The storm continued to rage around them while the battle within came to a temporary lull. Chime met Vocado's intense gaze with his own, but then shifted his focus behind him, towards Cress. The fearsome red energy the Saiyan had been charging must have been reaching a peak now...right? How much power could he hold in his hands at once? Chime didn't want to find out...but maybe he wouldn't have to. Maybe the Fate that Vocado liked to talk so much about was in their favor.
A figure approached across the stormy water, one Chime had never seen before. Tall, pale, and horned...Chime's first guess was a demon, but he didn't feel demonic. In a blink he was at their side (or more specifically, at Oboe's) and Chime raised his hands in self-defense, instinctively. Apparently, the anger etched on his face wasn't directed at them, and he was here to help. The man claimed to be a shinjin, which got a confused look from the Kami. This 'Dorei' wasn't like any shinjin he'd ever seen. (Admittedly, he'd only ever seen a couple, but that was more than the average person's total of 'none.') Dorei claimed they would owe him one, and Chime's non-existent hackles immediately went up. He wanted something, of course. Everyone always wanted something. What exactly it was, he couldn't guess, but it would have to wait for later.
It was around now that Kraktus had mulled over Chime and Vocado's please for allyship, and had decided who he would side with. Chime had been confident in his words, but still doubted whether the squid-man would listen. Chaos or not, the Kami and his friends were still the 'good guys.' They were fighting to preserve life overall, not destroy it. But to his pleasant surprise, Kraktus agreed to join them...on one condition. That they make one final wish on the Dragon Balls, and then destroy them. Chime looked up at the monstrous mass that was Kraktus for a long moment, his expression serious and grim. This had been something in the back of his mind, ever since Nashi had been killed, but he hadn't ever put it into words until now. No one had asked.
"You say that as if it wasn't my plan from the start of all this."
Chime didn't elaborate further. He turned to where Cress was still standing, red energy growing above his head, and fired off a Kanrikosen beam from his finger. Vocado, fast as he was, would probably try and stop it, but was he fast enough to stop five of them?
"Stop him!" Chime mentally shouted to his friends and new, temporary allies, "I don't know what sort of attack he's building up back there, but it can't be good!"

They failed...?
Kraktus floated over to Chime and Oboe’s side, ranting as he was want to do. He was on the side of the light. The side that was easier to manipulate, he supposed. Was this really their opposition now? It was impossible odds, but they could still take down someone before this was all over, right?
”You’re dead, Squid. Whatever plans you have will shatter to pieces. If I don’t break you, one of your temporary allies will eradicate it far easier.”
And then another showed. A sniveling shrimp of a god. Why was a Kai here? Had he really earned their ire already? The thought should’ve excited him, but Dorei’s words did nothing but infuriate. Every fiber of Vocado’s being wanted nothing more than to play into what Oboe had said. To scream out his war cry and go down fighting.
Do it.
The Apparition appeared in full form. The rain was so thick that her body could be seen as if she were really there. Her face held a nasty sneer. Disappointment burned in her eyes. He’d failed her.
Die a fools death, you waste of space. Let the mages and weaklings beat you down. You’ve earned a death so pitiful and fruitless.
Vocado shuddered. She was right. This was his final hour. Why not fall down and die? A tear rolled down his cheek. ”She’ll... never forgive me.”
Don’t speak of me, worm!
The Apparition launched a killer swing, and the punch somehow connected! How could an imaginary woman cause him damage? To the others, it would seem that he simply fell to his knees, but in Vocado’s mind he was forcibly knocked off his feet.
You don’t deserve my legacy! Kayen should’ve cleaved your head when she had the chance. That way you wouldn’t have disappointed so many people.
”No... Don’t say that. I’m not worthless!”
A one-sided argument would certainly make him seem unhinged to the others. His desperate pleas were nearly drowned out by the pouring rain.
The Apparition spit at the ground in front of Vocado, before turning her back and walking away. Her footfalls echoed in his mind, and he reached out to her with wild, hopeless abandon. He nearly fell flat on his face, but the sound of something hitting the ground behind him caused him to stop.
The pouch on his belt had opened, and three Dragon Balls fell to the ground. He collected them in his hand, and simply stared for a moment. Energy was flung nearby, but he didn’t pay it much mind.
”Bastards...”
There was a chance. In his desperation to survive, he concocted a plan. It’d cost him and his crew some progress, but a setback was better than death.
”You’ll all die. I’ll make sure of it. Every single ONE of you!”
Gripping the orbs tightly, he rose to his feet. Shuddering with fury, he tossed the Dragon Balls into the sky. They glinted like diamonds, shimmering and shining thanks to the flash of yet another bolt of lightning.
”I promise you... YOU WILL ALL SUFFER! HRAAAAAH!”
With his guttural cry, he let loose an energy bolt. It traveled up towards the trio of Dragon Balls, and impacted. The blast reflected off the trio, unleashing a bright, near-blinding light.
”Cress. We’re leaving. Let’s go— Now!”
He didn’t wait to see what Cress had planned. Turning his back on the crowd, Vocado leaped toward the ocean, another flash of lightning covering his escape...
Escaped for free thanks to Dorei’s entrance! Dropped the 1, 2 and 4-star Dragon Balls to escape.

Well things weren't going according to plan. Another powerful being arrived on scene, and was hovering next to the enemy. He was on the good side for sure. "Fuck." he curses quietly. Cress looks over at his partner, they were outnumbered now unless Kraktus would join their side. Sure he would, it made the most sense. Boy was he proven to be wrong.
"Greedy and Self-Serving? I take it you've never met me before." Cress looks at Oboe with a frown. "Our purpose- mine at least was far from selfish. I'd have just been going on about power had it been."
Kraktus demands the groups attention- something he wasn't going to get from Cress specifically because he demanded it. He ended up getting Cress' attention anyway, the saiyan looking at him with murderous intent before quickly calming himself down.
'This won't end well if we say.' his consciousness assures him.
"Now that you've made your choice I hope you don't mind that everyone knows you're on the side of the light now."
Cress grins, his scouter always recording, had captured everything that'd happened so far. He was glad he decided to pick one up before he joined the hunt. It was very useful, and he didn't have to waste any time learning how to sense ki.
"Kraktus, warrior of the light." he jokes. "If you wanted the Dragon Balls gone you could've killed him. Even if they are gone- there's still the namekian ones. I was going to destroy him with this attack but it seems like you've made your choice. It'll come back to bite you in the ass."
Chime had reassured him that was the plan, though. Cress raised a brow, really? It sort of pleased him, even if they didn't get their wish the dragon balls were indeed an abomination. "Good. As infuriated as I am at the thought of failure I agree the Dragon Balls have no place in this world."
Chime still chose to fire upon him, however, while insisting his friends do the same. All his attack would do would fuel his with more power, though. "The only way to stop this it to kill me." Cress says before looking over to Vocado, who was having some sort of breakdown. At the end of it, he demanded him leave after covering his own exit. "I am not your underling, Vocado. Don't forget that."
Cress turns back to the crowd. "Consider yourselves lucky." he says. "I will use this ki to fuel my own strength, and not to kill you- for now. Until next time." The ki returned to him, and he used said ki to escape at full speed. He would grow stronger.
Cress exits.

Kraktus was a bit annoyed he didn't get a confirmation to his plans from Oboe but Chime made it clear he was already planning to get rid of them. Kraktus grinned, that was a good feeling to know things were going his way. He looked at Cress as he made it clear that he was going to show everyone he was a warrior of light. Kraktus frowned. "Boy. Shut your mouth. Anyone who believes I am fighting for good clearly is stupid as you are. Get out of my sight." Kraktus turned back to Vocado who seemed to be having a slight mental breakdown as his plans fell apart. Kraktus grinned so wide one might worry him tearing it quite off. To see the Saiyan warrior put into such a place brought him a pleasure he could not describe. "Yes try to stop my plans Vocado. You can't. But I have a need for you in the future so run along." Kraktus telepathically spoke to Vocado as the man crumbled and the dragon balls rolled in front of Vocado.
Then he used the dragon balls to make a light that blinded them. He heard a few words from Cress after which one again just proved how foolish he was. Killing the dragonballs users would only lead to someone new taking their place. He needed a placeholder, people who would not use the dragonballs until it was too late to stop his master plan! He'd kill Chime and Oboe in a single swoop rather than letting them run along. Once he took care of everyone in his way they'd be the one to fall. The two warriors quickly escaped as Kraktus opened his eyes as he let off a frown. He didn't want to admit he wanted them to escape to the others though. "Seems he escaped." Kraktus looked at the others. "I shall gather my men. I'll have them get radars to help in your hunt. Then we can take care of Vocado and Cress." With the battle over he had no other reason to stay so he began to head back to his ship to leave.
Attempted Exit!

Things were moving too fast for the weakened Yogu to keep up. Some Shinjin named Dorei showed up, then Kraktus took their side? That was a shock to Yogu. Then the Shinjin exploded with power out of nowhere! "H-Holy crap...! This guy could beat Vocado no problem! We're winning for sure! But that power... Man, Shinjins sure are somethin' else, huh? I wonder if I'll end up gettin' that strong." Yogu focused back on Vocado and he didn't seem to be taking the turning of the tide well. He was doing that weird thing from earlier in their fight when the two of them were alone. He was talking to someone that wasn't there. The guy was having a full-on breakdown! He knew that seeing the guy that killed his best friend and caused so much damage to innocent lives be so distraught should've made Yogu happy, but deep down he felt pity for the man. When he had met Vocado before, Yogu didn't like him. But at the very least he could've called Vocado a warrior. One that had even shown him mercy once and had helped stop the terrifying beast Yogu had become for a time. Seeing how he was now was just... "You're nothing but a shadow of your former self, huh? I guess you became a monster sorta like how I did. I'm sorry you went down that path, Vocado." Yogu said to Vocado telepathically. This fight was done. There'd be no way for the duo to win now. Their Dragon Balls were practically already in Chime's and everyone else's hands.
Vocado declares that he was going to kill all of them. Yogu scoffed at the idea. They had him cornered with nowhere to go! Vocado and Cress couldn't do a thing to get away now! Well, as it turned out, they could. Vocado did a pretty clever trick with the Dragonballs that absolutely fried Yogu's eyes for a moment. But that moment was all those Saiyans needed to escape. When Yogu's vision cleared up, the two were gone. Rage welled up inside Yogu. "DAMN IT! ARE YOU KIDDING ME?! AFTER ALL THAT HARD WORK?! NO!" Yogu runs to the edge of the island and yells out over the ocean. The duo probably didn't hear him but he still tried, "WHAT HAPPENED TO THE GUY THAT'D DESTROY COUNTLESS CIVILIZATIONS, HUH?! YOU RAN AT THE FIRST SIGHT OF A CHALLENGE YOU PATHETIC BASTARD!" Yogu fired a ki blast in his rage, but all it did was fly off past his view.
Yogu took some deep breaths to calm down, but his body was still shaking with rage. Kraktus was leaving now, it seemed. But he and his men were going to be searching for the Dragon Balls. "Huh. Ya know, it's weird to have a squid-being of total chaos on our side." Yogu looked around at the island, and it was totally destroyed. One of the sad side effects of these big battles. Yogu turned his view up to his allies in the sky. "So, what's the plan guys? Recover those Dragon Balls they threw away and go to the lookout to talk strategy? Cause I don't know about the rest of you, but getting a plan together to find and get rid of these assholes sounds pretty good to me." He didn't mention it, but he was also really interested in Dorei's insane power, and how strong Oboe had gotten. Maybe he could convince them to spar at the lookout or something? It'd only lead to them getting stronger for their fight against Vocado.
Yogu took to the sky, blasting off towards the Lookout. He could leave deciding who'd take the Dragon Balls to everyone else. He probably shouldn't be taking them, considering his brash decision to attack Vocado is what started this whole fight in the first place.

Though his bravado had been false, Oboe had indeed hoped that he could keep Vocado focused on the conflict with worthwhile foes – appealing to his Saiyan nature – in the hopes to keep the duo’s focus on He and the Kai. While he did not know much of Dorei he did know about Shinjin and – while his personal opinion on them had been based on a single One Kai – that was someone he wanted to get to know more. Maybe, after this encounter, they could spend time to discuss things. A Shinjin of his might could be beneficial in helping to keep Chime and the Dragon Balls safe.
Discussions were abound, many had words to say but Vocado’s manic display of madness caused many to hold their tongues. It seemed his words had fallen on deaf ears as the Saiyan declared to his ally that they needed to leave. With that confirmation heard, Oboe allowed himself to finally address the other comments that had been made in the interim. Watching as the Saiyans left, Oboe turned to look at Kraktus and Chime directly. His eyes soft, but his expression hardened. He did not like the squid, nor did he quite enjoy Chime’s acquiescence.
He’s planning on getting rid of the Dragon Balls? Chime…
To make such a decision, Oboe had to wonder exactly what all had happened on Earth to impact the Guardian of the Planet in such a negative way. He supposed that he hadn’t quite noticed it upon his arrival, but Chime looked…tired. Ragged. He recognized the stress, recognized the appearance all too well. His ‘little brother’ had been through the ringer. He had lost a lot. Kraktus voice broke his thoughts eliciting a scowl as he stood closer – almost protectively – beside Chime. His eyes burning with disdain. He held his tongue as Kraktus announced he’d have his “Men” assist in hunting the orbs; the comment did not settle well with Oboe though he waited till the other was out of sight before speaking to Chime.
“…It’d be foolish to Trust him, Little Brother. He was the cause of much of our misery on Namek a few months back. He’s a mad-man. Madmen can’t be trusted…”
Oh how true that was. Considering he’d once trusted Vocado – those words were just as equally to himself as it was to the other. As Yogu flew away, he’d nod and then turn to Chime directly.
“…But I see you have your hands full and finding allies in this current climate may be tough. Im sorry I didn’t listen to you clearly. I knew you said it had been a problem but the Dragon Balls causing this much pain? I…”
He was once again at a loss for words. He wanted to make everything better with a speech but he knew that words alone would not fix this scenario. Instead, he did what he knew he could – what others had done for him. He offered his assistance.
“…If it’s all the same to you, if you’d have me, I’ll stick around for a while. Ensure your safety and to make sure Earth’s Dragon Balls are also safe. We’ll right the wrongs that have occurred here…and I will do my best to assist where I Can. You’re not alone, Little Brother. Me, The Brothers…we’re here for you…”
Turning to the Kai, Dorei, Oboe would offer a kind smile before nodding; “and to you, Venerable Kai, Thank you for your intervention. Since you do not work for free, perhaps you and I can speak more on what I could offer for your assistance. I doubt this’ll be the last time the Guardian of Earth here would be placed in danger and I’d feel much better knowing a Kai is watching out for him as opposed to that Maniacal Squid.”
Bending down, leaning forward, Oboe would grasp hold of one of the Orange Spheres – holding it in his palm. This was the first time he’d seen the Earth’s Dragon Balls and – to be honest – their smaller size caused an amused Chuckle to escape his lips. So similar, yet so different. Counting the stars on the sphere, he noted it was the Four-Star Ball.
“Perhaps, we should each take one of these for protecting. After-all, no point leaving them here for others to recover. Far too dangerous for anyone else to hold them…”
Oboe Attempts to Exit; Attempts to Gain Possession of the Four-Star Ball.

Of all the things Chime was expecting to happen (Namely more energy blasts, explosions, pain) Vocado falling to his knees in the sand wasn't one of them. The Saiyan collapsed, muttering to himself, and the words would have been lost under the thunder and the rain, if not for Chime's Namekian ears. 'She'll never forgive me.' Who was 'she'? Another ally Chime wasn't aware of yet? He was fairly sure he couldn't mean Kayen, and he wasn't about to ask Vocado, at least not now, in the middle of battle. The Dragon Balls rolled out of Vocado's pack and before anyone could react, he was throwing them into the air in an (admittedly clever) distraction. The three orbs were thrown into the sky and the light of his ki-blast refracted through their orange crystal, creating a blinding flash.
It took a moment or two for Chime to regain his vision to see, with spots still dancing in his eyes, Vocado and Cress flying off into the distance across the ocean. They were fast, already just shapes on the horizon, and Chime knew he had no hope of catching them. Still, he ran out to the edge of the beach beside Yogu to watch them go. He didn't shout after them like his ghostly friend did, but the hatred in his face as he watched them go was telling enough. With a sigh, he looked up at Yogu, "Getting back to the Lookout sounds good. We'll bring the Dragon Balls, and plan more once we reconvene. I'll meet you there." With a nod, he let Yogu fly off, then turned to the others. The aura around him faded as he turned, and once he faced them again, his eyes were their usual brown once more.
Chime wasn't sure who (or what) these 'men' were that Kraktus spoke of. Underlings, he assumed. He simply nodded again before the squid-man took his leave, "I'm sure we'll meet again on a battlefield like this one, soon. As long as we're firing at the same enemy, you'll have no problems from me." Which was not technically a lie. He had no plan to backstab Kraktus before this whole Dragon Ball hunt was over. But once it was? Well...they wouldn't be fighting a mutual enemy anymore, now would they?
That left only Oboe and the shinjin named Dorei. Addressing Oboe, he said, "I don't trust him, don't worry about that. I'd simply rather have as few people trying to kill me and mine as possible. If he wants to be our 'ally' for the time being, then sure. I could use more of them." The hard expression he'd been wearing throughout this whole encounter softened slightly, almost imperceptibly, "...That includes you, of course. You don't need to ask. You're welcome here as long as you like, crisis or not." As Oboe took up the four-star ball, he hesitated, "...I don't really believe in luck, Oboe, but if any of the seven is cursed, it's that one. Be careful with it."
The stern look returned to his face as Chime turned to Dorei, "...No offense, shinjin, but I'll be taking both of these." He gestured to the remaining one and two-star balls, "Regardless of what you are or where you come from, I don't really know you. I appreciate you helping us scare them off, but I can't trust you with these on that alone. If you truly do want to keep helping, meet us back at the Lookout. You said you're a mercenary, right? I'll tell you up front I can't grant you a wish, that's already spoken for, but I'm one of the most powerful mages on Earth. Not to brag or anything, there just aren't a lot of magic-users about. I'm sure I could pay you back with something just as good as a wish."
With that, Chime would materialize a bag around the one and two-star balls, tie that bag to his belt and, if not stopped, fly north-west, through the driving rain towards the Lookout.
Chime returns to base form (130,000pl) Then attempts to take the 1 and 2 star DBs, and attempts to exit!

Dorei simply lowered his stance as he saw his opponents retreating, a simply sigh escaping his lips. He supposed he didn't blame them for running, the tide was not in the favor. Yet some part of him was frustrated yet it was washed away quickly as he heard the ghost boy screaming. It seemed they were far more upset than he was that this was happening and as such he simply held out his hand where a jacket would appear from the air, created by his magic. The shinjin soon putting it on before closing his eyes and searching his pockets for his cigarettes.
This whole venture had been a waste of time, and he had only just wasted valuable time coming here. His eyes looking at the balls as Oboe picked one up, the shinjin simply shrugging at the man's words. He didn't really care about this whole thing anymore. He simply stared at the horizon as the namekian picked up the balls and then offered his service as a mage. Dorei simply looked at him without a word, some part of him wondered if Chime was being a smart ass, but he supposed the boy couldn't know Dorei was proficient at magic himself.
Yet once all was gone, Dorei was left standing there watching them all leave. He wondered if he had made the right choice even bothering with the dragon balls. If he hadn't shown up, he felt that the others would have been fine. With a sigh, Dorei simply started lazily drifting off to the east, deciding he was done with the dragon balls. It was a waste of time and money was to be made else where.
