Chime's PL: 100 (Set from 125,000)
Chime sat at the edge of the Lookout, cross-legged, eyes shut, just breathing. He wasn't truly meditating, simply trying to calm himself to what he was about to do. He'd spoken to people in high up, important positions on official business before, of course, but they were usually his friends already, and their people usually weren't bent on destroying his own. This was unprecedented for him, so he was bound to be a little nervous. It wasn't like Kayen was expecting his message though, so he could take some time. She wasn't waiting on him. It was just that every moment he delayed in this, or any action, was a moment the Saiyans could use to get one step closer to their goals. To find another Dragon Ball, to kill another innocent person--
Okay, that wasn't helping.
He took another few deep breaths. What was that Earth saying? Rip the bandage off fast? He didn't use many bandages as a Namekian, but he supposed he was an honorary Earthling now, so he should follow their example. With one final breath, he reached his awareness out to find Kayen. It took less time than he thought, she seemed close. He'd been expecting her to be back on Vegeta.
"Queen Kayen? Sorry for the sudden...well, suddenness, of this. There's no real way to make it less startling. This is Chime, the Guardian of Earth. I have some important planetary matters to discuss with you, they're urgent. I'd appreciate it if you could come to my Lookout to talk in person, but if you can't, we can continue speaking like this instead."

Kayen was in the midst of her workout, trying to puzzle out exactly how to handle the absolute chaos that was the situation on Earth. Working out helped to focus her mind and made it easier to make big decisions such as this, or at least it did so long as her mind was not suddenly intruded upon. The Guardian’s initial response from the Queen would be a loud shout of “THE FU-” followed VERY swiftly by a long series of expletives in the wide array of languages that Kayen knew how to swear in as the sudden intrusion caused her to drop the weight she had been lifting onto her chest. It was onyl by Barb’s expert designs that the damage was not as bad as it likely SHOULD have been, especially as Kayen lacked a spotter, the impact was rough and paunful, enough to wind her, but not enough to do lasting harm as the weight rapidly reduced itself as it fell. “I will never get used to that” Kayen thought back half in an effort to actually respond to Chime and half as a simple stream of consciousness. “Give me a few minutes, I’m not far” Kayen thought back at Chime again before making an active effort to cut herself off from the Guardian’s connection, not wanting her actual thoughts to leak over. She had a good feeling she knew what this ‘call’ was about and it was not exactly a conversation she was eager to have, but it WAS likely inevitable, the dropping of the weight was in a strange way almost a blessing, it helped to mask whatever her thoughts might have been with blinding pain and fury. Presuming the Guardian did not change his mind and seek to maintain the conversation at a distance Kayen would clean herself up, don her armor, and take off from the Forest near the Lookout where the Stormbreaker was ‘parked’ and up to the Lookout itself. “I’m pretty sure you’re the first person to nearly break some of my bones without actually having to expend much energy on the task” Kayen called out as she touched down heading in the general direction of Chime’s power signature.

Apparently he'd called at a bad time. Whoops. It's not like he could've known, though! Despite the whole 'god' thing, he wasn't omniscient, he couldn't see what people were doing. ...There was an idea, though. Maybe he could develop his telepathy even farther, and be able to see people as well as hear them. He filed that away for later, when he had time to spend on such things.
"Ah, sorry about that!" Is what he actually 'said' back to Kayen, "I can't exactly help it. I'll be up here when you're, er...recovered." Chime wasn't sure what exactly he'd interrupted, but it had sounded bad, and possibly painful.
He was standing at the edge of the Lookout when Kayen arrived and crossed the perfect grid of tiles to meet her halfway. He laughed in response to her greeting, an automatic thing with no actual joy behind it. Chime was finding that easier and easier to do, to give a hollow response that he knew was appropriate, but that his heart wasn't in. It would be obvious to those that knew him well, but he'd only met Kayen once before. Besides, being overly polite was normal in situations like this. "Hah! I guess I'll take the honor, but it wasn't my intent. Anyway, thank you for coming so quickly. Let's, uh..." His polite mask fell away and his expression grew more serious, "Let's talk inside."
Chime waved for her to follow him and led her into the underbelly of the Lookout, carefully avoiding any common areas strewn with Hetap cans and instant noodle packs. They had to keep up appearances of holiness, and not the fraternity of nerds the place had essentially become. Eventually, they came to what was likely meant as a dining hall, at least a hundred years ago, but now went unused by Chime and his friends. A long, rounded table with many chairs all around it, all simply made but with intricate carvings if one looked at it for more than a moment. He pulled a seat out for her at the head of the table, and sat down to the right of it. He leaned forward against the table, hands clasped over its surface.
"So. I'll get to the point. Earth has a bit of a...problem, right now. A Saiyan shaped problem, one that's at least threefold." He counted on his fingers as he listed them off, "A criminal named Cress, and unknown third party, and Vocado. I'm not expecting you to keep track of everyone from your planet, but I'm assuming you know that last one, at least. They're hunting for our Dragon Balls and have gotten pretty violent along the way. I won't go into all the details, but several people are dead, and their wish will kill many more if it's made. Now," Chime held his hands up, palms out, in an 'innocent' posture, "I'm not asking you to do anything. I'm not even sure if these people are technically subjects of yours or not, but if they are, I thought you should know."
Chime folded his hands back together and watched Kayen carefully for any change of expression. This all being an elaborate ploy of hers was pretty low on his list of ideas, but it was still on the list. He wanted to be more sure.

“It does make me wonder if you COULD turn that trick into an actual attack, you should look into it. I don’t know many fighters who are equipped to deal with an actual mental assault” Kayen offered with a grin as she touched down before also shifting into ‘serious mode’ much like Chime had, he lead her across the ‘bowl’ part of the Lookout and into the temple like building itself, part of her felt at first like he was specifically avoiding taking her to any rooms but she assumed that was simply due to his focus on the situation at hand and wanting to get wherever they were going fast rather than giving any sort of tour. Kayen took the seat the Guardian offered and restrained herself from putting her feet up on the table as he took his position at her right and launched into a rundown of the situation, his ‘briefing’ was from the presumption that she knew nothing of the situation and that was ultimately a major advantage for the Queen as it prompted Chime to give her a bit of information. So the Dragon Balls were Cress’ goal, it certainly made sense and the fact that he was working with Vocado ALSO made the whole situation make a lot more sense, Cress was a strong fighter but the story of him simply getting lucky and taking out Carro in single combat hadn’t felt ‘right’. “Cress is technically one of mine, or well more accurately he’s apart of the Kingdom. I’m beginning to think the reason Granny Habana left the Empire had less to do with her not fitting the ‘peaceful future’ role and more her getting tired of dealing with Saiyans” Kayen said with a long and heavy sigh. “I’ve got no clue about the third person, I’d heard from Ochra that Vocado was involved with some idiot who attacked my-” Kayen paused and ‘corrected’ herself “attacked some of those close to me, so that could be the third person involved though from what he told me they weren’t exactly worth much, just a chaotic idiot. Allegedly they claimed Kraktus was also involved but I’ve got my doubts”“I know exactly why you’ve called me here though, Cress likes to brag, and while I have some ideas on where Vocado’s plans might lay I think Cress is a bit more simple, he’s a fool but doesn’t see his actions as being against what I’d want. So he sent me a message after his big ‘achievement’” She’d been mostly unsure what to do with the information, the logical choice would have been to take Earth herself, even if it offered little of interest to her it WAS still another world she could add to her Kingdom. But without Ramen around she was unsure of how feasible that would be, sure she could likely DO it, but how would Ramen react? “But when he showed up to talk about his big win he neglected to tell me a few things, A LOT of things based off of what you’ve mentioned. He made it seem like his fight with Carro was a solo battle, that he won by the skin of his teeth and that was prompted entirely because Carro was ‘in his way’ and a good test for his strength. From what you’ve said my guess is that Carro was collecting the Dragon Balls as well. I debated taking up the hunt myself but decided against going for Earth’s set, I’m pretty sure the temptation to wish for power over what I’m actually seeking would be a bit TOO great.”“Do you know what they plan to wish for? You seemed fairly sure” Kayen had an idea, especially if Vocado was the one leading this expedition.

Chime sat still as a stone, stoic, as he listened to Kayen's reply. She somehow knew both more and less than he'd been expecting. Just not the information he'd been expecting her to have, really. Cress was actually under her command, for one thing, but not acting under her orders in all this, assuming she was telling the truth, of course. Which she seemed to be, so far.
'Some idiot who attacked my--' Kayen began, but stopped and corrected herself. Those close to me, not my. Chime, listening and watching as intently as he was, caught the slip immediately. Interesting. So someone, or several someones, that Kayen cared about had been caught up in Vocado's machinations. It didn't sound too serious, from her tone, no one seemed dead or seriously wounded, but it was still something. More evidence that the Queen and the Dragon Ball-hunting Saiyans weren't in league with each other. Well, as much evidence as her own word could be. Chime wanted to believe her at face value, it would make everything so much easier, but it was hard to. That nagging voice in the back of his head kept reminding him that she might be lying. The pirate queen didn't seem like the conniving, two-faced type, but still. There was always that maybe.
Chime finally moved now, leaning forward in his seat, "I've met this Kraktus once. I don't know if he's allied with Vocado or not, but I do know he doesn't like me. That might be enough. But there might not be a third ally at all. I'd assumed there was, because Cress sent a scouter message to someone at the end of the battle. If that someone was you, and you're not helping them, then..." He opened his folded hands to sweep in front of him, "It might just be the two of them after all. Still dangerous, but much more manageable than a large group."
At Kayen's mention of hunting for the Dragon Balls, Chime tilted his head a bit, curiously. "...If you don't mind me asking, what are you seeking? I'll admit I don't know much about you as an individual, so my natural assumption would be that you're a warrior, and so you'd want power. But maybe you only want power that you've truly earned and trained for." Chime shrugged, "I've told you what I want, the protection of my planet and its people, so I'm curious what you're looking for. As for their wish..."
He paused, wondering briefly if he should tell her. It could be dangerous, but seeing her reaction to the truth would be valuable, "What do you know about the Tree of Might?"

“It’s not entirely easy to determine exactly how many there might be, Vocado was King for a while, even if it was short in the broad sense of things he was the first person to take hold of things after the Fleet’s attack, that could easily have bought him a lot of loyalty. Thankfully I feel mostly certain that the strongest members of my Kingdom, Nashua and Ramen, are loyal to me.” Nashua was perhaps the ONLY iffy point considering Kayen was reasonably sure there was some sort of stronger connection between her and Vocado, but it was at the very least unlikely she would be actively deceptive about her loyalties. “I’m not above wishing for power, it’s not IDEAL but I’ll take an advantage like that, but that’s not what I want now. My wish is for revival, I’m not sure how much you’re aware of but the Demon Sensoa recently completely lost his shit and has been causing issues, namely killing my student Tarch.” Kayen’s expression grew grim and focused as she explained her intentions for the Dragon Balls “Sensoa was one of mine, originally he was with the Fleet I managed to turn him to my side, he was very loyal but there’s just something… wrong… with him, a madness that seems to have been growing for a long time that I was unable to keep under control, it eventually consumed his mind. I had a few chances to kill him when he wasn’t quite so mad, I probably should have in hindsight”“The Tree? I suppose that makes sense, Vocado’s been seeking it for a long time. Ever since we took Vegeta. I’m aware of what its supposedly capable of, I still have some of the boons it granted Habana when she benefitted from its power so I’m fairly certain the claims of its abilities are true. I suppose it makes sense that since his search proved fruitless” Kayen managed a smirk at the terrible joke “that he might think the Dragon Balls could recreate it for him”
