Threading at 3500 PLYori was in another of these 'cities' now. The countryside had been boring. She was sent to watch people, and while she didn't know what exactly that meant, she did, in fact, know that cows were not people, and watching farmers was a lot less efficient than watching the crowds of a city. And so she had flown past those beautiful countrysides, and into Satan City, annoyed with the fact that it looked exactly the same as the other city she was just in. She thought there would be differences! But it's just... big concrete buildings with big windows and dome-shaped buildings, and everything looked the same from above. Maybe the view would be different from the street level, and so she ended up landing in a corner somewhere - for some reason most people reacted like it was weird that she could and would just fly around? It was another annoyance about Earth life. Unfortunately - or perhaps, fortunately - for her, she had landed in not the nicest neighborhood, as the sun had begun to go down. The perfect time for people with ill intentions to come out, and harass the short, skinny red skinned woman who was walking down alleyways. Indeed, two such youths were already approaching her, a tall young man with a red beanie, and a shorter friend, "Yo! I ain't ever seen a freak like you around here!" The one in a red beanie was louder, and brash, as he shouted at her. The other one just tried to look intimidating and failed, as he spoke as well, "Don't you know freaks gotta pay a toll 'round here?"A toll? Yori's mind didn't understand it at all - and then she remembered the words earlier, paying for food, exchanging pieces of useless paper for services. Oh. They wanted her to pay them for something. "I don't possess any of this paper you desire. You should ask elsewhere." She explained it simply, calmly. She needed no service of them, so why would she pay them. The idea that she was being robbed was a foreign concept, that she had never once had encountered. She had only just recently learned what money was, after all. She tried to walk past them, to just pass by them both and leave the alley. Sadly, they were not letting her past, blocking her way, and putting hands on her shoulders, "Yeah right! Like you don't have any money. Do you think we're stupid?" Yeah, she was pretty sure they were, as the large one suddenly went flying through the air, crashing into a telephone pole. The movement was clean, the sheath on her side pulled off and smacked to the large man's stomach, sending him flying through the air, without a single sound of it happening until he crashed into the pole. A sickening snap of the man's ribs came only after he had already hit the ground as if the sound had forgotten to be made. "Do not touch me." Is her glare to the other human, who ran off screaming from the 'freak' as he soiled himself in fear. Yori was left alone with the unconscious larger thug, watching the telephone pole slowly tilt over... and then the lines snapped, and Yori moved wordlessly to protect the man she had broken the ribs of from electrical wires, catching them in her bare hands. As they lit her up with thousands of volts of electricity, she ripped them out of their fallen pole, cutting off the flow of electricity completely. She hadn't expected the electricity, she caught the large 'ropes' only because the speed at which they fell would likely injure a normal human. Ripping them out was just a natural reaction to being shocked. And also ended up cutting out the power to a city block, as she did all this. Completely blank as to anything being wrong, as all the lights went out along the street, leaving her standing above an unconscious man in the dark. Amber Cross

Sitting silently in the park, the young girl let her gaze travel towards the setting sun. It had been a long day, only the first since she had left home on her journey. The android leaned back against the statue, letting her head rest against the base as she stared up at the huge man. “What...was your legend, Mr. Satan? Why did the people of your time erect a statue for you?” The girl didn't expect an answer from the tall statue; after a few short moments of waiting, the girl rose to her feet and began walking. Amber didn't care where she walked, as her feet carried her along. There was no destination in her heart or mind, simply a desire to walk away from the fears and weight on both. As she turned the corner of a street, a young man slammed into her. Both fell to the ground, the young man squealing in fear as he tried to scrabble away in fear. The short girl looked at him in concern, noticing the sorry state of his pants. “What...happened to you?” “There was this evil girl, who almost killed my friend! She's holding him hostage back there! Do you have a cell or something you could use to call the police?!” His frantic plea fell on empty air, as the young android sprinted past him towards the direction he'd been running from.
Thrusting her hands up in front of her face, the girl made a screen with her fingers and began scanning to either side. She found the largest power signature four hundred meters in front of her, seemingly between alleys and streets. Letting the screen disperse into emerald dust as her hands went to her sides, the short girl sprinted to one side. Cutting through a side street and vaulting over a large wall, the girl landed on the far side. She found herself standing on a dark street. Her eyes instantly adjusted for the darkness, an inner glow emanating from her hazel gaze. She saw a tall woman standing over an unconscious man, with a broken telephone post and severed power lines lying nearby. Clutched in one of her hands was a weapon of some sort. Amber didn't need to bring up her scanners to tell the man was alive; he was moaning from pain, doubtless about to wake up or attempt to escape. “I don't know who you are, but its clear you're not up to any good.” Emerald energy began glowing through the girl's hair, as she brought her fists up. Lines of emerald light began running through her metallic bag, as the girl thrust one hand towards the sky. A single finger pointed heavenwards, as the girl shouted loudly. “CDT System, Activate!” The backpack exploded outwards, metal shards and sliver garment spiraling outwards. Emerald energy sparkled through the air, as the girl thrust her hands out. The garment shot inwards, surrounding and embracing the girl's figure tightly. Emerald energy ran through the system, creating lines of emerald power that connected to the various metal components as they secured themselves to the girl's silver raiment. Two large gauntlets finished assembling themselves and the girl thrust her hands into both. Clenching them into fists as her dress finished assembling itself, the girl slid her feet apart. Metal and emerald sabatons secured themselves around her feet, finishing the raiment of silver and emerald the small girl wore. She had gained two inches from the transformation, and over a hundred pounds of weight. Her armor crackled with green electricity, as the girl thrust both fists out and resumed her stance from before. “Emerald Knight, Amber Cross, stands here to defend that man and his companion from your wrath, foolish woman.” YoriCurrent PL - 2800

Yori was expecting a few things from this planet as a whole, and none of them were happening - instead, it was unexpected occurrence after unexpected occurrence. Disrespect after disrespect, which led to where she was now - a tiny woman appearing near her, with lightly glowing eyes that she could see clearly in the dusk. Another person comes to insult her, just as this man had by touching her - perhaps a friend of him? She was told that she was clearly up to no good, and Yori's response could only be summed up as a dismissive scoff at the ridiculous notion of the woman. The idea that it was wrong to defend yourself from being touched, well, it was a touch absurd to the Shinjin, even if she had no idea what the man was actually trying to do in robbing her. She had been touched first, and she merely shoved the man back, after all - and she was about to reply to explain why she was clearly in the right. And then the woman took posing like some sort of idiot playing at being a superhero and began transforming, like some form of... well, superhero. Perhaps it wasn't as silly as she thought it was since clearly, the woman was actually transforming into some form of a battle-ready fighter, like something out of a bad novel full of secret identities and dramas related to it. The red Shinjin was never skilled at tracking energy or power levels, but she felt literally nothing from this woman. And yet, she didn't want to fight - she didn't come to fight, she didn't want to beat up the human who was still groaning on the ground. Instead, she just wanted to watch humans in their environment, and this woman didn't look too human any longer. And was clearly looking for a fight with her, some kind of silly technological creature obsessed with fighting? It didn't anger her, it just made he laugh softly. And then she declared her name, and what she was there for, and Yori looked over at the human. Wait, she really was here to protect this stupid human man? "If you want him, take him, Emerald." She said it with a shrug, as she bent down over the man, picking him up by his shirt between two fingers... and just flung the man over towards Amber, with no ill intent to hurt her, a gingerly pass as if he was a simple ball to be thrown around as a sport, "I don't need that man for anything." She had her sheathe still held in the other hand, its long charms hanging off the end jingling lightly as she moved it up over her shoulder, wrapping her elbows over it as she stretched herself on it, looking like some sort of thug with a bat. And then just... starting to walk away, while Amber caught the man, not quickly, in no hurry at all. Just enough to be turning around, laughing at Amber.

“If you want him, take him, Emerald.” The tall woman reached down with one hand, before throwing the man towards her. The small girl caught the man, noticing the disdain with which the woman cast the injured man aside. The android knelt to the ground, setting the injured man down and scanning his injuries. He had multiple fractured and shattered ribs; a far more serious injury than any the girl had witnessed before. The woman stated she hadn't needed the man for anything, as she held aloft a weapon of some sort. This...woman....did this to this man, and has the gall to act like nothing is wrong? She wears a smile like nothing is wrong with her actions...and it really pisses me off. Slowly rising to her feet, the girl thrust one hand over her shoulder. The shorter man had followed her and was hiding behind the corner, recording the conflict with his cell. Shouting in a loud voice, as her own building emotions started to boil over. It wasn't a rage born of misunderstanding; this was a righteous rage, born from a heart of justice seeing evil done against those less fortunate. “You, hiding there! Call an ambulance for your friend; he might still pull through if he gets aid soon. As for you...” Her gaze, glowing through the visor of her helmet, fell on the tall woman, shifting into a glare. Green lightning danced along her body, as she muttered under her breath, loud enough for the woman to hear. It would be lost to the friend calling the ambulance, as the girl took one step forward. “You're a menace to society. A friend...a close companion taught me a valuable lesson today. That those with strength have a right to protect those weaker. That's what makes a hero...and fighting for those weaker, protecting the lives of those less fortunate, is what gives a hero purpose.” Slamming her boots into the asphalt, the ground caved and shattered around her metal sabatons. Engines within the emerald and silver attachments crackled with energy, as the girl's gaze remained on the tall woman. The android was trying to analyze the sword the woman held, detect if it had any energy or life of its own. Stalling for more time, the girl thrust her gauntlets to either side and shouted. “Want to know why heroes are immortal!?” Regardless of whether the woman answered, the girl would jump-start her attack, engines within her gauntlets and boots roaring to life. Using the centrifugal force of her gauntlets, the small girl launched herself into a spinning leap. Her sabatons exploded with green flames, sending the girl shooting sideways. She struck the telephone post still standing across from the tall woman, landing and bracing herself sideways as the huge, wooden post shivered from the impact. Her gaze remained on the woman, as she launched herself into an upwards flip. Arcing through the air, the girl reactivated her boot engines and attempted to bring her engine-boosted heels down on the top of the tall woman's head. Regardless if her boot struck the woman's head or not, the engines would drive her feet into the pavement below, as the girl landed in her stance from before. Heat would waft off her suit and weapons, as she thrust her gauntlets forward and attempt to drive her fists into the stomach and chest of the tall woman. From this range, she could see that the woman had red skin and white hair, evidence that she wasn't of normal descent. Retracting her gauntlets, she'd raise her guard and mutter loud enough for anyone listening to hear. “Because heroes aren't people; they're an idea that resonates with any that possess an honest and good heart.”

The one that ran off had come back? Yori hadn't expected that she was hoping that her display would be enough to get everyone to leave her alone and get them out of her way. But either way, she didn't exactly mind that he was back, seeing as he seemed scared enough to not get in her way. She didn't know why this 'Emerald' was getting so worked up - a few ribs were broken, so what, she'd broken worse on the regular. Humans were weaker than her, of course, but that didn't mean she'd done too much, clearly. If she had, well, humans were even more disappointingly weak than she had expected - though there was also a turn, a look of what may have been a bit of concern, as she heard Emerald being so worried about what she saw as minor wounds. Just in time to watch her crack the pavement with her foot - something she was almost certain that she would have to take at least some effort to do, with or without her magic. It was impressive, interesting, and actually got her to grin - unfortunately, the next words out of Amber's mouth sent her back to scowling, "Everything dies, heroes, gods, and good feelings! Don't presume to be immortal, because you see yourself as some protector!" Her sheath was pulled down, the scan was negative of anything magical, mystical, ki based, technologically based, or anything - it seemed to be formed of a very powerful, alien wood, but nothing else of note. There were not even any traces of metal within it - no blade sat within the sheath, only a long train of mystical charms that came off the end of the blade, not even lightly glowing with any form of power. The scanning instead locked onto one of the woman's jacket pockets, where a load of energy could be felt - the same jacket that she reached into, as Amber shot off with green fire, as her system propelled her at high speeds. She watched the woman bounce from one section of the road, to the telephone pole, the speed just barely within her senses - an impressive feat, she was liking this unnatural metal covered woman more and more, the longer she watched. Dangerous, pretty, a heart of justice, it was all things she liked about a person, far more impressive than any of the other humans she had met. That said, however, she had almost no idea why someone would be so silly as to announce their intentions to attack before doing so. If she hadn't turned around from the heroic speech, the blow would have surely landed with ease, before she could even think to respond to it. For a moment, Yori was glad that the woman's words had drawn her eyes back to the 'fight', as she pulled out a simple strip of paper, with the kanji for the North drawn upon it, holding up the paper with two fingers, to speak, "Shield of the Northern Face, I invoke your least form." Unfortunately for Amber, her heroic speech had gotten Yori's attention, and so the energy flowed into a small shield, invoked inches from her face, not from inside of Yori herself, but instead drawn in with a sudden gust of wind, that carried with it a prismatic array of colors, shining into the symbol of the North Kai, as she protected herself - the shield took the brunt of the blow, cracking lightly under the force. Emerald landed, and two more strips of paper thrown into the air in a quick moment, no chant this time as a pair of shields appeared in front of her face and chest, just perfectly in front of the android's fists, appearing in the second before they landed on Yori's body. And then the shields shattered, as they absorbed the blow, and Yori was driven back, sliding backward from the force of the punches remaining after the shields broke. Not enough to damage her, but she slid back into a wall, and had to laugh - her hair looked a mess from the speed at which she moved, bangs falling in front of her eyes, "Oh, I like you quite a lot, little hero." She pushed herself away from the wall, brushing off her shoulders nonchalantly, like the display wasn't amazing to her, "But you know if we fight here people will get hurt worse than him. I don't have any interest in hurting people who haven't accosted me." She tapped the building she had ran into, as if to indicate what she meant - and perhaps to threaten those inside, in the eyes of a justice-loving android, in a rush of emotion, "Their first representatives may have been poor at their duties, in trying to collect tolls from someone without funds, but that doesn't mean I want to hurt them." A little laugh once more, she was having so much fun, as she walked slowly towards Amber, not trying to attack, no blows coming, "Don't you want to go fight somewhere less populated? I wouldn't want either of us to have to worry about hurting innocents." A good fight was so appealing to her, she wanted to exercise with this powerful human. ---------------------------- Amber Cross

Amber's scanners didn't detect the barrier the woman threw up at the last second, a multicolored ethereal barrier that drew upon the wind around them. Her detection system caught the shift in the wind, bringing up various warning signs as her boot was halted inches from the woman's head. A large symbol of foreign origin glowed in the air, radiating with innate energy. Her boot slid past the barrier and smashed through the pavement, crushing the concrete as the powerful barrier cracked from the force. Her second attack was blocked the same way, but the small android caught the origin of the barriers this time; the woman was using some form of mystic art, evoking barriers through the use of a ritualistic talisman and her own abilities. Her gauntlets shook from the impact, as the android and woman were locked in a stalemate. Then, both shields exploded in a burst of wind, striking both females. The green-haired girl, with one of her boots buried in the cement, had to weather another storm of warning symbols, but forced her fists forward to collide with the woman. Both strikes were shallow; she hardly felt them, if she did at all. Amber's gaze remained on the woman, as she slid back from the impact. The red-skinned woman slid the entire length of the street, slamming into the wall hard enough to shake down dust. Despite the impact on the wall, the foreign woman maintained her footing, despite the split-seconds that had passed since the initial impact of the fight. A grin was on her face, as the woman laughed. She mentioned liking Amber a lot, which earned a frown from the small android. I don't care if you like me at all, lady. I'm just here to protect something greater than either of us. The woman dusted her jacket off, before casually turning away. Amber's rage was slowly building again, until the woman spoke. She made a legitimate point, mentioning the simple fact that their location could harm the locals. Amber's heart stopped, as she realized in her own haste to defend the injured man, she'd forgotten about the rest of the people and their combined safeties. The tall woman mentioned something about tolls and poor representatives, but both of those were lost on the girl. The short android struggled to choose her own path, as the woman walked closer. In a soft voice, almost a whisper, the woman completed her speech with a simple question. IT was that question, and the following sentences, that returned the steel to Amber's hazel gaze. “I will follow you to the ends of the earth if I have to; you can choose another battle ground, lady, but it will only delay the inevitable.” Her voice was soft but firm, ice running through the undertone. Her gaze remained on the tall woman's, as the sound of sirens became faintly audible. Anyone who desires only a fight, and considers the safety of others, innocents, a minor worry needs to be given a harsh reality check. I have to beat her, if only to further drive home the meaning of my words.

The steel in that gaze was amazing, it was beautiful, it reminded her of the Kais themselves, so resolute in their duty, so ready to stand up for their names, so glorious and wonderful. But this was even better - she was staring with steeled resolve over something dangerous, she was standing up to a woman she viewed as a danger to people. She loved this feeling, of being stared at like she was so in the wrong because she could feel the passion behind those steeled eyes. She'd never expected to meet a hero who was this resolute, this strong-willed, who backed up words with action and passion, she was so excited to have met someone like this. It was exciting, exciting enough that she wasn't getting angry at being made out to be the villain in this story, exciting enough that she didn't even try to correct the woman further on this misconception about her being so mad person. Instead, she just held aloft another charm, this one with the kanji for the south, "I call upon the southern wind, gentle and kind, lift me and in your arms allow me to fly." Once more wind seemed to rush to empower the prayer, Yori lifting off from her position on the ground, looking over to Amber, "Can you fly? Or should I carry you in my arms, until we reach somewhere more deserted?" She was just barely off the ground, and gave a kind smile to the woman, as she offered to carry her, "I don't want to have you wasting energy or exerting yourself to follow me, after all." She could, in fact, carry the heavy android, even if it would be more than a little surprising how much she weighed.
Regardless of what Amber said in reply, Yori would float higher - the woman in her arms or not - and take off towards the nearby wastelands. She wanted to avoid damage to innocent life, and wildlife such as birds were included in that - worse, the flames from Amber's attacks could cause a forest fire. The Shinjin had no want for that to happen, the destruction would be even beyond her normal lapses into anger and their damage to the trees around her. The wasteland she had flown over earlier would be a good place - even if the energy that filled her magic seemed to shift as she left the city, and entered the damaged lands, feeling the flow of energy shift from the energetic power of humanity, to this cold, desolate energy. It made her shiver, she didn't like the feeling, but glancing towards where Amber was set that fire alight in her once more. This was fun, today was fun, going to that city was fun. Even having someone try and touch her when they shouldn't have led to something great, and she was grinning as she landed in the wasteland, motioning all around them, beaming to Emerald. "Here we are! Should be far from anything living, so we don't have to worry about breaking anything." She stretched her back out as she surveyed the land, not rushing to get started, refusing to take the first blow against someone when they first got here.
The wastelands were fitting to their name - there was nothing for miles around them, no birds, no trees, only bits of bare grass, and a few snakes and lizards hidden under rocks. The sun was down by the time they arrived, it was dark, and getting quite cold, but the heat of the upcoming battle had Yori pumped, ready. She began to remove her jewelry unless interrupted, - not wanting to get it ruined, her jacket would come off too, to wrap it up in the nearly unbreakable material that kept her clothes from tearing to pieces during a good fight. She waited for any of Amber's preparations to be done as well, wanting a sporting fight, and having no interest in surprise attacks or hitting anyone when they're not ready - hoping that this hero felt the same. "Just so you know, my name is Yori, Emerald. I thank you for heeding my request, and following me out here."
Feel free to take the first move! I chose wasteland. Am at 7000 because the transformation is permanent.

Amber's fists never shifted, as the tall woman flicked another charm out from one of her pockets. Holding it aloft in the air, she called out to the winds of the south. It seemed to answer her call, rushing in from all sides to lift the woman into the air. The woman offered Amber a ride, which the small android immediately declined. There's no knowing what she could do if she held me in her arms. I refuse to put myself in that helpless a position. Igniting the engines within her fists and boots, the small android took to the sky, using her small body and miniature boosters within her suit to adjust and check her flight. The small girl followed the tall woman who rode the wind literally, ensuring the tall woman didn't make a break for it and flee. The setting sun finished its descent behind the horizon, leaving the area completely bathed in darkness. Landing on an open plain, devoid of life either green or furry, the small android slid her feet apart and stared at the woman. The red-skinned woman landed softly, before taking the time to remove various jewelry and take off her jacket. She was wearing some kind of tight-skinned suit, that hugged her body almost as snugly as Amber's own CDT membrane. The small girl could finally see the firm muscle and inner strength of the tall woman, and found herself having second thoughts already. All I did before was scan for possible weapons; what was that woman's strength anyway? Mentally cuing the visor display to show power levels in units, her heart dropped and she felt a knot forming in her throat. Her own strength was displayed in units on the inside corner of the HUD, along with her suit's current conditions. It was a massive two-thousand eight-hundred, when compared to the average fighter or officer's strength at twenty power units. How...how is she at seven thousand? I can't win this fight...it won't even be a fair slaughter. Her panicked thoughts were interrupted, as the woman stood up and crossed her arms. There was a look of smug joy on the tall woman's face, as she introduced herself. Her name was Yori, and she thanked the android for following her out there. I can't let her take the momentum or my motivation. I need to maintain my focus, or the odds of my defeat go from 99% to absolute. Let's dance. “The name's not Emerald. It's Amber, Amber Cross. Emerald is just the color of my hair and heart. Let's dance, Yori.” Regardless of Yori's preparation or stance, the young android reactivated the engines within her boots and suit, cracking the earth as she sprinted forward. Plumes of earth shot up from each step the android planted down. Sprinting past the woman, Amber activated the engines within her gauntlets and checked her sprint instantly. Hopping into the air behind the woman, half of her engines cut out while the others went into overdrive. The sudden shift in momentum caused the girl's heavy suit to whip into a blurring sideways spin, with her heel aimed for the center of the back of Yori's head. Regardless of whether her kick landed, the girl would activate her engines and gyro-sensor, ensuring her body landed feet first and buried her boots into the earth. Rocks and dust shot into the air, as the girl thrust one gauntlet forward. Seven engines activated, as the girl gritted her teeth. Emerald energy shot in lines through her suit and focused around the gauntlet, which ignited in green light. “KNUCKLE BLASTER, FIRE!” Her boots cut craters backwards through the rock and earth, as the recoil from her gauntlet exploding off her fist shoved the girl back. Her fist drew a green line through the air as the large weapon almost instantly covered the short distance between the small android and the tall woman. A test, to see just how futile the gap is. If it hits, I might have a chance. If she stops it... Her eyes remained on Yori, waiting for the response and reaction to her almost-instant attack.

Her flight was amusing, though Yori felt like she the woman had wasted energy coming here like that, when she could have just ridden on Yori, and relaxed. Still, Amber - not Emerald - gave her the time she needed to undress and make sure that she wasn't getting clothes blown away in a silly fight like this. It made her happy to think about, that this woman was so considerate of her needs, even as she thought of her as such as villain. The smile on her face just stayed there, happy, amused, and more than a little creepy looking at the idea of being so happy to get into a fight. She watched the woman, as she waited there, not quite rushing to attack, not quite delaying it - but there was something about Amber she just felt herself liking. The attitude, the holier than thou savior, the risk taker, the interest in this technology that was so wonderful to watch. She felt her herself wanting to take this android, and make her, well, hers, to train with, to use as a guide, and perhaps even as something as base as being friends. But before that, she had the fight to tend to - she watched Amber, eyes focused on the woman as she stood up from wrapping her jewelry in the jacket. The name's not Emerald. It's Amber, Amber Cross. Emerald is just the color of my hair and heart. Let's dance, Yori. The words echoed to her, and she grinned giving a taunting little wave of her hand, telling the Android to bring it on. her sheath in one hand, the chains dangling by her fist, grasped tightly on the wood. And then suddenly the woman was behind her, once again trying to kick off her head in the first movement - a good, practical move in a fight, if a little too deadly for Yori's own taste. "I will happily join this dance, Amber~! In a twist of sudden motion, there was no paper charm to defend, only that 'sword' that she wielded, interplacing itself right in the arch of Amber's foot, Yori using both hands to shove the woman's foot away from her, a mere inch from touching her hair, from tracking dirt from the ground into her beautiful hair. Okay. That was more annoying than anything - she could handle surprise attacks and trying to rip off her head, but trying to dirty her? That was just rude - she wished the woman would stop trying to hit her with the dirtiest parts of her bodies. Not that she had the chance to verbalize her complaint, as Amber switched from her heel kick - landing in a smooth motion and almost instantly striking a pose that in Yori's mind said 'shooting a ki beam to try and destroy me.' And so she responded with her own, a paper charm with the kanji for heaven attached to the sheath, the wind shooting at the same moment that the fist shot off of Amber's body. The scene to follow would require multiple high-speed cameras to capture properly, as the Sheathe covered itself in prismatic energy, all of the colors of the rainbow mixing around it as it formed into a katana in Yori's hand. "Heavens release your servant's weapon, I call upon the sword of the celestial heavens~!" She chanted, in the same movement that she went to block the woman's fist - magical power meeting with technological power in a clashing that Yori was clearly winning from the first moment they touched. And then her wrist twisted, and instead of the mystical blade embedding itself in the woman's fist, Yori shot the fist down into the ground - ricocheting it back at the woman. If anything, the rocket fist had somehow gained more power in the clash, from when it was first fired. Bits of the prismatic energy of the sword helped to direct the returned attack towards Amber, while Yori gave no attempt to follow up - indeed, she just watched the flying fist, as her sword disappeared for a moment, returning to its natural form as a wooden sheath with nothing special about it at all. The fist was aimed for the woman's leg - somewhere important, vital even, but that likely wouldn't kill her if the blow hit too hard. It would definitely break bones of a normal human, or worse, but this woman was clearly no normal human. The real reason she didn't follow up being that she wanted to see how the woman reacted, she was gauging it, watching it. Amber's hazel gaze narrowed in frustration, as the woman simply guided the wooden blade she held in one hand into the center of her boot. Using a simple twist and both hands, Yori shifted Amber's powerful heel drop away from her head. As Amber's feet slammed into the concrete and her gauntlet shot up, Yori spun towards her with her sword raised. Her visor managed to catch the high-speed motion of Yori placing a talisman on the sheath of her 'wooden' sword. Wind came surging in, as Amber's defense systems enhanced her visual recognition speeds to cope. The young girl saw the rainbow forming around the sword, creating a blade of prismatic light. Amber's heavy, engine-assisted gauntlet struck the rainbow blade, energy crackling through the air. From the instant the crude weapon struck the woman's rainbow sword, Amber knew she was going to lose the clash of power. The tall woman shifted her blade and launched the fist into the ground. The engines were still operating, as the fist ricocheted off the ground. Whether Yori intended to shift the path of the emerald knuckle or not, the automatic systems in place within the robotic weapon were still doing their best to bring the gauntlet back to Amber's hand. Instead of the intended leg shot, the gauntlet slammed into Amber's gut, yanking her feet free of the earth. The small girl flew backwards, striking the ground twenty feet back and rolling to a stop face-down. Pain shot through her entire body, far greater than anything the girl had experienced before. If there had been anything in her stomach, Amber would have definitely vomited it onto the rocky ground lying underneath her. Instead, the girl simply coughed and choked, struggling to bite back the blurring pain that left her immobile. Slowly, shakily, the small girl rose to her feet. Her suit was sparking from where the attack had slammed into her stomach. The seamless white suit had a small tear across her stomach, where emerald energy and sparks flowed free. Letting her free hand fall to her side, the gauntlet spun off the ground and locked back into place around her hand. Her hazel gaze was distant, none of the previous steel or hatred within their depths. Papa, it hurts, it hurts, it hurts so much! I can't do this; I'll die. I can't fight, I have to run...I'm going to die. Frantic thoughts crossed the girl's mind, as she took one, trembling step backwards. All of the steel and fight from before had vanished, as the girl sought refuge from the pain and agony she had experienced. Tears began forming in her eyes, as the reality of what she was doing slammed into her. She was only fifteen years old, had lost her father, killed an old man who simply sought happiness, and was now fighting a woman for nothing more than a difference of opinions. Her will, her desire to fight, was vanishing by the second. Taking another step backwards, her gaze fell. The broken, shattered earth was a symbolic representation of her own motivation. Papa...you promised I would have your help! Even if you vanished to the end of the earth, I could depend on you to save me in the darkest moments! A single, audible beep echoed through the visor, before a voice she missed with all of her soul came on in the earpiece, resonating with her heart. It was the message the small android needed with every ounce of her being. “ If you're hearing this message, it means one of three things has happened: You've found your true rival at the end of the Trueheart path, you have found your three companions, or...you've found yourself at the end of your ropes, struggling to win. Regardless of which path it is...there's one more tool I've left for you, beyond the upgrades and software I've left for the future or you already possess. It will be painful, even more so than the burden you've already carried. It comes with a price. It will never be fun. It has to be a last resort, something you only use when all else fails. It's called...” Amber's eyes widened in shock, as a new strength poured into her heart. This was no longer a fight for beliefs, the world, or even justice. It was about to become something far worse, something she would have to pay for emotionally in the future. But, there was one way to prevent it. One way to save both parties the pain it could create. “Yori...you're free to run, if you'd like. I can tell you're not evil. You and I...are representatives of the same side of Justice, though our ways and teaching were different. This is the only chance I'll give you. Whatever happens next...I may or may not be able to stop.” Her tone was cold and loud, carrying across the wasteland. Her eyes had a dose of the steel from before, but lacked the anger and righteous fury of before. There was only exhaustion behind the steel in the small android's eyes, as she waited for Yori's response.

She hadn't expected the guidance system to kick in the way it did, she was completely blindsided by how her innocent attempt at disabling a leg had ended up knocking the woman over, to give a cough and sputter. Yori was... conflicted, part of her enjoyed the fight, the back and forth, but as she watched the woman nearly retch, she couldn't help but bring a hand up to her lip - part of her wanting to end the fight, and go offer help. She liked fighting, she always had, but she viewed fighting as a dignified art, between two challengers, not a contest to make the other hurt worse. The eternal war raged within - fighting was fun, but causing pain, causing her new partner in this battle to fall like that, into the dirt, to dirty herself? It wasn't the fun part of fighting. But Amber stood up, Yori had only gone a few steps, and she stopped at that, because she wasn't going to insult Amber further by implying she couldn't take care of herself, or that her struggling was for nothing.
But those eyes, they were sad - not in the woman's feelings, but in how they made Yori feel. She couldn't help but feel that pain in her heart, seeing someone look so hopeless, so pained, so dejected. There wasn't anger and violence in her eyes, no righteous justice, just the fear of mortality, of losing, and it was a fear that Yori understood better than most would think. She had failed many times in training, been beaten - she wasn't skilled with Ki like many of her race, she relied almost entirely upon a mastery of magic, which was a skill that was much less common and easy for even other Shinjin to understand. Her body was a lot weaker than many of her race, combined with her anger issues - she had gotten into many, many a fight, or been chosen by older Shinjin to be used as a lesson.
So this hurt, as she stood there, and watched the woman lose her drive. But then her eyes looked... scared, not for herself, but for Yori, she warned the Shinjin to run, and something in the way she said it, her hair stood up on end, and she could feel herself on edge from it. But she wasn't the type to run away from something like this, not if she was worried about it, "If you're going to hurt anyone, it may as well be me, Amber Cross, heroine of justice. I will not run from you. I will stand, and absorb your worries as you wish." She stood there, paper charms in hand. Waiting. Ready.

“If you're going to hurt anyone, it may as well be me, Amber Cross, heroine of justice. I will not run from you. I will stand, and absorb your worries as you wish.”
The woman's words echoed across the clearing, sealing the girl's decision. From the stance the woman carried herself, to the charms she held in one hand, told the girl all she needed to know. Yori wanted this fight, regardless of whatever pain and agony it brought both parties. Nodding once at Yori's resolve, the small girl closed her hazel eyes. When they opened again, green crossed their depths for a split moment. Sliding her feet through the dirt, creating a visible line beneath her, the girl thrust her fists out in front of her. Green lightning began crackling outwards, as the girl pushed her body and mind to the limits. The emerald crystals lined throughout her armor glowed vividly from the overflow of energy, creating a bright green nova that seemed to grow brighter by the second. She could feel the power growing throughout her body; it was spiking, gaining strength as she channeled more energy into her limbs. In order to activate the skill, you need to channel all of your energy and soul into your core. Focus on pushing everything to its utmost, and then beyond. The first time will be the hardest, and after that you'll know the price and pain it comes with. I don't know what you meant by pain and price, Papa. It is just bringing me more power, and I'm sure it can go even further! With that thought, the girl continued pushing more energy into her heart and core. The crystal organ continued consuming the energy and pushing power throughout her suit and body. When the green energy became white, the light vanished as all of the crystals shattered in unison. The green energy vanished, as the lines of green within her suit shifted shades, to something far darker. A crimson, almost blood-like, light began flowing our from the center of her chest, where her heart had been. Her attempts to bite back her shock and agony were lost, as a piercing scream tore through her mouth. Every nerve, every inch of her body sent piercing pain back into her mind; the pain of the previous attack had been forgotten, a mere bump in comparison to to the agonizing torment that stabbed at her entire being. Falling to her knees, the girl slammed her palms into the ground and grabbed at the earth, anything to ease the burning agony coursing through her entire body. The earth shattered in two craters around both of her gauntlets, sending dust pluming into the heavens from each impact. The crystals were gone, replaced by lines of red that seemed to beat the same way a heart did. “Why...why does it hurt so much? Is this the pain of a hero? Or is it the suffering of a villain?” Her voice was soft, as her entire body trembled from the pain of her own ability. Her own thoughts were a blur, as her ideals, past, present, and goals faded in the agony that beset her own all levels. Slowly rising to her feet, the girl's gaze fell on Yori. There was no sorrow, no pride, no anger in that gaze. Only pain and, somewhere far beyond that, a psyche that was rapidly breaking. Her eyes, previously hazel, were now a brownish-red, to mirror the red that lined her entire body. Her gauntlets, which had been square gloves lined with emerald crystal, had taken on a claw-like resemblance, with red lining the joints and engines. Finally smiling, the girl dropped into a crouching position. “ If I kill her, the pain will go away?” With that simple question, the fight resumed. The ground shattered, a boom echoing through the wasteland. Plumes of dirt exploded on all sides of Yori, as Amber shot around on all sides. The girl finally exploded out of the wall of dust, aiming a clawed gauntlet towards the woman's side. The engines within the fist were active, increasing the strength of the strike. As the gauntlet shot towards her side, it would be clear something was off if the tall woman was paying attention. Amber's other fist was held close to her side, out of sight. A single, audible crack pierced the ground, before the hidden gauntlet shot out of the earth, aimed for the woman's chin and face. All the fingers were angled forward, with the intent to pierce. As the gauntlet arced through the air, Amber retracted her fist and wove under her first attack, angling another punch towards the woman's stomach. Regardless if either punch hit its target or not, the girl would yank away and twist her entire body sideways, driving both of her boots into a dropkick that would level the nearby cliff if Yori dodged; should it hit, it would do untold amounts of damage.
