DIVINE RETRIBUTION
FEND's PL: 16,000
Pure terror surged through Fend's veins, icy daggers straight to the heart. It was fight or flight- the fear she’d felt fleeing the Otherworlds island was laughable compared to how she felt now. Fend's eyes shut tight as ki continued to wrap around her form, though it didn't ease the burning sensation in her eyes. Using the Kai-Kai came so naturally before, but between her drained energy and fright eating away at her stamina and concentration like a parasite, Fend found herself gritting her teeth in pain as the glow began to fade. The wisps of ki gave way to cold wind, green grass and blue skies.
"AAAGHK-!!" The world rushed by in a blur as the cloaked Kai's body dropped from the unstable tear of ki in the sky. She couldn't focus in time to catch herself before feeling a piercing impact. She felt her leg move in a way it shouldn't, jangled. Leaves and branches scratched at the fallen god's exposed skin before finally giving way, dropping the muddied body to the forest floor. Fend's head spun. Her breath still caught in her throat while her heart refused to slow its rapid beating.
Aside from her sprained leg, Fend's injuries were moderate- yet this was her first brush with pain of this degree. Her head hurt, and she couldn't tell if the quaking of the arm she used to push her torso upright was trembling from exhaustion or fear. The shinjin's sights swirled in a daze- it was hard to tell what anything around her even was for a few seconds. The horrors she saw unfolding on Namek replayed in her head. The realization that she was likely one of the last to see the green world intact made her feel sick.
Fend gripped her tattered cloak, gripping onto a nearby tree to push herself upright while her wounded leg dangled limply. "Holy shit." She muttered to herself, covering her mouth with a free hand. "Holy fucking shit." All of that actually happened- she saw it. She'd seen atrocities from her pedestal in the Otherworlds, but experiencing one...?
...At least it fueled her with all the more resolve to be the one to stop it from happening ever again one day.
