Intern: Zhida
Appearance
Karon is a tall, lanky blue ogre with a single horn on top of his head amid a mop of darker blue hair. In Otherworld, he keeps his grey suit pressed and buttoned just so, with his white tiger print tie in place, his hair neatly combed, and his horn well polished. Just as King Yemma expects of the ogres under his employ. When afield in the land of the living, however, he’s a different story. The tie is nowhere to be seen, his suit sits rumpled over his slouched form, and his hair doesn’t look like it’s seen a comb in days. No matter where he is, his face always holds the same dull, tired expression, like he can’t be bothered to care about whatever is happening in front of him.
History
Karon has spent all of his existence, as long as he could remember, under the employ of King Yemma in Otherworld. He began as a lowly paper-pushing ogre, processing the files of the dead that passed through the gates, and making sure everything was in order. It was boring work, but such was his lot in life. Many of the deceased he had to deal with were warriors of some sort and, despite them obviously being losing warriors, being dead and all, they intrigued him. The tales of their final battles brought some excitement to his monotonous job. They inspired him to take up combat himself, in his free time, just as a hobby. He sparred with whatever fallen warriors would agree to fight him, in Heaven or Hell, it didn't matter to Karon. The exercise was welcome after sitting behind a desk for so long.
As time went on, he moved up the ladder of Yemma’s employees, all the while training in whatever free time he could find. He got decently skilled over the years, particularly with sword fighting. Eventually, his skills with a blade were recognized, and he was promoted. Karon was to become a field agent, one that hunted down spirits that had escaped to the mortal realm and return them to Otherworld. By force, if necessary. It seemed like the perfect job, at first.
Truthfully, most of the escaped ghosts didn't put up much of a fight. They flew around and shrieked, sure, but with a couple sword-slashes, they were sent right back to where they belonged. Karon longed for a good fight, like the ones he used to have, but field work left him with very little free time nowadays. Maybe he'd run into a worthy opponent, somewhere. For now, he simply had to continue on with the job assigned to him.
