's because I've already entered this form before, and we're dealing with something very new to both of us." It was a bit maddening, trying to piece together how exactly blonde hair blue eyes mode actually worked. If it was part of Saiyan natural biology, surely Great Ape must have at least some parallels to it? And then came the reveal that Ochra was actually a hybrid, which complicated things even more. "Yeah, that might muck it up. Humans are pretty domesticated, all things considered."
"As much as I hate to say it..." The Oozaru started, accidentally stepping on and flattening a boulder. "Have you tried to... meet other Super Saiyans? I know a few exist. Who they are and how many are a mystery, but surely you must have some contact with the Saiyan kingdom? I heard the Queen and a close friend of hers both have the form and use it without issue." Ochra's conundrum was a bit confusing, though, now that she thought about. "If it really was your human part holding you back, then why would that result in your transformation being even more full of rage?"
Fullblood Saiyans apparently had an easier time transforming, which made sense. Though if it was a human's calm tendencies that were restraining Ochra, surely those same tendencies would protect him from going on a rampage? "Ugh. This is confusing and even harder to wrap my head around when I'm like this." Amara let herself fall out of Oozaru, shrinking back down to her normal size while her generator had longed ceased the production of Blutz Waves. Besides being a bit frazzled, Amara looked the same.

Ochra nodded. "Indeed we are. I mean, I've seen the transformation, but it's always been after the fact, once they've already crossed the threshold, and have a good deal of control over it." She seemed to agree in some degree that his human side was keeping him back, though he felt he had to correct her on something. "I don't know. I've heard some humans can even surpass Saiyans in terms of ferocity." Really, it just wasn't in humanity's nature to be violent and angry. That didn't mean they weren't capable of it at all.
And then came the suggestion of speaking to other Super Saiyans. Indeed, Ochra knew of three of them. Kayen, Vocado, and Nashua. "I know of them, yes. Though I'll say this right now, the queen and I aren't exactly on good terms." Mainly because she is an insufferable bitch and a pirate on top of that. But he wasn't going to say that in front of her. "The other two are a bit more agreeable, but I have no idea where they are. They always seem to be off doing something. A bit irritating actually." He could just imagine their responses anyway. Just get angry. Yes, because it was always that frikken simple for some people. A wave of anger went through Ochra's body at the thought. Things just came so easily to other people, didn't they? They could just get a power boost like that. Meanwhile, no matter what he did, it ended in total failure. It was just so frustrating! A low growl escaped his body as energy just crackled off of his body, only for a brief moment though before his mental reflexes kicked in and reigned himself in.
He let out a sigh to try and calm himself. At the same time, Amara was changing back to her original form. Ochra slowly lowered himself to the ground, standing before her. "Sorry about that. I do appreciate you trying to help me though." He didn't want to waste her time. But he was still lost on how to handle all of this. Simply getting angry didn't seem to be enough, but then, what would be?
"Really?" Amara asked dubiously. She hadn't met a human yet with a nasty bone in their body. Hell, the toughest she met was somewhere around twenty-thousand Power Level and was a pretty... solid guy. Obviously, not all of them were friend-worthy, but she had honestly thought that the species as a whole was just kinda... passive. "Noted." She said. There wasn't any reason to distrust Ochra, so she'd tuck the information away somewhere for later use. "Yeah, that's the annoying part. Pretty much all Super Saiyans have been at that level of power for a while now. Unless there were a few more awakenings across the universe, I doubt there's any more 'newer' or crossing the threshold Saiyans."
"Oh, you aren't?" Most Saiyans she'd run into had at least a connection to the Saiyan Kingdom in a positive manner (see: the Crimson Apes), so Ochra openly admitting to having a rift between himself and the Saiyan monarch was interesting. He didn't say why, but having the divide there in the first place spoke volumes on its own. "Other two, huh?" As she had said before, Amara had only heard rumors of two - and one of them being the Queen which had already been mentioned. "I actually met a Super Saiyan on Earth. He was... a teenager. With casual access to the form. And was raiding a Hetap factory with a bug thing."
"Don't worry about it." The Saiyan dismissed, waving a hand. "S' not like I have much better to be doing right now anyway. Honestly, though, it seems we are kind of stuck. I hate to admit it, but with no headway made after these tests..." Amara didn't want to just admit defeat, but there was little else they could do. "I mean unless a god-like being descended from the sky and starting trying to destroy the planet from this location, I doubt we'll get much more from this." She joked dryly.
Ochra raised a curious eyebrow when she mentioned encountering a fourth Super Saiyan. Well, guess it was only a matter of time. After all, there were plenty of Saiyans running around, and many of them growing in strength quite quickly. Though her description of the saiyan in question was curious. A teenager, raiding a Hetap factory with some sort of bug creature. His mind immediately went to the insectoid he had encountered on Namek. Could it be the same one? Thinking on that though, his mind started to think to another strong Saiyan he had encountered on Namek. "Tell me, this Super Saiyan wouldn't be named Tarch, would it?" Really, it wouldn't surprise him. Both times Ochra had encountered the youth, he had shown considerable strength. He could only hope that the boy was using his new power wisely.
Though at the moment, it seemed like they were stuck. There didn't seem to be any secret to the transformation that Ochra was already aware of. Just let go. He gave a small sigh. Perhaps if something big did attack the Earth, it might be the trigger he needed. But what were the odds of that happening? Only fools would attack Earth. "Funny how fate works. For the first time in my life, I find myself WANTING something to happen." It really was conflicting. On one hand, it would help trigger this thing. On the other hand, it put countless innocents in danger. This whole thing was just so frustrating. "Well, I can only hope that if you ever come to this, you have an easier time than I do." Honestly, she seemed more better put together than Ochra was right now.
The bounty hunter moved over to a rock and sat down. He would have to have a long think about this. Then, an idea occurred to him. "Perhaps a sparring match might help? Something to help me cut loose." He doubted it would be enough to get him to transform, but it was a start.
"Huh?" Amara said, taken slightly aback. "Oh. Yeah, he was. Tarch and... Chromo I believe was the duo's names." The Saiyan squinted, a realization crossing her mind. "You've met him too? For the amount of Super Saiyans you meet, it is quite unfortunate that none of them have been able to help you. Tarch seemed to be in... well, perfect control honestly. He acted the same with or without the form on, and it even felt calmer than I had expected." Though she herself didn't necessarily care who had Super Saiyan or how well they could control it (outside of Ochra at this point), it was possibly a sore spot for the aforementioned half-Saiyan.
A teenager having mastery over the form while he was struggling to contain it probably didn't do well for his pride, so Amara elected to try and move the conversation in a different direction. "Hah, bold of you to assume I'll ever even get there." She said, half-jokingly. "The amount of power you need to even begin to have a chance of going Super Saiyan is astronomical, and if I haven't gotten close throughout my life..." She shrugged. "Well, all I'm saying is that I don't expect anything extraordinary to happen to me."
"Sparring?" Amara said, considering the offer. "Well, with the Power Level you're at, I'd have to go Great Ape again to actually even the playing field." She rolled her shoulders, giving a slight frown. "It's not comfortable to transform and untransform in rapid succession, but I'll give it a go." Giving the signal, her ship once again began to blast Blutz Waves towards the former mercenary, Amara staring up at the machine it went to work. "You probably still have tricks over me, given you're quite a bit more powerful at base, so even if I'm slightly more powerful, wish me luck." Cracking a smile, Amara once again began to transform.

Ochra would have expected the youth to be able to transform into a Super Saiyan, so it really wasn't that big of a blow to his pride. The boy had potential after all, and he was happy for him. Now, if it was someone completely undeserving, than that would be a different story. "Well, it gives me some hope anyway. If I can at least get past the first transformation, then there was hope he could possibly control it. And then, perhaps he could finally start making a difference in the galaxy. "To be honest, I never really asked. I hadn't thought about it before all of this started happening. Hindsight's twenty twenty I supposed."
At her own modest opinion about anything extraordinary happening to her, Ochra shook his head. "Don't sell yourself short. A lot of extraordinary things have been happening as of late. Really, anything can happen. I'd say you have a pretty good chance." He could just imagine it now. He had a feeling that if she did gain the power of a Ssj, she'd have a pretty good control over it.
Ochra nodded at her suggestion to go Oozaru in order to even things up. Indeed, it would add a bit more weigh to the match. He floated back, watching her as she began to transform once again. Her power climbed, easily passing his own. Indeed, this would be a tough fight between them. He slipped into a combat stance, waiting for her to complete her transformation. He wasn't sure if he agreed with her in regards to tricks. Sure, he might have more techniques, but they both were quite experienced in combat. Indeed, this would be a hard fight for him.
"Well, without further adu, let's begin, shall we?" Ochra suddenly shot forward, moving towards one of Amara's legs and swinging out to deliver a kick, hoping to potentially throw her off balance.
Perhaps Ochra's plan of attack would've been more effective if she was a larger Oozaru - or had opted to stand on only her hindlegs. As it was, Amara simply leaned forward onto her knuckles for support, the kick stinging and shifting her back leg slightly but otherwise allowing the Great Ape to stay balanced. Amara shifted, one arm rushing down towards the half-Saiyan with an open palm. Trying to hit smaller and agile targets with a closed fist could prove a bit tricky, so simply slapping them around with pure size was the best plan she had until she learned how to combat Ochra's fighting style.
If the move connected, she'd continue pushing downwards until she hit the stone below - crashing into it with a tremendous amount of force. Were Ochra to dodge, however, she'd instead curve the arc of her arm to bring it close to her body to recover her full stance, jaw opening to allow a crackling beam of golden Ki to coalesce and shoot out.
Neither of the two had used any hard-commital attacks yet, and Amara could only assume they were both scoping each other out with the intent of exploiting weakness. As an Oozaru against a foe with a similar level of power, the size gap was both an asset and a flaw.
