Scallio double-checked to see if he'd bought everything he needed for today. It wasn't a large list of things but a small assortment of gear needed for camping. Two sleeping bags, a tent, food rations, and a hunting knife. "That looks like everything." he said, looking down at the supplies and scratching at the scar on his cheek. "Now it's just a matter of waiting." he glanced up and down the rocky path that led to his chosen campsite.
An isolated and tucked away clearing on Mt. Paozu. It was a difficult location to find even if you knew where it was. Which wasn't going to help Nyaku get there any faster with Scallio's camping partner, Kabe. Scallio had taken on the duty of caring for the Queen's adopted son for the day. Something he was and still is skeptical about doing it. Scallio had, in fact, almost refused when Nyaku had asked him to watch Kabe.
Not because he disliked or thought poorly of the child. Scallio had actually found Kabe quite likable the few times he'd dealt with him. The mercenary simply didn't feel like he was in the best state of mind right now. He could tell that Nyaku could use a break from the young Prince, however. Besides, there was also a chance that spending time with Kabe could offer some much-needed clarity. Something that Scallio was in desperate need of at the moment.
Scallio cracked his knuckles and took a breath before tightening his hands into fists. "Let's make this easier on them." the Saiyan's power quickly began to rise as he charged his ki. His orange aura swayed wildly against the stirring wind. If they were having trouble finding the place surely they'd be able to do so now. - OOC★ dandy ♫

PL: 12,000 Kabe blinked himself into the waking hours of the day, the coverless sun beating into his eyes. The cool rush wind was ceaseless, and it dawned on him that he was several thousand feet in the air. "huugh...?" A semi-conscious groan was all the princeling could conjure, as the orange neck of the figure he was strapped to slung down to draw the pirate's eyes onto the child. "I ssee ssomebody dessided ta join uss? We're nearly there kid, sso don't fall back ta ssleep on me."Kabe rubbed at his eyes and tried to stay more awake, but without the protection of Nyaku's aura that the speed-racing nitran enjoyed, it was an enviable thought at most for Kabe to keep his eyes open more than a squint. "Oh!" Kabe shouted, the early budding thoughts of consciousness bringing back to his attention just where he was going. Scallio! Nyaku had decided to take Kabe down to see Scallio for the day, which he would not refuse because Scallio was one of his mom's coolest underlings! While Kabe built his excitement, Nyaku couldn't wait to go get a few drinks and maybe see if earth's bars had any women desperate enough to pick up a guy with half a face. Muttering under his breath, he clicked at his scouter to message Scallio for direction. "Where the fuck iss thiss guy..." He groaned, clicking the button to find messaging. As he did, a powerful energy signature spiked in the sensors that drew the pirates attention. For a moment, he grew concerned. He was confident he could outrace anyone on this measly planet, but, he wasn't sure he could outrun raw ki if whatever the power was fired pot shots at the floating blot in the sky. Narrowing in on the power, the scouter blipped for a moment, Kabe mockingly mimicking the bleeping sound with glee. 64,000. That matched Scallio's known power, at least known to Nyaku. If he was wrong the queen would probably flay him alive, but... what the heck. He could probably run from something like that. Trailing in, he spied an orange light and moved toward it, barely making Scallio out in it's heart from above. "Yeah, that'ss that guy." He noted to himself, racing in and skidding to a halt in the dirt. Snapping to a halt ahead of him, Kabe clacked out of Nyaku's grip and dusted himself off as he got his bearings. Nyaku looked to Scallio, like he needed to say something important. "Lissten, Sscallio. Keep an eye out if ssome 'Cranberry' guy comess around. Don't bother asskin' the kid about him- he doessn't get it. Other than th-" Over the top of Nyaku's slithering tones, a voice like a yelp cut through the wind and pierced his ears. "Scallio!" Kabe shouted, running closer and waving his little hand in greeting. A wide grin was plastered on his little face. "He'ss all yours, bucko. Adioss." Nyaku waved, before shooting off into the skyline and vanishing behind a cloud without a single word. KP: 3/3 - Scallio

It was only a few short minutes after he'd begun pumping out his energy that his guests arrived. The exact moment of their arrival had taken Scallio by surprise, however. His body tensing instinctively as Nyaku slid passed him and came to a stop. He was quick to relax once he'd confirmed who it was. You'd have to be pretty bad with faces to not recognize Nyaku's given, well, it's less than pleasant condition. "Took you long enough." Scallio said as he stepped forward and moved his attention from Nyaku to the prince.
The boy looked as though he'd grown since Scallio had last seen him aboard Kayen's ship. Scallio had been slightly concerned about Kabe keeping up with him today. Still a bit too early to tell if that would be the case or not but at least now Scallio wasn't as concerned. "Huh?" he said, focusing back in on Nyaku as he'd said his name. Judging by the look on his face and the fact he'd started his sentence with, 'listen' of all things, he must have had something important to say.
"No problem, we're at a pretty remote place though. So I doubt this Cranberry guy will even show." not that Scallio was concerned. He was more than confident in his ability to keep the young prince safe from harm. Nyaku had made Scallio curious about who this Cranberry was and what he wanted with the prince. Not that he'd get a chance to ask Nyaku any question. "Sure, go ahead and leave, it's not like I had any questions." Scallio sighed and shook his head followed by pinching the bridge of his nose. Better to just focus on the task at hand, no point in worrying about unseen and unlikely threats.
With that in mind, Scallio focused his attention on the plans he'd made for today. He looked towards the young prince, his face, in contrast with the boy's wide and excited grin, was stoic and serious. "Tell me." he pointed to the unassembled tent between them on the ground. "Do you know how to put one of these together boy?" Scallio didn't know much about Kabe's life before his adoption by Kayen. What little he did know, was enough for him to suspect that Kabe might not even know what a tent was. Let alone where to begin when it came to putting one together.
"It's important that I know if you can or not because putting it together is the first step in our mission. So if you don't know, I'll have to take the time to teach you."

PL: 12,000 Kabe frowned honestly as Scallio pointed at some... thing. It was a collection of... poles? Maybe sticks or fish-catching-rods, and some cloth tarp for... cover? Why did it need to be put together, what was it for? Kabe thought maybe he might have to use the cloth for warmth if it got cold, but then he knew how to make fire with his energy. Hmm. "Um. Kabe not know." He mumbled, still fumbling with ideas for what it might be as he chewed on his fingertip in concentration. So, that meant Scallio would probably need to teach him. Kabe cricked his neck and got ready to learn, which was always a hard thing to do for him, but he was ready and he wanted to impress Scallio so he'd try his absolute darnedest. "Please teach Kabe!" Moving closer to the cloth and sticks, he squat down and thumbed at the material. It was... not soft or rough like fur or his princely garbs. It was more like the stuff they covered boxes full of food with on ships he'd steal from back on Vegeta. Hmm. "What do?" Kabe looked to Scallio for instruction and guidance. KP: 3/3 - Scallio

Scallio sighed, "I expected as much."he said upon noticing the perplexed frown on Kabe's face. It was a slight setback, Kabe not knowing how to pitch the tent, but it wouldn't cost them too much time. He hoped anyway, it all depended on how fast of a learner the young Saiyan was. It helped that Kabe seemed eager to learn as well. The mercenary stepped forward and squatted down next to the child. "Listen carefully and pay attention, because I hate repeating myself." he said sternly, "The first step in pitching a tent is to find a flat and level area to place it." he'd put an emphasis on flat to ensure that Kabe understood its importance.
"Now," Scallio motioned at the area that around them. For the most part the clearing was relatively flat. It was surrounded by a forest of trees on all sides but the north. Which had a pathway that led further into the more mountainous regions of Pazou. The section of the clearing were the duo currently stood was not an ideal place for one to pitch a tent. It had several moderate sized rocks nearby, not to mention it seemed to incline slightly. "Go find a level spot and lay the cloth down on the ground." he instructed, "Make sure to take the poles with you, you'll need them for the next step."

PL: 12,000 "Okay." Kabe saluted, after diligently listening to his mohawked friend's instructions. "Flat! Flat!" He cooed, scooping up the long poles and the tarped cloth, wrapping it into a crude bundle to carry over his shoulder as he whistled down the path with glee. Intently, his beady little eyes scanned the surroundings for a flat space large enough to lay the cloth out. The place he'd started seemed good at first, but the many rocks on the ground would have been too rough and maybe would have torn Scallio's tent! Kabe couldn't have that. Not at all. It didn't take too long to find a flat clearing in the trees a few minutes down the path, but Kabe frowned as he gripped onto the tent and mumbled in a sour tone. This area was perfectly flat, and there was mostly a clearing that was large enough to fit the tent comfortably, but the ground was littered with pebbles and rocks! "Hrmrmmm..." He grumbled, thinking hard. It might be forever and ever before he found a good space, and he'd already had to walk straight past three tasty looking colored frogs to find this one, but it also could be forever to get rid of the rocks! This was a tough decision. Finally, Kabe worked out what he could do. Rocks didn't taste half bad, he could just eat them all! Taking in a deep breath, a powerful gale of wind began to pull stones toward Kabe's gullet, washing them down and grinding them to sludge before joining the bottomless depths of the pit in his gut in mere seconds. The trees rustled like a storm was brewing, and one by one the brittle gravel layer, snapping twigs and bramble brush followed the pebbles as they marked their end in the depths of his maw, and the trees began to shake as they- All the wind stopped, as each nearby rock had made it's way into his stomach. Kabe stood their for a minute, mouth clenched tightly shut and cheeks puffed out, as his special stomach began to churn and bubble. Taking another deep sigh in with his nose, Kabe threw his head back and aimed his jaw skyward, a powerful blast of bright red energy beaming up to the sky before exploding into a shower of half-melted rocks that fizzled away before they got the chance to pelt the ground. "BLEEEEAAAGHG!!" KP: 3/3 - Scallio

There was something softening about watching Kabe as he tried out various spots for the tent's location. The young saiyan had a youthful innocence about him that Scallio admired. Enough to make him think about how things might have turned out for him if he'd been allowed to have the same.
Perhaps he wouldn't have all this anger or baggage to carry around. It was nice to think about but the mercenary shook his head. Almost as if doing so would fling the thoughts away from his mind. He couldn't allow himself to dwell on things like what-ifs. It wasn't going to do him any good in the slightest.
In fact, they were only a distraction and this was quickly proven true only moments later. Scallio had been so caught up in his thought that he hadn't noticed Kabe begin to suck in all the nearby rocks. His eyes widen with shock the moment he took notice. It was already too late to stop him, Scallio could only yell out. "Kabe!" he shouted and stepped forward, clearly concerned for the boy's wellbeing.
Apparently he didn't need to be, Kabe appeared absolutely fine after he'd finished guzzling down the rocks. Scallio blinked, frozen mid-step as Kabe released a mighty burp. "I-I..." he struggled to find the words, "I don't even know what to say." he was completely dumbfounded. Eating rocks of any amount, especially a large one, could not have been healthy for him.
It couldn't have been healthy for anyone honestly. Yet there Kabe stood and acting as if everything was perfectly fine.
"Are you okay?"

PL: 12,000 After the fizzle of rocks was completely out of his system and his mighty burp had echoed through the nearby trees, Kabe took a moment to look at Scallio. He seemed concerned, but quickly as he stepped forward looked completely dumbfounded and perplexed. Then after a moment, the mohawked man asked if the saiyan child was okay. "Kabe okay. Why Kabe not be okay?" Why would he asked that? Wasn't it obvious that Kabe was fine? Anyway, what was more exciting was that the flat area had been sorted now. "Kabe find flat! Tent! Tent!" He cooed, laying down the canvas tent materials and the poles like Scallio had told him. Waving him over and closer, his eyes were wide with curiosity. "What next! What next!" KP: 3/3 - Scallio
