AXIS OF ANARCHY
“It’s a myth.”
The Axis of Anarchy is a shadow organisation. On paper, it does not exist. There is no record of its name anywhere. It has no banner, no territory, no armies. Its existence is known only to the initiated, and snitching is a crime punishable by death. It is one of only a few actions the Axis forbids, for in truth it is an alliance of criminal groups. Working together, these influential underworld personalities weave a web of schemes and shadowy plots, all in the name of profit and power. While many lesser criminals may seek membership, the true power within the Axis is held by the leaders of its core organisations. Influence is the true currency of the Axis, and those who command the allegiance of the greatest gangs, crews and syndicates will find themselves atop the shadowy hierarchy of the Axis as Bosses.
Though members of the Axis might have their own goals and aspirations, they all share a common set of rules. This is the real purpose of the Axis: to unite the scum and villainy of the galaxy under a universal vision, and raise them all up through cooperation. Axis members are expected to maintain total secrecy of its existence, to never betray the decisions of the Axis, and to never turn on fellow Axis members without justification. Breaking any of those rules is punishable by death, a rule enforced by every one of the Axis’ members that holds true to its Criminal Code.

Headed by the aspiring crime boss Flip Fortuna, the Fortuna Syndicate has already made a splash on the galactic crime scene, taking control of the pirate fortress Knutts, and reworking it into a well oiled bastion of crime. Behind a veil of glitz, glamour, and gambling, is a shrewd criminal enterprise, working from both the pirate fortress, and the mobile space casino, the Big Gamble.

Independents:
Not all members of the Axis are part of a powerful underworld organisation. Many join for the protection it provides, as well as the benefits of working alongside its other members. Independents have less influence over the general direction of the Axis’ plans, but still stand to gain from their membership in other ways.
