The Flying Nimbus is a vanity LTO item that's available for 20k xp. It serves no mechanical purpose but still counts towards Malus. Personally, I feel this stops a few people from getting the item who otherwise would. I don't see why an item that serves no mechanical purpose should count towards SMM or even LMB.

If the flying nimbus were to not count towards malus, it would not be a tradable or sellable item.

Thoughts?

I think it's the 20k cost for a flavored flying cloud that stops people from getting it, not the counting towards lmb or malus
