CHROMO'S PL: 2,288,000 (x13P | 176k BASE)
"Come on, come on, this has got to be the one..." Chromo's claws fumbled about. Just outside of West City was the beetle, curled under a bridge across one of the city canals. He could hear the distant howl of sirens, but paid no mind. That Baomart had it coming, and he had better use for these batteries anyways, so stealing was okay this time because it was important!
Chittering to himself in anxious worry, he tried to lodge one of the batteries in the back of the disc-shaped radar... No, no, it was too small. Chromo hissed, throwing it into the river in increasing frustration. Why were none of these working?! He had to get out there- he had to be running out of time! Every second he spent here was another where the bad guys could be about to summon that stupid dragon and take away any and all hope of ever seeing his brother ever again. Chromo whimpered at the thought, franticly shifting through the remaining stolen batteries. There was only one he hadn't tried yet. He crossed his two fingers with one claw as he tried to fit it in place...
--CLICK-- ...It fit. It actually fit!
"Yes yes YES!" Chromo gasped, turning the device over. "D-don't worry, bro, I'm gonna--!!"
...As soon as he did, gravity whisked the battery out of the back of the Dragon Radar. Chromo froze. ". . ."
"...AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGHK--!!" He screamed in frustration, firing an aimless blast of ki to the heavens. It nicked the side of the bridge he'd hunkered under, leaving a plume of smoke from the newfound debris beside him. Great. Now if some wise guy saw his little outburst and came to bother him, he'd only have himself to blame. The beetle seethed in frustration, though he didn't notice the tears trickling from his eyes. Chromo gripped Tarch's torn jacket, still snugly wrapped around his neck- he had never taken it off since the day he found it.
Chromo slumped against the wall. Everything sucked. Everything he touched had to be cursed. But Tarch wouldn't give up if their fates had been swapped- he would never even consider it. So neither would Chromo. Taking a slow breath in and wiping away his tears, Chromo began to sort through the remaining batteries again. One of these had to be the right one...
