Xanather's night was a peaceful one, his meditations doing much to help clam his mind before the long journey. His inner turmoil about leaving the village when their was so few of them left pained him but he knew if he stayed he would never be able to forgive himself. His brothers words at seeking further training made sense as only one of his race had even stood a chance in the battle with the invaders and they had to be ready for the next time. He knew it was only a matter of time before they came again to seek the dragon balls that where for his people by right and by their creation. He would not hide again form the battle to weak to do anything while others fought in his place. Grunting as he finally stood up after hours of meditation, his sore muscles protesting the sudden movement of his limbs. Walking outside he move to the center of the ruined village, the small memorial in the middle was a painful reminder on those they had lost.
"......Ill make sure their is not a next time for our people I swear it....On the honor of my father"
He all but whispered as he moved his hands across the names etched in the stone, each one making the pain in his chest grow with each name he read. Lethil a kind boy who despite being one of the people wanted to venture out to other worlds to heal their sick and wounded. He had even thought to create dragon balls for them so they would not fight over his and while it was certain the elder would never had allowed it the dream was without a doubt one filled with innocence. Moving over he saw Balia's name next and this one pained him deeply, as the stoic man had lead the invader way form where him and his brother had been hiding. Balia had always been one to do the right thing at any cost, it was a trait he envied growing up and even at the mans final moments he never stopped doing just that. Their were others but the memories were growing to painful as he turned away unable to face the pain any longer, his failure weighing more heavily on his shoulders. Slowly he made it to the elders house and entered after a soft knock.
"Hello Masie..sorry Elder Masie. It must be hard on you as well I take it to suddenly become the elder I take it? I know our village is hurting now but I thought you should know that I will be leaving to seek further training. My brother will be coming with me so we will be leaving shortly."
He announced before the new elder just nodded knowing he could not stop him, the man probably knew they would not stay for long even if the convinced them to wait. The first battles had troubled them greatly and only with great effort had the previous elder convinced them to stay all. He knew this time there would be no talking them down and a small part of him wanted to join them as well. He was barely older then they where and had also lived though the carnage of those attacks but he knew his purpose was here trying to heal this village. They would leave but they would have his blessing for all that it mattered, his head turning down so he did not have to watch the young man leave. His only words echoing though the building just moments before the door closed.
"Don't let you and your brother become monsters Xanathar..."
Xander barely heard the words as he nodded, his stride unbroken as he made his way to his brother. He knew the man much like him was trying to make sense of it all and was often found in the healers hut. But as of late he found his brother alone away form the village more and more till one night he had come to him. His words echoed his own thoughts as he planned to grow stronger and seek training under the guru of Namak. This time they would make sure everyone was safe form the aliens at any cost he swore, his brothers rage made the case all the more convincing but a small part worried for his brother. The elders words coming back to haunt him as finally saw him brooding just out side the village.
"I have already informed the elder of our departure and got his blessing. It is time we left to seek further training as you suggested"
