The attack did not come as strong as the Duke had hoped. Still, that it had withstood the power of Dosu's backbreaker was enough for him to feel some vague sense of accomplishment. It had been his strongest Epitaph yet, and the next one would be orders of magnitude stronger! From his own part, at least - it all hinged on him pulling a little stunt not dissimilar from what his opponent had just attempted... Clever man, this one. A worthy opponent. As the Epitaph went on to rend the earth and skies its wielder took the chance to assess the situation. The heran had spoken clearly - truthfully - and in full sentences, no less. This left the saiyan wondering, had he come to master this form or was his energy waning? Exhaustion did wonders to one's fury, and in this case, cackling. His eyes narrowed, his focus returning to the heran... ch-charging at the center of the orb? Was he mad!? Either that or brave, a stupid man would have long perished, his head bent over and his knees buckled, in admittance of utter and complete defeat. Good thing that Kalabas had spited this one enough. Less good, however, was the confidence with which this monster battled and endured a power capable of blowing up a planet. What was his plan, exactly? Turns out, the heran had no plan, Kalabas even thought that he had been bested for a second, but he kept looking. Through the soothy fog brought by the fighters, in the silence that always came before the tipping point of a battle, the saiyan stared back at two malicious yellow eyes, the rest of him revealed by that loathing red aura. His words would have gotten a laugh out of the saiyan if only it weren't for this deep-seated excitement he felt churning from his core to his head. Visibility was poor. There was heavy rain and dark fog, the warmth of the fissures shook the air, the glass shards all over reflected the light of lightnings so that it was made blinding, it was a spectacle of darkness and light that got the saiyan a moment to adjust. That moment proved enough for Dosu. Glinting shards dug into the back of the ghost's vambrace down to his hand "Ghrk-" he had his ki signature now! Kalabas turned, launching his open palm at the mouth beam "No wonder you fight like a maniac!" seizing the spearpoint of the attack, the saiyan grinned "Stargoon, are you? I fought one of your number back on Namek, although she might have been before your time. Chamil, the demon shegoat!" blood leaked down his wrist, falling down to his elbow, dripping down the chasm that tore itself between the ghost's legs "You are giving me far more trouble than she ever did. Kudos." he admitted, pushing back the beam with a ball of ki, from which fired a flaming lance of energy. Kalabas fires [UA2] Ultra Execution Beam (PL: 2,280,000)! KP: 1,504,800 KP: 2/7

Post by General Kraktus on Dec 4, 2019 12:08:35 GMT -6
Kraktus sat the helm of his ship sipping from a cup of water. Kraktus had to scan the planet for dragonballs using his radar combined his ship to go around the planet to try to find anyone who had dragonballs. So far he had only found Carro having the dragonballs. No way he was going to fight him, Carro was monstrously strong as pained as that was to admit. On the other hand, Dosu also had a Dragonball last time he saw him. While he was more than willing to steal a Dragonball from him he'd lose his chance with the stargoons. He needed their force to keep his plans in motion so he was stuck. Yet today he scanned an area finding Dosu ball once more, but this time trouble was brewing.
Kraktus checked his scouter as he picked up two powers in the area. Both of them could not be Dosu! They were too strong. Kraktus rubbed his chin in thought. "Hmp...did someone steals the ball?" Kraktus was unsure or maybe Dosu had a new combat power. He was a hera warrior and he had heard of a legend among there people like a super saiyan. He had met enough Hera mercenary in the WTF to know no one had ever had that type of power but why not Dosu. Nearing the end of his life and back to a corner? Who was to say that he cannot reach a new level of power. Yet, another question arose for him which was who was the one fighting him. Whoever it was there was a lot of power being thrown around. He'd turn the wheel heading to the battlefield with his stealth feature active.
Kraktus arrived on the battlefield his ship reaveling itself in a clash. The massive cruiser covered part of the battlefield in shadow. Kraktus looked down with contempt. He could confirm that one of them was Dosu but the other was someone he loathed. Kalabas the ghost saiyan. He was a pain in his side and someone he had wanted to pay back. He had been forced to flee from the general once and another encountered ended early. Now he was trying to kill one of his men. That could not be allowed to happen. It was his job to decide the fate of Dosu. Today was not his day to die. Kraktus ship opened up and he floated towards the battlefield. Kraktus landed looking at Kalabas fired off a powerful beam at Dosu. He wondered if he should step in but he just decided to test Dosu. If the attack killed him the opps but at least he could have Dosu Dragonball and then Kill Kalabas. "You!" He'd roared at Kalabas. "That is one of my men. Don't you dare kill him. I will be taking any dragonballs you own as well as payment for making me come out here. Or I can take your life whatever suits you!" Kraktus called out to the ghastly saiyan ready for him to run off like a coward.

|The Killer's High| Dosu's PL: 1'840'000/1'495'000 (x16/x13)
He had only heard of Chamil in stories from Mumbo but even so, in that particular moment, he did not recall the name, nor did he care. Hellbent on destroying everything in his path along with the ghost, the Heran in all his primal rage was chaining attacks in a brutal and unpredictable way. Mix-ups of all kinds, the Stargoon was not even thinking before attacking. He was letting loose his second nature, reflexes, and impulses dictating his moves. While it would make many other opponents unstable and on the defensive, Kalabas seemed able to acclimate himself to this new battle cadence.
The beam quickly pierced through his beam, almost catching him off-guard. He could only brace himself and slightly tilt his head to the side before taking the spear straight to the face, the right side of it to be precise. He stumbled, took a few steps back, his face facing upwards. He almost appeared as if he was about to lose balance but managed to steady his posture. As his head returned to its normal position, the ghost could see that his spear had really found its target. The flesh on the right side of the Heran’s face had turned into an undecipherable mess, strips of flesh hanging from his cheek and forehead. Thick and viscous red blood dripped from the carnage, where ki a darker shade of red seeped out, the phenomenon also present on the rest of the Heran’s body where it had been wounded. In the middle of that carnage, the yellow pupil somehow still intact had this particular glint, like a newfound madness of its own.
Immediately after, he noticed the spaceship in the sky. He vaguely recognized it but his first immediate reaction was the fire a beam of ki at it, as one would with an annoying pest nearby. Sadly, in this transformed state, Dosu had no moral compass and his brain, inebriated with this raw and addictive power could not recall the concept of friend and foe. It could only attack, no matter who he was facing.
"Say, ghost. Can you handle the heat?"
His attention was still on the ghost, however, not letting his wound affect him, the disfigured fighter took hold of his ghostly opponent and attempted to drag him down in the fiery sea of molten rocks below. If successful, there he would find the heat of the lava eating at his open wounds, giving a sizzling feeling that was somewhat bearable. However, as the heat slowly crept up, so did the discomfort. Still, in that blazing pool, he’d try to launch a few good strikes at Kalabas, try to forcefully open his mouth with a kick to the stomach aimed at pushing him down further before getting out himself. Once outside, a surge of ki made his aura flare up, dislodging what lava was left on his skin.
Looking in the direction of Kraktus, he said:
“What are you doing here?”
The expression on his face didn’t exactly match his words, though. It wasn’t the sight of someone greeting their boss with respect, but more like a madman about to strike. Dilated pupils, spasms coursing through his body and a terribly large, wicked smile.

Brilliant! By seizing the attack and distracting with almost polite idle talk, the saiyan had caught his enemy unawares! Still, the heran had his reflexes, saving himself from a torrid beheading by lashing his neck the side. Rather than killed he was horrifically disfigured, with raw flesh shining wet against crisp, singed skin, a mark of the ghost's handiwork now burnt into his memory with pride. Perhaps Kalabas would have felt slight sympathy for the old devil, having faced similar defacement in life, but he had yet to feel that his enucleation had been paid back in full. Maybe the other side would follow, perhaps with a brand of his palm? Amusing as the thought was, something caught the warrior's attention. A ship, of familiar design, a the worst possible design, a Fleet design. He launched a blast at it, to test its shields, but found his attack flanked by Dosu's. He was confused for a second, were the Stargoons not under WTF employ? No, they were mercenaries, not a special squadron like the Crimson Apes were to the Kingdom... or so he thought. Franchising was one of the Fleet's strengths, so he was ultimately unsure, yet not terribly concerned. And out came the octopod cavalry, its sight as pleasing to the Duke as that of his own spilling intestines. General Kraktus, returned from whatever nightmarish lunacy had taken his fancy, gurgling threats the like of which Kalabas found rather anticlimactic. Was he truly allowing his opponent, Kalabas Strongbone, silver tongue extraordinaire, to riposte? "Alas, if the great and mighty General Kraktus commands my surrender, whatever am I to do if not surrender! Would you like a back massage too? Poor fool, did Kayen cleave your brain alongside the shave she gave you back on Arcose? Why, tentaclehead, perhaps you would grasp this situation better if only I instead spoke in monosyllables! Let us start - mourn your reign, foul squid, high as you may now stand not once were you of any less worth! Will you look at that, comes with some added lyricism, but now I fear that I may have spoken words beyond your understanding! Things like reign, worth, perhaps you were even befuddled by a concept as simple as stand, but I can only lower myself to the level of some beasts, and not the trail of mucus that would have still had you bested in a dialectic symposium! Would a rhyming scheme have you rapt, then? A ballade or a terza rima? Although a couplet might be more up your speed. Yemma knows just how poor read you zoonamites are. Why, you look the sort to gaze upon a phonebook and in it see a narrative! To the devil with you, squid, I say! To the devil with you, the Fleet, and the ship you rode in! In fact-" taken away by his own words, quite visibly lost in the fun of the nonsense, the saiyan ghost did not even take in the heran's threat. No sooner had his fist inflame with psychedelic might, he was tackled into lava. Kalabas had wondered for the longest time if he was powerful enough to take a dive in a volcano, and the answer, much to his surprise, was not given to him yet. Instinct drove him to become intangible, pretend to be in Dosu's trap, and disappear into the bubbling depths. Slowly, his power level decreased, faded, snuffed from this world and returned to the next. Kalabas uses [ UT1 | UT2 ] Cloak and Dagger to reduce his power level to 1! But of course, it was all a ruse. Ironically, it was in the incomprehensibly warm and seeping core of the planet that he cooled his head. Perhaps he should escape, regroup with Cress and Vocado? Not without first making sense of the situation. Mad men made for poor underlings, and worse commanders, perhaps something would happen upstairs that he could exploit. Funny, he almost had to remind himself that he could not die, or not for long anyway. It was in his own interest not to do that, however. Challenging as this coming fight promised to be, he very much had important business that would not wait long for his revival... Bastards.

Krkatus eyed Kalabas as he decided not to run away. Instead, he began to speak in a rhyming matter with what Kraktus assumed was an attempt to make him mad. While he did like monologues right now he just didn't care. Kraktus put his hand on his chin and nodded along with Kalabas words. "Mhm yes...yah got it. So what your saying is, "Please Kraktus kill me. Use all your power and end my life." That is correct yes?" Kraktus playfully grinned. Kraktus really didn't care to talk today, he was here to get Dosu in and out. If he came and Dosu died then the stargoons would be pissed. He'd look like an incompetent fool. Kraktus then eyed Dosu who seemed to have no idea who he was. Guess he really lost his mind. "Bravo for all your power please don't kill yourself just yet though. Kalabas is strong to be careful." Kraktus warned which of course Dosu had already tackled the man into some lava.
Kraktus sighed as he checked his scouter. "Hmmm." Kraktus was surprised to see that Kalabas power had faded away. What the hell was going on? Kalabas's should not have died so easily. Kraktus was unsure what to think. He could not be sure Kalabas was dead but there was no way to confirm. If he was dead then that would mean Dosu had done a lot better then he expected. Maybe Dosu had even more power than his scouter had not picked up. "Seems we're done here. As for what I'm doing here is that I was looking for dragonballs and I picked up yours again. Seeing as you were in a fight I came to help. As your employer part of my job is to make sure you and your goods don't end up dead. That would not due at all." Kraktus crossed his arms but remained on high alert just in case Kalabas was still alive or Dosu decided to attack him.

It took time for the ghost to come back from the lava pit. Dead again, so soon? The Heran didn’t believe it one bit. His instincts urged him to get back in there to find him and perhaps this is what he would’ve done if not for Kraktus being there. As such, his focus shifted from Kalabas directly to his superior. He recognized him, but at this point in time, social conventions and status were meaningless to him. He wanted to fight and destroy, as simple as that. Be it a real enemy or an ally, that didn’t matter.
As he prepared himself to lunge at the Zoonamite, steam started seeping out of his body. His time was almost up. Obviously, his body could barely withstand his normal power, so this level was far too taxing on his body. He could feel his strength vanishing in an instant, but could only do so much as to curse this situation. He dropped to his knee in front of his superior, helpless. His adrenaline allowed him to keep up and go far beyond what he’d normally be able to do, but since the imminent threat had subsided, his senses were not as much in alert and the pain from his wounds came crashing on him. He had trouble breathing, was shook by short seizures as his body regained its normal teal color, the red from his hair and beard returning to an orange color. Still in-between the two forms, his eyes retained their black scelra and yellow irises.
“Shit…My time’s up…”
Perhaps Kraktus had came in clutch to rescue him, after all. As his form changed, his thoughts reverted to what they originally were. Strangely, he thought of them as more fake than the ones he had in his transformed state, as if he had attained some sort of clarity that was out of reach in his base form. Was he the only one out of the loop? Or perhaps only he could see that truth beyond the red veil of destruction. He was confused, but couldn’t focus on that too much as his body was in a dire situation. He was somewhat happy, though. That seemingly pointless confrontation had awakened that part of him and he felt somewhat thankful to Kalabas for that. He was the much needed catalyst for him to let loose once more and it proved a boon rather than a bane, although it did come with some drawbacks. He looked up to Kraktus and managed to say the following.
“I…don’t remember much of what happened, but we expended a lot of energy…He has to be at least somewhat tired too. I don’t know if I damaged him or not…I leave it to you.”
Unable to fight, he was only able to try and get his breathing under control and perhaps acclimate himself to the pain he was suffering. Badly injured, there was no way he could transform again, even if he wanted to.

Nineteen saibamen...
Twenty saibamen...Hm... There was no great disturbance in the ki flow yet. What could this mean? Twenty-one saibamen...
Surely, Kalabas' ki sense was well-tuned enough to tell apart the attacks from the attackers, but all of it seemed to almost blur together. As if they had not made moves on the other yet. Unless... No, even bearing the thought was ridiculous, warriors of such high caliber and low instincts could not simply be at peace. Like a snackian leashed to a blubblerbeast, one would end up mauling the other. All the Duke needed to do was wait and jump on whichever was set to take the ball. Twenty-two... Twenty-three? Perhaps, twenty-four.Kalabas sighed. Counting saibamen was a bit childish, but it did pass time well enough. Some humans counted the same river time and time again and that, in his humble opinion, was just silly. Was it more silly was existing ethereally in a fluid tomb of lava, however? Perhaps, perhaps not, but the ghost's mind was just wandering now, which would simply would not do at a time like this. He focused back on the affairs above, just in time to feel a sharp decrease of the Heran's power. He nearly bolted back to the surface, but remained still. All-powerful as he thought himself to be, Kraktus lacked the raw strength to best that chartreuse devil so swiftly. Kalabas' guess was that the heran had powered down on his own, a sign that he at least trusted his supposed superior. An intriguing thought. Could this mark the return of the Fleet? Then he remembered, the squidman was every bit as deluded and aimless as the Stargoon. A Stargoon, the ghost admitted, that had just become dozens of times more powerful because the saiyan ached for a fight... Of all the stupid... And the saibamen... He lost count of the saibamen... And those FOOLS were still not killing each other! "----!!" he shouted, muffled by the ocean of lava in and around him "--- -- -------!" Yet, was he truly to blame? Yes, he was!
Fifty. They were fifty now. It was decided. Fifty little green saibaman he wished to have at hand so he could snap their little green necks so he could then move on to the big green one and drink his fear as the his tendons laced around metaphysical knuckles and... And nothing. He wasn't even green anymore. The heran was blue, and less big, which made his neck all the more snappy. Still, Kalabas reeled back this anger he felt burning hotter than even the magma around him. He was more than a match for either fleetman, but together they had the clear advantage. Kalabas wanted them poised against the other, but with no signs of that... He was wasting his time here.
"------- -- -------." he muttered as he began swimming further away from signatures. He nodded at his own wisdom, lolligo ex machina indeed... Hm, perhaps machina truly was the solution to all of this. The animus was willing, but with no corpus to act upon... chalybs would have to take its place. Then, he'd have his way. No more magic, ghosts and esoteric nonsense! Logic, reason, they were all bound by the laws of the concrete! To life, he thought, to life! But... who should he trust to construct him such a vessel?

Kraktus looked at Dosu has transformed back into his base form. Guess he used all his energy when he was fighting Kalabas. "Hmm that is good you aren't dead from exerting that much power. The first time with the level of power we have can be shocking." Kraktus grinned lightly. When Dosu made a note that he used all his energy and if he had done anything to him. Kraktus nodded. "He is gone now. You dunked him into the lava it seems like it killed him. My scouter can't pick up anything. Yet, he is a ghost so he has said that he can come back. Either way, I'd expect him to return to fight you once more. Guard your Dragonball we are going to need it. Whether it is to restore you to your youth or another purpose we need to make sure we are ready." Kraktus would grab Dosu. "I am going to take you on my ship. Just in case Kalabas is on there I won't allow him to hunt you." Kraktus eyed the lava agian wondering if Kalabas gone. He'd then flew up attempting to take Dosu to his ship and leave the battlefield with the hera warrior.

Phasing in and out of consciousness, the Heran couldn’t do much at this point. Both his opponent and his transformation had rendered him useless and if not for the help of Kraktus, he would have eventually lost his life. Whether or not Kalabas was here still was not something he could help with at this point. The only certainty was that he still had his Dragon Ball in hand and managed to escape death once again. Was it the better outcome, however? His condition could only worsen after that fight, there was no doubt about it. Maybe he could go back on his word and ask for help. Would they agree to help him with that? Was it too late? Questions for later.
OOC: Short post, not much time tonight!
