PERSONALITY
Fend was raised with the intention to be a prim and proper Shinjin, but her rebellious spirit has made her anything but. She is an audacious, ambitious person who doesn't like to sit still and takes a fancy to the dramatic. She has grown to resent following Shinjin rules she doesn't agree with, and as such values independence and prefers to face any and all problems head-on. This combined with her bitterness from how she was coddled for her gifted abilities makes Fend apprehensive to let others help her, or establish close relationships with others under the mentality that she and she alone should fix what she's set out to. Her stubbornness is both a virtue that is quick to push Fend back to her feet after failure, but also what can lead her into undesirable situations. For better or worse, the dutiful Shinjin takes fate by the horns.
As a Shinjin, Fend holds the mortal realm in high regard. She values the mere principle of life- hearing the tales of both despair and hope from the deceased in the Otherworld has made Fend put the living realm on a podium of sorts in her head. The mortal world is exciting as it is beautiful. But seeing travesty after travesty ripple through the realm her kind is supposed to guard as they just watch has made Fend spiteful to her own kind. As a fairly young Shinjin, she sees in the short-term here and now instead of the millennia most of her kind look over. In turn, this all festered into her confrontational nature to do anything and everything she can to achieve her goals.
Though Fend is set on protecting and bettering both the mortal realm and Otherworlds, her moral compass doesn't strictly prohibit her from sketchier behavior. If she believes it to be for the greater good, Fend will lie, steal, or cheat, though it does weigh on her conscious. This ties into her general rebellious spirit that sparked a result of feeling isolated and coddled as well as railroaded and controlled by her mentors. Stubborn determination and a free spirit guide Fend's decision-making.
Hearing story after story of the mortal realms' tales has given Fend a bit of a dramatic flair. She's standoffish and likes to show off, sometimes favoring flash over efficiency in a fight when she feels confident. Whether it be dramatic brooding and monologuing atop buildings beneath the full moon, standing in just the right angle so that her cloak looks really cool waving in the wind, Fend sometimes takes her affinity to drama to these comical degrees. Should others point out how absurd and goofy it is, she winds up flustered while trying to defend herself.
Fend can be very quippy and sharky just as she is theatrical- she is far from the professional standards her kind sets. She holds herself in a casual and almost juvenile manner, finds herself fond of slang, is very blunt, and has a habit of wisecracking and being downright rude to people she doesn't like. This harkens back to her value of independence and hate towards feeling controlled- she acts how she wants whether people like it or not. However, Fend can just as easily be sincere and sympathetic. She detests cruelty, pain, and those who use their power for all the wrong reasons. Fend wants to help people and truly be the guarding 'god' many believe the Shinjin to be.
From one of the towering Kaiju Trees of the Otherworlds, one of the ripest, cleanest fruits was nurtured for with the upmost care as it developed. While it was no golden fruit, it was one of the purest seen in awhile. From this exemplary fruit was Fend- a Shinjin that showed immense promise to her kind with a great talent was evident in her healing abilities.
It first surfaced when her superiors were touring her through one of the mortal world's lush planets, showing her an example of the life they sought to cater and guide. But upon stumbling across a corpse of one of the wild creatures of the planet, a lesson to the young Shinjin about death turned into a shocking revelation as she tried to heal the recently deceased- and lo and behold, the corpse's heart started beating again before the animal lurched to it's feet and dashed off. Fend's gift was held in high regard, and she was taken in by some higher-ranking Shinjin to be mentored and trained to be a proper Shinjin that could responsibly use her 'gifted' power.
At first, Fend was honored and excited to learn under the superior Shinjin. They let her watch the mortal worlds alongside them, attempting to teach her life's lessons from the hopeful highs and crushing lows the mortals below experienced. Cold murder, hostile takoevers were held alongside heroic victories and touching reunions in what she saw. Even outside of her teachings, Fend enjoyed interacting with the deceased souls that settled in the Afterlife to hear what stories they had to share. She grew to value the life they were supposed to protect, and took in every lesson with immense care and attentiveness. Fend was on the path to being a promising Shinjin.
Then she had to ask. When would she get to help stop the horrible things that happened? Just When would she get to protecting the mortals like they were supposed to? A few hundred years after her training, was her answer. She wasn't ready to understand yet, but someday.
Fend couldn't have been more disappointed by the answer. She did her best to hide it- a hundred-some years wasn't long for a Shinjin, right...? She was taken off watching-duty to better hone her healing skills, but Fend didn't stop listening to the tales tragedies of dead mortals. While she was being pampered and praised by her teachers, people were dying down below. There wasn't a single day when she could see the end of the sprawling line leading to Yemma's hall. Fend began to feel anxious and angry. What good was the ability to reverse death when she was not allowed the opportunity to properly use it? You'll understand with time, her mentors tried to reassure her. Fend grew more and more resentful, more and more unsatisfied with the role her people held. They were supposed to guard this world they watched! What were they supposed to do when an evil terrible enough to require their intervention arose with their pitiful punch to back up their magic- ask nicely for it to stop?
Years began to pass, and not nearly as quickly as she was told they would go by. Fend couldn't sit and watch any longer. She disguised her aura, masked herself and broke into one of her peoples' manors to take everything she could that could aid her quest- most notably a sword said to repel and pierce evil itself. She was attacked as she attempted to finally escape the Otherworlds, blasted just as she warped aimlessly warped lands below, battering the stolen blade. With a burning spirit and a broken sword Fend finally finds the chance to begin to forge her own path in the universe, starting on the world of Namek she stumbled upon...

[SIG|Med Machine] |Starter (x5) / 8k SLOTS| Dreamcatcher: Fend was born with this mystical offshoot of a Shinjin's healing abilities. Instead of the conventional restoration spells that heal wounds, this power allows Fend to revive the recently deceased. She heals the dead body through an intensive ritual with her magic, medical potions, and even some of her own blood and life force, using this power to call back the departed soul before they can reach the Afterlife. This is a strenuous process that she cannot preform while in immediate danger due to the intense focus required, meaning Dreamcatcher cannot be used in the midst of a DE- only after upon a successful escape/survival on Fend's part. Upon this Signature's use, her Medical Machine is drained and destroyed, and Fend must by another to use this again. (*Magic-y reflavored Miracle Worker SIG)
[UT1|Disguise] |16k PL SLOT| Masquerade: Fend can alter the "feeling" of her ki to fool those with Ki Sense, allowing her to either hide her identity or copy the aura of those she is familiar with, though in the case of the latter it wouldn't be a perfect recreation. However, those who are well-acquainted with either of Fend's personas can see through her guise. In addition to this, Demons, regardless of if they know Fend personally or not, can effortlessly see through her camouflage due to the holy nature of her ki and their susceptibility to the mere presence of a Shinjin. Can also be used to slightly alter her voice, though this too can be discerned as an illusion by those who know Fend well.

Different individuals have different "feelings" to their Ki, so Fend can pick out people she is familiar with as well. Stronger energies can be sensed from greater distances, whereas smaller ones require much more concentration to pick out, making finding those with suppressed energies increasingly difficult. Those with inorganic ki- Androids and certain Aliens- cannot be sensed with this ability.

Kai-Kai: Once per month, Fend can travel between the realms near-instantly, visiting the Mortal Realms or Otherworld. When traveling between Heaven and Hell directly, the cooldown for her next travel is only 24 hours. To start, she can only teleport herself, but her ability to take others along increases by 1 passenger every 100,000 Power Level, capping at 5 extra "riders" at 500,000 Power Level. Bringing a non-living being back to the Mortal Realms will allow them to stay in the Mortal Realms for 24 OOC hours, but they are unable to join DE threads. If they have accompanied Fend or other Shinjin once before whilst dead, they are unable to accompany you again.
Godly Prowess: Shinjin like Fend start with two extra technique slots, though they must be used for magic-based or flavored techniques. In addition, she also gains access to the "Mystic" Signature Branch.
Heavenly Bias: If Fend dies, she may skip judgment from Yemma and be sent to the Grand Kai worlds in Heaven. Though she will still be considered dead, she can use Kai Kai to travel to the Mortal Realms for a mere 24 OOC hours with an inability to join Death Enabled threads before being ushered back to Otherworld.
TRANSFORMATIONS:
Kaio (x2P) | START: A Shinjin's natural, empowered state. The Kaio form does little to change Fend's appearance, save for her exuded ki sporting more of a firey flare. This doubles her energy output and is a permanent form can be used continuously without consequence or risk of dropping the transformation.

A vial filled with a potent mixture of Fend's holy magic and otherworldly herbs. A drop of it provides a small Zenkai to either Fend or an ally upon sustaining life-threatening damages in Open DE/Saga thread upon use.

A stolen, Kai-forged rapier infused with holy magic, able to channel immense amounts of ki. It's magic was siphoned during Fend's haphazard travel to the mortal worlds, rendering it useless until she can find a way to restore it...
Gravitational Band (*Flavored Gravity Device) | 6,000 XP
A bracelet filled with condensed magic, operable by a keypad on it's front. It can increase gravity around Fend's from x10-x100G, and increases in increments of 10.
Sno Ruby (*Gift Bag Blood Ruby) | 0 XP
A pale blue ruby, cold to touch with an icy texture. It radiates ki, which can be drained to give Fend a +x1 ATK once-per-thread. -x1 DEF follows next post.
