Scallio's life had recently taken several drastic turns and all within only a few day's time. The most interesting of which, aside from his shameful retreat from Ginger Town. Something he was still furious and recovering from. Was his partnership with the exiled prince Vocado.
The former saiyan royalty had enlisted the mercenary's aide in his hunt for the Dragon Balls. His wish, for the Tree of Might, had swayed Scallio to his cause. Scallio hadn't been the only one the prince had managed to recruit, however. He had two other Saiyans on his side.
One of which Scallio recently arranged a meeting within the forest surrounding Mount Paozu.
He'd have met Cress elsewhere, either on his ship or in one of Earth's many cities or towns. But his attack on Ginger Town had done more than just wound his pride. It had brought unwanted attention to his doorstep. While he didn't care, he couldn't risk his conversation with Cress being overheard by the wrong people.
Scallio arrived at the location of their meeting early, largely just to blow off steam before Cress arrived. Having become quite familiar with the mountain since he'd come to Earth. Scallio knew that it was home to some fairly challenging creatures to hunt.
The tail ends of his waistcloth dragged through the forest foliage as he weaved between the trees. He'd spotted a pack of raptors nearby when'd begun his descent into the forest. He could still hear them close by, tearing into the carcass of a recent kill. A perfect chance to catch them off guard while they were eating. Instinctively he suppressed his energy down to a nominal level as he drew closer to them.
He spotted them only moments later, and just a few meters directly ahead of him. Scallio kicked off the ground and lunged towards the raptor closest to him. His hand gripped around the dinosaur's tail and in one fluid motion, Scallio yanked the raptor back to him and moved his hand from its tail to the back of its head. A pulse of ki from the palm of his hand and the creature's head exploded in a gory mess.
His energy no longer suppressed and his presence known to the raptors they scattered in surprise."Fuck." that hadn't turn out how he'd expected it to.

Cress flicked a couple of stones into the air and made a finger gun with his hand, proceeding to quickly blast multiple falling stones until his scouter beeped, notifying him that there was a new message. "Scallio huh?" From what he could tell his fellow saiyan was not too far from his jungle home. Scallio wanted to have a meeting with him. 'Why not.' Cress freed up his hand and let the couple stones that remained fall to the ground. He'd be back later.
He stood up and looked back at the boulder he'd made his seat various times now. 'I should find a way to make this softer sometime since I sit on it so often.' Once he locked in on Scallio with his scouter he kicked off the ground and into the sky, flying towards the saiyan male.
Not Too Long After...
Cress was almost on scene, the circle representing Scallio's location quickly growing in size now. He landed about a dozen feet away from the saiyan and would make his presence known if it wasn't already. "What's up, Scallio? I haven't seen you since back on Namek." His arms would have crossed while he talked.

Cress had arrived shortly after Scallio's little hunting mishap. If the other Saiyan had noticed he'd opted not to say anything and it was appreciated. "Cress." Scallio nodded, "Has it really been since Namek? Man, that was a while ago." the last time he remembered being on Namek was at least a month ago. "A lot's happened since then." perhaps that's why it felt like a lifetime ago. "Anyway," the mercenary folded his arms against his chest.
"You'll have to forgive my lack of explanation in my message. You never know who might be monitoring those things." according to Narissa at least and Scallio tended to trust her when it came to things like that."What I wanted to talk with you about is something I'm sure neither you or are mutual friend want just anybody knowing."
Scallio was aware that they both knew a lot of the same people. He simply figured that Cress would understand who he meant when he'd mentioned there mutual friend. "Before we get into any of that I have something unless that I'd like to ask you." it was an important question and one that had been on his mind since he'd talked with Vocado. "Can you transformation into a Super Saiyan?" he needed to know. Scallio had to know just how far behind the others he was.

"Yes, it has." It may have felt like a shorter amount of time had passed by him. Surely because of the major setback of him being frozen in ice for the first half of the previous year. He was making a comeback though, thankfully. He could not help but think "what if" sometimes, even though he tried to leave the past as just that: the past. There was no changing what had happened to him. "A lot more will happen soon if things go right."
Scallio was on about scouters now. He'd never thought much about the safety of using them but he was sure he had a secure line on his, after all, it was custom made. "I can understand you wishing to be cautious. And yes, more people knowing about our plans would risk all that we've worked for. As powerful as we are we can't take on everyone." That was the truth. But when they got there wish... then it would be a different story.
Did Scallio really not know if he could transform into a super saiyan or not? Well, he probably wouldn't be asking if he didn't. Or maybe he just wanted to see up close. "Yes, I can." Whatever it was, he would still transform from him anyway. With little effort Cress' hair would flash from black to yellow and his pupils from dark brown to a greenish-blue color.

He'd seen the transformation at least four times now and every time it had left him feeling the same. Awestruck by its power and frustrated he'd yet to obtain it himself, "So I'm the only one who can't then." the mercenary's right hand curled into a tightly wound fist. He'd expected as much but that didn't make it sting any less, truthfully it only made the irritation for the situation and the disappointment in himself worse.
"I'm a fucking liability." he admitted bitterly and with a heavy frown. It was only going to be a matter of time before everyone around him managed to surpass him at this rate. He couldn't afford to let that happen, especially now.
Scallio sighed, his hand loosening as he brought it up to pinch at the bridge of his nose. "Sorry, it's just exasperating being so far behind." another frustrated breath escaped Scallio's lips. "But I didn't ask you here to listen to me mope." that would have just been a waste of Cress's time not to mention Scallio's own.

Cress could hear the frustration in Scallio's voice as he reminded Cress that he was the only one he couldn't. "Use your frustration and anger to become stronger. You're power level will need to be somewhere around 100,000 to transform into a super saiyan- under the right conditions. That's my educated guess." he says after quickly looking to and from Scallio's fist.
Scallio was beating himself up over this, and Cress would not be the one to comfort with him. "Constantly seek out people to fight and fight until you can no more until you've eventually broken your limits. This is the best advice I can give."
Scallio apologized and Cress frowned. "Do not apologize. Not to me, not to anyone." Cress' golden glow fades as he returns back to base form. "Now, what did you want to talk to me about?" he asks before immediately getting an idea the second he shut his mouth. Before Scallio even had the chance to answer, he spoke again. "Better yet, fight and tell me."
Cress grins and positions himself, forming a near impenetrable fighting stance. He would go easy on Scallio though- to a certain extent. Too easy and he'd not progress as much. CRESS' POWER LEVEL IS NOW 152,000 |
