It had taken a while to get here. But after all of that walking and adventuring around the world, he finally made it to the lookout. Well, he hadn't exactly made it to the lookout yet. He had one last challenge. Climbing up Nashi's tower and getting onto the lookout. " Alright! I guess this all worked out pretty well. Just gotta meet up with Nashi on the way up and go ask Chime how I can help find the Dragon Balls!" Yogu didn't delay, jumping up onto the tower and slowly scooting his way up to the top. " This isn't gonna take too long... I mean, I've already done this before so doing it again should be way easier!" It seemed like Yogu had forgotten just how much trouble he had with climbing up the tower last time. The journey up certainly wasn't any easier than last time. As Yogu continued to struggle his way up the pillar, he kept thinking of Nashi. The problem with the whole "retiring yourself to an endless afterlife of solitude atop a mountain" thing was that you couldn't see your friends! The two had been through a whole lot together, and Yogu kind of just... Abandoned him. In Yogu's eyes, he had been acting like a terrible friend to Nashi. " But I'm gonna make it up to him, damn it! We'll go on that Dragon Ball hunt together, and even if we don't end up reviving me with 'em I'm sure we'll find some good use for them." After another hour or two of struggling, he finally made it to the top tower. " HEY NASHI! GUESS WHO?!" Yogu pulled himself over the edge and was fully expecting Nashi to be there. Sitting down, playing video games. Or maybe drinking some tea or writing poetry, or something like that. He tended to do boring things like that. But he wasn't there! " Huh... I was guessin' he'd be around here... YO! NASHI! YOU AROUND HERE?!" Yogu was met with silence. Peering over the ledge of the tower and looking up, he could see the faintly see the lookout up in the sky. " Alright... Guess I'm gonna have to fly up there. Maybe he's up there hangin' out with Chime and everyone else there." Yogu took to the skies and within a matter of minutes, he had finally completed his journey. He was on the lookout! " Man, I missed flying... It really is WAYYYY easier than just walking." Yogu looked at his surroundings. The last time he had been there was when Monster had attacked the place. All things considered, it really looked quite a bit better since then. " YO! ANYONE HERE?! CHIME?! NASHI?! HELLOOOOOOO!"

Chime's PL: 125,000
It had been several days since the harrowing battle in the North. Chime had since been recovered by his friends and returned to the Lookout, and between his magic and his natural Namekian healing abilities, his wounds were mostly mended. His physical wounds, at least. In his heart he was torn apart by guilt, regret, and mounting panic. Nashi, Carro, and LEO were all dead. Three of Earth's strongest defenders, possibly the strongest, and his friends besides. All because of some stupid wish orbs that he created. The only thing stopping him from going inside and smashing the statue of Shenron into a hundred pieces was the fact that would doom all of them, as well as Tarch, to eternity in the afterlife. Chime doubted any of them were sent anywhere bad, but they were all too young to die. He had to fix this.
The problem was how. The Saiyan duo had slain some of the mightiest on Earth. Anyone weaker, which included most people, would be destroyed without a thought. Chime couldn't ask someone to go on a suicide mission like that. The thought of somehow hiring the Stargoons briefly crossed his mind. What they might lack in strength they would make up for in numbers, and if they perished...well, maybe it would do something to redeem their souls of all the evil they've done. He didn't know what he would pay them with, though. He needed the Dragon Ball wish, and he didn't have any money...
All these thoughts swirled through his green head as he paced along the tiles of the Lookout. They were abruptly cut short as he sensed a presence approaching. A powerful one, about as strong as the villainous Saiyans. But it wasn't either of them, their energy signatures were impressed on Chime's memory like hot brands. This was something different, something...strange. It was almost dark, but not quite. He wasn't about to take any chances and rushed over to the side of the Lookout where this mysterious figure would land. Ki sparked in one hand, and magic in the other. He didn't have time for any random intruders today.
Soon a wispy, transparent form appeared over the Lookout's edge. Clearly a ghost, which explained why it felt so odd. Chime pointed at the spirit without so much as a 'hello', a point of ki forming on his fingertip. In the moment before he fired, as he squinted at his target to aim, he got a good look at his face. It wasn't one he knew very well, but one he recognized all the same. The ki flickered away, and his arm lowered.
"...Yogu?"

" Wellll, this was a bust. I guess I'll just come back later or something. They'll be around later, probably." Yogu turned around to leave but gave one last glance over the place. Something was off about it. He had this innate feeling that something was wrong with the lookout. It just felt... Empty. Soulless. And he knew a lot about empty soullessness! Which was certainly not what he was expecting from Kami's home. And he had been there before, and he hadn't got that at all! " Maybe it's just cause no one's here? I guess empty places are gonna feel empty." Yogu was about to leap off the ledge and go back to Earth, but then a voice called out to him. " Eh?" Yogu took another look back, and who else was standing there but the Kami! " Oh! HEY CHIME! IT'S ME YOGU! HIIII!" Yogu floated across the Lookout, slowly making his way towards the little green guy. " Man, it has been a loooong time, eh? I guess my life's been pretty busy. What with the whole DYING thing, ya know? There was that whole running away thing after the lookout fight, then I was on vegeeeeta, then nameeeek, then I dieeeed." Then Yogu remembered, he had sent Nashi and Chime and a few other people a message before he died! " Oh yeah, sorry if that telepathic message before I died was annoying. I just uh... Yeah, I uh... I didn't know if I'd see you guys again." Yogu had promised himself he wouldn't get emotional, but here he was. Starting to tear up about the whole thing. " So uh... Yeah, sorry for being a garbage friend and running away when you offered help and stuff... Oh yeah! I'm a ghost too now, by the way. Man, crawling out of hell was some real trouble." Yogu finally reached the Kami and came to a stop right in front of him. " Then again, I guess being a ghost is wayyy better than being possessed by a demon thing. I'm gonna have to thank that Vocado guy for killing me and gettin' rid of that thing. I coulda caused sooo much damage. Monster was even goin' for the Namek Dragon Balls! Oh yeah, I'm gonna have to apologize to Oboe- Er, I mean Guru too..." Yogu took a second to think about Oboe. He kinda just beat the crap out of the guy, killed Typha, and then fucked off to Hell. Kind of an asshole move. He'd really have to give a good apology. Speaking of apologies... " More importantly! Where's Nashi? I need to give him a big hug and apology! I've been such a selfish asshole... It's been eatin' me up inside for months now knowing I abandoned him. We've already been through so much together and me abandoning him was just... H-He didn't deserve that... S-So where is the guy? Is he out trainin' or somethin'? I'd love to do some trainin' with him sometime soon, just like good ol' times!"
Really just putting lemon juice and acid on the incoming knife here

Yogu was here? How was that possible? Chime knew he had somehow returned as a ghost, Nashi had told him as much, but then he had vanished just as mysteriously as he'd appeared. He thought Yogu was gone for good now, but apparently he'd been wrong. Chime could only stare at the ghostly young man in disbelief as he rambled on. Yogu was in entirely better spirits (He could practically hear Nashi chuckling) than he'd been expecting. Granted, the only other times he'd heard from the boy, he was either dying on on death's door. Maybe this was just the default Yogu.
Chime just gaped at him like a fish as he went on with more questions and little quips, but one thing broke through his overwhelmed mind like a bolt of lightning: Vocado. Yogu didn't seem upset in the slightest, apparently, death had exorcized Monster fully. Chime, on the other hand, was furious. How many people had that damn Saiyan killed? How many of them were Chime's friends? His anger had to wait, though. Yogu was asking important questions. Where was Nashi?
He took a deep breath before he spoke, "Yogu. Slow down a bit, would you? It is good to see you again, even if it's..." he gestured to Yogu's ghostly form, "...like this. A lot has happened since you were here last. But first," Chime's arms snapped to his sides as he bent forward in a deep bow. It was partially out of true repentance, and partially because he was too ashamed to make eye contact, "I want to apologize for what I did to you. I'm sorry. That spell I used...I had never tried it on a living thing before. I wanted to run more tests and perfect it, but then Monster showed up, and..." Chime's breath caught in his throat and he faltered. He remembered the sight of Yogu after the siphon, mangled and bloody on the ground. He could hear his scream of anguish when he awoke again, "I-- I didn't know how else to destroy the monster, and keep you alive. But I shouldn't have done it, I should have thought of a better plan. I'm sorry." He wasn't expecting Yogu to forgive him, that wasn't even what he was looking for. He just wanted to express his regret and show he wasn't a heartless monster that went around messing with people souls carelessly.
Chime stayed bowed for another moment before straightening up and clearing his throat, "Anyway, uh. Nashi. A lot's happened, like I said. There's a lot of news, and none of it is good. Brace yourself, okay?" He gave Yogu a tentative, worried look before he would continue.

Chime seemed a tad surprised that Yogu was there. Yogu expected this, but it seemed to take the Namekian a while to adjust. " I guess now that I think about it the last time Chime saw me, I was screaming, confused, and in a lot of mental and physical pain. I guess it'd be kinda a shock to find out that I'm just kinda... Chill? Yeah. I'm pretty chill right now." He wasn't going to be chill in a minute. But that minute hadn't come yet, damn it. Because first, Chime felt the need to apologize for what had happened last time Yogu was there. The whole display put Yogu off of his chill mood. Everything about it, the bowing, the formality of it, just the fact that Chime felt the need to apologize at all was offputting for the boy. It wasn't just offputting, it pissed him off! " Woah, Woah, Woah! What the hell are you doin'?! PICK YOUR DAMN HEAD UP RIGHT NOW! You've got no reason the apologize to me damn it! You didn't have any time to think of a better plan anyway, it ain't your fault your best option wasn't perfect! And 'sides, it's not like you knew that the spell would do that to me! You've got nothin' to apologize for, Chime! So don't go acting like you do!" Yogu paused for a moment to wait for chime to stand back up from his bow. Then he took a deep breath. Yogu's body shoots down into what would be a ninety-degree angle bow if he had a lower body. Now it just looked like he was planking in the middle of the air. " I'm incredibly sorry for running away from Earth after that whole... Thing. I didn't even apologize to you guys for it after through telepathy! If I hadn't run away... Well, I wouldn't be dead now. Probably. And then I would've been a lot stronger, and I could've helped you guys out a lot more! I wasn't here to help against any threats that I'm sure were here while I was gone! I made things rougher for You, Nashi, and everyone else here by abandoning you all. I'm really, really sorry. Please try to learn to forgive me at some point." Yogu stands back up and cracks his neck. Bowing like that really killed his neck. Which was strange because he was dead so there shouldn't have been any muscles to strain. Weird. Chime moved onto Nashi. Yogu really couldn't wait to reunite with his friend. Sure, they had seen each other when he crawled out of hell for a quick meeting where Yogu agreed to help with the hunt, but that was it. He never got the opportunity to apologize to him. Or train with him. Or hang out with him and just be friends. It felt like ever since they got out of Otherworld it was just one thing after another with no downtime. Chime said that there was no good news about Nashi, and just no good news in general for updates on what he missed out on. Yogu braced himself, " Whatever it is Chime, I'm sure Nashi and I can handle it! Like I said, the two of us have been through a bunch of stuff together already. Whatever it is, we'll take care of it no problemo!"
Yogu's vibes are about to get stink stank stunk

Chime didn't just stand from his bow, he jumped. Being shouted at would do that. He looked up at Yogu, bewildered. Yogu was angry...because he was apologizing? Not for anything else he'd done? But Chime had haphazardly ripped his soul apart, how could he just be okay with that? Yet there he stood, telling Chime he had nothing to apologize for, and even going to far as to apologize himself. It was Chime's turn to reprimand him, now.
"Hey, hold on! Don't worry about any of that, okay?" He waved his hands back and forth, a bit frantically, "I was never mad at you about that! I was upset about it, sure, but more just that it happened at all, not at you." Most of his negative feelings had been directed at himself and his inability to help more, but he didn't voice that part. He didn't need Yogu scolding him again, "There's nothing to forgive...so long as you stick around this time, alright? Or at least tell us where to find you before you go. What happened to you...I still don't have the whole story, but no one should have to go through something like that. So I don't blame you for doing something reckless. Okay?" He gave Yogu what he hoped was a reassuring smile, but it didn't reach his eyes.
Now came the hard part. Yogu still hadn't grasped the severity of the news, which made breaking it even harder. Chime managed to keep looking Yogu in the face as he told him, "...I don't think Nashi is going to handle it, he's...dead. He was killed by the same Saiyan that killed you. Vocado, and his ally Cress." His hands balled into fists and his face twisted into anger as he said their names, "He was guarding a Dragon Ball and they murdered him for it. By the time I got there, they were already gone. And it's not just that," Now that he'd begun, Chime couldn't stop. He ranted on, his voice rising with emotion, any care for breaking the news gently forgotten, "They got Carro and LEO, too. You know, the President? I was there that time, I got to see it. I tried to stop it, but in the end all I could do was watch. They're stronger than Nashi and LEO were, how could I even scratch them? You could hold your own against one, maybe." He gestured dismissively at Yogu, "But only one, both together and you'd be toast, too. And now they've got four of the Dragon Balls, and their wish will likely destroy the planet if it's made."
Chime threw his hands up in the air, then let them fall back to his sides with a soft clap. He knew he was being too harsh, shouting everything out like that, but he couldn't bring himself to care, "So, welcome back. Sorry we made a mess of things while you were gone."

Chime didn't seem to want Yogu's apology. Which was strange, all things considered, to Yogu. How could Chime not be mad about that? He had abandoned them. Twice. And once was right after he let a demon possess him and destroy the Lookout! Yogu didn't protest Chime's denial of an apology, just sighing and giving a, " Yep, sure..." He still felt deep down that he still had a lot to apologize for. But he supposed he could shove his apology in Chime's face when all of this Dragon Ball business was over. Now was the time for the "bad news" about Nashi. Yogu was sure it couldn't be that bad. What's the worst that could've happened while Yogu was gone? It'd only been, what? Not even three whole months? He was dead. Dead. Dead? Dead. Not just dead, but killed by Vocado. And some dude named Cress. The first thing that hit Yogu was a wave of nausea. " No, no, this-this isn't possible... I-I was gone for just three months... Only a few months- haha..." Chime continued to break down all of the news, and it took Yogu a little bit to catch up. He broke eye contact with Chime, instead choosing to look down at the ground while everything started spinning. This wasn't happening. This COULDN'T be happening. Yogu felt like he was going to cry, but he couldn't even do that. But that just made everything worse. He was reduced to such a state from his ghostliness that he couldn't even cry over the death of his best friend. How tragic. He felt the most empty and hollow he had since his death. In fact, it felt like he was dying all over again. The news only got worse as he found out Vocado and whoever this Cress guy was had taken the Dragon Ball Nashi was guarding. They had killed him over it. One thought pierced through Yogu's mind as he took in this information " Nashi wouldn't have died if I hadn't abandoned him. This is my fault. It's all my fault. If I was there this wouldn't've happened." The news got worse as Chime became more emotional. Carro had died. Now that was a curveball. Yogu wasn't expecting that at all. He started to shake uncontrollably. He didn't know Carro well, but he had helped Yogu in some of his darkest hours. For the President of Earth, the guy was a damn good therapist. " Oh fuck, he's the President of Earth." The President was dead. The Earth was probably in full panic mode right now, and he somehow missed it during his trip. Maybe the news hadn't broke to the world yet. If Yogu had a lower body, he'd be on his knees. And the caveat to this Bad News? The fuckers, those absolute garbage stain sons of bitches that took his friend from him and killed Carro had a majority of the Dragon Balls in their possession. Oh, and now the fate of the planet was at stake too. " Heh... AHAHAHA! THANKS FOR LETTIN' ME KNOW, CHIME!" Yogu said through shaky breaths. Why had he laughed there? Yogu had never reacted in such a way to something. Then again he was pretty sure he hadn't been given news before that gave him such a wide range of emotions. There was the sturdy wall of sadness, stopping that red sea of pure rage and anger that was his soul at the moment from spilling over, and the dark cloud of fear that was cast over said sea, and the overwhelmingness of it all making him feel like a baby. " Damn it... Damn it... DAMN IT! IF I WAS HERE THEN... TH-THEN..." Yogu held back the nearly overpowering feeling to punch Chime in the face for his last comment. He wasn't sure what it was about it, maybe it wasn't even the comment. Maybe Yogu just really wanted to hit something. Yeah. That was probably it. Yogu lets out an eardrum shattering scream and punches the ground a couple times, leaving a fairly large-sized crater in the ground, not bad for a couple of punches. Through gritted teeth and shaky breaths, Yogu speaks again, " Y-You gotta plan, right Chime? RIGHT?! TELL ME YOU HAVE A KAI DAMNED PLAN!" Yogu looks back up at Chime for the first time in what felt like forever. He locks eyes with Earth's "Guardian" and gives him a stare that would burn a hole through lesser men, waiting for an answer.
You broke him.

The more bad news Chime revealed to Yogu, the more Yogu broke down. If this had been a month or so ago, if Chime wasn't so worn down by recent events himself, he would have stopped his tirade, knelt down and set a hand on Yogu's shoulder, told him everything would be alright. But Chime didn't know that for sure. Maybe things would be alright in the end, he certainly hoped they would, but it was looking grim. Even if they survived and defeated the Saiyans, he predicted there would still be lasting losses. It was rough, but he wouldn't lie about it. This was more important than anyone's feelings.
...He would omit information, though. There was still the matter of Tarch and Sensoa, but there was no need to overwhelm Yogu with more information than he already had. They could deal with that problem whenever it reared its head.
Instead of comfort him, Chime merely watched and waited with a stony frown on his face. A couple of minutes and a decent crater in the floor later, Yogu was finished and staring up at him with fury and grief. Chime stared right back, unmoved. "...I have the beginnings of a plan. Pieces of it." He told him, "We need to gather our allies and get stronger. The list of people I trust and that I think even have a chance in this fight is very short. I need to go to Crop Co. and talk to the people there, tell them about Carro if they don't already know. And then I need to talk to the Saiyan Queen. I met her once, briefly, but don't know her well. We're supposed to be on good terms with Vegeta, diplomatically speaking, but..." He raised his arms in a shrug, "Who knows. They're probably rogue agents, but they might not be. As for us..."
Chime looked down at Yogu for a long moment in silence. They truly didn't know each other well, but their paths had been intertwined from the start. Chime squatted down so they were on eye level and clasped his hands together, "I'm not sure how much Kanrin ever told you, but the first wish on Earth's Dragon Balls was supposed to be for you. You and Nashi. That's what I was trying to do, revive the heroes of Satan City and save the world. It didn't happen like that, of course. They made that wish on Namek. I'm not sure it changed much in the long run, though. You're both dead again, and the world needs saving more than ever. So here's what I'm thinking,"
The Kami straightened back up and offered Yogu his hand, "We try and do what we were supposed to be doing from the start, but this time we do it because we want to, not because some god said we should. If we can stall their wish long enough to gather our forces and fight...I can't make any promises, but I think that's the best shot we have." He stood there with his hand outstretched, waiting for Yogu's reply.
