ACTIVE TRANSFORMATIONS: Mastered Super Saiyan (x16P) |
While others continued to arrive - Chime and Carro being among the most notable arrivals, and even the Guru of Namek had somehow made his way from the far off planet - Nashua's attention remained affixed on the former King of the Saiyans. His own stone gaze became fixed upon her as well, and he seemed to absorb each of her words with a certain twinge of his facial expression. Though those who may have known him less may have seen his apparent confidence as he began to speak as boldness, or even a certain level of courage in the face of such a great adversity, Nashua could see past the thin veil that lay over what really went on behind the mask: he was actually quite terrified that his comedy of errors had culminated in this. An uprising of some of the strongest warriors of the galaxy all united in the name of putting an end to his schemes.
"And if there's any regret of my own, it's for not reaching out my hand for you sooner," Nashua replied to his harsh statement, the anger on her face giving way to the briefest moment of sadness. Maybe if she'd been more focused on actually being there for him after his defeat at the hands of Kayen, then it wouldn't have led to all... This. He'd seemed okay enough at their last meeting on Namek, but by the time she saw him again on Earth, he'd changed. He just wasn't the man he was before. If only there were some way they could just suck the evil out of him and return him to the man he was before- Wait a second. Nashua's head darted over towards Chime. Chime had that ability, didn't he? He'd used it on that Monster thing! "Chime, you have to use your evil vacuum thing o-" Nashua started to say, though she was interrupted by the head that had bashed directly into her own.
The brief lapse of focus on her current enemy had cost her as she fell back in a slight daze, giving her former King enough time to tightly wrap his hands around her neck and thrust her like a throwing ball towards the two sacred Namekians. Nashua couldn't tell whether she'd made contact with them or not as she spun wildly from the momentum he'd tossed her at, though, as she was sent careening down into the wastes near the mountain's valley. She supposed that was her thanks for thinking of ways to resolve this without vaporizing him, but that didn't mean she was done yet. The angry mob of the galaxy's finest would just need some... Convincing.
Nashua is thrust off towards Vocado's split!

"Aha!" She struck gold! Suri found a capsule containing cooking supplies! As Suri pulled out a kitchen blowtorch and attempted to melt the ice around the frozen Heran, she had the chance to have a proper look around her.
The area around her was quite the battleground at this point, riddled with craters and full of fighters... So many had arrived. Some were people Suri knew of but not knew personally, while others she didn't even recognize. Regardless, it was obvious to Suri that she had come to a place with a dangerous conflict going on involving many well known, powerful people. Saiyans, and Saiyan royalty, those she could see had achieved the legendary Super Saiyan transformations. Suri had only read or heard about the power, but she didn't even have time to be properly surprised to see them for the first time. "Jeez, this seems like it's gonna be really baaaad! I need to find Dion, quick... C'mon, hurry up and melt, why isn't this ice melting at all?!" Praying for the fire to do something to the ice, Suri took another nervous glance above. There was also that person-shaped android with them, that Yogu guy she had heard about from mutual friends, and...
Then Suri heard a voice in her mind, which had a message, directed at all the Warriors of Mount Frappe. The mountain being attacked, was that why everyone was here? Well, Suri didn't want to harm it, but protecting it wasn't her main concern either... And the telepathic voice, was that Chime, the Kami that she had heard so much about? The guardian was certainly the only one she was able to think of who could and would make that kind of announcement with telepathy. Regardless, Suri needed to ask him for help! 'I-Is that you, Kami-sama?? Thank goodness you're here! L-Listen, I think some innocent people may have gotten themselves wrapped up in this situation. I found a lady incased in ice on the ground, and I saw my friend heading this way too... If you're able to, please hel-'
Her thoughts were stopped by the arrival of Reno, the Earthling stranger she had encountered a few days ago. He got himself involved in this too, and his friend?! Reno had been friendly last time they had met, and just like Dion or the Heran next to her, Suri didn't wish for him to get harmed either, at least not any more than he already may have been. "Reno... No, I'll carry her. You seem weary enough already." Suri paused, before nodding. "I'm staying! I'm looking for my friend too... If I see your friend, I'll try to help her too, okay?"
And as Reno took off, Suri did as well, heading towards the mountain, hoping she'd find Dion too. On the way, Suri stopped by a bear's den, empty due to its occupant fleeing. Suri placed the ice statue-ified Heran inside, along with a portable heater she had with her. "The torch was making zero progress... Still, hopefully this will keep you warm for as long as the battery lasts... I have to go, but I'll be back for you!" Suri said to Narissa, and she turned around to start flying...only to see a ki blast headed toward them!
Suri instinctively activated her natural icy aura, and soccer-kicked the energy ball to the side. It had come from the newly-created hole in the mountain, so that was the fight Reno was talking about. Suri was now feeling colder than she had ever felt, but she had no time to make another coat for herself. The hoodie would have to do. Suri jetted off towards the mountain's cave, now able to fly at her full speed.
"Dion... I've come to get you out of this!"
Suri activated her Icy Aura (x1/x3P).
Suri leaves Narissa near the mountain, before she goes to join the mountain split! Suri's PL: 100,000/300,000

He had to admit, The assembled warriors whom had come to stand against the destruction of Mt. Frappe were a sight to behold. Even those who maybe couldn’t feel or realize the depth they had just plunged into stood at the ready, eager to defend their home. In some ways, he wished Namek was like that – but his people were peaceful, they didn’t seek war. It seemed, at this moment, the Saiyans were outnumbered by many; Yet the one whom had arrived before he and Chime? That one…took the greatest of attentions.
A malformation of his original state, seemingly both himself and not himself, Carro – President of Earth – Had arrived with power overwhelming! Was that really even Carro? As the young man spoke, Oboe’s heightened hearing picked up every word – from Murderer to the fact that he’d Died?! Was this what Chime had meant when he said their Magic couldn’t help him? The President had shown an affinity for machines, with the Plexbot demonstration, but never would he have imagined someone capable of such…integration with technology! It was nearly offensive in some ways; it defied the natural order in some ways…and yet…another part of him found it incredible. His desire to know more about this intensifying.
The situation was shifting as Earth’s Defenders rose to fight. Still, in the presence of such intense super-powers, was the might of those assembled truly enough? Could they truly hold off the might of a Freshly Turned Super Saiyan? He didn’t know much about the other figure, its spectral body hard to sense through the void, nor had he ever met the woman whom followed through demanding a great amount of attention. She too seemed familiar with those in attendance, and the regal way she approached gave a feeling of importance to her airs.
From that point forward, everything erupted with speeds he could only just react to. Without warning Vocado was upon Nashua, launching her by the neck at he and Chime. The warrior woman would slam into him at such speeds he could barely keep his eyes open, unsure if she’d impacted against his little brother. All he knew was the tumultuous appearance of Earths spiraling in his now opening eyes as his form was sent hurtling slightly ahead of Nashua – impact having ensured his forward momentum. Quickly and swiftly flipping back into control of his body, the Guru of Namek would out stretch his arms, wider than normal, and attempt to catch Nashua and slow her speed.
“Hang on! I Got ya!” He yelled,
It seemed to him the Battle was about to begin. Though he was unsure as to right now what had happened to make Vocado such a wanted man, he knew what he did have to do. He had to ensure the safety of those whom did not mean to harm the Earth. If there was a way to settle this without bloodshed? Of course, he always hoped for such things. The man whom desired peace before conflict never wished to raise his hands in war – yet times were changing, actions were being made that could not be ignored. It seemed; the good man could stay neutral no longer. As he slowed his speeds – hopefully with his outstretched arms wrapped safely around the hurtling Saiyan, he would stare daggers at the one who’d initated all of this.
Why Vocado had shifted his intent to wickedness Oboe did not know, nor did he care. Simply Put – he would uphold his comments about being there in Earth’s hour of Need. To him, his word was the only thing left he had.

Post by Chime on Feb 4, 2020 14:35:42 GMT -6
Only moments after his message was sent out, Chime felt a familiar presence fly up beside him. He didn't even need to look to know who it was; he'd known Oboe was following right behind him, after all. Still, Chime turned to give the older Namekian a nod, "Thank you, brother. You didn't have to stay here on Earth, helping out, but I'm glad you have. This is... a lot." He looked down over the sheer mass of the crowd assembled here at the mountain, and spoke just loud enough for Oboe to hear over the cold wind.
And still more arrived on the scene. The Shinjin Dorei appeared out of the sky, bursting down into the snow like a comet. Chime narrowed his eyes. He was still unsure of the shinjin's true intentions, but so long as the self-proclaimed mercenary didn't harm Chime or his people, they would have no issue, beyond the Kami's guarded paranoia. Kayen held a similar opinion in his mind, and she arrived to scold Vocado, similar to how Nashua had. She didn't power up though, not like so many around them...but then again, neither had Chime himself. Seconds later, yet another figure appeared, and this one dominated Chime's attention.
Blazing like an orange and green star was a figure he both recognized instantly and not at all. The silhouette was Carro's, with his distinctive hair and tail and all, looking more like he had when he was alive, but wrapped in LEO's distinct orange ki. But where the feeling of LEO's warm, comforting energy usually was, there was nothing, absorbed into the emerald heart of Carro's android form. A cold star. It was a sight that disturbed him, but also amazed him. Chime's face had been schooled into a stern mask in recent days, but this broke it a crack, and he looked on Carro and LEO's fusion with open awe. He'd meant to say something, but no words came out.
The Fusion had plenty to say in his stead. LEO and Carro's voices, overlapped in unison, identifying the newest Super Saiyan as the one responsible for the recent assault on Ginger Town. Chime had heard about the incident after the fact, but hadn't gotten many details. Now, the pieces began to fall into place. He was a thug, another one of Vocado's goons, or at least similar enough to be allied in this moment. The man's response to his telepathic message was strange, though. He was here to kill 'an arcosian', one who had apparently killed someone else in turn. Someone important to Scallio, if his reaction was any indication.
Finally, his focus was able to return to Vocado, man of the hour. The Saiyan was plainly shaken by the sheer amount of warriors that had shown up, but still he laughed and taunted them. Maybe a strange coping mechanism, Chime mused to himself. Vocado mocked the gathered group, saying how much of a number he'd done on Chime's forces. Chime only met his mad gaze with a stony one of his own and replied, deadpan, "Yes. You did."
The words had barely left his mouth before Vocado was moving. He was always so damn fast. Nashua was grabbed before any of them could move and sent hurtling toward Chime and Oboe both. The Guru was faster than the Kami, and caught Nashua as before she could hit him. The two continued their rapid descent towards the ground, and on his other side, Yogu and Vocado zoomed after them in a blur of punches and kicks. Chime was about to fly down after them, but was stopped by a voice in his head. Two, in fact. Replies to his telepathic message. He only recognized one voice, Aurora, the icy Arcosian he'd met in the woods, but they both seemed to know who he was. Their requests were more or less the same: Help us. As Chime listened, something rumbled within the mountain, where they were calling for help from. The people of distant Jingle Town might think it just an earthquake or an avalanche, but he knew better. The battle was underway.
Before him was the mountain, and within it a number of people, strangers to him or nearly so, many of them dwarfed by the massive powers at play here. The people of Earth, quite literally asking for Kami's help. Below him was the tundra, where Vocado was likely already exchanging blows with Nashua, Yogu, and Oboe. The enemy that had killed his friends, and planned to destroy his world. In his mind, he knew where he should go, what side of the battle he should aid, but his heart pulled him to the other. In the end, as he had every time before, Chime listened to his heart. He met Carro and LEO's mismatched eyes across the sky for a moment...then dropped into a controlled fall, towards the tundra, and Vocado.
"I'm going after him," He'd speak into Carro's mind as he fell, "But there's a lot of people inside the mountain. Someone's frozen, it sounds bad. You need to help them, you're stronger than I am, anyway. And--" He could see the figures below him now, growing from dark specks into distinct individuals. He was almost there.
"...Please be careful."
Chime uses [UT] Telepathy to talk to Carro Then he splits into Vocado's thread!

FUSED CARRO's PL: 4,401,452 (x22P ACTIVE | ANTISENSE)
The President expected nothing, and yet he still found himself disappointed. It wasn't hard to see through Vocado's bravado- while his sanity was debatable, Carro was certain he had enough brains to understand the gravity of the situation. It was five of the galaxy's greatest against one as karama came knocking at the fallen king's door for payment. His expression remained narrowed, yet void of anger as Vocado mocked him. He seemed more annoyed and tired than anything else. "Well, at least I can't say I didn't give you a chance..."
Another voice earned the fused leaders' attentions as the last of the fighters filed into the scene. "Kayen." Carro and LEO's voices greeted back, straightening his posture. The Queen of all Saiyans didn't seem to be taking the whole thing seriously. He didn't respond to her question- he barely had the chance to as Scallio yelled out again, proclaiming that he wasn't going to let Kayen's orders stop him this time. The android turned to give Kayen a stink-eye. Really, his expression said. You're just going to let this keep happening? Somehow, his trust in Kayen's abilities as a leader crumbled even more. How many traitors were they up to now? Four? Five? Too many, that was how much.
A snap in the air diverted his focus again as Vocado was the first to lash out to attack Nashua, with Chime, Oboe, and Yogu following in tow. He turned to follow, but froze in the air... He felt compelled to follow to give the saiyan a piece of his own mind, but kais almighty was it already complete and utter overkill. A voice in his head affirmed his apprehension. 'Will do. Looks like you've got more than enough hands on deck over there to handle things anyways... And don't forget he has something of ours. Take it back.' Their internal telepathy called back to Chime. One bit in particular caught his attention- someone was frozen? A brief scan of the mountainscape below later, he spotted a vaguely familiar woman locked in ice... Was this the dead Scallio was referring to? If the persisting energy from the encased Narissa was any indicator on his Scouter, her murderous friend was sorely mistaken.
Be careful, Chime pleaded one last time in his mind. Carro turned, eyeing the distant visages of his friends and his enemy. '...We will. You be careful too, friend.'
It was go time now- do or die, and he refused to let another one of Earth's people fall as long as his soul persisted. Step one was to free the still-frozen Narissa and quell Scallio as quickly as possible. Step two, rush into the mountain to help the other Earthlings- step three, give Vocado what he sorely deserved.
Quickly Carro descended down to Narissa's frozen form- though the ice made it hard to get accurate readings, a vital scan from LEO's sensors pointed to the Heran still being alive. The scans in his vision dismissed in favor of more precise displays and searches- frostbite treatments, the ideal places to melt away at the ice. Carro was already familiar with precise handiwork from his work as an engineer, and he had enough medical experience to handle this fairly safely. The precision and focus of a machine was just a cherry on top. "If you could focus on anything aside from senseless bloodlust for five seconds," He didn't turn to look at Scallio or Kayen, arms still extended and flickering with ki to melt away at the ice. "Maybe you would have noticed that your friend's not dead yet."
Carro doesn't split off and stays in the main thread for now. Non-KP energy used to attempt to thaw out Narissa! Scouter used to sense her energy and discern thus that she aint deaded yet also. --------------------- folks left to post/split in no particular order: Russe, Amara, Dorei, Kayen

Russé PL: 45,000 (suppressed to 5)
Dion warning Russé he could very well be killed wasn't going to deter the half sayian away from the conflict. "You got that right, I'm not gonna leave ya'll behind so don't even think about convincing me to go home" smirking in anticipation of the battle of a lifetime, where ever his friends and allies would go, the half saiyan will be sure be there to follow. Russé is teased with the idea of going super saiyan and slapped on the back in a playful gesture to either comfort the male or to give himself reassurance things will be okay, most likely its both. "I'm not making any promises, as long as we watch each other's back we'll make it out safe and sound" smiling with confidence and giving Dion a thumbs up, however that confidence took a nosedive the moment additional forces arrived with absurdly large power levels. Dion's body language didn't go unnoticed by the hybrid and who can blame him, the uncertainty of who is friend or foe is made more apparent, all of them are capable There are about two powerhouses he could recognize and one of them is Nashua and from his current knowledge him and Dion are on good terms with her, if she of all people showed up this fight is going to be a bloodbath. [That energy..Nashua is here..] eyebrows furrowed while facing that general direction, the other strong signature is Suri who's come to aid them. Russé gave her a silent smile and a nod to greet her. Suddenly a voice not belonging his own is speaking through the young boy's mind to either defend the mountain or leave if they are going to harm it or get in the way of the crossfire. "Whoever you are, I'm here to protect my friends, if you want me to protect this mountain too then consider it done" replying to Chime. Aurora encouraged the boys to get behind her wings and there is a good reason why he didn't have any problems with being protected, the injured wicked-looking saiyan in front of them is going to need some serious convincing to spare their lives. The half saiyan allowed Aurora to speak with the ghostly monkey and he told Russé and Dion to go away, deciding they were a pest, too weak to nick his finger. Pests!? Excuse Me!? Two more warriors showed up and giving Kalabas a piece of his mind, Dion didn't take kindly to being called a pest either, throwing daggers of words back at him. "That's rich coming from someone who's in poor condition, sorry pal but I'm not going anywhere, I was told to keep this mountain intact and we aren't gonna let anything happen to it" Russé throwing words of his own. stating his intentions. Reno tries to convince Kalabas they didn't need to fight and Russé pulled out a group photo of himself and his two close friends from way back, staring fondly with silence. Putting the photo away his attention is back to Kalabas who sealed off a hole he created from some weird looking tendrils, perking up the hybrid's curiosity on the origin of such an ability, not that it really matters. [Aww man, Tysco and Morticia are gonna kill me if I survive this battle, especially Cia..] smiling sheepishly about getting a lecture from the doragoness. Russé stood his ground refusing to budge, deciding to raise his energy back up to prepare for whats to come. Russé joins the Mountain Squad! Power level: 45,000

Just as quick as everyone assembled on the mountain they just as quickly began to break off, a good portion of the weaker warriors that Kayen was less familiar with were heading more directly into the mountain, in the general direction of the power signature that Scallio had been fighting against, while the ones Kayen was VERY familiar with were taking off in pursuit of Vocado as he more or less slammed Nashua away before Kayen or Nashua had any real chance to communicate, granted Kayen was fairly certain it would have had to be her to be the one to call out to her as Nashua’s attention was squarely focused on Vocado. For now Kayen would let them work on Vocado, Nashua was more than powerful enough that Kayen was certain she could handle the former King and ultimately she had more drive to take him down, Kayen certainly would not decline a chance to kick Vocado’s ass again but outside of the potential threat he posed due to his theoretical revived interest in the throne and his eagerness to acquire the Tree Kayen had no NEED to fight him, she had won their last fight, she had nothing to ‘prove’ against him. But Nashua definitely seemed to have some very genuine interest in beating him down. “Scallio, Scallio, Scallio” Kayen shook her head with an almost amused smirk as she floated closer to the agitated Super Saiyan “You’re so promising but you really DO need to get a better grasp of how I react to things. I didn’t come here to stop you or punish you” Kayen reached out to place a hand on his shoulder “I made my way here to help you, maybe not quite with destroying the mountain, that’s probably not strictly NECESSARY but that’s also not what’s important right now. I’m here because I felt your transformation and wanted to congratulate you on it and make sure whatever prompted it did not also lead to your death. That power is strong, but we don't live in a world where it makes you unbeatable. The fact this power came at the expense of Narissa is bad, but I’ll make sure you have your chance at vengeance”It was then that Carro arrived to inform them that Narissa was not YET dead, Kayen raised an eyebrow and focused her attention on the ‘dead’ Narissa she tapped her scouter a few times to force it to re-calibrate what it detected until finally it treated the admittedly faint and growing fainter power as relevant to be treated as ‘alive’ “Carro’s right, her power is faint but still present meaning she IS alive, I’ll call in the Stormbreaker, Barb and the others can get her to the med bay once she’s free” Assuming she survived being thawed out, Carro seemed to have precise enough control of his power to do the job, far better than Kayen likely could at the very least. “I’m glad you stuck around here Carro, I’m sure you would have preferred kicking Vocado’s face in right now.” Though from what she knew it was CRESS that Carro likely REALLY wanted a piece of “it’s unfortunate Cress isn’t present, we could have solved this whole thing far more quickly” it also raised the concern of what Cress might be doing if he WASN'T here aiding Vocado in what was certainly the former King’s hour of need.

Dorei watched as all the chaos around him began to unfold. The number of fighters that showed up were astonishing, but in the end he supposed it made sense. He lowered his guard as he watched all the different fighters split off, some arguing with each other while others simply gave words of encouragement. The Shinjin said nothing as he simply kept an eye on everyone, watching closely and waiting for his opening. After all, that was what he was best at, watching for an opening till it was clear to strike.
Yet when Vocado went off with the others, Dorei could only sigh as he watched the other fighters go about their business. It was all very personal, each having their own views upon this battle. Dorei on the other hand had no real dog in this fight other than he was working with Oboe at this point. No payment had been made, and no job was currently in full swing... but he supposed he should help the man.
So with that, Dorei took to hovering before taking off after the others, silent as he had arrived, he followed just as silently.

Amazingly, Amara wasn't even close to the last person who decided to show up at the 'Frigid Mountain Brawl™' today. Staying silent, the disguised Stargoon watched apathetically for a bit as the (hopefully) rest of the people flooded into the area. A blue-haired maybe human, icy gray Majin, a Saiyan, and a pair of Namekians decided to grace the area with their presence. Her gaze passed over them in an uncaring manner, recognition absent as most of them were completely new to her. The only two that peeked her interested somewhat were the new Saiyan and the second Namekian, the former being one of the strongest currently present and actually deciding to engage with the hovering group of golden monkeys in a hostile manner - while the latter was a face and tone she recognized. Oboe, the Guru of Namek. Not like they had spoken or anything actually lasting during the spat on the green ball, but perhaps it'd be nice simply for familiarity.
She might've missed the other Namekian, had Amara been focused on literally anything else besides actively searching for any yet-to-be evaluated power signatures. It was small and she almost missed it, but Amara was easily able to link it to the sudden wave of telepathic speech. A smile tugged at her lips, faint memories of the child Belle coming to mind at the display. The other green slug went on some long-winded speech about goodness and ancient history and whatever the heck else mystical dudes liked to talk about. Amara didn't really care. She got the main message though - you were either with them or against them. Yet... the Saiyan wasn't exactly sure where she fell, if she even wanted to continue being here in the first place. To be frank, the whole situation looked a whole lot like 'not her problem' in the slightest. It'd be stupid to die here without Stargoon backup fighting for some chump cause.
Three more came, though they didn't catch the Stargoon's interest outside of yet another Saiyan armed with a sword that almost screamed 'I'm compensating'. Scoffing, Amara rose into the air silently, eyes narrowing at the distant sight of the strangely familiar Saiyan in the midst of the pack. She would've approached earlier, but the constant threat of getting blasted by the other yellow apes surrounding him was enough to deter her. Others took the initiative as she waited, punches and blasts flying to and fro as the congealed group began to splinter and crack, the Saiyan shell weakening as some were dragged into combat not in the immediate vicinity. Most of the weaklings went to swarm the innards of the mountain, though they quickly fell off Amara's radar as she recognized her chance.
She approached.
Not yet garbed in her vibrant Stargoon outfit - the armor stashed within the magic medallion hanging at her neck - it was unclear at a glance where the Saiyan's allegiance lay. Yet, she flew. Not slow enough to appear sneaky, and not quick enough to appear hostile. Simply at a steady pace until Amara came close enough that it finally clicked in her head, the Saiyan stopping a good few dozen meters away as her eyes widened. "You." The words were spoken calmly and with a measured beat, Amara stressing the last syllable as her gaze hardened. "Of all the places to find you, it's fighting on some random mountain and wearing... that damn thing." Scallio's armor felt like a personal insult. She didn't know if it was vintage or simply a replication, but the design was unmistakable. Endiver. Of course, there was the whole matter of him also being a Super Saiyan, but Amara couldn't care less. The whole 'legendary' form was almost a joke to her, what with every other Saiyan able to fucking pull it off nowadays.
No, Amara was far more concerned with the accursed gear he had on. Even the other two still in the area - some rather large robot and the other Saiyan - were ignored. "How have you been recently?" She asked icily. "Something had to have happened to give you a yellow perm." Amara made no move to attack, simply crossing her arms as she floated. If Scallio was the same brat he was last time, he'd be bringing any fight to her as soon as he realized she was here. It was unclear what the reaction of the other two would be if Scallio and her engaged in combat, but it probably would lean slightly away from her being the instigator given her current behavior.

1,604,176 / 1,203,132 PL - Narissa: 14,000 PL Things quickly began to spiral out of control and Scallio couldn't do anything to prevent it. He could only watch and listen as Vocado responded to his assailants. The fallen king was callous and confidant in the face of overwhelming odds. It was admirable, foolish maybe but respectable nonetheless. If only the enemy that stood before them was one that Scallio was eager to fight.
Chime, Oboe, and Carro weren't the issue, he'd stand at Vocado's side against them without hesitation. Nashua and Kayen on the other hand? That would be a difficult choice on Scallio's part. They had been his allies long before he'd made any type of deal with Vocado. Kayen in particular had done more for Scallio than anyone else in his life. While he wouldn't back down to get vengeance for Narissa, he didn't know if he'd make the same call for Vocado.
"Vocado, wait!" he shouted but he was too late to stop the Saiyan royal from charging Nashua. Scallio gritted his teeth, his eyes shifting as he tracked Vocado's movements. He was so fast that even as a super saiyan Scallio was barely able to keep up with him. Before he could even attempt to aid the king, Vocado was gone and he took several of the fighters with him. "Fuck." this wasn't going to end well for Vocado, Scallio could feel it.
That's when the capsule from Kabalas hit against his chest, "Senzu Candy Cane?" Scallio blinked uncertain of what he was supposed to do with it. He took a second to read the extra bit on the label and he grinned, "Well now isn't this nifty." he'd have to thanks Kalabas after this. That was assuming they both made it out of this cluster fuck alive of course. Scallio tucked the capsule into his pocket, he was hurt but if the claims on the label were true and it could heal even the most extreme of injuries, now wasn't the right time to use it.
Kayen said his name and Scallio turned to face the queen as she approached him. He expected her to be furious, especially after Ginger Town, but the expression on her face wasn't anger but amusement. It caught Scallio off guard but what happened next was entirely unexpected.
He looked at her hand on his shoulder and something in his chest grew tight. What was this feeling currently whelming up inside him? Pride? No, that wasn't it. That was certainly there but this feeling was something else, something foreign to him. It made his body feel warm and if he didn't know better he'd swear it felt like he wanted to cry. While he struggled with his feelings internally, the expression on his face showed exactly how he felt. His eyes were wide and filled with an awkward mix of joy, anger, and sorrow. It looked as though he'd finally heard something he'd been waiting his entire life to hear. "I don't know what to say," he admitted, "other than thank you that is." and for some reason that didn't feel like enough.
Carro announcing that Narissa was still alive drew Scallio's attention to the hybrid. "That's impossible! I watched her freeze because of that Arcosian's magic. I'm certain of it." had it not been for Kayen's confirmation Scallio might not have believed Carro. "He's really not lying!?" he dropped to the ground and dashed to Narissa's side. It was difficult to look at the horrified expression frozen on her face, painful even. Thankfully, due to Carro's efforts Scallio didn't have to look at it for long. In what was only a minute or two at most the ice around the Heran's body melted completely.
Scallio brushed Carro aside and caught Narissa in his arm as she collapsed towards the ground.
"Ugh." she moaned.
He pulled her closer and squeezed tightly, almost as if to make sure that she was really in his arms."I really thought I'd lost you." he whispered in relief, tears he couldn't keep back whelmed up in his eyes.
Narissa, barely conscious and trembling from the cold, wrapped her arms around the Saiyan. "Can't get rid of me" she muttered weakly.
"You're right, I should have known better."
"Scallio?"
"Yeah?"
"You're really warm...." Narissa whispered before her body went limp in Scallio's arms.
Silently, Scallio stood up from the ground with Narissa cradled tightly in his arms. He looked over to Carro, his cheeks stained with tears and a soft expression on his face. "Thank you for saving her Carro. You didn't have to do that, especially after what I did to Ginger Town." it wasn't an apology but it was as close to one as he was going to get. "But I need you to know this doesn't change anything. I'm still going to kill the Arcosian and anyone who tries to stop me." at least he was honest about it.
Scallio floated up into the sky and back to Kayen's side, arriving just as Amara made her presence known. He glared at his mother, his brow furrowing and his temper rising just from looking at her, "Mother." he said coldly. Scallio glanced down at his armor when she made reference to it. "You have a problem with the armor?" it took him a second to realize why. "Oh, right. It was his wasn't it?." his father had worn it so little that Scallio had forgotten it belonged to him in the first place. Just knowing she had an issue with it made Scallio want to say something simply to try and make her feel guilty. Glancing down at Narissa, however, caused the Saiyan to change his mind.
Scallio let out a heavy sigh and fought back against his impulses, "I almost lost the love of my life so why don't you tell me how I'm doing?" he frowned. "No, really, tell me. Because I don't know how to deal with any of this." he sighed again and his frown deepened.
"Actually, nevermind. I'm a bit busy right now, and as much fun as doing this would be I've got a Heran to heal, an Arcosian to kill, and a madman to save. So unless you want to be an actual mom for once and help me. I suggest you take off before I add you to my list of things to take care of."

While his focus remained on thawing out the Heran, Carro couldn't help but to sneer as he heard Kayen speak behind his back. She wanted to help her murderous lackey? His fists, still melting away at the magical ice, clenched for a moment... No, first things first, he had to save those that he was able to, starting with Narissa.
...The ice wasn't normal. Aside from being able to put up surprising resistance against his ki, a small fleck that fell onto him began to slowly spread. He flicked it off his palm easily, but frowned in realization. Magic.
Both saiyans approached after he announced Narissa's condition. He was finishing up with the ice when Kayen spoke to him directly, mentioning both of his killers. So she knew. "Eh." Carro bluntly responded, seemingly uncaring about both murderers. He'd prioritize revenge over protecting the day holding a grudge did anyone any good in the long-term. But the Queen did have a point that made Carro's form tense in worry. Where was Cress? Cowering against the odds, or up to something nefarious while their backs were turned...?
First things first, there were present worries to address before he devolved into speculative overthinking. Scallio was still intent to kill and destroy, but that alone wasn't what made Carro groan in frustration and exhaustion- it was his proclaimation to save the madman, Vocado. They were in kahoots. "Of course you're one of his..." Why wouldn't Scallio be part of the tree-gang with his luck? It was starting to feel like Vocado had more support then the actual queen as a leader at this point. There was another saiyan- apparently Scallio's mother. They didn't seem to be on the best terms... "And here I was thinking folks finally stopped filing in this brawl." He sighed. "Whose side are you on, now?"
After questioning Amara, though, Carro couldn't let the elephant in the room keep sitting there. "...Kayen, while a proper meeting between us is necessary soon, I'm going to be honest here. If your desire for an alliance was a ploy, please just say it to my face already." At least Vocado was blunt about being a schemer. Did Kayen think she could continue to play him like a fiddle? The only people she had to defend Earth from was her own, and yet even that was going quite poorly. "You already speak on the side of someone helping your other traitorous rejects when we hardly know the full story, nor do we have a source that is both trustworthy and conscious to receive it from." The fusion glanced down to Narissa in particular before glaring suspiciously at Scallio. "For all you and I know, Queen, the Arcosian is only guilty of self-defense on this day." Carro had seen first-hand how emotional a freshly crowned Super Saiyan could be before. Regardless of if his rage was justified or not, the President had little doubt that they didn't have the full story.
Before either could speak in response to him, though, Carro turned with a snarl. "--And don't you DARE think of pulling the attempted murder card in front of a murder victim to use as justification for her execution." Not only was Scallio guilty of the same on a larger scale thanks to Ginger Town, but Carro had faced death before. "Nobody will be killing any Arcosian or any Earthling today if you want to save any of the trust I have lost in you and your people. Am I clear?"

“Narissa is tough, if she were weaker whatever this Aurora did to trap her in ice might have done the job, but with her level of strength her internal power was likely able to keep her alive in spite of being frozen, were it not for Carro she probably WOULD have frozen internally in time” Kayen said once more backing up Carros assertion that Narissa was alive, and with every moment that Carro thawed her out the Heran’s power began to decline less as less power was needed to keep her warm and alive as her conditions improved. Kayen grinned as Narissa awoke from her frozen slumber and the pair took a few moments to speak, all the while another power signature approached, one of the more potent ones that Kayen had picked up on but not recognized, the woman that approached definetly seemed like a Saiyan but was not one she recognized despite Kayen making a genuine effort to at least become passably aware of all the fighters of exceptional power in the Kingdom, meaning either she had flown under the radar, or she was not apart of the Kingdom. While she and Carro did not know the woman based off of Carro’s annoyed questions directed at her it was pretty clear SHE knew Scallio and likely Scallio knew her due to the familiarity with which she addressed him, as she made her approach Kayen watched carefully as Scallio returned and grew VERY tense at the sight of the woman, Kayen was VERY surprised when Scallio then addressed her as ‘Mother’ Carro had some choice words for Kayen that pulled part of her attention as Scallio and his mother spok, and at least on some level she couldn't blame Carro. Things were definitely a bit of a clusterfuck and it DID look pretty bad. “We may not know each other that well yet Carro, but I think from our interactions and what you likely know of me beyond them, that this sort of thing isn’t my style. If I wanted Earth I wouldn't play games with you making you think I’m an ally, I’d challenge you directly. This mess seems to be centered around Vocado, he never took his defeat particularly well and I think his search for the Tree is just another step on that road, he’s good with people when he wants to be, I’d imagine some of my wayward Saiyans” Kayen glanced at Scallio “were pulled into this because the Tree is a VERY Saiyan weapon, destruction and power wrapped all in one. What he likely failed to inform them of is that his pursuit is just an effort to try to mimic the past, to cast himself in the role Zucceta played early on in the last era. He tried to have ME do so, but I turned it down, I have no interest in being a copy”“I’ve let you know my plans, I’ve got far greater aspirations than being the second Zucceta. I’ll be the first Kayen” the Queen said with a smirk “I tend to put my trust in my crew, and Scallio is that, as is Narissa. If Scallio got himself into a fight with the Arcosian that's one thing, but Narissa likely was not an active participant in the fight regardless of who started it. I can’t exactly blame Scallio for standing strong on his urge to kill the Arcosian. But I think we owe Carro enough, especially as this is his planet, to let the Arcosian live. But that DOESN'T mean they have to be unharmed necessarily” It would likely be a rough balance to strike, but it seemed ‘fair’ to allow a fight but limit it to no death. “And while I wont use it as justification for requiring it, I think it IS fair to recognize that Scallio’s drive to end the Arcosian is completely natural, imagine what YOU might do if it was Sulfur? Imagine what I would do if it was Ramen, it's quite a bit different to have yourself threatened as opposed to those you care for”

"I was here before you, tin can." She immediately shot back at the strange robot, voice lacking any real hostility as she simply regarded the threat. Sighing quietly, the Saiyan relaxed in order to try and lower the lingering tension. "'Side'? Didn't know there were sides. Looked like a colossal clusterfuck from where I was watching. I guess I'm on my own side? I don't know most of these people, and the only reason I decided to stick around was to talk to him." Amara jabbed a finger at the newly christened Super Saiyan. "I don't have any intention of blowing shit up or murder, if that reassures you. ...Not at the moment, that is." She refocused on her estranged son, eyes narrowing at the sight of Narissa cradled in his arms. A flicker of recognition passed over her, the Saiyan remembering seeing the Heran briefly on Namek but never really having the chance to talk to her at all.
She didn't even have to wonder about the nature of the relationship between the two, Scallio - quite shockingly - not attacking her for a moment to explain just what was going on. Perhaps most normal mothers would've had some sort of reaction to meeting their child's lover, but no emotion stirred beneath Amara's bitter shell as she stared at the unconscious Heran wrapped up by Scallio's much beefier frame. "Love of your life, is it." The Saiyan said quietly, an unreadable expression crossing her face. "I'd be happy to tell you, except I wouldn't know how that fucking feels." Whatever spot that may have once harbored love for Endiver decades ago was gone, and in its' place was a smoldering pit of bitterness, anger, and resentment. "...Do you actually love her, or is this just your honeymoon phase?" Amara paused, grimacing and taking a deep breath.
"Scallio. If you do? Then... congratulations. Better that one person in our fucked up family find that kind of happiness than none." As far as interactions between Amara and Scallio went, such a sentence was positive in the most groundbreaking manner. No scorn, no anger, just a genuine well-wish given out. It didn't help that he had gone on soon after to take a verbal stab at her, irritation flashing in her eyes for a moment at his words before fading away. Instead, she snorted to cover a laugh. "I think I'm long past being an actual 'mom', Scallio. Why would you even want me to pretend like I am one? Don't you want to hate me? Give you an outlet for your stress and anger built up? I had just grown into that little niche perfectly, I think." She spread her arms wide, tone not faltering but face scrunched slightly in poorly hidden hesitation. "And here I am. Though, I guess you also have more pressing matters to attend to, right?"
Amara refused to visibly waver, forcibly keeping up her distanced facade as she watched to see what Scallio would do next. That didn't mean she failed to notice that the other Saiyan had 'sized her up' on entry, no doubt evaluating her strength in some capacity. "...Besides, it looks like you already filled in a gap for a mom a long time ago." The other two went on back and forth, shooting remarks to one another about the situation and some Arcosian that Amara had started filling in was the one that did... something to the Heran. This whole debacle wasn't her problem, and it was no longer Scallio's either. With the many, many Heroes on scene attempting to dive in to murder someone was going to be next to impossible. Even if Amara joined in, they disadvantage would be so large it wouldn't even be a cruel joke. "Look, I get the whole revenge thing kid, but... don't go getting yourself killed on a stupid fucking mountain like this. There's too many people who care about 'stopping bad things' swarming around right now that you're liable to get yourself or that Heran there hurt even more."

1,604,176 / 1,203,132 PL - Narissa: 14,000 PL He frowned, "I expected as much." of course Amara couldn't offer him any advice for this type situation. She'd spent her whole life running away from her feelings just like he had, but even knowing that didn't stop Scallio from being disappointed. "Did you seriously just ask that?" he questioned, his angry glare intensifying. "Of course I love her, I don't have to pretend to fall in love." his outburst was quickly followed by an awkward silence as Amara congratulated him. The anger on his face faded, his expression softening and surprise flashed across his face.
"I..." he looked away, "Thank you." that same foreign sensation he'd felt earlier with Kayen washed over him again. His grip on Narissa tightened as he did his best to push it away. Scallio forced himself to focus on Amara's questions rather than whatever was bubbling up inside of him. "I don't want to hate you." saying that felt like removing a weight from his chest, "Hate and anger are just..." he didn't finish. For as much progress as Scallio had made in confronting his emotions he still wasn't quite ready to deal with everything.
"Filled that gap?" almost instinctively he glanced over to Kayen. Is that what he had done, forced Kayen to fill that role in his life without even knowing it? Part of him felt like that was true but another part of him simply refused to see it that way. He looked back to Amara, "You're stupid if you think that's what Kayen is to me. I respect her sure and she's done a lot for me, more than you, Endiver, or anyone else for that matter. But her as my mother? Don't be ridiculous." older sister perhaps but not his mother.
Scallio put his talk with Amara on pause, as the conversation between Carro and Kayen finally reached his ears. He shifted his entire body to face the two world leaders. "Self-defense? You have to be fucking kidding me." his temper flared, "The only reason I came to this mountain in the first place is on a contract. One given to me by your people Carro! They were afraid of some demon stalking Mt.Frappe." granted he'd been the one to start the fight but that didn't matter as far as Scallio was concerned. Aurora had been the one to escalate it to the extreme that she had.
Kayen did her best to defend Scallio but when it appeared that she was ready to bend to Carro's will the mercenary frowned. "No." he said plainly, "I don't care if this is his planet Kayen, I'm not going to just fight her. I'm going to kill her. Narissa was almost taken from me and her children and I'm not going to let that stand." he was caught up in the moment he hadn't even noticed he'd mention his children.
"I'll make you a deal Carro, you let me kill this Arcosian and I'll leave Vocado to his fate. Hell, I'll even leave Earth and never come back." BATTLE INFO Damage: 178%

FUSED CARRO's PL: 4,401,452 (x22P ACTIVE | ANTISENSE)
Carro's frown persisted even as Kayen defended herself. Even if this was all one big oops on her end, her explanation did little to ease the sting of betrayal. "Yes, but I expect you to have more command over your followers. Not one, not even three, but FIVE of your 'traitors' have murdered our defenders, terrorized our cities, struck fear into Earth's heart- each with multiple instances." Sensoa alone had attacked at least four different times. Vocado and Cress had an equally high counter at this point- who knew what other sins Scallio and Kalabas had wrought. Carro was willing to bet there were more instances he wasn't aware of yet. "Whatever you're doing to discipline them clearly isn't working. You're their leader. Act like it."
His scowl softened when Kayen seemed to concede to his demands to spare the Arcosian and the rest of the Earthlings defending her. But he found himself cringing at her alternative idea to just let Scallio rough her up. "...Do you reeeally think he has the brainpower to hold back right about now? Maybe later, but..." He leaned in to whisper to the Queen. Right on cue after the whole mommy issues scene with Amara, the Super Saiyan turned to Earth's leader in a fit of anger. He turned to Kayen as the mercenary ranted with a half-hearted shrug and gesture towards Scallio, a prime example of the concern over her apparent lack of control he'd expressed seconds ago.
He did raise a brow at the mention of an Earthling being the source of Scallio's orders, but his excuse was still poor. "Your point is..?" Carro trailed off, tone still composed yet tired. "To me, it sounds like you ran out here to assassinate her, and she fought back to stay alive. Sounds like self-defense to me... By the way, did you know putting hits on people is illegal on Earth, regardless of if the contractor is Earthling or not?" If anything, Scallio's attempted "reasoning" only made the President see more wrong with the saiyan's claims. "I understand your rage- if my special other had been the one maimed, then I'd be livid, as Kayen said. But that does not put you in the right- this just goes to show how impulsive the whole thing is. If people were concerned over something on the mountain, law enforcement should have been the ones to handle it and not another wanted criminal."
Then, the man made his offer. Let him kill another innocent. Let him feel satisfied while others grieved over a needless death. Carro's teeth grit in anger. "...No." He bluntly responded. "Vocado will get what's been coming to him, and I will not let another die to his blind followers." He hovered in the air, though he had yet to slip into any sort of fighting stance. "...Besides, if that Arcosian truly wanted your lover to die, then you'd be holding a corpse right now." Aurora had the power to snap Narissa like a twig, but she didn't.
"I'd listen to your mother if I were you. To be blunt; throwing a fit will just waste everybody's time. What do you think, Kayen?" He turned to look back to the Queen. Now would be a good time to show him if she truly could keep her own lackeys on a leash...
