The mind of a Saiyan can vary dramatically from one that lives for fighting and violence, or one that plays the part of the hero, perhaps even one that lives their life as a food vendor and nothing more with no aspirations for glory. The broken mind of a Saiyan could be one of a different sort entirely, especially one that had lived their life twice, and something beyond and back again. What better place for someone like that to hide than a city filled with broken buildings and broken people.
Kuma had felt herself to be a well adjusted Saiyan for her first life, but she was finding that a hard label to place upon herself in what was become her second. Ever since leaving Vegeta she had left a piece of herself on every planet she tracked that golden haired Saiyan, more frustrated and feeling herself slipping just a bit further towards something she didn't recognize. She had already found herself sleeping like a vagrant on a beach and losing her temper and blasting a hole through a wall simply over a video game in the short time since returning to Earth.
Standing in the center of a dark room in an abandoned small home near the edge of town, she stared at a wall with no expression on her face, trying to push all the thoughts that were catching up to her. For months she tried to stay busy, tried to keep searching, but in this quiet moment the flashes of the other world came back and she suddenly felt a smile spreading across her face that she hadn't consciously put there herself. Her hand shot up to feel her lips as she heard a sound behind her, seeing the front door had been blasted off its hinges. It took her a moment to see her own hand raised up towards the door, but she couldn't step towards or away from it despite her mind telling her to run. In a moment of confusion and frustration she let out a blood-curdling scream as loud as she could possibly manage before hearing what sounded like her own voice behind her as the scream was cut off, turning back towards the open door and staring out with wide-eyes.

”Just as the doctor ordered.”
The Namekian across from Vocado opened a metal briefcase, and inside lay the orange orb of his request. It glinted in the dim room, illuminating the surroundings like something from holy scripture. Staring almost wide-eyed, the Saiyan couldn’t believe his eyes. Was his goal that much closer already? It felt like a dream.
His connections to the Guzheng family, though deep-run, had faded over time. Their organization had gone mostly quiet, though there were some seldom few who tried making names for themselves. This helpful Namekian was one of them. Known simply as Fluud, he was a purveyor of all things hard to find. The Dragon Balls seemed to just be another stepping stone on his ever-expanding list of items.
Leaning back in his dusty chair, Vocado let a smile register. Maybe the hunt wouldn’t take as long as he feared.
Then again, not all that glittered was gold.
Grabbing the ball out of its casing, he examined it closely. ”Ah, of course,” Fluud said almost expectantly. ”You would probably want to check its authenticity. Some of the guys say you found the set on Namek. If you’re gonna base it on those, I’ll have to say you’ll be disappointed. For whatever reason the Earth set are like, a quarter the size.”
Turning it over in his hand, the Saiyan was surprised to see it felt very real. Nothing about it seemed off... Except one little detail.
There were two stars etched into the center of the ball.
And he already had the two-star ball.
Pulling his own ball out of a pouch on his belt, he tapped the two together, and confirmed that they were identical in just about every way. Which was precisely the problem.
”An excellent knock-off,” Vocado said, an energy ball forming as he stood up, ”but a fake wish is not what I hired you for.”
Just as his victim was about to protest, a scream echoed from upstairs. Blood-curdling and hopeless, Vocado almost hesitated on his kill to check on the person above. Instead, he launched the false Dragon Ball toward his Namekian counterpart, chucking it through his neck. It landed cleanly on the other end of the room, leaving the Namekian gasping for a breath of air he’d never receive.
Kicking the Namekian onto his back, he walked over the half-corpse, sighing as he looked down. The false Dragon Ball was cracked in half. He rolled his eyes, grabbing one chunk and tossing it between his hands. ”Hmph. Guess there’s one difference in your knock-off. Yours are far more flimsy.”
Turning his eyes skyward once more, he walked up the stairs with caution thrown to the wind. Whatever subtlety he could have afforded himself was probably lost when he walked in here without suppressing his energy anyways, so making an entrance was his next best bet.
Hopping past the top step, Vocado eyed the broken door with little interest. Whoever was up here was of little threat to him, but they seemed scared enough that maybe he could squeeze some kind of information out of them.
Rounding the corner, he leaned against the doorframe lazily, catching sight of a Saiyan girl. She seemed to be in a daze. Just what exactly had she seen up here?
”You lost, little one? Vegeta’s a few billion miles skyward.”
He took the fake dragon ball into his mechanical hand, and spun it atop his finger like a basketball. It scraped against his claw-like nail until a small dent began to carve itself.
”You wouldn’t happen to be a deserter, would you? Not many Saiyans roam the streets of Earth at night, and they certainly don’t sneak around abandoned buildings unless they’re hiding something.”

Despite her eyes staring straight towards where the newcomer was now placing themselves, there was little to no recognition of them as far as her facial expression showed. She was most assuredly seeing something however, but she seemed completely frozen for a long silent moment. In a sudden moment of clarity she snapped back and looked towards him with a slow turn of her eyes to meet his, as her face fell into a vacant stare. It was clear at the very least now she was looking towards them, but she still hadn't responded, but as her arm finally lowered she sighed and looked away towards the wall she had stared at earlier. "I'm not a deserter.", she spoke barely audibly.
"I'm not sneaking.", she said barely louder than before, but there was a lack of emotion in her voice as if she was preoccupied and focused elsewhere. Her second sigh was much louder and longer than the first, but her body looked to relax as she turned back towards the one addressing her, finally looking as if he had her undivided attention. "If I tried to explain to you why I'm here it either wouldn't make any sense or would make me sound crazy.", motioning around trying to show she was speaking specifically about the abandoned building. "I'm here on Earth looking for someone, but people here either somehow don't know anything or they don't want to talk to me."
There was a moment of realization when the light hit the other person's face, but she didn't make any visual signs of it as her face stayed the same outside of the slightest motion of her eyebrow. "I've been to Arcose, I've been to Namek, I've been to Earth twice now. No one will tell me about what these stupid dragon balls are, why I'm not dead, and where the hell my cousin is." For the first time in the conversation her voice was filling with emotion, somewhere between frustrated and pure sadness. "How can a Saiyan that is apparently glowing bright yellow from what I am told hide from billions of people? How do they make a magic wish that brings people back from the dead and no one can tell me anything about them?! How is that even possible?!" Her voice was echoing around the room by the time her words stopped from the volume she was angrily shouting.

"Tch. Figures I'd run into one of you."
Tossing the cracked bauble into the hallway, Vocado crossed his arms, rolling his eyes as he did. It'd be his luck that the screaming woman he'd run into entirely on accident would be someone Nashua revived. If this grunt knew anything, it was probably how to walk, if even that. Part of him considered vaporizing her for the trouble of making him walk upstairs, but he wasn't that heartless. It'd sure send a message though... If anyone was around to see him do it, that was.
Her mention of golden hair did perk up his ears though. If she was looking for a Super Saiyan, he supposed the least he could do was oblige. With as little effort as nodding his head, his aura suddenly exploded around him, energy rising to unfathomable heights. His hair spiked ever-harsher, a sharp golden hue coating his locks. The energy surrounding him colored itself much the same.
"Looking for a Super Saiyan? I'm no cousin of yours, but at least I fit one of your bills."
He approached Kuma slowly, his light engulfing the room. This was power incarnate. Even in such a simple setting, he could feel the adrenaline rush. Was this an addiction? If so, he certainly didn't mind feeding it.
"You're in luck, lost one. I've got some time to kill, and I've got a soft spot for those of us who missed out on the battle with the Arcosians, so I'll answer a couple questions for you." He raised his metallic arm, and flashed three fingers. "Think of me like your friendly neighborhood genie. Three questions get three answers. Take your time and really think about what it is you need to know."

Her eyes instantly show a glaring stare towards Vocado at his words "What's that supposed to mean?", watching the cracked object, but quickly looking back up and straining her eyes to make out the face in front of her. She hadn't noticed where he came from, just that he had appeared from out of view with her unfortunate mental instability outburst, which in hindsight was incredibly embarrassing someone else had heard. The only reason she even came in here was the assumption no one else was around, and unfortunately it seemed she was far from correct and here she was with another Saiyan, but not the one she was looking for.
His sudden display caught her off guard, more so having to shield her eyes as the room went from black to lighting up, the aura bouncing off the walls much like her voice had moments earlier, taking a moment for her to be able to even look back towards him fully. The gravity of the form and the power it held were lost on her in the moment as she had no way of sensing its energy and didn't know enough about it to understand the significance. "I'm looking for a Super Saiyan, but unless you are wearing an impressive disguise you aren't the one I'm looking for. Guess it's something, though." Every step he took towards he was one she took back, not sure his intentions and not looking to head back to the other world, especially leaving in some dirty run down building. "I'm not lost, I just can't find who I'm looking for.", still moving back until she smacked into the wall and grumbled loudly. "I haven't missed out on battles with any of those ice-hearted idiots. One put a beam through my chest and dropped me from behind like a damn coward.", dropping her fist down and slamming a dent into the wall. "Fine, three questions. How about this, if you are a "Super Saiyan" ", using air quotes to show her partial disdain and mocking of the name of the form he was showing off, "Do you know of any other like Nashua? I'm sitting dead in other world and the next thing I know I'm laying alive on Vegeta with burn marks through my clothes and no damn idea what happened. Apparently she had something to do with it and apparently she is glowing fancy like you right now."
She paused for a long moment trying to think of else was worth asking, but the truth was that was the main focus on her mind and most of what she wanted to ask was specifically of Nashua. "I don't know, answer that first and I'll think of something else. Finding her is sort of my main priority. It's the only reason I'm on Planet Dirt in the first place."

Vocado curled one of his fingers back, and nodded. ”Nashua, eh? I know her. She’s one of the top dogs in the Saiyan Kingdom. Real high-shelf. Last I heard there was a big brawl going on somewhere in Arcose’s ice-ridden gardens. My bet is she’s probably trying to stop the queen from beheading everyone. She is terribly optimistic, you know. Naive, too. I can see that trait runs in the family.”
Was this girl really related to Nashua? She seemed so different, honestly. Maybe he still had an idealized view of her in his mind. She’d tried so hard to steer things to peace, and now the galaxy was holding its breath. Reports hadn’t fully explained what exactly happened on Arcose yet, but it was clear that Kayen swung by with a particular intention. Hopeful as Nashua used to be, she seemed to harden a bit herself. Maybe she was freeing necks from their heads just as eagerly as the pirate queen.
”Planet Dirt, eh?” He stifled a chuckle. How racist! I should take a question away, but unlike you I’m quite kind. Make your next one quick, hm? I’m getting bored of exposition time already.”

His immediate response was far from what she wanted to hear despite telling her more or less exactly what she wanted to know. "That doesn't make much sense. Weak little Nashua is top dog of the kingdom. What the hell kind of world did I wake up in." Her hands went up in exasperated frustration as she started to pace, putting a hand up to her head as if getting some sort of a headache. She snapped her head around towards Vocado again trying to shake off whatever it was bothering her as her lip curled. "Queen, that's another what the hell. What happened to the King? I died, come back to life and there is a Queen I've never heard of, my cousin is some Super Saiyan important whatever, and I don't know what the hell else I've probably missed. None of this makes any sense. None of it!", moving a bit closer to a nearby wall and putting her foot through it with a front kick. "I can't believe this is the same world I left.", she said in a much more hushed tone as she pulled her foot free of the hole she had made and began to pace.
"What's racist about that? They named the planet not me. It's literally called Earth. They literally named a planet...dirt. It would be like naming Planet Namek Planet Grass, or Vegeta Planet Trees." Her pacing stopped as she walked towards Vocado and stopped a few feet away, crossing her arms. "What's not kind about me? I'm plenty kind ya jerk. I'm just having a really bad day" Her eyes narrowed on him for a long moment as she let out a soft grumble. "Well what the hell are dragon balls then? And let's just get this out of the way; who are you? Ya obviously know more than I do, ya know Nashua enough to know where she is, and you're all glowing so ya much be pretty strong."

Vocado smirked, and pulled another finger away. ”Our ever-so-powerful King was vaporized in the first attack on Vegeta. When everyone was revived, he was oddly absent. I took the crown during our forced exile from Vegeta, and when we got back a woman named Kayen took the crown for herself.”
Kuma was getting a bit too antsy. Asking too many questions in a row. He could easily strip away the final answer with any simple response, but he wasn’t that cruel.
Pulling his hand away fully, he walked back toward the doorway as he explained the Legend. ”The Dragon Balls are a mystical set of orbs. The seven of them being brought together lets forth a mighty dragon, who will grant any wish you desire. It’s quite the tale, and something I’m surprised you never heard of. It’s mentioned countless times if you read the right history books.”
But it seemed that was all he had time for. Three answers for a dozen questions, and still she asked more. He could keep silent if he really wanted, but since her final query was so simple he decided to humor her.
”Prince Vocado of House Bonemoon, if you must know. True King of Vegeta, and the first Super Saiyan in over a hundred years.”
Such a strange girl. Could he use her somehow? Maybe. There was just as good a chance that she would be useless, though. Only time would tell what kind of player she would be in the grand scheme of things.
”We could play this game of story time all day, but I’ve already given you so much. You know more than I did when this all started, that much is for sure. The rest you have to learn on your own. Maybe in a few weeks we can reconvene and we can play this game in reverse. Sound good?”
He didn’t wait for Kuma’s answer. Instead, he started walking down the hall, skipping every other step on the stairs as his golden Ki illuminated the room.
”You should get going, you know. I’m sure Arcose will be in Saiyan control before the week is out. You wont want to miss out on all the feasts and celebrations. It’s been much too long since our people conquered something so significant.”
If she didnt try stopping him, the Super Saiyan would leave through the front door, before blasting through the sky, leaving a streak of gold in his wake.

Her eye twitched a bit as she rolled her neck with a sigh. "Yeah I figured he was dead. I don't know who the hell this Kayen is though. I mean yeah, I've seen her from a far before I left Vegeta but I never heard of her before that. Guess things have gone to hell if some random giant of a person can just walk in and take the crown." She watched his hand dropped as her eyes narrowed. All she wanted was answers, but it seemed whoever this guy was wanted to play games with her. "That sounds like some fairy tale you'd tell a child to get them to go to sleep.", giving a bit of a shrug. "How would I have heard about something like that? I never had any reason to come to Earth before now, and when you guys all left I was one of the unlucky ones who died trying to protect Vegeta. Magic wish balls from a mystical dragon wasn't knowledge at the top of my list in the middle of fighting with the fleet. I ain't much for history books either." This Vocado guy at least knew something about something, now it was just a matter of how much he was going to actually tell her with her question answering game.
"That's a mouthful of a title. The whole prince thing explains the attitude though. Guess I can't hold i against ya. True King though; that's a pretty bold statement. If that's the case then why is the one-eyed giant woman sitting on the throne while you are in this run down place playing glow in the dark? Or is that too many questions for you my liege?", mockingly bowing with a bit of a smirk. She wasn't going to admit she liked his attitude as it reminded her a lot of her mother, and most male Saiyans didn't like being compared to other Saiyan's mothers in her experience. "I don't care much for stories, I just want to know what the hell is happening. Just happens to be a lot that's happened in the last few years." She wanted to spit fire at his refusal to tell her anymore, but it wasn't as if he had any obligation to tell her what he had thus far. "I'm not sure what you expect me to tell you that you don't already know clearly. Unless I can find those dragon balls and wish for someone to tell me what's going on, not sure this game of yours works that great the other way around."
It looked like he was ready to leave, and she wasn't sure if she should follow him for the sake of not knowing what else to do or sit here and wallow some more, but neither was turning into an amazing option in her mind. Staying here clearly wasn't going to help anything and she doubted he'd let her follow him far anyhow. For the moment she was at least headed out the same direction and walked a few feet behind for a few steps anyways. "I couldn't go to Arcose if I wanted to. I can't breathe in space and my stupid ship broke landing on this rock." If nothing else came of this meeting, it got her mind off of things and cleared a few things up. At best it gave her some better directions to head in and potentially someone to find in the future if she really needed some answers. "Hey, uh...", she started to run up to him but stopped again with a bit of distance between the two. "Thanks, or whatever.", trying to sound genuine while trying to stay aloof about the situation as she made no further attempts to keep him from leaving.
