Aurora stumbled back as Yanwang pulled upon her, a cobweb of cracks covering the pillar and originating from where her fingers had been touching it. Around them their world howled and raged as jagged ripples flowed along the walls of ice and the blizzard above descended, swirling around them. Even the snow beneath their feet seemed to move in something akin to rage, clumping and shaking and blowing over the duo. All the while the beat of the pillar, sounding much like a heart, shook the mountain around them. It vibrated their world, power waving off of it and- and- and into Aurora? Blue essence felowed from the cracks, wafting through the air and seeking her out like tendrils of light. Even raising her hand to stop it did nothing, as it simply floated through and into her chest. The arcosian found herself picked up, floating in the middle of the winter storm as her eyes and mouth began to glow an icy blue. The thrum of the pillar, the heart she realised, only increased in power and strength even as the last of the blue light left it and entered her. The beat shook their very world, rattling the duo, before all of a sudden that same blue light emanated from the cracks within the pillar, before the disappeared and along with them so did the magic.
The beating stopped, the blizzard returned to swirling above the duo whilst the floor and walls smoothed out once more. As for Aurora herself, she dropped to the ground like a puppet with its strings cut, chest heaving and mouth gaping as she gasped for... for... she wasn't sure. That moment had been terrifying. She had been utterly helpless before the power of the pillar, of the mountain, and that alone had sent flashbacks of the attack upon Arcose running through her mind, which had decidedly not helped. Sitting up silently, she grasps at her chest. There was something... something wrong. Or... not wrong, but something new? She could feel it, running through her veins, through her mind, in her stomach and in her heart. It settled there like a white hot energy, not unlike the burn she felt when using Ki. But what was it? Perhaps Yanwang might kn- Yanwang! The arcosian glances about with panic, looking for the ogre. While he was beyond more powerful than her, he was still a child. She very well couldn't afford to let him get hurt because of- because of her mistake!
Fortunately, she found him quickly enough and raced over the few metres towards him, arm reaching out. "Are you oka-" Aurora starts, before her red eyes widen at the sight before her. The arm that had reached out... the cave had seemingly reacted to it. All around them it had shifted, once again shuddering as ice, snow and wind all directed them selves towards Yanwang. Although this time it was seemingly a lot more friendly, the snow swirling happily around his feet. What was more shocking to the Arcosian, however, was the small ball of ice that had materialised in the palm of her hand when she reached out towards him. Perfectly spherical and smooth, she... felt the string connecting them. The drain on her body. It didn't take a genius to guess what had happened there.
"Huh. That's.. odd. Are you okay?"

Yanwang looked towards Aurora as he pulled as hard as he could yet she was being pulled up. "Yeee." This was pretty strong as his hair stood up and his body grew. His teeth grew sharper as he powered up just a bit more. He didn't have the time to power up to the max. Yet he still let go as she was pulled up. "Dangit." Yanwang should have powered up sooner than he could have fully yanked her out. Guess there really was a powerful form of magic here. Well as long as she was ok then he didn't need to worry. Yanwang stood their watching Aurora as whatever was going on when on. She seemed to be in a lot of pain but there was not a lot Yanwang could do about it. All he could do was wait. Yanwang looked at the snow that formed around Aurora. She seemed to be somewhat ok now. There was a lot of magic swirling around Aurora though. Guess she found out some sort of magic from coming to this place. Aurora asked him if he was ok. Yanwang grinned. "I am fine as long as you are ok then I got nothing to worry about." Ok so maybe he was a bit cold but that was not really a big deal.

Oh thank all the heavens that he was okay. Aurora wasn't entirely sure what she would have done if she had actually managed to accidentally hurt Yanwang, aside from freak out that she had wounded something so powerful and hope he wasn't the vindictive type. Children often could surprise you, after all. The thrum of the pillar in the centre of the room seemed to increase with her emotions, the power of it intensifying and shaking the room around them slightly. Even now, it reminded Aurora of something akin to a heartbeat. The pulsing centre of Mt. Frappe, its in built magic that covered the entirety of the mountain. "Mountain's Heart..." She murmurs aloud, giving it a (rather obvious) name. After all, it seemed that they had been the first two to find the room in possibly ever, and because of that she felt that they deserved the ability to name it. Then again.. she should probably include Yanwang in that process.
Turning away from the pillar and towards the ogre, she felt the question on her lips die as she took him in once more. There was... he had changed, at some point. She hadn't recognised it earlier, if that had been when he did it, but as the Ogre stood up she was surprised to find that he was nearer to her height that he had been previously, with seemingly longer and vertical hair, coupled with more matured features and, she noticed as he talked, longer teeth to go with them too. A frown crosses her face as she takes in the transformation. How strange it was, that no matter what seeming dimension that beings came from, they all had access to some form of ascendancy or another. It was... almost worth investigating, and if she had the time on her hands she was sure she might have considered it. As it was, however... "What do you think?" She asks, gesturing towards the thrumming pillar. "Mountain's Heart. It suits, no?"

Yanwang titled his head as Aurora said the words Moutains Heart. What was she saying? Yanwang was honestly really confused about what she was saying. Maybe something really hard ah happened to her. Guess she had changed because of what happened with the stone. Then she turned to him and explained what she actually meant. She was trying to give a name to this giant crystal in the middle of the mountain. Guess that made some sense but he was unsure if he liked it. "If you want to call it that then it should be fine. You were the one to find the crystal. I am ok with that but it seems really simple and bland? You know there really must be a more cool name out there." Yanwang rubbed his head in thought. He could not think of any good names for the mountain heart or whatever! No now he was calling it that!. Yanwang facepalmed. "Actually..it might be just fine." With no thought of another name then he was not going to try to stop her naming her prize.

Aurora chucked to herself at Yanwang's antics as she looks around at the cave around them. Now that things had calmed down and the ogre was confirmed to be okay, she was... beginning to feel something. A sort of connection to the room around them. It was... well, it was hard to describe, but it felt like something was constantly callling to her? Or a small tug, like the... like the ones Auron used to give her when he wanted something. The Arcosian swallowed at the memory of that, the face of her little brother only bringing pain with it from where it had brought... well, anything else. Her breath shudders, but she didn't pride herself upon her self control for nothing and the momentary lapse was gone as soon as it had appeared. The memory was locked away once more, and her smile returns to her face as she looks down towards Yanwang.
"I think it's a good name." She smiles at him, raising a hand as the cave moves in response. "This place is... alive. And i'm willing to bet the source of the bizzard, although i'm... not too sure about what it was about women that triggered the blizzard. Perhaps it was a sort of test? Where only women are allowed to wield its power or something to that effect?" She was half talking to herself at this point, although she did feel she wanted Yanwang's opinion on this. The Ogre obviously knew more about magic than she did, after all. "This world does have tales about... what were they? A form of snow demon, or something. They only ever came as women. Perhaps they were simply also those who had access to this room." She mumbles, only half recalling what she had read in the few mythology books she had gathered in order to try and glean information from the ancient stories. Looking around, she couldn't really imagine other people having made their way through the blizzard, especially not earthlings, weak as they were.
"Either way, I doubt we'll be getting anymore answers." She murmurs, looking back in the direction of the way they came. "This venture has already been far more successful than I could have hoped, even though it means i have far more of a journey ahead of me." She would need to do her best to try and learn this new power, to let it augment her prowess and elevate herself to an even greater level. Perhaps one day she might reach the same power that Yanwang had, although... a mere glance told her that that particular day was far off. "It seems that our time together is coming to an end now." She... wasn't sure what to say to the extraordinarily powerful child before her, although she did make sure to smile at him. "I wish you good fortune on Arcose. Is there... is there a way we could contact each other?" The Ogre was very powerful, and quite agreeable after all. He would make a powerful Ally, and she hoped to further the relationship so that when the time came she may be able to call upon him.

Aurora seemed to confirm to herself that she really liked the name. While she prob needed more style with naming Yanwang just shrugged. "You did find it. So guess i'll make sure to tell everyone I meet what it is called." Aurora then gave her thoughts on what was going on. She was assuming that it was a test and that only women could have the power. "Seems a bit sexist to me. I think maybe it was just a ghost or someone out there with a lot of strength. Prob put their will into these mountains. For whatever reason, they had something for or agiasnt women. I've heard that people who got a lot to do still can keep their will going. But I mean that gives me the question of who or what had the will to do this." Yanwang sighed. He really needed to get a ghost hunting manual to answer all these questions. He had a lot of studying to do and this just proved it.
Aurora then made the good point that they were not going to get many answers here. Yanwang had to agree there was not going to be much found around here. He did not have the ability to really sense for ghosts or any other powerful presence that might have caused this. It seemed it was the end of their adventure though. They had found everything that could be found in this place. "Well glad I was able to help you. Hopefully, you're able to revive your family and Arosce can be taken back from the bad people." Yanwang grinned. Then Yanwang leaped into the air above breaking through the ice with his head. He had a lot of work to do so no time to waste. Hopefully, the two of them would meet again.

Auroa giggled a little bit at Yanwang's comment about the power being potentially sexist, the idea that such an ancient and powerful enchantment could have been motivated into existence by such impure motives somehow managing to tickle her humour just right. "Yes, I suppose you would be correct about that. It is rather sexist, although that does raise the question of why the blizzard only appeared for a female." She smiles at him, a momentary lapse in her usual mask of careful thought and stern disapproval. For now she was also going to elect to ignore the comment about ghosts, although obviously not completely forgetting the information. There had been only a small spark of surprise when the young ogre had mentioned ghosts in such a blase manner, but if ogres existed she supposed it was no wonder that there may have been other denizens of the afterlife that weren't just them. She wondered what the relationship between the two were, if the political landscape of the afterlife reflected anything in the mortal realm, but the Arcosian quickly shut down that particular line of thinking. Right now, she had to stay in the... well, the now. "I suppose that whoever did this then... they had a special connection to this mountain." She half whispers, a feeling of connection stirring inside her to someone she didn't even know.
"And I myself am happy to have met you, Yanwang." Aurora says in return to the Ogre, smiling a small smile towards the child. She was now certain that he couldn't be very old, despite a surprising amount of maturity for someone of the age she suspected. "And thank you, I... Wish you luck, in whatever you yourself are trying to achieve. Just remember our promise, okay?" She nods towards him, but instead of a reply the Arcosian was greeted with his form blurring and a titanic smash sound echoing out throughout the cavern as Yanwang... headbutts his way to the surface. Through the mountain. Aurora's eyes widened as she stared at where he had been only moment's prior, stock still as small bits of debris rained down upon her head before the Arcosian cranes her neck to look upwards. A hole, roughly Yanwang shaped, looked back at her, a glow at the very end signalling that he had in fact burst through the entirety of the mountain. With his head. That was an almost scary amount of strength right there. But... on the bright side, she wouldn't have to go through the tunnel to re visit the Mountain's Heart? A sigh leaves Aurora as she then turns around, reaching a hand out to rest lightly upon the pillar. It seemed she had even more work to do ahead of her.
It was time to get started.
End of thread!
